"Parvati! Good morning to my all time favourite person!" Ishan's energetic voice chimed in through Parvati Prabha's phone.

Parvati rolled her eyes in annoyance, still not moving on from last night. "Don't 'good morning' m after you and your dear bestfriend shit talked about Aaradhya!"

"What do you mean?" Ishan asked. Ishan, though being in the other side of the city, Parvati sensed that he was actually clueless. "Shubman just told me that Aaradhya was making him an idiot— she was switching her emotions quickly. Shubman ranted, and I listened."

"What the fuck does he mean that She was the one switching emotions quickly?" Parvati spat, anger taking over her. "Your friend is driving Aaradhya crazy from the day one by calling her a damn bit—"

"Shubman never called her that!" Ishan argued.

"Oh, don't act like a fool, Ishan!" Parvati went on, "I know what Shubman said to you in that phone call he did at their first ever fake date—"

"Holy Shit, Parvati!" Ishan suddenly interrupted. "You misunderstood the entire thing!"

That made Parvati pause. "What?"

"I actually didn't tell you something," Ishan said. "I used to date Shubman's cousin awhile back — and Zoya, his cousin, cheated on me with some guy. That happened when Shubman and Aaradhya went on their, you know, fake date. I hope this makes you understand that Shubman never actually called Aaradhya whatever you think he did—"

"I should've told you about it much earlier, but I am really sorry I didn't." Ishan's apologetic voice echoed through the cell phone, as Parvati tried her best to process every detail.

"And, please, Parvati, don't tell me that all this happened because of the phone call—" Ishan suddenly realised.

"Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Everything's not good." Parvati mutters, "I can't process this alone,"

"Wait, so you're telling me all this shit happened because Aaradhya and Shubman did not know a thing called communication existed?" Samira commented, making the others— Parvati and Meera— laugh.

"We should do something about this as fast as we can!" Parvati told, "Theri misunderstanding can't keep going on."

"But," Meera interrupted. "Aaradhya is extremely tied tight with her schedule at this moment. We can't just say it already— "

Parvati sighed, "I know but— we can't let their idiotic communication issues to get in the way of their relationship. They're clearly both into each other. Even a blind person can say that."

"I got an idea," Samira suddenly exclaimed.  "What if we get Aaradhya and Shubman in a room together— where it's just them. They obviously would at some point exclaim how they feel, especially Aaradhya, seeing how hectic she is right now."

"A murder would fall on the place where Aaradhya and Shubman meet," Parvati told, "Seeing how the two are stubborn fools they are, they'll definitely refuse to be with eachother at the same room,"

"No, Parvati," Meera said softly, "You are right but, what if they are forced to be at the same place— like you know, a situation where the two have no other way than be with eachother,"

"Well," Samira begins, "I might have an idea, but we can't do it alone."

samira just created a

when aaradhya

then, we have

they're not at good
terms rn

shreyas:
oh that is so
shubman of him

&& we should
also make sure
the meeting place
is farrrr from either
of them's home.

Everything was going according to the plan.

Aaradhya was at the park, faraway from either Shubman and Aaradhya's home. The weather was on their side too— it was like it might rain heavy that day.

Aaradhya patiently waited for Parvati to show up, so they could explore the new park. Aaradhya quite was rethinking her choices, seeing that the weather wasn't looking so good for a picnic at a garden.

Aaradhya sighed, took out her phone to only see that Parvati wasn't going to come to the park.

paru my love

paru:
i feel so sick
lile fuck it sucks

i am so sorry
aaru :(( i don't
think i am healthy
to join you today.

Some part of Aaradhya did not believe the texts— Fuck, she thought. Why am I not trusting my own friend words? What if she was lying and hanging out with others? What if they replaced me with some other person?

Aaradhya breathed in deep, No, she thought. It can't happen, they love me.

After a brief moment, Aaradhya responded to Parvati's text.

"Wait, so Parvati is sick?" Shreyas exclaims, to which Ishan nodded. The two eyed Shubman, trying to see if that guy gives any single reaction to their conversation— Unfortunately, there was none.

"Yes," Ishan informs, "Apparently, she was supposed to have a picnic date with Aaradhya— but they cancelled plans. Only thing is, Aaradhya is at their meeting spot. Doesn't know how to get back home too, it seems."

"What do you mean?" Shubman suddenly said. Ah, that caught his attention! Shreyas thought to himself silently.

Shreyas grinned internally, seeing the expression of surprise and concern on Shubman's face. He clearly cared about Aaradhya's well-being.

