Chapter 15💜🦋

Hello😀

Vaanga vaanga story kulla polaa🐎💜🦋

********

✷●

Adhyaayam padhinaindhu

Ariyaa Kangal

(Innocent Eyes)

✷●

Her heavy eyes felt increasingly difficult to open. But the strong, intertwined fingers with hers over her tummy soothed her pain enough to slowly open her eyes, only for them to become heavy and moistened again as she saw her husband's worried face.

She attempted to sit up but clutched her head and moaned in pain.

"Siramam kolla vendaam, Ilavarasi. Porumaiyaaga kangalai thirandhu kaanungal. Porumaiyaaga.."

(Don't strain yourself, Princess. Slowly, gently open your eyes. Slowly...)

She heard an elderly woman's voice and slowly opened her eyes. An old lady, dressed in a traditional saree and a white blouse, greeted her with a warm smile.

She blinked and then shifted her gaze to her husband, who was sitting beside her on the bed. Her eyes moved down to the cut she had made on his bicep with her sword.

Tears welled up in her eyes.

"Deva"

She muttered in a hoarse voice after recovering from her panic attack.

He smiled and wiped her tears with his thumbs.

"Naan nandraaga dhaan irukkiren Vizhi"

(I'm perfectly fine, Vizhi.)

He assured her, knowing how frightened she was at the sight of his blood.

"Enakku mannippu kidaikumaa?"

(Will I be forgiven?)

Her eyes blinked rapidly, and she gulped down the lump in her throat as she saw his frowning face.

"Yedharku?"

(For what?)

Although he knew she was blaming herself for the cut on his hand, not seeing it merely as an accident during swordsmanship. He just asked her to pour out her heart to ease her inner turmoil for hurting him.

"Thangalai.. thangalai (hiccups).. kaayam adaiya seidhadharku?"

(For causing you... causing you (hiccups) to be wounded?)

She sniffled.

His lips curved up slightly, and he shook his head, making her cry even more, thinking he wouldn't forgive her for hurting him.

But she jolted in place when he lifted himself slightly from the bed, leaned down to her face, and kissed her forehead.

Her fingers fisted his, and she panted, shutting her eyes tightly.

"Nandri kooralaama naan unakku?"

(Should I thank you?)

He asked her, after pressing their foreheads together.

She felt good, touched, and soulful.

Her heart calmed due to the warm breath from him on her face.

A dimple slowly brightened on her right cheek.

His lips widened, and he chuckled at her gleaming face, but then his expression narrowed as he prepared himself for her next set of questions.

The woman physician left with a smile.

Her hand moved to his sun-stroked chain and fisted it, asking,

"Yedharku?"

(For what?)

She whispered.

He smiled and answered.

"Ennai madhithu, kalathiruku vandhadharku."

(For respecting me by coming to today's event.)

She averted her gaze to his chain.

"Naan eppadi thaakinen anaivarayum?"

(How did I attack everyone?)

Her voice still came as a soft murmur.

"Vetri petra veeraanganai ippadi kettaal naan enna seiven?"

(What can I do if a victorious warrior asks me like this?)

Her smile dropped, and she frowned, leaving his chain and looking directly into his eyes.

"Naan vetri petrenaa?"

(Did I win?)

"Aam"

(Yes)

He smiled and placed his palms on the bed on either side of her arms.

She blushed but continued to give him a confused expression.

"Eppadi? naan dhaan mayangi vittenae? thaangal dhaane vetri petreergal?"

(How? I fainted, right? Didn't you win?)

She blinked at him when he smirked without answering her question.

But she shut her eyes, placing her palms on her tummy, intertwining her fingers as he slowly leaned towards her neck.

She felt a tickling sensation all over her body from head to toe as she felt his breath on her neck and collarbone.

Finally, she tilted her face away when he blew warm breath into her ear.

"Vizhi"

Curling her toes, her chest heaved, grazing slightly against his toned chest.

He looked at her intently, took one of his palms from the bed, and cupped her cheek, turning her face towards him.

Her face turned pale as he moved his thumb towards the base of her lower lip, freeing it from the bottom row of her pearly teeth.

