For those of you who have played Kingdom Hearts and have been on the internet, Sora's mom actually exists in the universe.

In the beginning of Kingdom Hearts right before Destiny Islands gets swallowed into darkness, Sora's mom can be heard calling him for dinner (obviously he didn't make it). According to the timeline, Sora is around 14 years old in KH and CoM (chain of memories) and 15 during KH2 and DDD (Dream Drop Distance).

Since you would assume that the seekers of darkness wouldn't just wait to do their Final mission, Sora would either be or close to 16.

With that said, Sora's mom has been waiting for Sora to come to dinner for about 2 years now.

I guess you can say that it MAst of been a long mission to not come back to your mother, I mean come MOM.
