Adegast.

I decided to work on this chapter and get it out as soon as I could. Because by the time I'm writing this... It's Godzilla's 68th anniversary!

Celebrating 68 years of Godzilla, I give to you the next chapter of King of the Isles!

...

It's been years since Godzilla was seen.

No new monsters popped up, so Godzilla hasn't had the need to resurface in all his gigantic glory.

Even if he wasn't, according to Lilith, he somehow gained the ability to walk amongst witches in a smaller size. But if he was walking around in his smaller size, no one has seen him since he attacked Lilith's troops.

Thanks to Lilith's report on what had happened, Eda had been swarmed with questions at her 'human artifacts' booth. There wasn't much to tell, but she did say that Godzilla had saved her, and disappeared after bringing her back home... after giving him directions of course.

Needless to say, Godzilla's popularity, or infamy in Belos' case, had skyrocketed from that day. People had went as far as to make merchandise, songs, and celebrate the day he first ever made his debut in the isles.

As for emperor Belos, he wasn't sure what to make of Godzilla's disappearance. On one hand, Godzilla no longer posed as a threat to him or his plans for the time being. On the other hand, if another giant monster appeared, he's not sure if they can stop it.

But everyone would soon see the king of monsters once again, and it all starts after the owl lady meets a human kid.

...

We now open on the Owl House.

It houses three inhabitants. Although it now houses four at the moment.

Who are they?

An older Eda Clawethorne.

Hooty, the house's house demon who's attached to the door facing outside.

King, a dog-like demon with a skull face who's a self proclaimed king of demons.

Finally, Luz Noceda. A human girl, and the Owl House's newest resident.

Anyways, let's get cut to what's happening inside.

The wind howls as it moves Luz's open window, making it creak. Luz rolls over, and breathes heavily.

Flashback to events of the previous episode: Owlbert, Eda's palisman, hopping through the portal door in Eda's tent with a sack in his beak with Luz running through behind him.

Luz: Stop adorably hopping away, you... Huh?

Cut to the living room, the first time Luz entered.

Eda: Welcome to... *Snaps fingers* ...the Owl House.

Luz gasps in surprise, and then it cuts to Luz's first staff ride.

Cut to present, and Luz wakes up with a gasp and looks around the room. King can be seen snoring as he's still asleep.

Luz smiles with glee, seeing that everything that happened to her was real.

"It wasn't a dream!" She says happily.

Luz then goes, and opens another window.

"Good morning, terrifying fantasy world." She says to no one in particular.

As soon as she gazes out towards the sea, she actually glimpse of a long reptilian tail with a blunt tip being raised into the air as whatever it was began to dive deeper into the water, and the tail slams on top of the water's surface before it sunk deeper.

Luz could've sworn it reminded her of something. She quickly brushed it off as the isles being what it is, and goes over to King as he continues snoring.

"Good morning, you little cutie-pie." Luz says as she kisses his head repeatedly.

"I am not your cutie-pie!" King declares in defiance.

"Yes, you are." Luz continues as she hugs him tightly before putting him back down on her sleeping bag.

"I know." King sighed in defeat.

We now see Luz, fully dressed, opening the bathroom door. Several owls fly out of it, hooting. She watches them fly away before entering, walking backwards.

"Hi, Luz!" Hooty suddenly greets through the bathroom window.

Luz screams and karate chops Hooty's face.

Ow! I'm just wishing you a good morning." Hooty says as he retreats to the front door. "Jeez! Hoot! Ow!"

"Sorry, Hooty." Luz called out to him.

Luz looks at the bathroom counter, and picks up her Azura book. She flips it open to a headshot of Azura and holds it up to the mirror.

"This is it, old girl. Your first day on the Boiling Isles, as a Witch Apprentice. Hyah!" Luz says to herself before punching the air.

Luz then opens a closet door while covering her eyes.

"Please have witchy clothes. Please have witchy clothes. Please have witchy clothes." Luz pleads excitedly.

She then removes her hand off her eyes, and sees a closet full of stereotypical witchy stuff.

"Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!" She cheers happily.

We then see Luz writing "Witch Apprentice Luz" on a name tag and sticking it to her chest. She is now wearing a robe, and what looks to be a witch's hat as she stands at the bottom of a staircase. Luz squeals. A toliet flushes. Eda's shadow appears on the wall before she steps into frame, and she yawns tiredly.

"Hmm?"

"Good morning, Eda the Owl Lady. I am ready for my first day of Witch Apprenticeship." Luz says enthusiastically.

"Ugh!" Eda groans as she shakes spiders out of her hair, picks another one out of her ear. "Who are you, again?" She asks.

