Chapter 2: A Stranger's Lust

Moira's POV

I jolt awake as I scream after a nightmare from when my life was shattered by my brother before my eyes. I look around my new room to try and calm down, quickly turning to the door to see King Dice running into the room moments later.

"Moira?! Are you alright?!" I try to calm down my breathing as I look at him in tears.

"N- No... I- It was another n- nightmare... A- About what J- Jayden did t- to my m- mom and d- dad..." I watched as his face paled at the mention of my brother's name.

"What does Jayden look like...?" I sigh before remembering my psychotic, murderous brother.

"He... He has amber eyes like me but... His hair was brown and at random moments his eye color randomly shifted to blue, like after an accident or something..." His face was very pale at this point.

"Can it be...?" He mutters just loud enough for me to hear. "I think... I think your brother's the one that killed my parents before he left you here to die..." My face was pale and I tried to control my breathing after it quickened. King Dice noticed this and quickly ran over to my side. "Hey, hey, Jayden isn't gonna come back anytime soon, I promise!" I quickly pull him into a tight hug and he immediately hugs back. I could feel his heart pounding in his chest as I bury my head into it, shocking him a lot.
I do the craziest things when I wake up from a nightmare. He sits down on the bed next to me and looks me in the eye.

"I'm not leaving until you go back to sleep." I nod and lay back down in bed to try and go back to sleep.

After a few hours of not getting any sleep, King Dice and I got a coffee for ourselves before he went to work at the casino. I smile a little as I pull out my phone and change the lock screen to the picture he and I took at the coffee shop. I blush a little as his warm smile melts my heart a little, his caring eyes staring into my soul, my head resting on his shoulder in the photo. I hold my phone close to my chest after I change the lock screen and sigh. I look at the door, debating whether or not to go out to town and buy something for King Dice after he helped me out this morning. I make my decision and nod as I go out to the store, intent on buying him something special, like a deck of cards or a pair of dice.

"Miss?" I jump as I turn to face the voice that came from behind me, which belonged to a... Carrot? "Sorry for startling you!"

"No, it- it's fine." I stutter out.

"Okay...? Well, anyways, I was wondering what someone like you is doing out here all alone~" I slowly back away from him and into the isle with the decks of cards. He walks up to me with a lustful look in his eyes. I kick him back and grab a deck of cards before running out of the isle in the other direction. I can hear him running after me but suddenly he stops. I get turned around and I'm met face-to-face by a very concerned King Dice.

"Moira?! Are you okay?!"

"D- Dice...!!!" He hugs me tightly and I hug back while crying into his chest. He holds me close as he rubs my back in a comforting manner.

"Hey, hey, it's okay, it's okay. You're safe now." I bury my face in his chest but we both suddenly freeze after hearing someone snap a picture of us. We both slowly let go of each other and turn to face The Devil. He had my phone in his hands.

"Sorry for scaring the two of you like that. Moira, you lost your phone when you were running away from Chauncey Chantenay - the carrot that was chasing you - and I saw that encounter between you and King Dice so I snapped a photo. Nice lock screen, by the way." He smirks as he tosses me my phone, which I easily catch. He grabs Chauncey and drags him out the door of the shop. Dice and I look at each other and I sigh.

"Moira what were you doing here? Let alone alone?!"

"I wanted to buy you a deck of cards!" I quickly pay for the cards and hand them to King Dice. His eyes widen as he looks at me and holds them close.

"Thank you, Moira...!"

"No problem, Dice." I yelp in surprise as I'm pulled into a tight hug before I chuckle and hug him back.

"Let's go home. I took off early after the Devil let me know about Chauncey." I nod and walk out of the store with an ecstatic King Dice right behind me..

I sigh in relief as I walk into the house with King Dice. He smiles at me and suddenly covers my eyes.

"Dice?"

"I have a surprise for you." I giggle a little as I let him lead me to the surprise he has for me.

"Will I like the surprise?" ("Simba, it's to die for." - Scar, The Lion King) King Dice chuckles slightly.

"Yes, Moira. You're gonna love it." I smile as I listen for any clues as to what the surprise is. I suddenly hear a bark and my eyes are uncovered. I gasp before running to the puppy in front of me that clearly came from a world where creatures don't exist. I look at King Dice in shock and sheer delight as I pick up the puppy.

"Thank you...!" He chuckles.

"You're welcome! So what are we gonna name her?"

"We?" He nods.

"She's our responsibility now." I nod. "So what should we---?"

"Luna." King Dice smiles and nods.

"That's a perfect name for her." I smile at Luna and King Dice before running back into the house with them both. I place Luna on the ground and smile as she wanders around the living room but suddenly squeal in surprise as I'm grabbed from behind by King Dice and twirled in the air. I laugh as Luna yips happily at us and King Dice puts me back down on the ground. Luna runs up to us and I smile as I pet her.

"We need to---"

"Her food, bowl, and treats are in the kitchen, her collar is in your room, and she's already potty trained." I smile at him before hugging him tightly.

3rd Person Dialogue

"They're getting too close to each other."

"I know, Jayden."

"We need to separate my sister and that King Dice dude."

"But how, my lord?"

"We must figure out something my little servant."

"Maybe... Let it seem like they're getting their happily ever after then when the time is right we rip their family apart."

"I like that."

"So is that the plan, my lord and savior Jayden?"

"Yes. Indeed it is."

So one of the mystery people from the description has had his name revealed. It seems they want to separate Moira and King Dice forever. They've already hatched a plan and they have to wait a while before enacting it. How will it all go down? Will their plan backfire? Will they succeed? Find out later on in King Dice's Daughter || Cuphead ||

Let's see what happens when I finally go back to enact my plan with my loyal servant when it gets to that part of the story, shall we?
