Chapter 29
A Storm Is Brewing
The sun shone brightly over the island as the crew ships worked harmoniously to restock supplies. Laughter filled the air as King TaeHan and Queen Asora mingled with the crew members, enjoying the camaraderie that had formed during their journey together.
As the day progressed, one of the crew members, named Daniel, spotted two ships in the distance. They seemed to be motionless, not making any effort to swim towards their location. Daniel's curiosity piqued, and he immediately ran to inform Queen Asora, who was engaged in a conversation with her wisemen, Lydia and Hugh.
Breathless, Daniel approached the queen and blurted out the news. Queen Asora's brows furrowed as she exchanged a concerned glance with her wise men. The Spaniard King had previously warned them about the possibility of encountering British ships, and now, their worst fears seemed to be materializing.
Without wasting a moment, Queen Asora ordered Lydia and Hugh to investigate the sighting. With a sense of urgency, the wisemen hurried to the beach, as they arrived their eyes were instantly fixated on the two distant ships. Time seemed to slow as they analyzed the situation, and upon their return to the Queen, their expressions were filled with uncertainty.
"We are unsure of their origin, Your Majesty," Lydia informed the queen. "However, one thing is clear – those ships are massive. It is either pirates or a fleet from a someone or nation with wealth."
Queen Asora looked calm, but her mind was racing to find a solution amidst the brewing storm. She knew that this was not the time for panic or rash decisions. Turning to her wisemen and advisors, she asked them to give her time to think. A sense of urgency filled the air as they all tried to discuss the situation further, but the queen's voice cut through their chatter.
"Enough!" she exclaimed, her command echoing across the beach. "Let me think."
With determined steps, Queen Asora distanced herself from the group, seeking solace and clarity. King Tae-Han, understanding the weight that burdened his beloved queen, followed after her. He found her at the lagoon, a hidden gem they had discovered late the previous night, its tranquil waters reflecting the golden hues of the setting sun.
"Let me be," Queen Asora whispered, her voice filled with a mix of vulnerability and frustration. But King TaeHan did not heed her words. Instead, he quietly walked towards her and settled himself beside her, his presence a comforting anchor in the storm of her thoughts.
He watched her silently, understanding the turmoil that waged within her. The memories of her family's tragic demise at the hands of brutal brothel owners and the countless lives lost during her people's fight for freedom flooded her mind. It was a burden she carried with her every day, a weight that now threatened to consume her.
Without a word, King TaeHan gently pulled his queen into his arms, cradling her in his lap. She resisted at first, her shoulders tense with the weight of her emotions. But gradually, as his body coolness eased her warm one, and soon she surrendered to the solace he offered.
Tears cascaded down Queen Asora's cheeks, and her sobs began to echo through the lagoon. The king held her tighter, as he pressed gentle kisses to her forehead, silently urging her to let go, to release the pain that resided within her.
In the embrace of her husband, Queen Asora found a safe haven to pour out her anguish. The memories, the grief, the anger, and the fear all spilled out, mingling with the gentle lapping of the lagoon's waters. She allowed herself to be vulnerable, to let her emotions flow freely, knowing that her husband was protecting her.
King Tae-Han listened, his heart breaking for the pain his queen had endured. He whispered words of comfort, understanding, and love, his voice a soothing balm to her wounded spirit. He reminded her of her resilience, her strength, and the power that lay within her to face any challenge that came their way.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Queen Asora's sobs subsided, her tears spent. She slightly pulled away from her husband's embrace, her eyes red and swollen.
"Thank you," she whispered, her voice trembling but resolute. "I needed that."
Tae-Han smiled, his eyes filled with pride and unwavering support. "You are never alone in this, my queen."
As the king looked into his Queen eyes, his gaze was filled with admiration and confidence. "What do you think we should do?" he asked, his voice gentle yet firm.
Queen Asora took a deep breath, her mind slowly trying to piece everything together. " I think two ships, including mine, will set sail to my country early tomorrow morning. We will deliver the news of our encounter and further prepare my homeland for any potential threat. The rest of the fleet will follow when the other ships have departed, if the ships do not move the remaining ships will not move either. What do you think?"
