If fate tore us apart

Peter and Y/n were the it couple. They were beautiful, they were strong, they complimented each other physically and mentally, they were just as perfect of a couple as a fairy tail place could have.
And considering they were the perfect couple obviously they took walks together through the enchanted woods.

Your pov
Peter grasped my hand as he led me through the woods. The sun was setting which made it a perfect time for our cool down walk. Peter and I liked to go out on walks after dinner to discuss our day and talk about anything the other didn't know about.
Today was a pretty long and strenuous day meaning Peter and I barely got to see each other. Since we had been apart all day we had a lot to talk about.
"So did you tell him what Edmund said about the colors?" I asked him as I tuned back into his rambling
"No I didn't get to it. I was going to when he asked me to send out a letter to his regime in the north, but I never got to it. You don't think he'd be mad if we ended up going for these new colors right?"
"Why not? He'd be making money since he'd be the sole supplier of the ingredients."
"I guess that's true. Anyway, what's been going on with you?" He asked me with a slight tilt in his head
"Not much. Susan and I took over financials today and spread out our limits for the year. We are doing great by the way. And if all goes to plan we should have enough for our yearly ball."
"Perfect. I knew you two could do it."
"You have the best." I gloated, fluttering my lashes with a slight pout.
Peter let go of my hand and started to pick up pace.
"Come catch me." He played and started to dodge and weave through the trees. I picked up my dress to keep it from snagging on anything and chased after him.
"I'm gonna get you!" I laughed. He moved faster, starting to leave my field of vision. After about five minutes of chasing he was completely gone from view and ear shot.
"Peter?" I asked with a laugh searching around. The woods had gotten darker since the sun was mostly set.
"Peter!" I called again getting a little worried. My blood started pumping and my fingers started to tingle. I dropped the crumpled dress fabric from my hands and looked around. "Okay Peter it's getting too dark to mess around. Come on out."
I started searching more frantically. After a second of panic I heard a bush rustle. I knew it was him so I walked over.
"Okay Peter I found you come on out."
But it wasn't Peter. Two people whom I didn't recognize jumped out and grabbed me by the wrist. I quickly bent down and tucked my dress on a branch hoping it would rip. They quickly tied my hands and feet and one, much larger than the other, threw me over their shoulder.
I let out a loud scream and tried to hit but they didn't budge.
"Peter!" I shrieked.
"Hey! Shut it!" The other guy growled and stuffed a piece of fabric into my mouth to keep me quiet.
After that my body went into overdrive and it was hard to remember the rest of the night.

Peters pov
I was running for a while, laughing while I crossed trees and bushes. When i started to not hear y/ns feet behind me I slowed down. I looked back, the darkness of the sun fading made the woods look ominous, and struggled to see any signs of my girlfriend behind me.
I furrowed my brows and walked back in the direction of where I once was. I still couldn't find her. I looked around and noticed a small patch of fabric on a low hanging branch. It was part of y/ns dress.
I couldn't imagine she would try to rip her dress to get out. It's happened once or twice before and before she just waited for me to come over and help her get the branch out. She adored her dresses very much and would never intentionally rip them.
After making that realization, my blood ran cold. She would never intentionally rip her dress... unless she knew I'd see it.
I cursed to myself and stood up. I looked around for any other signs of struggle. All I found were some patted mats of grass around the area. I tried my best to track the direction but it was hard in the dark. My best guess was they were on foot since it didn't seem like there were any horse clearing marks.
I cursed again and ran back to the castle. I threw open the doors to the throne room where a meeting was going on.
"High King," one of the guest from a far kingdom introduced and stood up.
"Peter." Susan greeted as she stood up as well "where's y/n?"
I looked at Susan giving her a look of worry.
"Peter where is y/n?" She asked again more seriously "what happened? What's wrong?"
"Someone took her. Send a search party."
"Took her? Who? When?" Edmund questioned and stood up as well.
"I don't know who. But we were on a walk. We got separated and I found this." I held up the fabric and everyone else knew.
"She's been taken. We need to gather a search party. Check to the borders." Edmund rallied some of the guys of the meeting who were captains of the army.
"We can't go searching now." Susan objected
"Why not?" Peter raised his voice.
"It's too dark. If you're spotted with lights and an army you'll be targeted. Clearly who's ever taken her knows who she is."
"The queen is right." A general spoke up. "I've dealt with this before. They most likely know that she's valuable to the royal family. She'll be used as a pawn in whatever game or deal they want. I have very little reason to believe they will kill her overnight."
"And what if they do?" Peter challenged his regime.
"They won't. I'll bet my life on it your highness."
"I'll hold you to it."
"So what do we do in the meantime?" Another general asked
"Gather troops. We need numbers and we need wits. Someone who's good at the game of strategy. I have a very strong feeling I know who's behind this." Edmund growled

