Prologue

King Dice runs into the room after hearing his wife and daughter scream only to be grabbed from behind. He struggles in the person's grip to try and save his family from being pulled through the portal.

"No! Don't take them!"

"Dice!!!"

King Dice looks around his room after jolting awake from another nightmare about the day he watched his parents die. He runs a hand down his face and gets out of bed, ready to begin yet another day of walking around town, trying to get his mind off of the nightmare that's been plaguing him since the day it happened.

"DICE RUN!" His father had yelled just before the gunshot went off.

"PAPA!!!" He had screamed while the tears streamed down his face as his father collapsed.

"DICE PLEASE JUST GO!!!" His mother had been trying to keep him from watching but another gunshot went off before the boy who did it disappeared and the young King Dice had fallen to his knees by his mother's body.

He couldn't take it anymore. He quickly ran out of the house and into the city, intending to buy something, anything he could use to leave this wretched world. He didn't know there was someone else with his exact same intention.

"H- Hello?" The woman in front of him in the gun shop jumps and turns to face him. His eyes widen once he sees that she was human instead of a creature like him and everyone else in his world. He looked at her flowing auburn hair, then at her pale skin, and then her beautiful amber colored eyes. He felt a smile, a real smile, creeping onto his face and she smiles back.

"Hi. I- I'm Moira." Moira. What a beautiful name for a one of a kind girl. King Dice thinks.

"I'm King Dice. I'm---"

"A creature, I know. I'm the only human here after my parents were murdered by my own brother. He left me here, thinking I would suffer the same fate, but---"

"You didn't." King Dice looks at her. "You... Wanted to end it all today, didn't you? The nightmares, the suffering, all of it?" Moira nods. "I didn't think anyone else here had the same intention as me."

"Neither did I, Dice." For a split second his face paled but then it went back to normal and a slight blush creeps into his cheeks. He smiles at her and stutters out his next response.

"G- G- Gee, I g- g -guess we b- b- both have t- t- two things in c- c- common."

"Wait what?" King Dice clears his throat and sighs.

"We both watched our parents die and we were both planning on ending our suffering today... Maybe our fates intertwined?"

"Maybe." Moira pulls out her phone. "Can- Can I have your number? So we can talk more and not end it all?" King Dice nods and pulls out his phone. He hands it to Moira with a contact he created for her already up on her phone and she hands him hers with his contact already up. They both quickly make a profile photo and put in their numbers before handing the phone back to the other person.

"I hope to see you around soon, Moira!" Moira smiles.

"I hope the same thing, Dice. Bye!" Moira quickly runs out of the shop and into the street. Neither of them could wait until they saw the other person again.
