Chapter 7: Or Not

“Jeica, they’re headed for Shimea (That’s the name of the Xenomorph haven, the fishing planet)!” Garry warned her. They had been chasing the ship for days now, never catching up, instead they had fallen behind slightly. “They must be after the Xenomorphs!” Jeica drew in a sharp breath. Damn! She thought angrily. She hadn’t slept very much because even though Garry could drive perfectly well, she just couldn’t sleep knowing her friend was in danger. Her baby kicked at her stomach, not improving things. She knew that Xenomorphs matured a lot faster than humans, which probably meant their gestation period would be a lot shorter too, but she hoped to god its wouldn’t be born before this was all over. Alistair returned to the cabin after completing his tedious task of fixing a fuel leak. They couldn’t afford to lose any of the valuable substance, especially this close to catching their enemies, though in a couple of hours the Weyland ship would reach Shimea. Behind him was a Drone Xenomorph, who looked much like Advena only smaller. It was odd that Advena’s head was the same as that of a Drone, it was supposed to be ribbed, but when the Drone was asked about it, he told them to talk to Advena. This wasn’t really an option because she wasn’t doing too well. She had thrown a few rage fits, breaking more than one item of furniture in the process and didn’t really talk to anyone. Jeica had a feeling she was about ready to rip everyone’s head off until she found her mate. They were about half an hour behind the Weyland ship. She hoped they wouldn’t be too late.

“It’s a small fishing planet, mostly uninhabited. It’ll be a great place to set down and start a research lab,” Weyland told Bill.

“Small fishing planet... wouldn’t happen to be Shimea would it?” Bill inquired.

“Yes it is, why?” Bill cracked a smile.

“My mum grew up there.”

“Well my friend, many genetically-enhanced super-soldiers will follow in your mother’s footsteps.” They raised a glass of beer each and clinked them together in celebration.

“All thanks to your plan. It was a good idea to take Jake; his friends would follow him to the edge of the galaxy and back. More Xenos for us!” They laughed and downed their drinks merrily.

Why can’t we just kill him? His friends will never know!” Glover grumbled.

“Because if they see him, they will have hope and will walk more willingly into our trap. I wouldn’t expect a dim-wit like yourself to understand.” Glover growled at his boss, who hadn’t been dumb enough to give him complete freedom and power. A small explosive chip next to his brain prevented him from getting out of hand. And it was linked to Weyland’s heart. In essence, if Weyland died, so did Glover. Glover growled again, then rested his head back on the floor, powerless at the moment. The planet was huge as it loomed over them, they would enter its atmosphere in five minutes.

Jeica hastily set the ship down and slammed her hand on the cargo ramp’s open button. She, Mozart, Advena, Alistair and Kuala (his Xenomorph) charged out. They quickly raided the weapon shed that was cleverly hidden in the outskirts of the village. They heard gunfire in the distance and headed over there as fast as possible. They saw an elderly scientist holding Jake prisoner with a bunch of Colonial Marines surrounding them, shooting down trees apparently.

“Keep going! We need to set up this prison quickly! I don’t want to hold him for much longer!” In the distance, their ship could be seen lying idly on a rocky plateau a small distance away. The two humans and three Xenomorphs stepped out of the tree line into the clearing they had made. They raised their pulse rifles.

“Alright! Drop your weapons!” Jeica barked. The Colonial Marines took one look at them, then did what they were told. The scientist let go of Jake, who fell to the ground, breathing really heavily. He then stepped forward, hands raised and smirked evilly.

“Hello. I was expecting you to show up. Hey, do you by any chance remember Glover?” Jeica glared at him.

“Why?” she grunted.

“Well, he went through a bit of re-modelling lately. I just thought you might want to check out his new look.” The scientist raised an eyebrow. There was a loud thump behind them. The five of them spun around to see a huge Praetorian looming above them.

Hello babe,” he hissed to Jeica, and her alone. They all started firing their guns at him, but he bounded over to Jake and scooped his barely conscious body up in his giant arms, then scampered off to the ship.

“Get him!” Jeica shrieked. They ran past the three Weyland employees in the clearing. They ran up the ramp into the ship. It was dark and covered in Xenomorph resin.

“I have a bad feeling about this...” Alistair muttered.

Agreed,” Kuala nodded. She stood close to Alistair as if nervous he would be taken away from her. Mozart was doing the same to Jeica. Advena took the lead, fearless with her head held high. They heard an Xenomorph’s snicker echo throughout the ship, bouncing off the walls and down corridors, making it unclear where the source of the noise was.

Glover dropped down into the lab. He placed Jake on a nearby table, right next to his recent Chestbuster who had grown heaps in the few hours she’d been around. Much like her predecessor, she was a Warrior Xenomorph with the unusually smooth head. She scratched at the glass in rage, trying to reach her host. Through half-lidded eyes, Jake stared at her, slowly raising a hand to touch the glass. She placed her hand over his, the transparent wall the only thing between them and skin contact. Glover slapped his hand away, making the Xenomorph hiss at him. She cocked her head suddenly. Glover peered at her. What is she...?