She gasped and tried to turn her face away from him again, but he cupped her cheek with his hand, his thumb stroking the corner of her lips.

Her thighs clenched, and she felt hot.

She blinked her eyes but not spared him a single glance.

Meanwhile, her soft face against his war-handled fingers felt so satisfying for him.

He sighed, stroking the corner of her lips, and gazed at her eyes, which were staring at the wall beside them.

"Enakku en aasiriyar ondru katru koduthirukiraar Vizhi."

(My teacher taught me one thing, Vizhi.)

She turned her face towards him and raised her brows, looking into his eyes.

"Enna?"

(What?)

The shivering in her voice made him pull back his hand, leaving her. He sat straight on the bed, taking a deep breath to control himself from doing anything that might make her cry or scare her.

"De..Deva"

She placed her palm over his, which was resting on the bed beside her waist.

He looked at her.

"Enna aanadhu?"

(What happened?)

He intertwined their fingers and smiled at her lovingly, making her feel better. It worked well as she diverted them back to the question-and-answer session.

He took her little palm inside both of his large palms.

"En'gal irukkiradhu allavaa?"

(Did you know numbers?)

She nodded her head, responding positively.

"Aam"

(Yes)

Her curious face made him suppress a laugh. He leaned in and, as if sharing a secret, whispered,

"Adhil, en yezhai vida, en ondru siriyadhu endru."

(In that, the number one is less than the number seven.)

She frowned, processing his words, and then gave him a pointed look.

He chuckled and pinched her cheek.

"Pongall"

(Go away)

She swatted his hand away from her cheek, and he gave her an amused look.

"Oh, pin, naan sellavaa?"

(Oh, shall I go now?)

She averted her gaze from him.

"Seri naan selgiren"

(Okay, I'm leaving)

She grabbed his wrist in the blink of an eye.

"Sooriyadeva"

He chuckled at her whining and sat down again, moving closer to her. His thigh was beside her breast, and his palm gently cupped her cheek.

"Yengenum valikiradhaa? enn'avalukku?"

(Is it hurting anywhere to my wife?)

She shook her head with a smile.

"Nijamaaga?"

(Really?)

He asked to reconfirm, as he felt guilty, believing he was the reason for her panic attack.

But her next words,

"En aiyan mel sathiyamaaga"

(I swear to my husband)

He smiled, gulped, then crouched down and kissed her cheek.

She smiled and tried to straighten up from the bed. He helped her, making her lean back against the headrest.

She smiled again and gently traced circles between his thumb and index finger.

"Deva"

"Mm"

He hummed softly and laid his head on her lap, feeling immense relief as the weight lifted from his mind upon seeing her smile and playful gestures. It was as if he had been on the edge of Prebanja Hill until the physician treated her panic attack.

She smiled back at him, running her fingers through his hair affectionately. Her hand hesitated, almost moving towards his chest visible through the split of his prince attire.

"Vetri petradharku thaangal enakku enna tharuveergal?"

(What will you give me for winning?)

She asked, shifting her gaze away from the hairs of his chest that peeked out from his dress.

"Umakku enna vendum ena koor, Vizhi. Indrirarvirkul adhu engu irundhaalum yeduthu vandhu unadhu menmaiyaana ivviru'karangalil vaippen."

(Tell me what you want, Vizhi. Before dawn, I will bring it and place it in your soft palms.)

He took her fisted palm and kissed her knuckle.

She smiled back at him, pondering a reward for her victory but couldn't think of anything specific.

"Mmm.. ippozhudhu yedhuvum vendaam naan pinnar ketkiren. Aanaal enakku thangalidam ondru vinava vendum."

(Mmm, now I don't want anything. I will ask later. But I need to ask you something.)

"Kel"

(You can ask.)

He intertwined their fingers together and placed them on his chest.

She gulped.

"Devi"

"Haan?"

He tucked the hairstrands behind her ear.

"Yedho vinava vendum ena koorinaaiye?"

She caught his wrist and placed his hand on his chest above their fisted palms.

Their hands melded together against his chest.