"Huh?" Luz says in disbelief, as she stares in horror as her name tag falls to the floor.

Luz then follows Eda into the kitchen.

"Remember me? Luz?" She asks the witch, then grunts as a coffee cup hits her in the back of the head. "We freed the oppressed, and defeated the evil warden together? Yesterday?" Luz continues, briefly summarizing yesterday's events.

"Kid, lay off the details. I haven't even had my cup of apple blood yet." Eda says as she pours herself a mug of the mentioned drink.

"You mean apple juice?" Luz asks.

"No." Eda bluntly stated.

Eda sits on the kitchen table, and drinks from her mug. King is sitting in a high chair, and stabbing a fork into a yellow blob with eyes sitting on a plate.

"Teach me some spells. When do I get a magic staff? Was I supposed to bring my own runes?" Luz questions before she gasps in realization. "Do you have a dangerous magical quest for me?"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down, kid. Being a witch doesn't happen overnight. Also, you're wrapped in a bathrobe, and wearing the dirtiest traffic cone I've ever seen." Eda says, pointing out what the human is wearing.

Luz pulls her hat off, and blows on it, revealing that it was, in fact, a traffic cone with a severe layer of dust on it.

King laughs at her expense.

"But a magic staff, huh? You really want one?" Eda asks.

"More than anything." Luz answers.

"Magic staff, come to me!" Eda declares as she holds out her hand.

For a second, nothing happens. Then several things crash distantly. King, Luz, and Eda all slowly turn to the sound, until Eda's staff appears, and smacks her in the face, clattering to the ground.

Eda grunts, and picks the staff up, spinning it before tapping it on the ground.

"It's early. Now, witches are awarded their staffs from school. With me as your teacher, you'll be taking a different approach." Eda says, then drops a bag of potions onto the floor.

"You'll have to work for it." She says.

She then leads Luz through the living room.

"I run a few businesses. On weekends, I offer rare human treasures that Owlbert drags over from your side of the realm." Eda explains, then she grabs a toy sword, and hits a button near the pommel.

Sword: "I shall smite my enemies! Ages six to eleven."

Eda then tosses the sword over Luz's head as she continues.

"But most days I sell only the finest homemade elixirs, and potions." She says.

Luz then pulls a bottle from the bag, and reads the label. "Snake oil."

"No one wants an un-oiled snake. Follow me." Eda says.

We now cut to Eda, and Luz walking onto a balcony.

"Today you'll deliver packages, and sell potions to that town over there, Bonesborough. You'll have to be careful. I have rivals everywhere who'd love to take my business down, and you along with it. You wanted a dangerous magical quest? Sister, you've got one." Said Eda.

"I won't let you down, Miss Eda."

Luz turns to salute Eda, dropping the sack of potions off the balcony in the process. The two of them watch it fall, Luz wincing when it crashes loudly on the ground.

"I'm sure." Eda says.

We now cut to the living room, where Eda is pushing Luz out the door with a new bag of potions.

"Remember, never befriend a man in sandals, and always measure twice, cut once." Eda explains.

"Uh..."

"Good luck!" Eda says before slamming the door shut, and dusts her hands off, then looks at King.

"I hate to interrupt your power nap, but you have to go with her." Said Eda.

"What? But I just found the perfect spot. Why do I have to go?" King complained.

"You and I know she's either going to get lost or eaten, probably both."

"No, I won't." Luz says as she squishes her face against the window.

Eda then closes the blinds with a spell before she continues talking with King.

"And because you work for me, too, unless you want to start paying rent." Eda threatened.

King throws a short tantrum before stomping out the door.

"Be back by nightfall or risk mortal peril." Eda says before slamming the door again.

"Have a nice trip." Hooty says.

"Huh! Let's get this over with." King huffed in annoyance.

We now fade to Bonesborough, where Luz, and King walk through an archway.

"Woah!" Luz says in awe.

We zoom out to reveal a wall covered in wanted posters on either side of the archway. Various types of demons pass, all of which Luz stare at in amazement.

Due to her staring at the demons, she misses a poster of a familiar giant saurian.

"Hey, it's rude to stare." King said.

"I've only seen places like this in my dreams. It's incredible. And I'm the only human here?" Luz questioned.

"Haven't seen any others." King Shrugs.

"Wow! There must be a reason for that, right? Why am I here? What if I, Luz Noceda, average teen, actually had..." she then gasps in realization "...a predetermined path of greatness?" She asks herself before gasping again. "Just like Azura!"

"Yeah. Did Azura's path to greatness involve her delivering boil cream?" King questions as he grabs a potion labeled "Boil B' Gone" from the sack and holds it up.

