"So y/n... what are you doing for your birthday?" A girl leaned over while we were doing our daily worksheets
"Umm, I don't know yet. I just figured id do something small." I shrugged and looked back at my paper
"Small?" She snorted "That's not how I remember your birthdays."
"Well I guess it's just different now."
"You're only gonna be 17. You're not a changed woman." She chuckled
"Whatever." I tsked and shook my head feeling my anger start to bubble over.

I finally felt free as the bell rang and I stepped out of the building. I pulled out my phone to text the group chat I had with all the Pevensie kids.
I had become particularly close with them after we all had an encounter with Narnia. It started when I was watching Susan get bombarded by the worst flirting I've ever seen when Lucy rushed us to the station. Peter had gotten into yet another fight, no doubt he'd show up to school with a black eye tomorrow, and Edmund just had to step in. After the fight had broken up, the air in the station started to change. Everything felt electric and before I knew it I was in a whole different world.
The Pevensies had been there before but I was new. It was so weird to see everyone in ancient clothes. But I will not deny that Peter looked fantastic in all leather.

✨Magic Gang✨

Y/n/n- Hey, do yall want to meet up and discuss my birthday plans?

Nerd- Sure
Sweet Angel- Wanna just head to our house?
Emo-I have an after school thing so just start without me
Y/n/n- damn :(

His majesty- my teacher is talking to me so I'll be a little late
Y/n/n- ugh y'all suck

Emo- You have Susan and Lucy
Y/n/n-yeah that's only 2 of the Pevensie kids. That's a 50%! A fail!

His majesty- You should know a lot about failing Ed.
Emo- Shut up
Nerd-Just make your way over y/n. Lucy and I are almost home
Y/n/n- sounds good <3

I clicked off my phone and shoved it in my sweater pocket. Fortunately for me their house was close to the school so it was just a short walk. I walked slowly, watching the trees and seeing all the animals scamper around. I looked at those who were walking along the street and cars that passed by.
"Y/n!" I heard a voice. I turned to see Peter running to catch up. He slowed when he got to me and panted. He sucked in a huge breath and sighed
"I can't believe I actually caught up to you."
"That's pretty impressive! Although not as impressive as your swordsman skills."
"That's me in a different life." He shrugged
"I think you suit being king really well."
"Really?"
"Yeah." I smiled "i mean You're trying to be a politician in this life and a politician and king are virtually the same thing."
"I think High King on Narnia in 2303 and newbie politician in 2023 in England are two very different positions." He smiled at me.
I bumped into him playfully
"You know what I mean." I glanced at him sharply
He just laughed and looked down at my hand. He reached his pinky out and grabbed mine.
I grasped his hand in mine and felt my face flush.
"So what are you planning for your birthday?"
"I don't really know. I wanted to do something small but I have no idea what."
"Small? That's not like you."
"Is it really that surprising that I don't want a massive party?"
"No. I'm just saying it's different."
"I know." I sighed. "I'm just tired of big parties."
"That's alright. We can figure out what to do when we get home."

We stepped onto the porch and Peter let go of my hand to unlock the door.
"We're home." He called the girls and presumably his mom
I set my bag down and took off my shoes. Peter did the same and walked into the living room where Susan and Lucy were sat.
"Hey we are here."
"Oh great. That means we can start on y/ns birthday." Lucy said and pulled out her pencil pouch.

It had been an hour, Lucy was now coloring in all the designs she had made for ideas.
We were all on the floor, some of us on our stomachs some of us on our backs. Edmund had shown up a couple minutes ago, pretty much only joining us for the snacks.
I picked up my phone and flipped onto my back. I checked my messages and texted my parents that I'd be home late. I could feel peters gaze burning into my face.
"Yes?" I asked not even breaking my gaze from my phone.
"Nothing, just looking."
"Take a picture, it'll last longer." I sassed. He pulled his phone from his back pocket and snapped a picture.
"Beautiful." He smiled as he reviewed his work. I scoffed.
"You're so annoying." I pushed his phone away.
"You wanted me to!"
"Because you can't keep your big blue eyes off of me." I laughed and flipped onto my stomach.

The next day was going as normal as possible until two girls who I talked to quite often walked up to me.
"Hey, what are you planning for your birthday?"
"Oh just something small. I'm planning on having a magic theme. It's based off a place I went to last year."
"Oh really? Where? Italy? Ireland? America?"
"No it's a place called Narnia. It was really cool. They had mermaids and fairies and centaurs. There's royalty and it's all run by a lion named Aslan."
The girls looked at me with a sour face and started to laugh.
"You're good! I mean I really believed it for a while there."
"No I'm serious. It actually happened."
"Okay whatever." They looked at me like I was disgusting. They turned on their heels and walked away
"Could you actually believe that? She's so weird. I can't believe that..."
I felt my chest tighten when I realized no one would ever believe me except for the Pevensies.