"Exactly what I said," Ishan replied nonchalantly. "Parvati canceled the picnic plan, and Aaradhya is stuck at the location with no way home. She doesn't know how to get back."

"Plus," Shreyas added, "It seems like it's going to rain soon. The weather isn't looking great, might be a storm incoming,"

Shubman's eyes widened in concern upon hearing Shreyas' words. A storm? Aaradhya being stuck in the rain all alone?

He couldn't help but feel a pang of worry for her safety. "You're kidding me. She's just stranded there?"

"And either of you aren't going to go get her back home?" Shubman asked, giving the two an glare.

"Well," Ishan gulped. "Parvati is sick, I need to go take care of her."

"And me—" Shreyas started, "I promised Samira that I would help her on this project she's working on— it's due next week too, I can't cancel those plans."

"I don't really think Samira would mind if you go and help her friend, Shreyas," Shubman told, his concern for Aaradhya growing in him. "Plus, it's your bestfriend's sister!"

Shreyas shrugged sheepishly, "Ah, you're right. But you guys should have seen the look in Samira's eyes when she asked me for help, I couldn't say no!"

Ishan rolled his eyes, "And how exactly am I supposed to leave Parvati here all alone when she's sick?"

"i will deal with you two later," Shubman snapped, an strange anger taking over him. Shooting an final glare, he went on his way to get pick up Aaradhya.

The two boys watched as Shubman stormed off, both feeling guilty now.

"I think we may have just pissed him off," Shreyas muttered, scratching the back of his head.

"Yeah," Ishan replied. "We could've died from the glare he gave us, Shrey,"

lmao just kidding

Shubman grew fond of Taylor Swift over the years he has heard of her. He fell for the lyricism of the female artist— especially finding himself in her songs created an solace within him during the difficult times.

I wait by the door like I'm just a kid
Use my best colors for your portrait

Rhythms of tolerate it echoed through out Shubman's car, as he drowned himself in the song and memories of him and Aaradhya flushed in.

Lay the table with the fancy shit
And watch you tolerate it

No matter what Shubman did — he never found himself ever being top of Aaradhya's prioritisation.

If it's all in my head tell me now,
Tell me I've got it wrong somehow

Probably he never would be Aaradhya's first choice or even last and Shubman must've been the one who messed it up. Never Aaradhya— the ever so loving person, his once love of the life. She still is.

I know my love should be celebrated
But you tolerate it

Shubman gave her his bests— checking up on her, supporting her every single time she fell, showered her with love, only to receive nothing but ignorance back.

Shubman gripped the steering wheel tightly as Taylor Swift's lyrics resonated with him, each line echoing his own inner thoughts and feelings. The words of 'tolerate it' stung, a painful reminder of how he felt in their relationship.

Despite his best efforts— the care, the support, the love he showed her— he realized that it never seemed to be reciprocated. He felt neglected, constantly trying to earn her affection while receiving only indifference in return.

Shubman gripped the steering wheel tightly as Taylor Swift's lyrics resonated with him, each line echoing his own inner thoughts and feelings. The words "tolerate it" stung, a painful reminder of how he felt in their relationship.

Despite his best efforts— the care, the support, the love he showed her— he realized that it never seemed to be reciprocated. He felt neglected, constantly trying to earn her affection while receiving only indifference in return.

"I can't believe myself," Shubman muttered to himself. "I am supposed to be ignoring her at all costs— yet here I am, on my way to bring her home."

"I was extremely cruel to her on my side, as well," Shubman thought, "I shouldn't have sent her the text, I shouldn't have told her that I was happy that the contract was getting over— but what else was I supposed to say?"

"I can't go telling her that I love her," Shubman continued to dwell on his thoughts, "Knowing exactly what she would say back."

Finding Aaradhya wasn't a tough job— but convincing her to get in the car was.

"It's going to rain soon, Aaradhya," Shubman said, "Please, being stubborn isn't going to get you anywhere."

Aaradhya looked up at Shubman, a mix of stubbornness and determination in her eyes.

"I'm perfectly fine here," she retorted, stubbornly crossing her arms. "I can wait till the rain passes."

Shubman sighed. "You have so many things up your schedule, remember? Being sick would technically ruin it all."

Aaradhya's expression shifted as Shubman mentioned her busy schedule. Her determination wavered a bit, and a flicker of uncertainty crossed her face.

"I... I know that," she muttered, her stubbornness starting to crumble. "But I can handle it."

As the sky lit up with a thunderous roar, Aaradhya suddenly froze, a hint of fear in her eyes. Maybe staying out in a thunderstorm isn't a wise idea.