"Today I'm delivering packages, but tomorrow I'll be earning the respect of everyone on the Boiling Isles with my magical prowess." Luz states with confidence.

"Ha! Good luck. The Boiling Isles is nothing but a cesspool of despair." King says, finding her statement to be ridiculous.

"More like a cesspool of delight." Luz says, not believing what he's saying is true.

Luz puts the boil cream back in the sack before hefting it over her shoulder and looking around. She starts in the direction of the market, where she walks up to a centaur holding a pumpkin in front of his chest.

"What has four hooves, and wants to buy a potion? This guy." Luz says, looking up to where his face is supposed to be.

The centaur sighs, and lowers the pumpkin to reveal his face is on his chest. "My eyes are down here."

"Luz exclaims in shock.

We now cut to a house, where Luz rings the doorbell. She leaves her hand on the button, and the doorbell bites her hand, and slowly starts to eat her arm. King walks away in annoyance. We then cut to a curb, where Luz and King are sitting, the latter scarfing down a Not Dog from the cart behind them.

"I know I've had enough delight for one day." King sighed.

"I thought being the only human in a magical world would make me special. But apparently, it just makes everyone want to scream at me or..." Luz holds up her arm to reveal a small winged creature biting her elbow. "... eat me."

Luz flings the creature away, and sighs, opening her book.

"At this point, Azura had already been sent on an enchanted quest. Where's my quest-granting wizard?" Luz asks.

"Sorry to break it to you, Luz, but no one here is that well-dressed." King points out.

"This has been a rough day." Luz says as she stands, and hefts the potions sack over her shoulder with a grunt; takes out a piece of paper and starts down the alley.

"Let's just deliver this last package and go home. Maybe this world isn't what I thought it wa— *Gasps* Pretty!" Luz says as she sees the residence of where she's delivering the potion.

It's revealed to be a large castle with golden banners illuminated by sunlight. The doorbell is also made of gold, and towering wooden doors open after Luz presses it.

"Big houses always belong to big whackjobs. Let's kick the package inside, and get outta here." Said King, not wanting to stick around any more than he has to.

"Hello?" Luz called out as she walked inside, and ignored King.

"Hey, wait." King says as he runs after Luz, yelping when the doors slam behind him. "Weh!"

"I-I'm delivering a package from Miss Eda, the Owl Lady. Huh?" Luz says as she enters a room.

Lanterns around the room flare on, revealing it to be a massive library. They illuminate a grand staircase, above which is a painting of a wizard. Said wizard enters from a door in the same pose he has in the painting.

"Today just got good." Luz gasped before dancing excitedly. "Magical wizard!"

"Weird old man in jim-jams." King stated.

"I was in my oscillarium, reading the stars. And who might you be, with eyes full of curiosity?" The wizard asked as he descended from the stairs.

"Uh, I-I'm—" Luz stuttered.

The wizard then ran up to the two of them.

"Young lady, dareth I say, I sense something unique about you. Please, won't you join me for tea?"

The wizard summons two chairs, and a table of snacks. He then sits down in a white throne.

"Okay." Luz gasped.

King then grabbed Luz's leg. "Let's scram!" He says before climbing up to Luz's shoulder. "Wizards are just old people with glitter in their pockets."

The wizard takes a handful of glitter out of his pocket, and drops it on the floor.

"I don't trust him." Said King.

"But the stars on his robe are sparkling. And look, there's a baby fox in his beard." Luz insisted.

The baby fox giggles.

"Plus, I see scones on the table." Luz points out.

"Where?" King asked, suddenly wanting food.

King pants as he runs to the table. Luz follows him, dropping the bag of potions in front of the chair as she sits in it.

"We'd love to join you for tea." Luz says as King munches on the food.

Luz then turns, and notices a cart of potions.

"Do you sell potions, Sir Wizard?" She asks.

"Please, call me Adegast. Ma'am, yes, I run a small business." He says.

King, while munching, holds up an empty plate.

"You should run a small business of more scones into my mouth." King says.

He then chuckled with glee as his plate is refilled. "Yes!"

"I'm surprised to see you here. It was my understanding that Eda delivered the packages herself." Adegast.

"Well, I'm kinda, sorta, her apprentice." Luz explained briefly.

"Oh! And how are you finding the experience so far?" Adegast asks.

Luz holds a fake grin before sighing in disappointment.

"Can I be honest, Mr. Adegast? When I decided to stay in this magical world, I thought I was meant for something special. But Eda thinks I'm meant for chores, and I'm afraid I came to the wrong place." Said Luz.

"Well, I have a quest—" Adegast said as he approached Luz.

"A quest?" She questioned, and a cup shatters.