"Adhu.. indru dhaan thangalin sagodharar'galin mugathinai thelivaaga neril paarka mudindhadhu. Adheppadi? anaivarum oru pola irukkireergal, ilavarasae?"

(That..Today, only I could see your brothers' faces closely. How you all look the same, prince.)

He smiled and kissed the side of her palm.

"En amma'vin aindhu varuda dhavathinaal"

(Due to my mother's five years of penance.)

He answered. She frowned.

"Haan?"

"Aam Vizhi. Enadhu annaiyargal matrum thandhaiyaar'in vivaagathirku piragu vegu kaalam avargalukku pillai chelvame kittavillaiyaam."

(Yes. My parents didn't have any children for a long time after their marriage.)

He made her palm to cup his cheek.

"Ohh"

"Adhanaal anaithu naatu prejaigal, matrum arasar, arasiyar anaivarum en thandhai'yai igazhchi paduthi pesi irukkindranar."

(Because of that, everyone mocked and teased my father.)

Her face lost its color as she felt pity for her father-in-law.

"Yen ivvaaru irukkiraargal?"

(Why are they like that?)

He smiled at her sour face.

"Mmm. Avargal appadi'thaan. Adhanaal enadhu thaai, Ilandevi amma, bremma bagavaanai vendi, than kanavarirku aindhu pudhalvargal pirakka vendum endrum, ap'pudhalvargal avarai polave mugam, matrum gunam kondavargalaaga irukka vendum endrum, aindhu aandugal dhavam seidhaar."

(Mmm. They are like that. That's why my mother prayed to Brahma for five sons, and she wanted all the sons to have the same face and qualities as my father; for that, she did penance for five years.)

Her smile widened as she felt proud of her mother-in-law.

"Kanavarukkaaga seidhullaar. Allavaa?"

(She did it for her husband, right?)

He hummed seeing her with a smile. But she seemed to be lost in her thoughts.

"Enna yosanai, Vizhi?"

(What are you thinking, Vizhi?)

He kissed her inner palm.

Smiling with warmth and affection, she replied,

"Aththai migavum nallavar"

(My aunt is so good)

She caressed his cheek. He closed his eyes and said,

"Aam. unnai pola"

(Yes. I like you.)

She blushed.

He chuckled, opening his eyes to looking at her timid face.

"Mmm pin koorugiren kel"

(Listen)

She shifted her gaze from his cheek and lips to his eyes.

"Aindhu aandugal'ku pin, bremma devan en thaayaar mun thondri avargal kettadhu pola thaam varam alippadhaagavum, mudhan mudhalil ennai en amma vin karuvil uruvaakinaar enavum, pinnar matra arasiyargal en sagodharargalai petranar enavum en paati enadhu siruvayadhil dinamum kooruvaar."

(After five years, Brahma appeared and promised to grant my mother's wish and he himself blessed her womb first with me. My grandmother used to tell me this daily in my childhood.)

She chuckled at his gleaming eyes.

"Aasai paiyan thaangal dhaanaa ungal amma virku?"

(Wasn't you your mother's beloved son?)

"Amma virku mattum alla devi. Indha aranmanai muluvadhum perum utchavathil eedu pattirundhirukiradhu. Pinnar, naangal ovvaruvaraaga pirandhom. Avanindhan, Abhinjalan, Anbazhagi, Anilamudhan, Adhivishman, Idhil Yezhisai chithi'in dhavathinaal pirandhaval dhaan Anbazhagi."

(Not just for my mother; the whole palace celebrated my birth. Then, we were born one after another... Avanindhan, Abhinjalan, Anbazhagi, Anilamudhan, Adhivishman, and from this, Anbazhagi, born from my aunt's penance.)

She narrowed her brows.

"Avar yen dhavam irundhaargal?"

(Why did she have penance?)

"Yen'endraal avargalukku pen pillaigal endraal uyir."

(Because for her, having a daughter mean life.)

"Ohh. Appodhu.."

(Oh.. then..)

She started but stopped abruptly with a hesitation.

He raised his brows at her.

"Appodhu?"

(Then?)