Aaradhya finally gave in, found hersled sitting in the passenger seat. She eyed Shubman to start the car.

Shubman pointed out that she was not wearing her seatbelt— "Buckle up, will you? Or do I need to list out the safety measures you need to do in a car?"

Aaradhya rolled her eyes at his words, as she put on her seatbelt anyway.

The first few minutes were awfully quiet — a storm was brewing with both within Shubman and Aaradhya and also in the weather too, it seemed.

Shubman tapped his fingers on the steering wheels out of habit. Aaradhya sighed, "How long?"

"I don't know, to be honest," Shubman replied, his eyes fixed on the road.

Aaradhya stiffled a groan— anxiety and anger taking over her, second by second.

As the silence between them stretched on, Aaradhya's frustration began to build. She fidgeted in her seat, letting out an annoyed sigh.

"How long until we get there?" she repeated, her impatience growing.

Shubman shrugged, keeping his focus on the road. "I don't know," he replied, which only seemed to fuel her anger.

Aaradhya let out a frustrated groan, "Are we even going in the same route?"

"Yes," Shubman nodded, "Although, I am not sure anymore."

Aaradhya scoffed, "You can't give me a straight answer ever, will you?" Aaradhya folded her arms, "You are unpredictable, Gill,"

Shubman raised his eyebrows— his own anger fuelling at her words. He is unpredictable now?

"Oh please," Shubman said, stopping the car to face her completely. "Look at yourself before speaking, Kannan. You and your sudden mood swings,"

"It's now about me, Isn't it?"  Aaradhya retorted. "You lead me on into believing that you're some lovesick fool— and make me one too, and then show a completely different face to your friend. How dare you call me unpredictable as if you're the epitome of predicatablity?"

"I can't even deal with you, Shubman." Aaradhya huffed, she removed her seat belt and got off the car.

But Shubman wasn't done yet. What did she mean by saying 'show a complete face to his friend'?

Shubman got off the car too, catching Aaradhya by her wrist. Aaradhya raised her eyebrows at his sudden action.

"Won't leave me alone in peace, would you?" Aaradhya told, "Leave my hand, Shubman!"

"I won't," Shubman spoke firmly, "What do you mean I show a different face to my friend, Aaradhya Kannan?"

Aaradhya rolled her eyes, "Don't ever try fooling me, Shubman Gill. You went on telling Ishan that I— what lead you on by my mood swings? A delusional bitch? That too in our first date!"

Shubman's confusion grew, as slow drizzle of rain touched their skins. "Me? I never did that, Aaradhya! And to your mood swings? Oh please, admit it to the truth, Aaradhya. One day, you're completely normal to me, chatting and laughing to my jokes and the very next day — you're ignoring me as if the last day never ever happened."

"And, I would never ever call you a fucking delusional bitch, mind you," Shubman continued his rants. "I fell in love with you, Aaradhya Kannan. That is the only real thing that I have felt in my entire life time— and if calling my cousin a delusional bitch because she litreally cheated on Ishan and expected him to still follow her around was wrong

Then, you must've not known the situation well at all." Shubman went on, "Even after your constant ignorance and obvious some kind of hatred you have towards me and this fake dating thing ending too— I still am desperately in love with you—"

As the thunder roared through the sky, the air crackled with a mix of tension and unexpected emotions. In the midst of their heated argument, Shubman suddenly felt Aaradhya's soft lips touch his own.

For a moment, Shubman didn't know what to do— feeling a soft brush of Aaradhya's lips, as a basic human with emotions, he pulled her in closer and kissed her returning her the passion.

Aaradhya suddenly pulled away from their kiss— “I am sorry, I didn't know what to do— A— and I actually thought you hated me all along and just used me, I shouldn't have just kissed you but— knowing that you are in love with me, like the way I crazily fell for you ever since the moment I saw your text pop on my phone— I just couldn't resist it.

Shubman's face softened as he brushed Aaradhya's strand of hair aside and laid his index finger on hwe lips. “Stop apologizing, will you?”

“Yes but I don't think it would be enough since I was the one who was an idiot and began it all—”

Shubman interrupted her, “Love, why can't we just keep the conversation later and focus on the moment?”

And that was when Aaradhya noticed she was completely drenched in the rain. “Right, it's raining.

“Get in the car, will you?” Shubman requested her, a small smirk forming in his lips. “We will talk it all later, Aaradhya,”

“Yeah,” Aaradhya nodded. The two got back into the car — the initial tension disappeared, instead an atmosphere of the cool wind and care took over.

“So,” Aaradhya began. “I know a nice café near by,”