Adegast chuckles before continuing. "You didn't let me finish. I have a question."

"Oh."

"Would you like to go on a quest?" He asked.

"Yes!" Luz declared happily.

Adegast reaches into his beard and pulls out a scroll.

"I might have just the thing."

Adegast unrolls the scroll to reveal a map.

"The prophecy speaks of a young human girl who will claim the Celestial Staff and free this world from an ancient evil. Perhaps thou hath cometh here for a reason." Adegast explains.

A/n: Ok even I knew that this was bullshit the moment he explained that. He's just telling her what she wants to hear. Seriously, who'd fall for that crap?

"Perhaps I hath." Luz says as she takes the map.

"Should you believe yourself worthy to attempt this quest..." Adegast says as he begins walking through his house.

"So worthy." Luz says as she follows him.

"... you need to know the road is dark and perilous." Said Adegast.

"Love peril. Big fan of peril." Luz states enthusiastically.

"And only the Chosen One can pull the staff from its post." Adegast continued.

"Chosen one." Luz says as she stops walking.

King then walks past Luz with the bag of potions.

"Neat story, awesome. Anyway, your food is gone, and we are, too." King said.

"Yes, we have to go. And pack for this enchanted quest! I'm in." Luz accepts.

"Wonderful." Said Adegast.

We now cut to Luz's bedroom, where she's sheathing the toy sword from earlier. Around her are various potions, food, the quest scroll, and of course her Azura book.

"So, King, what kind of Chosen One should I be?" Luz asks.

King can be seen kneading Luz's sleeping bag, yawns and lies down. "Huh? What?"

Luz then picks up her book. "Should I be full of optimism and goodness, like the Good Witch Azura? Or should I be like a bad girl Chosen One with black nail polish, and a mysteriously withdrawn attitude?" She asks.

Luz then uses the book as a mouth as she spoke. "I act like I don't care, but I secretly do."

"Oh, you guys talking about bad girls? Wait, what's going on?" Eda asks, appearing around the door frame.

"Eda, tell Luz how dumb wizards are." King told Eda.

"Ugh! Wizards are the worst. Never trust a man in casual drapery." Eda scoffs in disgust, gesturing with a severed arm and almost hitting King several times. She then laces her fingers with the severed arm's. "Why?" She asked.

"Your wizard client told Luz... *Laughs* she was a— *Laughing* was a Chosen One!" King explained, failing to control his laughter.

"Wait, wait, Luz?" Eda questioned.

She then snickers before laughing so hard she falls back onto the floor.

"He even gave her a map." King pointed out.

Eda, and King laugh as Luz hides behind her book, an embarrassed blush on her face.

"Let me see this map." Said Eda.

Luz hands her the map. She inspects it for a few seconds.

"You didn't think this was real, did you?" Eda asks.

"What?"

"This map is bunk. There's no lake with a Celestial Staff on the Boiling Isles. I would have stolen it ages ago." Eda explains.

She then notes Luz's down face, and hands her the map back.

"Ah, don't worry. Couple more months here, and you won't look like such a mark." Eda tried to reassure.

"Can I have some time alone?" Luz asks.

Eda shrugs and leaves the room. King hops off of Luz's sleeping bag, and follows Eda. The door closes, casting the room in shadow.

"Maybe they were right." Luz says as she leans against the wall before sliding down it to the floor. She then notices something about the map. "Huh?"

Sunlight is illuminating one corner of the map, revealing the word "one" in shining blue lettering. Luz holds the entire map up to the light revealing the message: "The chosen one The path will only appear to the worthy".

"The path will only appear to the worthy." Luz gasped. "That's why Eda couldn't see it. But am... I really worthy?" She asks herself.

The wind howls, and opens the window. The map flies out of her grasp, landing next to her book. The wind flips the pages to show Azura standing loved, and triumphant on a small hill, the people around her applauding as she holds a staff to the sun.

"I'll never know unless I try." Luz says.

We now cut to the living room, where King is laying down on the couch.

"Finally! All that mean‐spirited laughter made me sleepy." King said, finally getting to nap again.

"Crony, wake up. You said that wizard was one of my clients?" Eda asked, feeling like something was off.

"Yes. Now go away." King said.

"I don't know him that well." Eda says before sitting on the couch with enough force to send King flying into the air. "And I don't trust this itch he's scratching in the human."

"Less talky, more nappy." King said, not caring.

Eda sighs before we cut to the door of Luz's room, which Eda pushes open.

"Hey, Luz? Aw, nuts." Eda calls out, but then sees she's not there.

Her room is empty, the howling wind pushing open the window. Eda runs to the window.

