Once Jungkook was packing his stuff for school, when he heard his parents talking in the kitchen. Normally his parents didn't talk so quietly, that is why Jungkook got curious and pressed his ears onto the door that was leading to the kitchen.

They always refused to call it illness in front of Jungkook, but he knew all about it.

Jungkook wasn't a normal 16 year old. He wasn't like the others, and he knew that.

His mother always told him, that he is special.

And for some time Jungkook was very proud of it. Until he realized, that his behaviour is nothing to be proud of.

When other children played together, Jungkook wanted to sit indoors and fold paper planes the whole day. Jungkook was happy to do this, it was the thing he almost liked to do the most.

When other children told each other their adventures, Jungkook stayed in his bed and dreamed of the same things again and again.

When other children hugged their parents to say good bye, Jungkook just waved them from the far.

When other children paid attention in class, Jungkook stared at the bird outside the window, who was busy building a nest.

When other children met friends, Jungkook made up stories in his head and imagined to be in them.

When other boys met their girlfriends, Jungkook stayed at home and read books about the discovery of America or the history of Korea.

Jungkook felt like no one would understand him, not even his parents, not even his doctor.

They talk to him, but don't know what he would answer.
They say they are here, but don't get that he can see this by himself.
They try to love him, but don't know if they are loved back.

But how should they have known, if they don't understand him?

Jungkook wants to show them that he loves them, that he needs them.

But how should he, if he doesn't understand them?

Everyone told Jungkook, that he is special.

And they sounded like it would be good to be an outsider, to be with so many people on this planet, but still in an own world, to be unable to understand others.

No matter how often they told him that he's special, the truth is that he just had an illness.

An incurable one.