"Illai ondrum illai, Ilavarasae"

(Nothing, Prince)

She shook her head.

"Nee ilavarasae endru koorumbodhey therigiradhu unadhu manadhil yedho kulappam irukkiradhu endru. Maraikaamal koor Seervizhi, naan ondrum solla maaten unnai"

(Just by calling me prince, it is clear that there is some confusion in your mind. Speak honestly, Seervizhi, I won't tell you anything)

She pulled away her hands from his hold.

"Ondrum illai deva, naam urangalaamaa?"

(Nothing, deva. Shall we sleep?)

He straighetend up from her lap.

She attempted to slip away towards the bathing area but halted upon hearing...

"Umakku enna kulappam endru therindhu kollaamal naan indriravu uranga maaten, Seervizhi"

(I won't sleep tonight without knowing what is troubling you, Seervizhi)

She sighed and turned around, but stepped back upon seeing him standing in front of her, towering over her small frame.

She gulped nervously.

"Soll"

(Tell me)

She took a deep breath.

"Pidivaadha gunam thaangal anuppiya Sarayu'virku mattum dhaan irukkiradhu endru naan kanaa kandu vitten, Ilavarasae"

(Even in my dreams, I have seen that the stubborn nature is only in the Sarayu you sent, prince.)

He frowned initially, but soon smirked as he realized she was teasing him, indirectly suggesting that he was being stubborn with her.

"Seri soll"

(Okay. Go on!)

She huffed.

"Pen pillaigalai piditha thangalin chithi'ku yen ennai mattum pidikka villai ena ketka vandhen podhumaa?"

(I came to ask why your aunt, who likes the other girls, doesn't like me. Is that enough?)

He pressed his lips together on seeing her irritated face.

"Sinam kolla kooda theriyumaa enn'avalukku?"

(Does my wife know how to get angry with me?)

She stared at him impassively, not in the mood to react to his teasing.

He chuckled softly.

"Seri. Badhil koorugiren. Nilaa kangalil sooriyanai yeritha paavam umakku yedhukku?"

(Okay, I'll tell you, because I don't want you to bear the sin of setting the sun with just your moon eyes)

Her lips twisted into a small smile as he pulled her closer to him, holding her wrist.

"Avargalukku ummai pidikaamal ellaam poga villai. Aanaal ivvaaru avargal nadandhu'kolvadharku enmeedh'ulla kobamum, ariyanaiyin meedhulla aasaiyum dhaan kaaranam."

(It's nothing like that she hate or dislike you. Now, is she behaving like this to you means, she is angry with me and desires the throne.)

She blinked her eyes in a confusion.

"Ungal meedhu enna kobam?"

(Why is she angry on you?)

"Naan ariyanaiyil yeri viduveno endru dhaan."

(That I might take the throne.)

He answered with a hint of sorrow, reflecting on the memories of Yezhisai and Eezhamadhi's actions towards him during his childhood after his mother's death.

"Deva"

He panted slightly, and she placed her palm on his racing heart to soothe the pain he was imagining, unaware of her actions.

"Yen thaangal yaerinaal, avargalukku enna kobam?"

(Why would she be angry if you took it?)

He smiled and answered her.

"Avargaladhu magan, Avanindhan dhaan ariyanaiyil yaera vendum ena virumbugiraar."

(She wants her son Avanindhan to take the throne.)

"Ohh"

She remained silent for a while, deep in thought, her gaze fixed on the floor.

He observed her with curiosity, waiting for her next move.

After a moment, she looked up at him with a determined expression on her face.

"Ilavarasae"

(Prince)

"Mmm"

He simply hummed in acknowledgment, patiently waiting for her to continue.

"Naam Avanindhan avargalukke ariyanaiyinai koduthu vidalaam."

(Let's give the throne to Avanindhan.)

She nodded, finishing her thought, but frowned upon seeing his pale face.

"Yen avvaaru koorugiraai? naan adharku thagudhi aanavan illai ena ninaikirayaa?"

(Why are you saying so?Do you think I'm unworthy?)

She gasped.