"Hooty, where'd she go?" Eda asked.

"Hoot, hoot. If you want the answer that you seek, solve my riddle within a week—"

Eda punches the wall hard enough to shake the whole house, and leave cracks in the wall.

"Ow! Okay, okay. She went into the forest towards Bonesborough. Sheesh!"

"Ugh!"

We now cut to a sign proclaiming the city limits of Bonesborough, next to it is Luz.

"My first mythical quest. Ha!" Luz declares.

She jumps and slides down an incline, then gets over a fallen log. A thick fog rolls in as she keeps walking.

"Okay. Got my scroll, got my youthful optimism, got my trusty weapon." Luz says, then pulls out the toy sword, and hits a button on it.

Sword: "By the power of Skullgar, I am out of battery."

The lights on the sword dim as Luz lowers it. She continues onward, ducking a branch and cutting a rope with the sword.

"You know, I wonder if I made the right choice by coming here. *Gasps* Wow!" Luz gasped in awe.

The sight before her reveals a village full of cats wearing clothes, and walking on two legs. Luz walks through the village, beaming as she looks around. She approaches a fountain in the middle of a square, from which a witch with a sword strapped to his waist emerges, flipping wet hair out of his face.

"I see. So you're the Chosen One. *Scoffs* The Celestial Staff should've picked me, Nevareth Bladestrife, Teen Prince of Angstmore." Nevareth explains like the angsty edge-lord he is.

"Yes. Yes, I did make the right choice." Luz says, staring at his biceps.

We now cut to an alley, where we see Eda following King, who's sniffing the area.

"This is where we met the scones. I mean, the wizard. Whoa!" King said, then finding something odd.

Eda pushes aside a patched curtain.

"It wasn't like this before." King pointed out.

The castle is now in complete ruin, with crumbling walls, no spire, and faded banners. One of the front doors is laying on the ground, and as they look, a chunk of wall falls from a pillar.

"I don't like this." Eda said.

A door creaks open, revealing the library. Tattered scrolls now litter the floor, shelves are broken, paintings are ripped, and chunks of debris are blocking the stairs. Eda steps forward, onto a bundle of scrolls. She picks them all up, each illuminated with the glowing message of: "The chosen one".

"I really don't like this." Eda says.

A/n: Oh really? What tipped you off?!

We now cut to the middle of the woods, where Luz is walking with Nevareth, and a flying onion with bat wings.

"Nevareth, your vengeful backstory is so compelling. And I'm lovin' your animal sidekick." Luz says.

"After my village was consumed, my heart has known nothing but vengeance." Said Nevareth.

They then stop walking.

"Nevareth!"

"Lady Luz, do you think love can bloom on the battlefield?" He asks.

Luz turns, and laughs to herself.

"This quest is questing in all the right ways."

The three of them walk onto a bridge, yelping when a creature jumps in front of them.

"Ew." Nevareth says.

The cat-like creature then does a little dance before speaking in rhymes.

"Hum-di-diddle, to pass the bridge, you must first solve my riddle."

"Hit me, little furry man." Luz said.

"Your quest shall stop if you fail this game. So tell me, my dear, what is my name?" The cat thing asked.

"Hmm." Luz hummed in thought. But then she bends down to inspect his nametag... which he's wearing plain as day. "Uh... Chris?"

"That's it. You may cross the bridge. And please take this, Chosen One. It shall help you on your journey." Chris says, then hands her a ring.

"Wow. This is amazing. Thank you." Luz says as she puts the ring on.

"Do you need a cape?" Nevareth asks.

"Nah, I think I'm goo—"

"You can use my shirt." He says.

Nevareth rips his shirt off, and ties it like a cape over Luz's shoulders.

"Yes. I need a cape." Luz giggled.

"Three cheers for the Chosen One. Hip, hip..." Nevareth says.

"Hurray!"

"Hip, hip..."

"Hurray!"

Luz blushes from the praise.

"Hip, hip..."

We now cut back to Eda.

"Oh, no." She says.

She, and King are standing in the cat village, which is now destroyed. Dark clouds hang in the sky and fog clouds hang in front of the houses.

"Are you sure she came here?" Eda asks King.

King sniffed the ground before he answered.

"Can't mistake her smell. Like lemons, and young, naïve confidence."

"Hmm."

Eda walks up to the fountain, which is now broken and covered in dying vines. A cat wrapped in vines is laying in the lower basin. Eda kneels in front of the fountain.

"Hey! Wake up, you." Eda demands as she flicks the cat's head. "What have you done with Luz? What's your endgame?" She continues as she shakes it.

"To find your pupil and still your wrath, look ahead and follow the path." The cat cackled as it disintegrates.