Third pov
Peter, Susan, Lucy and Edmund sat in peters tent, at aslans camp, going over the plan
"So do you really think it's the white witch?" Lucy asked meekly.
"It has to be. She's the only one who would be dumb enough to take her. But she also has a motive. She could use y/n for whatever deal she wants to strike."
"Whatever it is we have to accept."
"You never know what she could ask for. You could pay a big price." Edmund warned
"Well y/n is priceless so it doesn't matter." Peter started to get upset with his siblings. No one understood how important she was except him. Peter threw open the tent flap and walked out. When he looked up from the ground he saw one of Jadiss henchmen being surrounded by guards
"I bring a message for the peasant boy they call Peter."
"You mean our High King?"
"That child has no royal status. The only royalty is the Queen of Narnia."
"She has no authority here." A guard growled.
"Oh but she does. Because she has that boys little girlfriend." He sneered.
At Peter hearing that they have y/n he unsheathed his sword and pointed it at the messenger.
"Where is she?"
"She's with the queen." He spat.
"Give her back or I'll run you through."
"I'd rather die to the hands of the queen."
"You're sick. Tell me your message and leave before I kill you." Peter was fibbing the whole time. He would have never killed him but he was hoping no one else knew that. The rest of the pevensies now joined Peter at his side.
"The Queen demands a duel in place of the returned girl. You versus the queen herself. Tonight at sundown. Do you accept?" He smirked.
"Don't do it Peter. It's a trick." Edmund growled keeping his eyes on the enemy.
Peter looked at Edmund and then at his sisters.
Susan and Lucy both nodded in support of the decision they knew Peter already made.
"Tell the white witch to expect to die when we duel." Peter spat and shoved him off with the tip of his sword. "Take him away." Peter commanded the guards.
They all shoved off the dwarf with a grumble and Peter exhaled with worry. He was keeping his composer for so long when he finally relaxed he almost fell over.
"You can do this Peter. You're strong." Lucy cheered her older brother.
"Come on. Let's get you prepared." Edmund supported Peter with his weight and ushered him off to his tent.
It wasn't known by anyone other than the Pevensie boys what was said in the tent before the duel, but everyone hoped it was enough to make Peter win.

Your pov
The day had been long, most of the creatures here stunk and made horrendous noises or bodily functions out in the open. Around me there were weapon makers, cooks, and soldiers. This place didn't look much of a camp but more like a battle ground. The tree I was tied to started to burn my arms. The friction of bare skin on bark did not feel good. I was hungry and my muscles were sore from the uncomfortable position I was in. I had to beg for water throughout the day but what I got still wasn't enough.
"Please. Can't I just have a single piece of bread?" I asked a passerby who ignored me. I slumped forward, defeated from the sleepiness and hunger. Not only was I hungry but I also hadn't slept due to the fear of being in enemy territory. Who knows what they could do to me. I figured not much since I was important to the royal family and they'd need me for bargaining but still, what they could do wouldnt hurt any less than killing me.
"Get up." A voice snapped from behind me. I tried to stand up but having my arms behind my back made it difficult. The witch grabbed me by the shoulder and pulled me up. "You really are useless." She quietly shamed.
"Too bad you're pretty boy's. You'd make a beautiful princess of Narnia. You're almost pretty enough to pass as my daughter."
"I would rather die." I spat.
She laughed and looked into my soul
"That might just happen if I kill your little boyfriend in todays duel. Did you know he accepted? To duel me?"
It was my turn to laugh.
"If you think you're going to kill him in a duel, you're the dumb one."
"We will see about that." Her voice dripped in anger.
The ropes holding me to the tree were cut so I could be moved to another tree closer to an open area that looked prepared for the duel.
"Please get here quick Peter. I need you." I whispered into the air.

Peters pov
It was sundown and we were close to the grounds. Everyone was on edge wondering the outcome of the duel. I had a small party accompany me to the duel to watch. I looked at Susan and Edmund who nodded signalling they knew the plan.
"Get in, get her, get out. Got it?" He's whispered
"Got it." Susan agreed.
We found ourselves staring at the battle space and the white witch was at the other end. The tents of the camp behind them were filled with watchers who were doing their jobs.
Some welding, some sharpening weapons, some feeding soldiers. They were all there to see this battle.
I looked around to see if he could find his princess but he couldn't. There was smoke and the lights from flames against the fading sun made it hard to see that far.
"Peter!" I heard a familiar voice call.
Y/ns hands were bound to a tree but she was straining to get closer to me.
I broke for the tree but was stopped by two very large henchmen who were probably half troll.
"Where do you think you're going?" One asked before ushering me back to the battle ground.
The white witch was staring at me intensely as she pulled out her staff. The end of her magic staff shimmered despite the rapidly disappearing sun, alerting me of the magic inside.
"Peter you can do this. Just give us long enough to get to her and get her out." Edmund whispered. I just nodded keeping my gaze on the witch.
"Are you ready or what?" She shouted from across the arena.
"Ready to watch you die." I spat back and put down the guard on my helmet.