Oh no you don’t!” he hissed. He slapped Jake, knocking him out, but the damage was done. The Xenomorph, as per Jake’s instructions, started screeching at the top of her lungs. Glover doubted the noise would have troubled reaching the ears of his enemies, so he smashed a hand through the glass and held her by the throat.

Jeica jumped as a loud, Xenomorph screech was heard. Then another, and some more. Jeica narrowed her eyes in suspicion; it was probably just Glover trying to lure them in. Then there was the distinct sound of shattering glass and the screeching stopped. Well, that wasn’t right. Jeica motioned for everyone to follow her towards the source of the screeching. They emerged in a brightly lit laboratory. Glover was there with his hands around the throat of an Xenomorph that looked a lot like Advena that was trapped inside a glass prison. Jeica bellowed a war cry and started emptying the remnants of her ammunition into the Praetorian before them. The rest quickly followed her lead. Advena threw her gun aside as it clocked empty and started charging at Glover. She latched onto his back and started laying into him. The whole time he’d been trying to get his hands out of the glass, which was quite hard when he was rushing it and in severe pain. Finally, he pushed forward, then slammed his hands back, shattering the glass completely. He yanked Advena off his back and threw her to the ground. He grabbed her spines in his fist, managing to snap them all off. She screamed in pain as the acid began to pool around her. Glover grinned manically and ran towards the rest, who all threw their guns aside and readied themselves, not that the humans could do much. Mozart jumped at Glover’s face and started clawing it frantically. Kuala went to his back and started chewing through his thick tail. Glover roared and tossed Mozart aside. He whipped his tail up, throwing Kuala up into the air. She dug her claws into the roof and stuck there. She stared at him upside-down and screeched angrily. Mozart picked himself up like an injured dog and woozily trotted over to Glover again. He collapsed onto the floor, unconscious. Kuala dropped from the ceiling directly onto his head. She started cutting into the seams where his crest met his face, making acid spray everywhere. Meanwhile, Alistair let the object in his hand slide down to the back of the tube Jeica was holding. Jeica placed it on her shoulder. Glover head butted the wall with poor Kuala crushed between him and the hard metal.

“Bastard!” Alistair yelled, pulling out a pistol and firing at Glover’s face. Glover swatted him away like and irritating fly and approached Jeica. He plucked the cylinder from her hands and tossed it away.

Hello Jeica. Now that we’re finally alone, maybe I can give you that love-making I promised you?” Jeica stared at the monster before her and placed a hand on her stomach. She had been so stupid to come along... she had put her own child in danger. Her eyes stung as she considered the possibility of engaging Glover sexually.

“Mozart is big enough for me thanks. I’d rather not be torn apart from the inside-out!” Glover snorted at her.

You’ll learn to love me... in time. Once Weyland gives you a new body like mine things will be different.” Jeica was glad that her pregnancy hadn’t reached the stage where she grew fatter, in fact, it probably never would; Xenomorphs were incredibly small when they were young, because Glover would have been incredibly jealous if he’d known. Perhaps enough to avoid reason and try and claim her as his then and there.

Have fun in hell. Don’t worry, you’ll learn to love it... in time!” an unfamiliar voice cried dramatically inside their heads. Glover half-turned before there was ponk followed by a high, squealing noise. An RPG slammed into the side of his face. It exploded and caved in half his face. The small explosive chip was set off in the process, destroying the rest of his brain and thankfully extinguishing the majority of the acid that had started to rain down. It seemed Weyland had designed the device so he wouldn’t be harmed if he was near it when he detonated it remotely, which he could do with a small remote he kept on him at all times. The unknown Xenomorph let the RPG Launcher clatter to the ground as the Praetorian’s body slowly keeled over like freshly cut timber. She scooped Jake up in her arms and exited the room silently. Jeica was too awestruck to object. Mozart stirred, so Jeica kissed him, full on the lips until he woke up.

J-Jeica?” he asked nervously. She pointed grimly at Advena’s unconscious body. He struggled with her larger build, but managed to find a position where he could carry her. Kuala emerged from somewhere, staggering from side to side. She picked up Alistair and started the journey to his home. Their home now. Jeica followed Mozart to Jake’s house. Jake and the mysterious Xenomorph weren’t there, so Mozart placed Advena on their bed and he and Jeica left her to sleep. They searched for Jake for a bit, before finding the Xenomorph on the beach trying to wake Jake up gently.

“That’s his house there,” Jeica told her, pointing. She nodded and carried Jake away. She slid an arm around Mozart. “I’m going to take a long, hot shower, then I’m going to sleep for three days. And you are not going to stop cuddling with me for even a second, understand?” Mozart smiled softly and nodded. “You know what? Screw the shower. I’m too tired for this shit. Let’s go home.” Mozart swept her off her feet and held her bridal style while he took her to their house. On the way, he told a few villagers to clean up any Weyland stragglers still on board the ship or on the island. At least fifty villagers headed out, each armed with some kind of weapon. Jeica collapsed onto their bed and Mozart dutifully curled up around her and snuggled up to her, gentle as a lamb. Needless to say, they both fell asleep in seconds.