"The cat man melted!" King gasped.

Eda sighs as she stands up. "It's a trap. They want me to follow Luz."

"So, what do we do?" King asked.

"Hmm."

...

Meanwhile, back at the old castle, something big, and heavy is stomping the ground as it approached the ruins.

The camera view then sees a charcoal grey, four clawed saurian foot stomped onto the ground on the left side of the frame.

Its owner sniffed the air, and growled before turning to the right, and stomped across the camera's view. As it did, a long tail is seen being dragged behind it.

...

We now cut to the woods, where, along with Nevareth, and Chris, Luz is walking with a fairy much less hostile than the one she met the day before.

"Thank you for inviting me to your feast, Princess. All your food was so tiny and cute." Luz said.

"Princess" twirls her hands, and creates two bracelets. "For you, Chosen One."

Luz puts the bracelets on.

"Thank you. You have all been so kind and thoughtful." Luz says.

She then jumps in the air, and strikes a pose. "I hope this quest never ends."

"Your quest will soon come to an end, for the staff you seek is around the bend." Chris said.

"Thanks for ruining the mood, Chris." Said Luz, dropping her pose.

"Go on, Chosen One. The Celestial Staff is yours. You've earned it." Nevareth.

Luz perks back up, and continues down the path.

"Farewell, Lady Luz." Nevareth says.

"Farewell. We love you, Chosen One." Princess says.

Birds twitter as they fly overhead, casting long shadows below them. Luz looks away from them to focus on the path, before slowing to a stop. Luz gasps. The Celestial Staff stands on a platform in the middle of a lake, illuminated by a ray of light. As Luz approaches the edge of the lake, a glowing comes from the water, followed a few seconds later by a stone walkway rumbling into place, connecting the edge of the lake and the central platform.

"I knew this world wasn't all gloom and doom like Eda, and King said." Luz said as she began skipping, and twirling down the walkway. "There is wonder here. And I... I think I came here for a reason."

A/n: Ok, I just need to get this off my chest because that last line just bugs me. The only REASON she's there is because she followed an owl that took her book, and to avoid going to a depressing camp.

Luz pauses as she reaches the platform, staring at the staff in awe.

"Okay, this is it. Moment of truth." She says.

Luz hesitantly grabs the staff. Blue swirls of magic come out of it, creating waves in the lake as the top of the staff glows brightly. She pulls it out of the ground, and holds it above her head triumphantly.

"Yes! I am the Chosen One! I knew it! I always suspected there was a reason nobody understood my wacky antics back at home." Luz says as she jumps, and twirls in a circle, then holds the staff with both hands. "Now I have concrete proof." She laughed.

Suddenly, the staff disintegrates. The dust blowing away in the wind.

"No!" Luz says fearfully as she grabs at the dust.

Around her, the rest of the illusions fade: flowers at her feet wilt, water drains from the lake, and retreats up the riverbanks. Even the leaves disappear in a swirl.

"What?" Luz says in confusion.

We cut back to Eda, and King flying through the woods on Eda's staff.

"I know this guy. He's no wizard. He's what you'd call a puppeteer, a demon who specializes in scamming and manipulating people. He's trying to use Luz to get to me." Eda explains as she had put the pieces together.

"Yeah, and we're flying directly into his trap. Hurray." King says sarcastically.

"Well, if you can think of a better plan, I'd love to hear it. Hey, faster, you." Eda says, then slaps her staff, and Owlbert hoots.

We cut back to the Celestial Lake, now surrounded in fog. Luz backs up, holding her sword in front of her, and whimpers.

"Luz, the human." Adegast says as he appears from the fog.

"Magical wizard?"

"Your hubris has failed you, Witch Apprentice." Adegast says as he begins cackling like a maniac.

The true Adegast lifts the wizard puppet to reveal an ocotopus-like demon, and the ground begins to crack.

"Huh?"

Her previous travelling companions, and cats from the village arise from the stone, a tentacle in each of their backs. They're lifted in the air, and surround Luz, who slowly spins around.

"Okay, Luz. Don't panic. This is classic Chosen One biz. You just have to rescue everybody, and defeat the final boss." Luz says, not really fully grasping the situation she's in.

"I am everybody! You fool, don't you see? I'm no wizard. And you're no Chosen One. I've tricked you." Adegast laughs evilly.

"What?"

As she's distracted by the reveal, her cape floats up around her. It turns to chains, forcing her to her knees. The bracelets become hand cuffs, and the ring becomes chains that lock her hands together, secured with a padlock.

"No! Betrayed by my own cool accessories. Why are you doing this?" Luz questions.

