Chapter 6

Rewriting History

"How much longer Uncle?" The Queen complained as she lay in her bed with pillows over her face and eyes closed.

Her uncle chuckled as he leaned against her room door, "You are being so dramatic."

"I am not," Asora's voice sounded so small and muffled underneath the pillows. "You may have been out to sea before, but I have not. I have been swaying for several days and my stomach and head are tired of it." Asora groaned some more. "I'm not even married yet and I hate it."

"Well it's too late to back out, we're already here," Her uncle smirked.

The Queen shot up from underneath the pillows, ignoring the wave of nausea, into an upright position. Frantically she climbed out of her bed and went to her chest. "You're just now telling me this!"

"What do you mean?" Her uncle asked amused. "I tried but you were complaining about being seasick."

Asora scowled, "You're the one who started it, you told me I was being dramatic." Her uncle gave her a pointed look. "Oh geez, I can tell you're about to teach me something."

"All I'm going to say is patience is a virtue, you don't get the chance to become annoyed over small things." Her uncle said.

"And my advisors shouldn't instigate others," The Queen said as she pulled a long dress out of the large chest.

Wisemen Hugh shook his head more amused than annoyed. "Why are you always so fresh?"

"I learned from the best," Asora laughed. "Now get out I need to change."

"Yes, My Queen." Advisor Hugh mocked as he quietly shut the door after him. The Queen rolled her eyes, she hated when her uncle called her that.

Carefully, she took the straps of her light blue dress off her shoulders, gently pulling it over her tender chest (she cursed her flow of blood, it always came at the wrong time with the worst effects) before quickly pulling it down her wide hips and slender legs.

As she pulled the new dress on, a smirk made its way onto her face.

Her reflection was gorgeous.

Her body was covered in a white satin fabric, hugging her perfectly. Tight around her bosom and hips before flowing down gracefully towards her ankles. She specifically loved the bottom of her dress, it was splashed with a deep red as if she walked in a puddle of blood.

To others, it may be inappropriate or taboo, but to her, it was a warning for all to see. While her virginity was intact, it did not mean she was fully pure. She had spilled blood to become Queen and would continue to spill blood if it meant protecting her people.

Quietly, she slipped on her white flats which were gifted by her soon-to-be husband, he also gave her four studded diamonds, she had extra piercings so she put two on each ear. Asora wouldn't deny that his gifts were very pretty, but her eyes turned to a small mahogany box on her vanity.

It held the most important pieces of jewels that could've ever been bestowed upon her. One was a necklace, gifted and made by her parents. It was the last thing her parents gave her before they died.  The necklace was made of smaller pearls and smooth white jade stones, it contrasted with her golden brown skin and slyly brought attention to her ample amount of chest.

She then pulled a tiara out, it had pearls shaped like white hibiscus (her nations common flower), with small diamonds surrounding each flower. Her people spent much time making this tiara, it would be first tiara and crown out of many for their New Queen.

Carefully, Asora placed the crown on top of her head, and even though it was light as a feather, she felt an added weight to her body.

Even though she craved to be a weak little girl, staring into her reflection she realized, again, the magnitude of her current situation, she was a Queen getting married to a King in a foreign country. It made her eyes water, she wished her mom and sister were there to giggle and lighten her anxieties.

"Your family would be proud, you know?" Asora turned around to see Tae-Jeong's niece, Kimora, smiling as she leaned against the door frame of her room.

Asora wiped her eyes, "Don't you know to knock?"

Kimora shook her head before hugging her Queen tightly, and leaned her head against small chest. And liked a child Asora gladly held onto her, unashamed of the tears that fell.

"You've rewritten history for our people, and led us to much light out of great darkness in the past year, than any other previous king." Kimora said. "If these tears you cry is because of your duty as a Queen suck them all back in. You are brave, king and strong."

Asora laughed, "These tears are for many things, it's not really about my responsibilities as Queen."

Kimora gingerly placed a hand on each side of her Queens face, and tilted it up to her. "Your mom, dad, and sisters would be very proud of you. I know no one can never replace them but we are you family too. We are here to share your burden, and are willing to fight to death for you. So please do not let you stresses get to you."

Asora slowly stood up, and at 5'4, surprisingly  she inched over Kimora by a few inches.

It was now the Queens turn to comfort her people. She placed a hand on either side of Kimora's head as well, "And I will fight for you and all my people and a hundredfold times more, but I need you to believe in me. That despite my state of weaknesses right now that I will never give up on you."

Kimora chucked before pulling her Queens hands from her face and squeezing them, "And I need you to believe that we have your back more than any other ruler before or after you."

Asora wiped her tears away, her spirit finally felt calmer, "You ready?"

Kimora grinned widely, "To see you rewrite history again? I'm always ready for that."

"Did you send her the carriage?" King Tae-Han asked his advisors as he looked out to the field of cherry blossoms.

"Yes, we did. With additional soldiers added to the ones that was already sent. We also added three assassins, they were given orders to remain unseen; any threat will be killed." Do Joon explained.

Tae-Han slightly turned his head back to the advisors behind him. "While I do appreciate the thought of you doing that, don't do it again. Until we know for certain how she really is and what her motives are we cannot risk our extra forces to protect her, not yet at least."

The advisors nodded their heads in understanding even though their hearts disliked the kings mistrust. "Understood," They all said.

Suddenly the room became thick with tension, even the birds outside had stopped tweeting.

King Tae-Han turned around to see his advisors faces downcast, "This marriage is strictly for political advancement, you have to remember that."

"But what if you can gain a wife out of this?" Jangsu asked.

Both Advsior Daru and Do Joon glared at the youngest with daggers for asking such an intrusive question.

"Pardon Advisor Jangsu he is young and does not always understand what he ask?" Advsior Do Joon bowed before smacking Jangsu on the shoulder, and quickly he bowed too.

"Sorry your majesty, I did not mean to make such an insensitive comment, and am willing to take any punishment you suffice."

King Tae-Han chuckled before gently slapping his advisors shoulder. "No need to bow, you ask a legitimate question." Jangsu warily straightened up and looked to his king in embarrassment.

The King chuckled and looked to Daru and Do Joon, "Don't stress the boy out. He's young but wise his for his age."

"Now to answer your question, Jangsu." The King said. "Originally the plan was to overtake my Queens country, but I realized when your desperate and have terrible advisors like mine you'll agree to anything. Now with you all as my new advisors, I have had more hope and light then ever before, and I have a better mindset, so I am no longer going to do that. Instead, I will work with her to grow our country's resources and strength together. And if I can call her my wife as well then that is a victory for me. However, if she betrays me, know I will treat her as swiftly as I did my previous advisors."

The Advisors all smiled at each other and then to the king, "This is great news your majesty." They all said as they bowed.

King Tae-Han chuckled, "I will not be the cruel king I once was or that my forefathers were. If I want peace for my people I have to rewrite history."

"Yes, you will our king. Yes, you will."
