Chapter IV: The Plot is Now Thicker Than Haruka's Thighs
(Your POV)
To figure out what the deal was with that girl, Rin, I decided to get to know her. Which means inviting her to my living room for some tea and cookies. To help me, I had my peerage meet up with me, since they might have a better idea as to what's going on. I gave my robotic engineers the rocket ship to determine its origins, and just like I guessed, the machine is over 3000 years old and hasn't been opened once in that time period, so that makes Rin 3000 years old. Valentine also did a small blood test, one that I had to hold Rin's hand for, and the results claimed that she was somehow healthy despite being in space for 3000 years, not related to me, and she was human. It wasn't until everyone in my peerage showed up, along with Rias and Haruka since they are my only two brain cells.
"Hey, you're the girl on the cover of that book Uncle Connor has!" Rin pointed at Rias, causing me to look at her and for Rias to shrug. "He hid it from me though, I wonder why, I think you looked pretty."
"Why thank you." Rias thanked the girl, and I could tell Rin slightly inflated Rias's ego by that complimented.
"How many aunts and uncles do you have?" I asked as Raynare sat on one side of me in the living room and Sujin sat on the other. "For the record, I am not your 'Uncle (Y/N)', I just happen to share his face and name."
"I have...13 aunts and uncles!" Rin announced, and I was obviously surprised by the large amount of kids. "Well, we're not related, but we're all we have. The only people I'm related to are my Mommy and Daddy."
"Oh thank goodness, I would have felt bad for your mother if she actually had 14 kids." I chuckled a bit before Rias cleared her throat, signaling that it was back to business. "Anyhow, could you tell us why you were in a bloody spaceship?"
"Daddy and Uncle (Y/N) didn't tell me, but I knew about the wars." Rin suddenly got depressed real quick, but what does she mean about 'the wars'? "Daddy and Uncle (Y/N) both made this Rocket with everyone else's notes, even though Daddy was a writer and Uncle (Y/N) was an archeologist."
"A writer and an archeologist making a rocket...sounds like the beginning of a bad joke." Ardyn actually looked serious about this situation, not that 'half joking' serious expression he used to wear. "What about everyone else, you said you had 13 other people you were close to, including your mother?"
"They....they all...died." Rin looked like she was on the brink of crying, and I began panicking, but the girl still pushed through. "They were nice and very very smart. They were all scientists in different fields."
"For a preteen girl, you're pretty smart and strong." Valentine commented, which I did find off.
"We're so sorry, if you need to cry or stop, none of us will judge you for it." I promised, pulling a box of tissues from my [Inventory]. "This is not an interrogation, we just want to learn more about you and we're you're from."
"It's fine." Rin pumped herself up before continuing. "As for the wars I mentioned earlier, it was a nuclear war that was started by corporations fighting over natural resources. All of the global superpowers were involved, but the big ones were China, USA, North Korea, Russia, France, Germany, and Britain."
"Are you sure?" Jihan asked, sure relationships between those countries was awful, but all out nuclear Armageddon because of some corporations seems stupid...okay that'll definently happen.
"Yes, but is this the future?" Rin asked, looking around, and given the date on her ship, no, this was the past to her, or maybe something else entirely. "Everything is so pretty and clear, it doesn't look like a war happened at all."
"No nuclear war happened in the past, so this can't be the future you're talking about." Kiibo answered, and I began thinking, there's too much going on here.
I would assume time travel, but her rocket is over 3000 years old, so if she came back in time, why didn't she just go forwards in time when the radiation died down from this nuclear war. What's more, she clearly knows who Rias is, from a book at that, but our mythological society is kept secret from normal humans. Rin is 100% human, but how did she survive the rocket? Plus the date on her rocket is clearly from a future date. Time travel is tough enough as it is, yet also making a ship that lasts for thousands of years is just impossible, especially with the fact that a writer and an archeologist were the ones making the ship with nothing but notes from their dead colleagues.
"Rin, what was your father's full name?" Sung asked from a different couch that had him, Jihan, Stark, and Ardyn on it. "Maybe we can find him."
"His full name was Victor De Leon." Rin answered, and I think that was a last name of Spanish origin, but Rin was clearly a Japanese name. "My mother's name was Hori De Leon. My father was from Spain and my mother is from Japan."
"We'll look into their locations with our resident tracking expert." I mentally made notes to ask Nia for the locations of her parents, and an explanation as to what exactly happened with Rin. "Is there anything else you'd like to tell us?"
"I think that's everything." Rin commented, and I nodded in understanding, it wasn't much, but it was all we had to work with.
"You're quite the little record keeper~" Haruka complimented the girl as she walked over to her and head patted the girl. "You have no idea how much this helped us."
"So can I eat her now?" Smough asked, I thought he dropped the cannibalistic tendencies. "Relax, I'm kidding, trying to lighten the mood here."