"Your mentor has been stealing customers from my potions business for years. She must be destroyed." Adegast explains.

"Does everybody have a beef with Eda here?" Luz asks.

All the puppets were verbally agreeing, and Luz sighs at this.

"And you lured her right into my trap, all because you wanted to think you were special." Adegast declares.

"No. Joke's on you, 'cause Eda isn't stupid enough to fall for your trap." Luz points out.

"Adegast!" Eda calls out as she and king have finally arrived.

"Oh, heck!" Luz said.

Eda, and King land at the end of the walkway.

"Eda, I have you now!" Adegast declares.

Two cat puppets erupt from the ground, one grabbing Eda, and the other King.

"That's right. You have me. Now release Luz." Eda demanded.

"I didn't have to be a part of this!" King exclaimed fearfully.

"Oh, she can leave. If she wants to. But I sense she wants a real fantasy." Said Adegast.

The Chris puppet breathes a cloud of fog at Luz. When she opens her eyes, she's free of her restraints, kneeling in a dark void. Adegast's puppets walk up to her from the dark.

"Stay with us, Luz. Stay with Adegast. We need you here. You could be our Chosen One." Nevareth says.

"Yeah, you can eat our tiny foods forever." Princess insisted.

"Luz, why would you want to live in a world where people laugh at you?" Nevareth asks.

"It is beautiful here." Luz says.

"Luz!" Eda calls out.

"And you guys think I'm special." Luz continued.

"No!" Eda grunts as the tentacle nearly envelops her.

The puppets all close in on Luz.

"But it's not real." Luz says.

She grunts, and waves the fog away, running forward to pick up her sword.

"I am a Witch's Apprentice. And I'm gonna earn my magic staff the hard way. I believed you, Magic Man. Now feel my wrath!" Luz declares with newfound determination.

Luz stabs the wizard puppet through the stomach, making it disappear with a poof. Adegast screams. Eda, and King free themselves, landing next to Luz with grunts. Luz swings her sword at the princess puppet like it's a bat, making her poof away. Three cat puppets approach Eda. She draws a spell circle, sending a plume of orange smoke at them. They disintegrate with distorted screams. Adegast continues screaming. Nevareth tries to blindside Luz, but his yell alerts her. She catches his sword with her own, and duels him.

"I thought we had a connection, Nevareth!" Luz says before she plunges her sword through his chest.

"Ah, my flawless pecs! *Poofs*"

Eda lands next to Luz, the two sharing a smile.

"Back off!" Adegast demands as he holds up King. "Or the dog gets it."

"I am not a—" King says, but is soon muffled but the tentacle.

Eda, and Luz drop their weapons, and raise their hands in surrender.

"King, I'm sorry. I should have listened to you, and never trusted that wizard. You were right. He isn't mystical or magical. He's just a big, slimy jerk." Luz says.

She kicks her sword, sending it flying point first into Adegast's head. He screams, and drops King, who is caught by Luz.

Adegast the tears the sword out of his head, and growls angrily before sending two more tentacles at them.

"ENOUGH!" He yells loudly as he had them ensnared.

"I've grown tired of your stupid little games, and your newfound life lesson. Now you all shall DIE!!!" Adegast declares.

However, before he could do anything, something was marching its way through the woods towards them, and a loud roar can be heard resonating from within.

SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK!!!

Luz's eyes widened in both shock, and surprise. She knows that roar. No one could ever forget that roar.

Trees fell over, and the brush crunched as something big came closer towards them. Birds also flew into the air from being spooked. The air was filled with suspenseful tension as whatever it was that's coming closer to the clearing trekked through the vegetation, and it wasn't long until it finally marched into the clearing.

The eyes of Luz, Eda, King, and Adegast had widened in shock at what had finally broken through the tree line.

Standing before them, is none other than the king of the monsters himself... GODZILLA.

"Oh crud." Adegast says with fear in his voice.

"Godzilla?!" Luz and Eda exclaimed in unison.

The two looked at each other in brief confusion, and surprise.

"Wait, you know him?!" They said in unison again.

Adegast had replaced his fearful face with a brave one. Seeing an opportunity to pull a trick on the kaiju that could either allow him to slip away, or possibly kill him.

"So the king of monsters finally returns after all these years. What an honor." Adegast said, trying to butter up the monster king.

Godzilla merely snorted. His angry frown unchanged as he narrowed his eyes, and growled.

"Easy there, your majesty. I'm merely trying to make conversation." Adegast said, trying not to infuriate the monster anymore than he already is.

Godzilla wasn't buying it. He growled as he slowly marched towards the maniacal puppet master.

THOOM.

THOOM.

THOOM.