"Thagudhiyaanavar illlaiyaa?Idhu andha ariyanai kooda yaetru kollaadhu. Thangalai perave andha uyiratra, unarvu konda ariyanaiyai'uhm viruppam kollum"

(Unworthiness? Even that inanimate object, imbued with consciousness, would desire to possess you.)

He smiled and she continued.

"Aanaal, ariyanaiyinaal thangal meedhu thangalin chithi koba paduvadhai patri ivvoor makkal arindhaal avarai dhaan thavaraaga ennuvaargal allavaa? adhanaal naam Avanindhan'irke koduthu vidalaam."

(But if our country's people came know that your aunt is angry with you just for the throne, they will blame her, right? So let's give the throne to Avanindhan.)

He smiled and wrapped his hand around her waist, pulling her closer to him.

Despite enduring every torment from Yezhisai, his wife continued to think of her betterment.

She placed her palms on his chest.

"Aanaal, Vizhi. Paati matrum, oor prejaigal anaivarum naan magudam soota vendum endru dhaan aasai kolgiraargal, Adharku enna seivadhu naam?"

(But grandma and the people want me to come to the throne, Vizhi. What should I do now?)

Their roles had reversed.

He now found himself in her place, asking her questions.

She replied softly, pondering over things.

The progress!

"Naam avargalukku eduthu koori puriya vaikalaam ilavarasarae. Yen'endraal. Tharpodhu Yezhisai aththai thangaludan kobam kolvadhu pola varum'kaalathil Avanindhan'uhm kobam kolla maataar endru enna nichiyam?"

(Then let's explain to them, prince. Because  is there any guarantee that, in the future, is there any certainty that Avanindhan won't get angry with you, just like Aunt Yezhisai)

He shook his head with a squinted eyes.

"Avan avvaaru seibavan alla, Vizhi."

(He won't do that, Vizhi.)

"Eppadi avvalavu nambikkaiyudan uraikireergal?"

(How are you so sure?)

"Naangal vevveru vayitril pirandhirundhaalum bremma dhevaraal uruvaaka patta orey inam. Avanindhan'aal mattum alla. Naan, Abhinjalan, Anilamudhan, and Adhivishman. Yen? Anbazhagi'yinaal kooda avvaaru oruvarai oruvar gunam thaalthi'oh, Illai, kural uyarthi'oh pesuvadhu pola ninaithu kooda paarka mudiyaadhu."

(Even though we were born from different wombs, we were created by Brahma. Not just Avanindhan. I, Abhinjalan, Anilamudhan, and Adhivishman, even Anbazhagi can't look at each other with anger.)

His determined voice made her smile at him.

"Yen indha punnagai?"

(Why are you smiling?)

"Thaangal aruvarum migavum koduthu vaithavargal, Devaa. Dhava palan endru amma koori kettirukiren. Indru dhaan mudhan mudhalil en kann munn kaangiren"

(You six are very blessed, Deva. I have heard my mom saying about "The blessing of penance", but today, for the first time, I am seeing that before my eyes.)

Yes, It's indeed true!

Getting emotional in front of her, he tightened his hold around her. Her right hand moved towards his shoulder, and she tiptoed to reach his height.

"Aam. Ippadi oru azhagana manaivi enakku kidaithadhum, ippadi oru arivaana anni avv'aivarukku kidaithadhum miga periya dhava palan dhaan."

(Yes. It's a great blessing that I got a beautiful wife and they got an intelligent sister-in-law like you)

She gave him a fake glare with a smile, and they chuckled together.

But soon, they put some distance between them when Anbazhagi stormed inside with a pout on her face.

"Anbazhagi?"

"Anna"

(Brother)

She stood beside him and leaned her head on his shoulder, wrapping her arm around his.

He responded by wrapping his arm around her shoulders and gently caressing her hair.

Seervizhi looked at their bond and then at him.

"Enna aanadhu, Anbaa?"

(What happened, Anbaa?)

He asked, softly to her.

"Anna. Avanindhan anna ennidam avaradhu karathinai ongi vittaar"

(Brother. Avanindhan hit me.)

"Avanindhan ahh?"