"Smough, please don't joke about things that could count as a war crime, we are NOT going the corporate bailout path!" I demanded, knowing full well if someone tries to pull that BS on my island I will get the personal firing squad.
"But everyone else is doing it!" Ethan joked like a bratty child, why am I always playing the voice of reason?
"No one cares about everyone else." I sighed and began walking to the dormroom I gave Nia to live in for the war, and possibly after it. "Haruka, I need you to take care of Rin for a little while, everyone else is dismissed. Jeez now the plot is thicker than your thighs..."
"What?"
"Nothing!"
(Timeskip, brought to you by Haruka's puppets cleaning the camera)
I was now in front of Nia's door, waiting for her to reply to my earlier knocking. Not that I was getting impatient or anything, but I was curious about Rin and her origins. After five minutes, Nia finally opened the door, revealing she was wearing dark gray shorts, a black tank top, and glasses. Nia was surprised to see I was the one visiting her, so I explained my current problem with Rin's past memories contradicting our history. With that explained, Nia invited me and had me sit at a coffee table while she summoned her angel.
"Any clues as to where Rin came from?" I asked as Nia read through her book, but her brow was furrowed.
"Do you have any idea how many Rins there are in this world, I need you to be more specific." Nia informed me, and I told her Rin's full name, causing Nia to flip through her book. "What an Earth...?"
"What is it?" I never expected Nia's expression to turn confused, especially when she's looking at her own angel. "You look perplexed."
"My angel is blocking information regarding Rin De Leon, kind of like those black highlighters used by organizations." Nia answered, I thought her angel gave her all the information in the world. "What about her parents? Surely she has parents."
"Her parents' names were Victor De Leon and Hori De Leon." I informed Nia, who nodded and began flipping through her book once more, but she raised an eyebrow.
"Weird, I'm only getting information on people named Doctor V and Celestia Roseheart." Nia informed me, which caught me off guard because Doctor V was missing since the fall of Sacred King's. "Yet I can't find anything related to Victor or Hori."
"Do you think this is possibly connected to my issue, the fact that your book shows my name as Xemnas?" I asked, causing Nia to sigh in an annoyed tone before closing her book.
"I don't know why it's doing this, but I do know that <Raisiel> is connected to the Akashic records, and I'm able to access pieces of it like a computer downloading files and deleting them once I'm done with them." Nia explained, so whatever's going on with Nia's angel is also affecting one of the best sources of information in the universe, fucking great.
"Doctor V has the power to change rules, so maybe he did it by putting some kind of information warping rule on my name and Rin's information?" I suggested, then I remembered Xemnas. "Say, can you look up Xemnas for me?"
"I tried that, but all information regarding him was torn out." Nia informed me, which means someone actually had to go to the records, find Xemnas' book, and tear out all of the information regarding him, I've got to respect that.
"So we're pretty much stuck here at square one?" I sighed as I leaned back. "Great, now I have to call my mentor, which is not gonna be pretty."
"You have a mentor?" Nia asked, and my mentor wasn't exactly a part of my past I was proud of, but he did manage to upgrade my subclass from [Engineer] to [Draconic Engineer].
"Yeah, but his love of knowledge makes him slightly intolerable." I sighed, remembering the experiments he put me through for research granted, I did gain a +10% in strength, so there's that. "Thanks to my immortality, I managed to arrange that I work under him in exchange that I be dissected so Mayuri understands how my ability works. Good news, I'm now hella good with poisons."
"You mean the Captain of Squad 12?" Nia asked, and I nodded to confirm it. "Jeez, I read about him a long time ago, and I'm amazed you're still alive."
"Heh, the ouryuu's immortality is the best immortality." I chuckled a bit. "I would love to show off but immortality like mine is one of those that isn't flashy."
"By the way, how does it feel to be a king?" Nia asked out of nowhere, which was a question I've never really considered. "With everyone looking up to you and all that."
"It's not fun, I have to watch how I act in public or people would question my authority." I yawned, not really a big fan of being king in the first place. "On the plus side, I took notes from other monarchies and democracies and made a couple rules. My favorite being that there is an electoral system in place, and I pretty much banned political parties or groups from getting too much power."
"Isn't that a dictatorly move?" Nia asked, which I did agree with, but considering the shitshow that the US has going on right now because of political parties and extremists, I consider it a good idea to have banned them.
"I still allow free speech, I just don't want groups in the government so that people will be forced to elect people based on the qualities of their character and not their political party." I explained before my watch started ringing, signaling I had to call a couple businessmen in a couple minutes. "Sorry to say this, but I have some people I need to attend to, I'll see you later."
"Good luck."