I spent my day knowing that no one would come to my party this year. But I just missed it. I missed how it was always perfect outside. I missed my friends from Narnia. I miss seeing how Caspian and Susan looked at each other. I miss how Peter and I looked at each other. It was different now. This world is boring.
"Hey." A voice pulled me out of my daze.
I turned to see another friend
"Yeah?"
"I heard that you went crazy today. Talking about some fake place you said you went to."
"I did go there."
"Whatever. You're nuts." She laughed.
I huffed and tried to go back to listening to the lesson.

My birthday was tomorrow and I now had no motivation for a party. The entire day I was being laughed at. People had started talking about how crazy I was.
I felt so relieved when school was over. I ran home and changed out of my school clothes. When I was finally settled in I started to cry. The entire day just came crashing down.
The doorbell rang and I felt even worse. I walked down and opened the door hesitantly.
"Oh Peter. Hey." I wiped my eyes
"Hey. I heard about what happened today. Can I come in?"
"Uh yeah sure." I stepped out of the way and let him in.
"Look, Lucy went through the exact same thing so I know how you feel right now. I could stay and cheer you up."
"I really appreciate it Peter but you don't have to."
"I know. I want to."
I just nodded and he took off his shoes.
I sat down on the couch throwing the blanket back over myself and resuming the tv show I was watching.
Peter sat down next to me and sighed. I didn't even look at him, I just rested my head on his shoulder and relaxed my body. He threw his arm over my shoulders and rubbed my arm.
"I'm sorry this is happening to you." He whispered to the top of my head
"It's alright. No one can convince me that Narnia wasn't the greatest thing to happen to me. Besides you of course." I whispered and picked at the blanket.
He just hummed in content. He ran his fingers up and down my arm breathed slowly. After ten minutes of cuddling I stopped caring about the show and closed my eyes. It was the first time today where I didn't feel horrible. He was warm and soft. He smelled like fresh linen and peppermint. No doubt his parents doing. But I actually found myself falling asleep.

When I woke up I was alone. The sun had risen and Peter was gone. I assumed he left after I fell asleep. I found my phone mixed into the couch and blankets and saw a text

His majesty
Hey, I left a little while after you fell asleep. I didn't want to keep you up. I hope you're not mad and doing better this morning. Just make it through school today and we can party it up tonight! Just us and my siblings! <3
I felt a little better. My heart fluttered at the text and I smiled.
Maybe I could make it through the day. I shot back a text quickly and got ready

Y/n/n- I'm not upset you left! Thanks for staying with me last night. Made me feel a lot better.

His majesty- no problem

His majesty-And happy birthday <3

When I made it to school I kept my head down and my eyes low. I didn't hear anyone laughing or talking about me so I assumed it would all blow over soon.
The day went by super slow and I couldn't wait to be done. It was Friday so not only was it my birthday but it was also the weekend. Any other year that would have solidified my massive party but this year not so much.
The day was over and I went home to get changed for dinner. Last minute everyone had plans so we decided on an early dinner and presents. I got changed and Peter came to pick me up.
I got in his car and he put a party hat on me.
"There's the birthday girl! Are you ready?" He cheered.
"It's just dinner." I laughed and took the hat off.
"Put that hat back on right now!"
"Holy Aslan! Fine!" I scoffed and put the hat back on.
"Perfect." He nodded
"So where are we going?"
"It's a secret."
"I hate secrets."
"I know but just this once trust me."
"Fine fine." I sat back and watched as the streets passed. The sun was going down and the streets were emptying of people. Peter pulled into a rustic looking buildings parking lot.
"This looks like where I die."
"You're not gonna die. Just shut up and get out."
"So bossy. Damn."
I hopped out of the car and followed him into the restaurant.
The front hallway was lined with yellow lights along the ceiling. There were leaves and petals along the floor.
"What is this place?" Peter turned around and asked for my hand.
"Peter where are we?" I laughed and took his hand.
He lead me out the back door and into the courtyard.
The trees looked exactly like the ones from narnia. Susan Edmund and Lucy were dressed in clothes like the ones in narnia.
"What is this?" I felt my chest get tight
"This is your birthday celebration." Edmund smiled.
"What? I thought we were just doing dinner."
"We are doing dinner, and presents, and cake, and dancing and music." Susan explained.
"So this whole thing was an excuse to get me here?"
"Pretty much." Lucy chirped and walked over to the cake table. "Take a look."
I walked over to the cake that looked exactly like one we had in Narnia at the castle.
"It all looks exactly like Narnia."
"We know you've been feeling sad about not being there. So we wanted to bring as much of it to you as possible."
"You guys are so brilliant. Thank you."
Lucy turned around and played flute music on the speakers.
The trees lined with lights looked like fairies and the smell in the air was the same.
"Can we please do cake?" Edmund asked. "If it tastes anything like it did there I need it."
We all sat down and enjoyed cake and other small things to nibble on.
After a while we got to presents.
Edmund got me a journal so I can write my memories of Narnia in them. Susan got me some scholl supplies and a couple of accessories. Lucy got me a dagger that looked a lot like the one I had in Narnia. And Peter got me a necklace. On the back it had a phrase on it.