He looked dumbfounded, knowing that his brothers, especially Avanindhan, would not disrespect anyone, especially women.

"Aam anna"

(Yes brother)

"Avan avvaaru nadandhukolla maataane. Nee enna seidhaai?"

(He wouldn't do like that. What did you do?)

She released her hold on him, staring the floor. But his hold was still on her shoulder.

"Naan Ondrum seiya villai anna. Avar dhaan ennai adippadharku vandhaar."

(I didn't do anything, brother. He came to hit me.)

Still, Anushman appeared not to trust her.

"Anbaa, umakke nandraaga theriyum Avanindhan appadiyellaam nadandhu kolla maataan endru. Enna seidhaai. Sol ennidam"

(Anbaa, you know very well that Avanindhan wouldn't do like that. What did you do? Tell me)

"Anna"

(Brother)

His slghtly raised voice made herself pull back from his arms.

"Sol Anbaa. Anna yedhum solla maaten"

(Tell me, Anbaa. I won't say anything.)

He took her hand inside his.

"Anna. thangalukku theriyum allavaa? Enakku pusthagam padipadhu migavum pudikum endru?"

(Brother. You know, right? I love reading books?)

She asked looking at him.

He squinted his eyes and said,

"Aam. Netru kooda naan Manimegalai nool vaangi koduthenae amaicharidam irundhu?"

(Yes. So that, yesterday, I got you the Manimegalai book from the minister.?)

"Haan. Adhanai pola enakku innoru pusthagam padikka viruppam. Adhanai dhaan anna vidam sendru vaangi kodungal endru kaetten anna maaten endru koori adippadharku vandhaar."

(Yes. I liked another book. I went to ask him to get it for me, but he came to hit me, saying no.)

He became thoroughly confused by his little ones' fight over something trivial.

"Appadi enna pusthagam kettaai nee?"

(What book did you ask for?)

"Kokkokam"

When she uttered the name of the book, he gasped loudly in shock, releasing his hold on her arm in horror, which frightened the two little humans and caused them to become scared and panicked.

"Ilavarasae"

(Prince)

"Anna enna aanadhu?"

(What happened, brother?)

They stood before him.

He gulped nervously upon seeing their panicked faces, then composed himself by taking a deep breath.

"Anbazhagi. Umakku indha pusthagam patri eppadi theriya vandhadhu?"

(Anbazhagi. How did you come to know about this book?)

"Enadhu thozhigal koorinar"

(My friends told me.)

She replied and he sighed, gritting his teeth.

"Adhil enna irukkiradhu endru umakku therindhu dhaan, nee adhanai padikka vendum ena kettaayaa?"

(Did you ask me after knowing what was in it?)

She shook her head vigourously.

"Illai illai anna. Enakku andha pusthagam patri ondrum theriyaadhu. Aanaal en thozhigal anaivarum adhanai naam padikka vendum endru pesi kondanar adhanaal dhaan ungalidam ketten."

(No, no, brother. I don't know anything about that book, but my friends said we should read it, so I asked you.)

He took a deep breath.

Seervizhi placed her palm on his shoulder, showing concern.

But his intense gaze landed on her beautiful face, illuminated by the moon and firelight.

He blinked, his focus shifting,

First at her eyes,

Then her lips on the second blink,

And her collarbone on the third.

On the fourth blink, he shook his head, refocused, and smiled awkwardly at his sister.

"Anbaa. Anna'vidam vaa"

(Anbaa, come to me.)

She stood in front of him.

And he caught her arms.

"Andha pusthagam vendaam Anbaa umakku."

(You don't need that book, Anbaa.)

He said it to her, to convince her.

But will the girl stop?

"Yen anna?"

(Why brother?)

"Adhu, eppadi umakku puriya'vaipadhu. Mm.. Haan.. avatril yedho thavaraaga eludhi iruppadhaaga koori adhanai thadai seiya pogiraargalam."

(It's... how to tell you. Hmm. Yes. They say that the book has something wrong written in it and they are going to ban it.)

He said to her as if she is his kid.

"Ohh, enna thavaraaga eludhi irukkiraargal?"

(Oh, what is written wrong?)

