Yeosang and Wooyoung watched as the camp started gathering on the east side. They waited until the king was surrounded by his own troops before making their way down the hillside.
Wooyoung led the way, crouching over and pausing whenever he heard footsteps. Yeosang's illusion spell was powerful, but if anyone ran into them the rescue would be over.
His could feel his pulse pounding in his head and he got closer and closer to the main tent.
When it came into view, he had to keep himself from running forward. A group of soldiers ran past, drawing their swords.
Wooyoung counted to three before darting across the open area and holding the flap open for Yeosang to slip in after him.
The spell was dropped immediately, and he ran over to Kita. She was shocked for a second, then he held his fingers to her lips and smiled before untying her from the post. He pulled her to him and breathed her in.
Yeosang tapped them both and Kita tried to hug him too, but he shook his head and muttered the words to the illusion spell.
Kita held onto Wooyoung's hand tightly as he led them out of the camp again. They ran as fast as they dared.
Glancing to their right, he could see Mingi's group running back as well.
Everything seemed to be working out perfectly. Wooyoung felt his heart racing and he squeezed Kita's hand.
Then a fireball landed right by Mingi's group. The grass erupted in flames immediately and several people could be heard screaming.
Kita's hand fell out of his and he tried to find her, but Yeosang's illusion spell was still active. "Kita!" He hissed. "Yeosang, I lost her." He said.
The wizard dropped the spell and they both turned to see Kita running to the flames.
"Kita! No!" They called, running after her. Wooyoung could see the army mobilizing to the east of them, heading in their direction.
The area lit up as San started forming another fireball.
"Barida!" Yeosang cried out, holding is hands up. A large, magical wall formed between them and San's army. Sweat ran down his forehead as he concentrated on keeping it up.
Wooyoung kept running after Kita, but he noticed Seonghwa leading the remaining guards and pirates down the hill to collect them. Some broke off to protect Yeosang while the rest made their way to where Mingi's group had been.

Kita hated breaking contact with Wooyoung, but the second she heard the screams she knew she had to try and help them.
When she reached the scene, she could tell she was too late for many. They had been in the direct path of San's flames and were burned alive.
Fighting back tears, she knelt next to the first person and placed her hands on his chest. The glowed bright blue this time as she called on more of her power than before, trying to speed up the healing process. When she could sense he was going to be ok, she moved on to the next one.
"Mingi!" She gasped and placed a hand on the side of his face. He didn't look good. He was hardly recognizable, but she could never forget his sweet face. "H-hold on." She placed her hands on his chest and cried out as she summoned her power again.
It wasn't working as fast as she wanted it to. She closed her eyes and delved deeper into herself.
Screams came from behind her. She didn't want to think about who else was hurt because of her.
"Please! Please help me!" She looked up at the sky and cried out, begging the gods.
She felt something shift in her, then a large pulse of energy exploded from her.

Seonghwa tried to turn to go help Kita, but San's fireball collided with Yeosang's barrier and he watched the wizard fall to his knees, his barrier flashed once but held.
He looked to see Wooyoung running to Kita, so he turned his horse and forced it to gallop to Yeosang. When he got close, he jumped and placed himself behind the other, wrapping his arms around him from behind. "Draw on me, I know you can. I'm here, my love." He said, he could feel Yeosang shaking in his arms, but his eyes were locked on the barrier in concentration.
"No. I can do this." He said through gritted teeth.
Seonghwa tightened his grip and buried his face in the other's shoulder.
Yeosang growled as he fought against the onslaught of King San's fireballs.
Then a large pulse of energy came from their left. It passed through them and Seonghwa suddenly felt like he could fight forever. He jumped when the wizard roared in front of him and the barrier became brighter and seemed to get thicker.

Jongho could hear fighting in front of them and saw the glow of one of King San's attacks. He urged his horse to go faster and heard the pirates behind him do the same. They stopped at the top of a hill and gasped as they saw a barrier come up between the two sides.
"Hongjoong, go back to the meeting place and protect Katrina." Yunho said, spurring his horse forward. Jongho followed close behind them.
The last part must have gone wrong. "Please let Kita be ok." He whispered under his breath.
As they got closer, he saw Yunho's head turning every which way as if he was looking for something. He also saw the prince with his arms around Yeosang, the wizard holding his hands up to form the barrier.
Then a pulse of energy came from beyond the couple. When it passed through them, the horses reared back in freight, tossing both their riders to the ground.

He was almost there. He saw Kita kneeling in front of a body and watched as she turned her head to the sky and cry out for help.
Then he was thrown back as a pulse of energy flew out of her and passed through him. He could hear her scream.
Wooyoung rubbed the back of his head where it had come in contact with the ground. Groaning slightly, he pushed himself off the ground and saw Kita staring at the body beneath her.
He pushed himself off the ground and ran to her, then gasped when he saw it was Mingi. But he looked perfectly fine.
In fact, all the soldiers and pirates around them looked like they had been fully healed.
"What was that?" Wooyoung said, placing a hand on Kita's shoulder. She just shook her head then leaned forward to hug Mingi.
The guard smiled and hugged her too while ruffling Wooyoung's hair. "Thank you, Princess." He said. Then he stood, pulling her with him, and turned to survey his men.
The only ones who hadn't stood were the ones that had been killed by the fire. The rest were staring at Kita with wonder, then they all quickly bowed and turned around to face the oncoming army.
"What do we do now?" Mingi said. "I don't think Yeosang can hold that barrier much longer."
Kita turned to the wizard, then started running in that direction. "Gather everyone up, get ready to leave!" She said over her shoulder.
Wooyoung followed her, feeling refreshed and energized. He felt something stirring in his chest, but just attributed it to the energy that had passed through him.
He watched as Kita knelt beside Yeosang and her brother, the siblings exchanged a quick relieved look before she placed a hand on the wizard. "Will this hold if you move away?"
"Maybe, I don't know how long though. But with how I'm feeling right now, I think I could get it to hold for a while." He said through gritted teeth.
"Wooyoung, can you go get us some horses?"
"No need," Jongho came galloping up, pulling four horses behind him. He looked so happy to see Kita that a bright smile crossed his face.
"Ok, Hwa, can you get him onto a horse?" Kita said, moving over to mount her own horse. He nodded and lifted Yeosang up. When everyone was settled, Kita moved over and placed a hand on the wizard's shoulder. It started to glow white and his eyes widened as they too seemed to glow.
Wooyoung looked at the barrier. San was close now and his fire seemed to be getting even hotter, the flames started to have a blue hue to them. He gulped then turned back to Kita. Her hair had come loose and was flying in all directions around her.
"Now!" She said.
Yeosang pushed his hands forward and the barrier turned almost solid.
In one synchronized movement, they all turned their horses around and sent them flying to the remainder of their men. They didn't stop. The others fell into place behind them and they made a mad dash back to Cressa.

San roared with fury, flinging attack after attack at the barrier in front of him. The edges of his vision where white. He too had felt the pulse of energy and it filled him with so much power he concentrated every ounce of it on the barrier.
He wanted to kill them all. Even the princess. She would burn for doing this to him. They all would. But he would make sure he saved her for last so he could savor every second of pain on her face as she watched her loved ones die. Then he would use her, get his fill, then he would burn her.
This wasn't over.