King Tae-Han nodded, understanding the logic behind her plan. "While I am not happy by you being in harms way, your idea is a wise course of action," he affirmed. "By sending the smaller group ahead, we can ensure the safety of the people. And the remaining ships can assess the situation here."
He paused for a moment, collecting his thoughts before continuing, he reminded himself that she was the ruler to her country and he needed to respectful, but honest. "Once we reach Jamaica, i think it is best to rally your forces, strengthen your defenses, and alert our allies. I will also have my country on alert and on standby. We must be prepared for any outcome, be it pirates or an invasion from the British, or even an invasion back in Joseon. But together, we can face whatever challenges lie ahead."
Queen Asora listened intently, she knew that his strategic mind and unwavering support were invaluable assets in their journey. "You are right," she replied, determination lacing her voice. "We shall not falter. We will stand tall and united, defending our people and our freedom."
With a sense of purpose, they began to outline the steps needed to execute their plan. They discussed the logistics, the communication channels, and the contingencies to ensure the safety of their crew and their mission. The weight of responsibility still lingered, but their shared resolve brought a glimmer of hope in the face of uncertainty.
As the sun began to set, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, they made their way back to the rest of the crew, ready to embark on the next phase of their journey. The atmosphere had shifted, the once carefree camaraderie replaced with a sense of purpose and seriousness.
Queen Asora addressed her wisemen and advisors, relaying her decision and the plan they had formulated. The crew members listened attentively, their trust in their Queen unwavering. Though there were concerns and questions, their faith in Queen Asora's ability to lead them through any storm was unshakeable. And as the Queen answered each of their questions and thoughts they felt even more confident of whatever lied ahead.
As the night settled in, a gentle glow was in their hut which was made by Queens Asora's people right on the edge of the camp on the beach for the royal couple privacy. King Tae-Han and Queen Asora found themselves seeking solace in the comfort of their bed. The weight of their responsibilities and the uncertainty of the future still lingered.
Queen Asora's heart yearned for the closeness and intimacy that only the love from her husband could provide. So she grazed her fingers lightly across the king's naked and chiseled chest, hoping to ignite the spark of desire between them. But King Tae-Han gently caught her hand, his touch cool and reassuring.
"My queen," he whispered, his voice filled with tender concern, "I would never reject you without real reason and right now, I fear that I will be overtaking you when you are going through so much. I don't think that's fair to you."
Queen Asora's eyes met his, filled with a mix of longing and admiration. She appreciated his respect and consideration, but her desire for comfort and connection outweighed any reservations.
"I appreciate the respect and care you have for me," she spoke softly, her voice laced with affection. "But in this moment, I need more than just respect. I need your love, your touch, and your presence to remind me of the strength we share, to comfort me. I need you to be my husband and satisfy my nerves."
King Tae-Han gazed into her eyes, his love for her evident in the depths of his gaze as they darkened into desire. With a nod and a tender smile, he leaned down, capturing her lips in a passionate kiss.
The king's touch was gentle yet filled with a deep longing, as he conveyed his love and desire for her. Their bodies moved together in a dance of love and connection, finding solace and comfort in the physical bond they shared. The queen's worries and fears began to dissipate as their bodies became entwined in a passionate embrace.
While the Queen wanted fast and furious, the king took it slow like their first night together. Their love-making was not just an act of physical pleasure but a profound expression of their emotional connection. And with each caress, each kiss, each thrust he wanted her to know that he was committed to her in every way.
As the night wore on, they laid entwined in each other's arms, they found comfort in the knowledge that no matter what challenges they faced, they would face them together. Love, strength, and unity would be their guiding lights as they navigated the stormy seas that lay ahead.
"Thank you Han," The Queen said sleepily.
The King gave her a long kiss before pulling away and kissing her forehead. "No, thank you for trusting me."
The Queen have a faint smile before drifting off to sleep.... My husband is one of a kind.
