Chapter 3
"Prince Dave, your father would like to see you" a guard said, guiding Dave to his father, who wondered why he didn't just walk up to him.
He sighed, walking into the room. "Father?" He looked around, finally noticing his father in his bed.
"Son.." his voice was weak, and his movements were slow.
"Are you okay?!" Dave exclaimed, scared and worried. "I love you..." he smiled, but Dave's eyes widened. "I have to go son.." tears threatened to spill from both their eyes.
"No. No, no, no. You can't- I can't lead a kingdom!" His voice started to stutter, mind all over the place, tears spilling from his eyes. "P-please.." his father looked him in the eyes. "You'll be a good leader, Dave.."
The King took his last breath.
Dave laid his head on his father's chest, hugging him. "I l-love you, f-father.." he stuttered, managing a few words out between sobs.
Word had gotten around, and Clay wanted to check up on Dave, but knew he couldn't.
He sighed, sitting on his bed, looking at the necklace he had been given when he was younger.
"Always have this on you, Clay" his mother smiled, ruffling his hair as the boy stared at it, curiosity filled eyes staring at a light green amulet.
He smiled, hugging the amulet, memories flooding in of his mother, most good.
He shook his head, giggling at the thought he had.
He smirked, grabbing a toy spider and putting it in his pocket.
"Ohh clayyy"
The boy turned around, seeing his friend, George.
He smiled, "geoorrgeee" that earned a laugh from the other, Clay joining in.
"You want to do something?" George asked, Clay nodding as he got up, walking up to the boy and leaving.
"Another quest?" George nodded, Clay smiling. "What type?" George thought for a minute, before shrugging.
"What about..." Clay put a finger on his chin and rubbed, like in the movies. George shook his head, giggling.
"We're speed running that game again!" Clay started. "Which game?" Goerge interrupted, the other glared at him.
"The one where we're trying to reach a goal and someone tries to stop our progress" George nodded, "how about Nick tries to stop us?" George suggested, Clay dragged him all the way to the future Duke's house.
"Nick!" George shouted as he knocked on the door, the 2 awaiting the boy's presence.
And soon enough, the dark haired boy came out. "Yes?" His voice laced with confusion, staring at the 2 boys, awaiting an explanation.
"So we want you to join is a quest/game!" George exclaimed, happily.
"Sure.." the 3 walked to the area, setting the game, as they see it, up.
"Ready!" Clay shouted, and the game began.
They had to get 8 diamond blocks, and Sap had to try his best to stop them from getting them.
Nick jumped down from the podium, chasing after the 2 from a distance, eyes stern as he watched them intently.
"You're not winning this time.." he whispered loudly to himself, the animals around him mentally shaking their heads, the 3 being the ones to do the quests the most.
George started going into a mine, making sure he was quiet so Nick couldn't track him, but the boy was smarter.
He quickly ran into the mine and hid, making sure George didn't see him, which to his luck, he hadn't.
George was confident, he mined some iron, smelting it then crafting an iron pickaxe.
He went deeper.
Small, quiet footsteps echoed throughout the now cave, and George stopped.
The footsteps got louder.
George panicked, starting to run down deeper, tripping over a rock and rolling down.
"Ow" he looked up, being met by Nick. "NO" he shouted as Nick tackled him, tickling him til George gave in.
Tickling was a way to stop the quest for the person doing it, and George had failed it.
"Now, I need to get Clay" and off they went, George not being to help, but Nick saw the direction and started heading there.
Clay breathed heavily, catching his breath. The boy took some important tools and ran, leaving his useless ones behind.
Soon though, he got tired, sitting down beside a tree, hoping he was far away from Nick.
But to his luck, Nick had tackled him to the ground.
His fingers brushing against his body as he tickled him, Clay letting out fits of giggles unwillingly, and soon enough, George joined in.
The 3 laughing with eachother, having not had this much fun in a while.
George and Clay enjoying their time with eachother, and Nick feeling like a 3rd wheel.