He sighed, feeling the weight of elderhood among the childlike humans around him. He answered each of their concerns with a calm tone, not wanting anyone to feel the loneliness he once felt before Seervizhi came into his life.

But now, thinking about his sister, he truly wanted her to forget and hate that book she desired so much, at least until she got married.

So, he cooked up a lame story in his mind and replied,

"Adhu thavaru enbadhai vida, adhil yeludhi irukkum thavaraana vishyangalai yaar padikiraargalo avai anaithum avargal arugil iruppavargalukkum. utraar, uravinargalukum adhey pola nadakkumaam."

(It's not about what's written wrong, but whatever wrong things are written in it, will happen to those who read it and to their families.)

"Aiyayo"

(Oh, my!)

She closed her mouth with her palms in shock.

Seervizhi frowned at him.

"Mm paarthaayaa? Adhanaal dhaan anna vendaam ena koori irukkiraan nee Adam pidithadhum adikka vandhiruppaan. Aanaal adithirukka maataane?"

(Hmm. See? That's why your brother said no. He might have come to hit you when you insisted. But he wouldn't hit you, right?)

She grinned at him.

"Mm, aamaam, Anna. Adhan piragu meendum puriya vaika muyarchu seidhaar naan dhaan avanai adithu vittu odi vandhu vitten."

(Mm. Yes, brother. Then he tried to make me understand again. But I hit him and came here.

"Kalli. Adharkul ennidam vandhu naadagam podugiraai."

(You hit him, but you came to me acting like he has hit you, naughty girl.)

He twisted her ears. She winced loudly in pain.

"Anna aah vidungal anna."

(Ah, brother, leave me.)

He left her and cupped her cheeks.

"Ingu paar Anbaa. Neeyum andha pusthagathinai padikka maataai, un thozhigal yevarayum padikka vida maataai endrum enakku urudhi alithu kodu."

(Look here, Anbaa. You won't read that book, and you won't let your friends read it either. Swear to me.)

"Anna"

(Brother)

"Nam kudumbathirku kashtam tharum yendha kaariyamum naan seiya maaten anna."

(I won't do anything that harms our family, brother.)

He smiled and kissed the top of her head. She left the couple alone, but not before getting a kiss on her cheek from her sister-in-law.

Anushman sighed in relief, trusting that his sister wouldn't read or even mention that book's name again.

However, he didn't notice the person who had overheard everything from just outside his chamber's door, leaving only after Anbazhagi had departed.

Anushman smiled at Seervizhi, but she frowned and caught his arm

"Devane"

"Sollamma"

(Tell me, dear.)

She smiled.

"Adhu. Enna pusthagam?"

(That. What is that book?)

He gulped.

"Haan?"

"Illai adhu enna pusthagam endru kaetten."

(No, I asked you what that book was.)

She repeated.

"Yendha pusthagam?"

(Which book?)

"Anbazhagi koorinaale?"

(The one that Anbazhagi mentioned?)

"Adhaan naan koorinenae adhu yedho thavaraaga eludhapatta pusthagam endru.."

(You didn't hear? I said, right? It's a book with something wrongly written texts.)

Averting his gaze, he moved towards the changing room but stopped upon hearing,

"Nijamaagavaa?"

(Really?)

He turned towards her.

"Aamaam aanaal nee yen ivvaaru kaetkiraai?"

(Why. Why are you asking like this?)

He moved, and stood infront of her again.

"Adhu. Enadhu thozhi Kalaiyarasi irukkiraal allavaa?"

(You know my friend Kalaiyarasi, right?)

He suddenly pulled her closer, holding her by the waist. She blushed, lowering her gaze to his chest.

"Aval andha pusthagathinai padithirukkiren ena koori irukkiraal. Aanaal thaangal ippodhu Anbazhagi idam kooriyadhu pol'ellaam avalukku nadakka Villaye?"

(She said she read that book. But what you told Anbazhagi didn't happen to her, right?)

He smirked, raising his brows.

"Appadiyaa?"

(Is that so?)

She nodded yes.

"Adhil enna irukkiradhu, endru unakku theriyum?"