I still couldn't believe I was here. In this weird world. It was astounding that a place could be so... well... magical. There was not a dead leaf or unruly patch of grass. But it was almost too quiet. There were no animals. The stream was quiet as it gurgled through rocks but the water was crystal clear.
"This is not how I remember any of it." Peter said in disappointment.
"Well how long did you say you've been gone?"
"About... 1300 years."
"Well that would explain it. Environments can completely shift over that time."
"Yeah yeah I know."
"Just saying." I shrugged and continued to high step through the meadows. As I took another step my foot caught on a vine. I took a tumble with my fleeting breath but I didn't kiss the ground. I looked back to see Peter holding my arm.
"You alright?" He asked as he propped me back up.
"Yeah I'm good. Thanks." I sighed and straightened out my dress.
"No problem."
"You just really are always there huh." I chuckled
"I'll always be there to catch you."

"I'll always be there to catch you." I read aloud. "Peter it's beautiful."
"I'm glad you like it."
"Okay well should we get some dancing in?" Susan asked as she cleared her throat.
"Yes." Lucy said excitedly.
We all got up and cleared our things. We stood in the open space and found some more upbeat festival music that sounded similar to the music we listened to in Narnia.
We danced around each other, giggling as we tried to remember the moves we learned in Narnia. We would hook arms and run around in a circle. The dancing became more sporadic as the music got faster. We continued to clap and spin around. The music got faster and the sky got darker. The lights seemed to get brighter and my feet got quicker. The song ended abruptly and I heaved as my body tried to catch up.
"Oh my god okay I gotta stop. I'm dying." I sat down on the closest bench.
"That was so fun. I forgot how much I missed that."
"It was pretty great." Peter laughed as he sat next to me. He was wearing a pale blue shirt much like the one he wore when we left. He looked so perfect always. The yellow lights on the side of his face didn't make him any less perfect either.
"Thank you for tonight Peter."
"It wasn't just me."
"I know. Just... thank you." I leaned over and kissed his cheek. He looked down at me with a soft gaze.

Third pov
Susan Lucy and Edmund were at the table cleaning things off and Edmund groaned.
"God I wish they'd just kiss and get it over with. It's so annoying watching them dance around each other."
"I think it's sweet. He really likes her Ed." Susan squished her brows at the two who were staring at each other.
"Do you think youll ever love someone like that Ed?"
"God I hope not. That's just too much."
"Oh come on. You will. And youll forget about being so grumpy all the time." Susan jabbed his side with her elbow.
"Nothing could ever make him not grumpy." Lucy mumbled which earned her a slap on the head from Edmund.
"Come on. They can finish up. Let's go home." The three of them tidied up and then set out for the night. Peter and y/n still sat on the bench talking to each other.

First pov
Peters eyes were glowing in the light. He was talking about some memory which I was not listening to.
"Can I be honest with you?" I blurted out.
"Oh. Uh, yeah. What is it?"
"I'd really like to kiss you. I mean if you're okay with it. You're just so pretty and if I didn't ask I'd never forgive myself. There were so many times in Narnia when I wish I had but I was too scared. So can i?"
"Yeah." He smiled and leaned closer. I cupped his face with my hands and pressed my lips to his. It was not a quick kiss. As the kids went on, Peter pulled me into his chest and held me closer.
I pulled away slowly and fluttered my eyes open.
I rested my head on his chest and smiled.
"I really like you." I mumbled into his collar bone.
"I like you too y/n. I'm so glad we finally made a move."
I looked back up at him and smiled. I gave him a quick kiss and my face turned red. I couldn't remember the last time I was ever this nervous around anyone. But he didn't make me a bad nervous, he made me a good nervous. A nervous that was excited for new things. A nervous that was meant to show you how much you really care for someone. I loved being nervous for him.
After some cuddling on the wooden bench that was now becoming uncomfortable, we got up and decided to finish cleaning. After the place was emptied we shoved all the decorations into the back of his car and he drove me home.
He parked and walked me to my door.
"Sure you don't want a huge party? It could still happen." He joked
"Absolutely not. I had the perfect night tonight and I wouldn't want to ruin it."
"The perfect night?"
"Yeah."
"Nothing could have gone better?"
"I don't think so? Why? Did you have something else in mind?"
"Well I was wondering if the perfect night for you would be me asking you to be my girlfriend at the end of night."
"Really?" I giggled and got all giddy.
"Yeah." He smiled and leaned down.
He pushed my chin toward him with his index finger and thumb.
"I'd like that." I nodded grabbing the flow of his shirt.
"Yeah?" He asked in a low, rough but excited voice.
"Mm hmm." I nodded and kissed him deeply. It was another long kiss. I really didn't want it to ever stop. He just made me feel so tingly.
After we parted I rested my hand on his chest.
"Okay I should probably go in."
"Okay. Have a good night, love."
"Have a good night."
I stepped in and closed the door. After a second I pulled out my phone and texted him.

Y/n/n- see you monday?
His majesty- Yes love