Third pov
Peter and the witch stepped into the bounds and locked eyes. The alarm sounded which started the duel. Peter and the witch ran at each other, attacking and dodging. Peter ran through all the strategies Edmund had taught him.
Susan and Edmund had slowly sunk back into the ground of their people before slinking into the woods. They circled the woods and came out the other side. Edmund walked around back of the camp and tipped over a barrel that held a small fire. It caught up to a tent that started to light up.
People from that side of the camp got up and tried to squelch the fire.
Y/n watched as Peter started to falter. Jadis smacked Peter with the back of her hand causing him to lose balance. He fell to the floor and jadis tried to stab him with her staff. He rolled and tried to regain his footing.
"Come on Peter! Fight!" Y/n screamed.
Susan ran to the tree and started to cut with Lucy's dagger she borrowed.
"Susan!" Y/n cheered.
"Shhh! Shh! You can celebrate when we get out of here." Susan hushed the girl and tried to cut faster. Edmund snuck over to the tree and started cutting as well. When the rope finally snapped they all scrambled to the woods to hide.
It wasn't long after the tent fire had dissipated that the people realised y/n was gone.
"Search the grounds! Find the girl! She couldn't have gone far!"

Peter found himself on his feet again face to face with the witch. His shoulder was hurting but he kept going just thinking of y/n being back with him. He threw another swing of his sword at her clipping her cheek. She stopped for a moment, touching the blood dripping down her pale skin and examining her fingers. When she saw she was actually bleeding her eyes narrowed. She couldn't believe he actually had gotten that close.
"You're going to die today." She snarled and swiped at him again with her staff. Peter swing his sword shattering the end of it. She screamed in anger and swung more frequently and intensely. She threw Peter off his footing. He tripped and fell, hitting his head on the ground.

Y/n wanted to leap out of the bushes and help but Edmund grabbed her arm and pulled her back in.
"No! Stay here. He can do it."
As if to prove Edmund wrong, the witch slammed down her broken staff into peters shoulder.
He cried out and tried to pull it out of his shoulder. She yanked the weapon out, the blood from his shoulder coated the broken blue crystal of her staff. She started to feel the victory. She raised the staff again, Peter was too tired to move away, but as she started her attack again she was knocked off her feet. The crowd gasped as Aslan pinned Jadis to the ground.

"Go go!" Edmund rushed the two hiding girls from their spot and to the arena. He saw aslan was there and things would be more under control. Y/n picked up the tattered and dirty skirt of her dress to book it for Peter.
"Peter!" She shouted as she ran across the field. He had become motionless on the ground. The wound in his shoulder was bleeding heavier and a pool of crimson had engulfed him.
"Peter!" Y/n fell to her knees and cradled him. "Peter come on. Stay with me. Keep your eyes open."
"Lucy! You're cordial!" Edmund demanded. Lucy ran to his side and placed a drop into peters mouth. Peter was still, his family watching him to see if it would work. Y/n rested her head on peters and rocked him
"Come back to me Peter." Y/n whispered into his ear and kissed his sweaty hair
After a moment Peters eyes opened and he started to breathe again.
"It worked!" Susan cheered.
"Peter!" Y/n readjusted him and hugged him tightly.
"Ah, my arm." He complained.
"Sorry sorry." She apologized.
They helped him get up and walked him over to a stone bench. Edmund kneeled beside him and inspected his arm.
"Looks broken still."
"I guess it can only do so much." Lucy hummed as she looked at her potion.
Edmund wrapped peters arm and gave him a sling. Y/n had loomed nervously over Peter the whole time. Edmund, after he was finished, looked up to y/n.
"I'll leave you two to talk."
Y/n took a seat next to Peter and rested her head on his shoulder.
"I was worried about you." She hummed feeling his warmth against her cheek.
"I was worried about you." Peter replied. "You got kidnapped."
"It wasn't all bad." She tried to downplay the experience hoping Peter wouldn't freak out. All she cared about now was a shower and a good meal. "I was scared that i wouldn't see you again though."
Y/n mumbled her truth as she picked at the twigs in her dress.
Peter looked at her resting head. He moved her chin with his thumb and index finger so she could look at him.
"I will always be there for you, y/n. I will never stop fighting for your happiness."
Peter caught y/ns lips in his own and reassured her with a soft but deep kiss.

The family found themselves back at the palace wandering around on an uneventful night.
Y/n found Peter on the balcony and asked if he'd like to go out on a walk.
"Sure but... lets stick to the beach. I'm still nervous about the woods." He reminded her.
"Okay." She grabbed his hand and pulled him down to the shore. The sun started to set on the couple as they took their slow stroll down the beach. The mermaids played in the shallow water and there were still bird sounds of the day.
Peter was walking ahead of y/n slightly. He turned on his heel to face her. He grabbed her hands and pulled her in. She leaned in for one small kiss that turned into many small kisses.
"I really like being here with you." Y/n whispered.
"I think you're what makes this enjoyable." He complimented and kissed her forehead.
The couple stopped, they wrapped their arms around each other and watched the sun disappear behind the water. The wind had picked up as the day grew old. Y/ns dress had found itself behind her and peters shirt was pulling in the same direction.
"I wish I could sleep here." Y/n grumbled as she buried her cheek in Peters shoulder harder.
"This would not be the most comfortable place."
"I know. I just like this feeling."
"What feeling?"
"Being warm but still tingly. Being whole but because I'm with my other half."
"You're so corny."
"At least I'm feeling the best feeling."
"Yeah? And what's that?"
"Love."