Adegast began to panic. There's got to be something to persuade him.

"Now hold on there, oh glorious king. Surely we can work out a negotiation so no one gets hurt, right? I can give you what you greatly desire in life." Adegast explained.

This only seemed to infuriate the kaiju king.

THOOM.

THOOM.

THOOM.

"There's nothing you can give that will make me spare your life." Godzilla snarled in anger.

"HE CAN TALK?!" Luz exclaimed loudly in shock.

"Well, yeah. Why's that a shock to you?" Eda asked.

"Because he never spoke back home." Luz answered.

"Wait, what?" Eda said, confused by the answer.

"I'll explain later." Luz said.

Adegast had finally decided to resort to more drastic measures as Godzilla marched towards him with an aura filled with killer intent.

"Alright you big lizard, I tried to be nice, but you've forced my hand. Now let's see what you desire!" Adegast said, creating mist with his magic.

The tentacled monstrosity disappeared within the smoke, vanishing from the monster's sight. Godzilla growled in agitation, and tried to sniff him out, but Adegast's scent seemed to be surrounding him.

Godzilla continued to search for his adversary in the mist, but it's proving to be unsuccessful. However, someone called out to him. Someone... familiar.

"... Dad?"

The voice made Godzilla freeze in place, which isn't an easy feat to do. Mainly because it's almost impossible!

He turned around to see a sight he'd never thought he'd see...

... dark green skin, and appearing as a smaller version of himself...

... Junior.

"Junior?" Godzilla questioned, not believing his eyes.

"Hey, Dad!" Godzilla 'Junior' greeted.

"Impossible..." Godzilla said.

"Not impossible here! We can be a family again. Isn't that great?" 'Junior' said.

Godzilla pondered this for a short moment. Key word: SHORT.

Godzilla may be a brute, but he's not stupid. In a quick moment, he gave his answer.

"No."

"What? But why, Dad?"

"Don't call me that, you damn dirty imposter!"

Godzilla's dorsal plates flashed, and he fired his atomic breath upon the puppet.

Once it became vaporized, Godzilla heard Adegast scream in pain, and it was revealed that one of his tentacles was attached to the Junior puppet.

Godzilla snarled with blind fury. How dare he try to imitate his son?!

SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOONK!!!

Adegast felt the roar vibrate his very being. He even felt the power, and rage behind it. Like an angry war god.

Godzilla quickly began to march his way towards the puppet master illusionist. His orange red eyes practically glowed with fury as his dorsal plates began to rapidly flash.

"AAAAAAH! Stay back you monster!" Adegast screamed in a fearful panic.

He used his remaining tentacles to defend himself the best he could, but Godzilla merely ripped them to shreds, and Adegast screamed in pain with each painful infliction.

SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNK!!!

Godzilla roared loudly as he rushed the puppeteer demon, ramming him back so hard that Adegast had dropped Luz, King, and Eda.

The three got up on their feet, and watched as the king of monsters began to ferociously claw at Adegast, making him bleed while he screamed in pain.

Godzilla then swung his tail, and the force of the tail was more than enough to send the puppeteer skidding back.

"YOU SHALL BECOME ASH AMONGST THE GROUND YOU WALK UPON!!!" Godzilla yelled with primal fury.

His dorsal plates flashed before he opened his sharp toothed maw, and unleashed his atomic breath upon Adegast.

Luckily, Adegast dodged the blast before it fried him. Unfortunately, he's far from safe.

Godzilla fired another blast, and when Adegast tried to dodge, the monster king followed his direction. The blast struck the left side of Adegast's face, burning it off in a spectacular display of violence, and gore.

Adegast howled loudly in sheer agony. While he was distracted with his pain, and grasping the now missing and burnt part of his face, he failed to brace himself from a raging monster.

Godzilla delivered a left hook, and knocked the puppeteer on his side. He then brought his left foot up, and proceeded to stomp on the right side of Adegast's face repeatedly.

"AH! PLEASE! MAKE IT STOP! I'LL DO ANYTHING! PLEASE!" Adegast cried out in anguish, not able to withstand the pain any longer.

Godzilla ceased his onslaught for a moment, and glared right into Adegast's good, yet swollen, eye with a fiery fury.

"Die." Was all Godzilla said to him.

His dorsal plates flashed once more, and he unleashed his atomic breath upon Adegast once more, incineratoring him to ash.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO—!!!" Adegast screamed in both fear and pain until he went silent.

Once the attack ceased, all that's left of Adegast... is a pile of ash and fire.

Godzilla brought his head back, and unleashed a victory roar.

SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNK!!!

The king then turned around to face the three individuals that still remained: Eda, King, and Luz.
