Peter and I walked, holding hands as we entered the garden of his family's house. They were all sitting under a gazebo talking and laughing. Mother's Day was always special. Ever since I started dating peter, Mother's Day really was a day for me to connect with his mom.
We both sat down and I pushed my dress over my legs to be polite.
"Well happy Mother's Day!" I said to his mom as I handed her a card.
"Well thank you y/n." Susan and Lucy peered over their moms shoulder as she opened the card.
"Read it out loud." I suggested.
"Happy Mother's Day to the best mother in law I could have. You're gratitude and kindness is all I could have asked for. Again happy Mother's Day and I can't wait to celebrate Mother's Day with you next year. You're gonna have to share the mother limelight now."
"OH MY GOD YOURE NOT!!" Susan squealed.
"What? I don't get it." Her mom furrowed her brows.
I broke out into a wide smile as I looked at Susan.
"OH MY GOD! I'm gonna cry!!" Susan started to fan her face.
"Read it again." I told her mom.
She read it again and it clicked in her mind. Lucy and her mom both got it and they started crying. They all hugged me and peter.
"Oh my god I can't believe you're gonna have a baby!"
Peter hugged me and kissed my forehead as he smiled.
His mom looked at him and clasped her hands together as she cried.
"Oh peter you are gonna be a great dad." She cooed.
"I hope so."
"So how far are you?" Susan asked.
"About seven weeks."
"Oh So you've known for a while!" Lucy gasped.
"Yeah." I nodded.
"I can't believe it!" Mrs. Pevensie laughed and jumped up and down.
"I can't either." I smiled
"Okay you need to sit down! I gotta go get you some water! You shouldn't be doing this much! You gotta take care of yourself!" Mrs. Pevensie sat me down and I laughed as she rushed to get me a glass of water.
"Mom she's fine! She's not dying!" Susan rolled her eyes.
"Trust me, I've already gotten all of this from peter." I laughed as I sipped the water from the clear cup.
"My family is insane!" Susan scoffed.
I couldn't help but giggle at Susan being annoyed at how protective they were of me.
"When are you due?" Mrs. Pevensie was so invested.
"December."
"A CHRISTMAS BABY?!!?" Lucy squealed.
"Hopefully." I nod.
"Wow we are so blessed!!" Mrs. Pevensie couldn't contain her excitement.
"Sweetheart are you sure you're the one having the baby and not mum? She seems way too excited for it to not be hers." Peter laughed as he placed his hands on my shoulders.
"I think she's more excited then I was." I smiled.
"Forget about me now on Mother's Day! I've had my share! It's time for new blood!" Mrs. Pevensie laughed.
We spent the rest of the day gawking over baby stuff and when Edmund showed up, Peter had the privilege of telling Edmund.
We had all devised a plan to think about memories and then peter would tell him.
"Hey Ed, remember when you got mad and said 'you think you're dad, but you're not'."
"Yeah that wasn't my finest moment."
"Well I may not be dad but I am a dad."
Edmund spit out his water.
"You WHAT?"
We all laughed.
"You-you're pregnant!" Edmund pointed to me excitedly.
I nodded vigorously and he jumped up and cheered.
"YES!!! IM GONNA BR AN UNCLE!" Edmund shouted and then jumped in the pool.
"Okay moms was great but this is the best reaction I've ever seen." Lucy giggled.
I buried my head in my hands and convulsed as I laughed silently.
"What did I get myself into?" I laughed as I questioned.
"Hey, you live for this family!" Peter smiled.
"I really do." I nodded. Peter kissed me passionately.
I couldn't wait for this family to start.