(Timeskip, brought to you by Arthur riding a goose past the camera)
I just finished talking to some CEO of a company that sells tech, he demanded that I pay him more to continue selling my country his phones. So I told him to go fuck himself, and ordered a machine to perfectly replicate the phone. My civilians will still think we're getting phones from that cunt, when in reality we're making perfect copies. Unlike dictatorships, I don't plan on limiting heir search options in the slightest, in fact, I would encourage them to look outwards and express their opinions.
I hung up the phone after tracing the caller's location, and decided to flood the main factory with water out of spite. I was currently in my bedroom, which was just what you'd expect from a royal bedroom, a large room with a large bed with fancy furniture inside it as well. Still, I tried to remain humble by getting a tv from the early 2000's, but it broke and the storekeeper of the techshop insisted I get a flatscreen. I didn't do anything for him, yet he acts like I saved his family. I'm not a fan of that, I want to earn people's respect.
I leaned on the stone railing of the balcony, looking up at the glistening stars and shining white full moon. There's only one cluster of buildings on the entire island, and it's close to the docks and lighthouse, so that leaves one half of the island almost entirely inhabited. I had my balcony face the uninhabited side because it had almost no light pollution, and it gave me a clear view of the stars.
"To be honest, I never would have guessed you would ever become king." Arthur was suddenly sitting on the balcony railing next to my arms. "I thought your parents would adopt some kid and make him king."
"That's rich coming from someone with no screen time despite being one of the most beloved characters in the series." I commented with a light chuckle, followed by my familiar laughing a bit. "So any news on those guys who attacked me the other day?"
"No, but I did come across one of their familiars, named Mordred, and he gave me a message to deliver to you." Arthur asked, Incase you're curious, I was confused by the sudden attack the day before my fight against Goku, so I sent Arthur to investigate them. "In my opinion, Mordred was clearly smoking crack while he told me it, but it's pretty weird if you ask me."
"Let's get it off your chest." I commented as the cold wind blew through my hair and Arthur's fur. "Besides, it's the only results of an investigation I sent you to do, so let's hear it."
"He told me that it would be a good idea for you to surrender, because you will die in this war." Arthur relayed the message to me, and I groaned in annoyance, people honestly don't think I can win this war, do they? "I called him a 'son of a bitch' and left. Then Mordred started laughing, like the gall of the little rat!"
"My father died despite having his ouryuu abilities because Ursula has access to magic nullifying technology, so I wouldn't be surprised." I said that, yet there are no reports of magic nullifying tech since Hellsing was sent into the world of Skyrim.
"By the way, why did you throw that rock into the sky a couple months ago, and how did it not fall yet?" Arthur was clearly referring to [Dwane Johnson, the gravity detecting rock].
"That's part of my plan, [Operation: Masterpiece], and my reasons for throwing the rock will remain a secret." I chuckled a bit before shifting the subject onto Rin. "By the way, did you read that report on Rin I gave you?"
"Yeah, as if we needed more mysteries to deal with." I chuckled a bit as I used my powers to summon bubbles that gently floated in the air. "First we're at war with the west, then there's these kids with the same power as me, and now Rin's dilemma. What's more, we still haven't found Christ's corpse, and I fear Ursula already has it."
"If Ursula had the corpse, we would have already lost this war." Arthur recalled. "After all, the corpse performs 'miracles' for whoever is in possession of it, does it not?"
"Not exactly..." I decided to explain why we need the corpse. "You see, demigod's usually possess the power of their parent god, like how I'm a demigod of Watatsumi, and so I have sea dragon powers. Jesus on the other hand isn't officially a demigod, just 'the son of god', on account of his mother being mortal and his father being the abrahamic god. Therefore, he's a demigod. However, the abrahamic god is a...Gary Sue for lack of a better term, therefore his son should possess some of the same power, even when he's dead."
"I see what you mean now." Arthur looked up at the stars. "Say, how are gods born? Like not all the gods could exist, right?"
"They do, but their power is directly related to where they're from." I explained as a plane soared overhead. "Like Shinto gods are strongest in Japan and weakest in Brazil. The stronger the belief in the, the stronger the gods are, and the closer to their homeland they are, the stronger they are. That's why Cernunnos is no better than a human right now, he's barely known and he's far from his home, which is Europe."
"So you live in fear." Arthur pointed out, causing me to look at him, but he didn't even look at me. "If Watatsumi is forgotten, then you'd lose everything. Rias doesn't have to live in fear because colonization is a bitch and spreads Christianity, therefore securing her power. However, Shintoism doesn't spread, so if the people forget you, then you're effectively screwed."
"Pretty much, since when did you get so good at reading people?" I poked my familiar, who crossed his arms.
"I was always this good at everything, this is just the first time I'm showing you." Arthur sounded prideful, making me laugh a little. "Say, how long ago was it since we've been able to talk like this?"
