Chapter Five
Dominic stretched out his fingers as he looked up from his laptop, he took a glance around him as he took in the minimal conversations around the office, he couldn't care about listening as he leaned back slightly to stretch his back.
His eyes caught a glimpse of the closed blinds in James' office, he swallowed his emotions as he aching hand annoyed him yet again.
Dominic rose up to his feet, he grabbed a folder from his desk before confidently walking towards James' office, he didn't bother knocking as he got to the door instead he pushed it wide open.
"Sir." Dominic's voice felt calm in the office.
James jumped in his chair as he opened his eyes "Serious? What is with you lot not taking the hint? Curtains down, leave me alone."
Dominic rolled his eyes "If you wanted to wank off, you should've just stayed home."
"Ha. Ha. Funny." James sat up as he stared at Dominic "What do you want?"
"These need your signature." Dominic dumped the four folders on James' desk.
"It can wait."
"Oh, I bet your dad would love hearing you say that."
James rolled his eyes "Your just pissed that I couldn't get it up for you."
"No. I'm pissed that your too busy passing yourself off as a whore rather than staying committed."
James rose up from his seat "I would take great satisfaction in firing you."
"And I'd take great joy in suing you." Dominic took pride in his sentence.
"Gentlemen."
James swallowed his ego as he stood up straight, Dominic turned around to see Mr Eldridge Deadsee standing behind him.
"Sir."
"Don't tell me. It's..." Mr Eldridge took a second to think "Dominic."
"Yes, sir."
"Glad this memory still sticks, unlike some things." He stared at James.
James dropped his gaze down to the office desk.
"I should get back to work." Uncomfortableness floated through Dominic's body language.
"Stay. This involves you too." Mr Eldridge admitted as he stepped further into the room, he closed the door "I know you'd like that promotion Dominic, it's probably one of the few things you didn't fuck my son for."
Dominic swallowed hard, his relationship with James had ended five and a half years ago, he wasn't sure what James had told his father nor what Mr Deadsee knew about their relationship ending.
"I'm guessing my son is too chicken shit to tell you that the company is having an exclusive party. Hand selected by yours truly."
Dominic listened; he kept his gaze away from James.
"I would say, go with my son but seeing as though all his good at is fucking up a good thing." He allowed those words to burn into the air "Than I encourage you to bring a plus one."
"It's fine. I'm not going anyway." James felt a fleeting second of joy in his words.
"You're going." Mr Eldridge demanded "Your part owner of this company too, now get your ass into gear." Mr Eldridge looked at Dominic "Back to work, Dominic."
"Sir." Dominic didn't need to be told twice as he rushed out of the door, he closed the door behind him before rushing back to his desk.