(So, you know what is in that book?)

She shook her head.

"Aahaan. Adharkul dhaan thaangal ennai vivaagam seidhu ingu alaithu kondu vandhu vitteergale?"

(Aahaan. Before that itself, you dragged me here marrying me)

She pouted and then twisted her lips, averting her gaze from him.

With the same smirk, he leaned towards her face.

"Adhanaal enna? Adhil enna irukkiradhu endru naan uraipadhu mattum alla. Katrum kodukiren umakku"

(So what? Dont worry. I won't just tell you what's in it. I'll also teach you.)

She frowned, lifting her face towards him, but gulped at their proximity.

"Aanaal thaangal dhaan adhil thavaraaga yedho irukkiradhu endru koorineer'ey?"

(But didn't you say there was something wrong with it?)

"Adhu... Anbazhagi adhanai padikka koodaadhu enbadharkaaga koorinen."

(I only said that, so Anbazhagi shouldn't read it.)

She gripped his shoulder, tip-toeing.

"Yen adhanai aval padikka koodaadhu?"

(Why shouldn't she read it?)

"Yen'endraal adhu vivaagam mudithavargal mattum dhaan padikka vendum."

(Because it's only for married people to read.)

He leaned forward.

"Ohh yen?"

(Oh, why?)

She bent herself back with a smile, holding onto the collar of his shirt.

"Yen'endraal adhil kanavan, manaivi yevvaaru irukka vendum ena uraika pattirukkum. Aanaal unakku ippozhudhu adhu vendaam."

(Because it explains how a husband and wife should be together. But you don't need it right now)

He straightened but, she tugged at his shirt's collar, pulling him down to her height.

"Yen vendaam? Kanavan manaivi eppadi irukka vendum ena eludhi irukkumaa? Appadi enna irukkum?"

(Why not? Does it say how a husband and wife should be together? What does that?)

"Mm oru manaivi than kanavanai evvaar'ellaam ullaasathil vaithirukulaam ena irukkum."

(It tells how a wife can keep her husband happy.)

His voice softened as his lips brushed hers. She shut her eyes and breathed hard, gulping.

"Naan adhil iruppadhu pola ungalidam nadandhu kondaal thaangal magizhchiyaaga iruppeergalaa?"

(If I do what's in it with you, will you be happy?)

He closed his hooded eyes, trying not to scare her with their intensity, before exhaling his words and breath.

"Aam"

(Yes)

He pecked her lips and squeezed the right area of her spine. She moaned.

"Mmm. Appodhu enakku adhu vendum"

(Mmm. Then I want it.)

He opened his eyes.

"Haan?"

She, too, opened her eyes and looked at his lips.

"Enakku koduppeergalaa?"

(Will you give it to me?)

"Enna?"

(What do I want to give it to you?)

He released his hold on her.

"Andha pusthagam. Ennavo oru paer koorinaale, Anbazhagi?"

(That book. What's it called?)

He gulped.

"Adhellaam vendaam. Naan veru oru murai."

(Forget it. I'll..)

She shook her head, stopping his words.

"Illai enakku vendum. Vetri petradharku naan enna kettaalum vaangi tharuvaadhaagavum, indriravirkul naan ketpadhai enadhu karangalil vaipadhaagavum koorineergaley?"

(No, I want it. Didn't you say you'd give me whatever I asked for as a victory reward and place it in my hands tonight?)

"Vizhi umakku dhaan padikka ther.."

(But Vizhi you don't know to rea..)

"Haan. Nyaabagam vandhu vittadhu, Kokkokam pusthagam."

(Ahn. I remember. It's Kokkokam book)

He gulped.

"Enakku andha Kokkokam pushtagam vendum, aiyane"

(I want the Kokkokam book, husband.)

She smiled at him, hugging him around his waist and resting her chin on his chest.

His heart pounded against his ribcage, imagining the contents of that book and its detailed descriptions of sexual relationships. He turned hard instantly, picturing those scenarios with the small yet perfect woman in his arms, blinking at him with her innocent eyes.

Damn! Those innocent eyes killed him alive!