"Long before Sacred King's, that's for cure." I answered briefly before my phone started ringing, which is weird considering all my important calls were already done, and it was a FaceTime call, so I answered it to be met with an all-too familiar face.
"Greetings (Y/N)." Mayuri greeted in his usual creepy voice, but I don't hate him, we're both men of an insatiable curiosity, so the two of us get along like wildfire. "Good news, we may be brothers."
"Um..." I checked the photo of my (blood related) family tree I kept on my desk in my room, and I didn't see Mayuri there anywhere. "Are you sure you're not going senile?"
"No, I just did some tests on our soul signature and a small part of me is exactly like a large chunk of your soul." Mayuri bragged like soul signatures are the easiest thing to him, yet I'm the fucker who helped him develop that tech. "Also, we're currently being invaded, and Genryusai ordered that I contact you since I'm the only one who has direct access to your number. Also bring that Ichigo fellow with you."
"I feel like getting invaded is not a 'guess what' kind of predicament." I sighed as I walked over to my desk, turning on the computer. "So who are you getting invaded by? Arrancar? Ashura? Demons? Grimm? Yokai?"
"Quincies." Mayuri informed me as Arthur walked right next to my hands. "Apparently Uryu was far from the last one."
"I'm sorry, you guys are getting invaded by quincies?" I asked to make sure, which Mayuri confirmed. "You alone almost killed Uryu with your Bankai back when Rukia was captured, from what Ichigo told me, are you sure you guys can't take them without me?"
"I would love nothing more than to turn these quincies into my test subjects, but they have technology that allows them to steal Bankai." Mayuri sounded envious of their superior tech. "Plus they have much more than just bows and arrows, they have different abilities."
"Very well then, I'll show up with some dragons, since my robot forces are spread thin." I started making a mental list of dragons I would bring with me to the soul society. "Should I bring my peerage?"
"I think so, but be warned, these quincies are nothing like Uryu." Mayuri informed me before hanging up, he doesn't waste time, I like working with people like that.
"Arthur, I need you to protect Rin while we're away." I ordered my mouse, getting a nod from him. "I'll contact my peerage to meet me by the SS Warlord, an airship I modeled after Ratatoskr's ship, but with way more guns."
"Understood, don't die, dumbass, or your daughters will be sad." Arthur warned me as I got up from my chair and began calling everyone in my peerage.
Obviously, most of my peerage wasn't a big fan of waking up in the middle of the night to go fight a bunch of people. The only ones who didn't see, too bothered were Jihan, Kokushibo, Ulquiorra, and Kiibo. Jihan was like me, and didn't require sleep to survive. Kokushibo and Ulquiorra didn't seem too mad, but then again they're so loyal they don't display their emotions all that well. As for Kiibo...he's a robot, and robots just need to charge and not sleep. Unfortunately, Ichigo was nowhere to be found, neither was Kisuke, who set up his shop on my island without my permission. I didn't really care since he paid the taxes, so I let him do whatever so long as it doesn't hurt anyone. I also ordered that the SS Warlord be brought to the clearing that was often used for golf, since no one golfs in the middle of the night.
The ship hovered a foot over the golf field while I opened up a large door that led to the hull of the ship. I ordered the dragons on the island to go into it, some of them were reluctant, but I threatened to use [Dominate] on them again, so they went with my orders. One by one, my peerage showed up, and I pointed them in the direction of another door, this one much smaller, for them to enter the captain's cabin. Once I loaded in a sufficient amount of dragons, I closed the massive door and [Warped] into the captain's cabin to begin piloting the ship. I grabbed onto the controls, shifting it off of auto pilot and putting in the coordinates. I had the ship hover higher and higher into the sky before causing it to start flying forwards. In front of us, I made a tear in reality using a button Kisuke installed into the ship.
The tear in reality gave us access to the soul society, but it did cause some turbulence, which everyone was forced to deal with since we needed to save our allies. Once we slipped through the giant hole, I pressed the button again to close it. I looked out the window to see the soul society was severely damaged and in desperate need of repairs. So I turned on the loudspeaker to begin talking.
"Quincies fighting against the soul society, if you don't surrender to us right now, we can and will make the quincies actually go extinct."
(A/N: I just played the new FGO event and I feel like that was the dev's way of calling us fanfic writers out. So I'm gonna say this again because I gotta respect their courage, none of anything I write is canon unless I say it's an original. If my work is an original, what I write is canon because I'm the guy who made the story. As much as I know you guys would love it if all the spirits from Date a Live were in a mythological war, it's not canon and you should read the light novel or watch the anime if you wanna know what's canon. Another thing they pointed out was the toxicity in our fandoms, so please guys, keep open minds on matters of opinions, like ships. If the argument is about something actually canon, then accept that's canon and write a fanfic to help accept that fact.
