Letter 5

It's been quite a while since I wrote to you. Did you know I turned 13 this year?

I went back in there. To the basement.

I remembered every little detail of your life. My body could not take it. The memories. I was fighting with fate to live.

I won. We won. Your voice encouraged me to live.

I told brother everything, Lan Zhan. He knew about you, about me and about us.

Did you know, he was your brother too? We spoke. We spoke a lot. I finally realised one thing, we always had him, but we were never there for him.

That saddened me.

I asked him when and how he remembered you? He said he'd tell me one day.

It took me quite a while to recoup, in the meanwhile I dreamt more about you.

I no longer feel the burden but a small excitement to meet Wei.

Wei.

He's the cause for my existence, isn't he?

Through you, I have come to understand him. Through you, I have understood what it is to love someone unconditionally.

If I meet him one day, I promise to cherish him. Get to know him. Befriend him.

I am leaving Lan Zhan, going to a place called Seoul. Irony isn't it. I do not know, when I'll be writing to you next.

Brother wants me to lead a normal life.

Is there anything normal about this? Time will tell.
