Name meaning
It's based off of the name of the spirit 'Kuchisake-Onna'. He uses it since that's the name others used, and it was better than coming up with his own.

Appearance
The first distinguishable traits are his height. He stands at just 4'9, and he doesn't have any visible strength.
In fact, most would often pass him off for a child, if they didn't see his face.

His face, however, is lacking in humanity entirely. What may have once been a rather attractive face is now the display of YEARS of torment. His eyes, which were once a brilliant blue, have grown dull and emotionless, and at first glance will often appear red.
His mouth is far worse. Stretching from mouth to ear, his scars are DEEP. In fact, there simply is no skin as far back as his cheekbones, and the skin between there and his ears are still heavily scarred.
His hair is arguably the only normal part of him. Glossy and black, it reaches down to his shoulder blades.

Personality
Despite his past, Ku's a rather... energetic person. He seems incredibly outgoing and genial, often sharing laughs with those around him.
However, he's certainly an 'all or nothing' person when it comes to moods. If you're unlucky enough to anger him, there is no 'slight' option. He jumps straight to violence almost immediately, which has lead to him getting his ass kicked about 50% of the time. Thankfully, getting him mad isn't exactly easy. The only thing that really seems to set him off is mistreatment, bc it of himself or someone else.

kyojuro Rengoku
Admittedly, this was probably a one sided relationship. Ku LOVED Kyojuro, finding his pure heart and pleasant personality to be golden traits.
Kyojuro, however, didn't quite like Ku so much. He didn't dislike him, but he was definitely more neutral than anything.

Mitsuri Kanroji
Mitsuri being so... Mitsuri, Ku easily found himself drawn to her. Her being so positive and harmless also meant he was MORE than willing to continue hanging around her.
And Mitsuri, being Mitsuri, loves Ku like the rest of the Hashira.

Gyomei Himejima
To Ku, Gyomei is kind of like a giant puppy. Namely in that he would rather die than see anything bad happen to him.
But past that, he's basically the only person aside from Kaguya that he trusts entirely.
He's MORE than willing to kill for him.

Breathing
Spirit breathing.
An offshoot of wind breathing, spirit breathing replicates the illogical themes of spirits to create unexpected, hard to predict attacks. Most techniques involve using Ku's small size, light weight, and great agility to create movements and attacks that would otherwise be impossible to normal people, as well as requiring a Naginata

First form, Yosozume
By using their weapon to launch into the air, the user can attack with a flurry of jabs at high targets, or down onto targets on the ground.

Second form, Fujin.
Arguably one of the most commonly used techniques, Fujin involves spinning the weapon repeatedly to gain momentum, allowing more powerful cuts to be performed, whilst also making it harder to deflect or avoid

Third form, Kitsune
While not necessarily a good method of attacking in and of itself, it DOES provide openings, and can really screw with demons.
By making short, rapid jumps, the user can seemingly appear in several places at once, or simply 'teleport' from place to place to taunt and demoralise an enemy

Fourth form, Ashimagari
The user ducks low and attacks at the legs of their target through several rotating slashes

Fifth form, Betobeto
Very similarly to Kitsune, this serves more to create openings and demoralise.
However, instead of stopping to draw the eye, they simply create footsteps ALL around, acting to disorient a demon and stop their ears from being useful

Weapon
A semi-standard Naginata in design.
However, there is a thin, nichirin 'wrapping' that extends down the handle, providing strength as well as allowing the back end to be far more useful for killing demons

Strengths
Given his small size, he's incredibly hard to hit.
Not only that, he's also faster and more agile than the bigger Hashira, even if it is only noticeable during smaller movements
He can handle pain REALLY well. The only way to stop him fighting is to die, kill him, or mess up his body beyond function

Weaknesses
He's small. He's nowhere near as strong as the other Hashira, which is why he needs to rely on using a Naginata to manage to make cuts.
His weapon, of course, needs room to use

Backstory
It's certainly not a pleasant one.
His mother died during labour, which resulted in him having to grow up under the 'care' of his father and older brother.
Initially, the two resented him, seeing him as the reason his mother had died, resulting in about a decade of daily beatings, neglect, and torment.

Things only got worse when he was ten. Once his hair had grown out and his face had matured, he was unfortunate enough to take after his mother, which gave his father the sick idea of turning him into her replacement. As for his brother... well, he simply joined in.
That's also when they started gagging him, since his constant begging apparently put them off.
Eight years of that made him desperate enough to try and escape, which he did. He damn near tore his jaw off to get rid of the gag, and ended up killing both the people who'd tortured him for so long.
Then he wandered, until some nice couple let him stay with them. That's where he learned to fight, and where he decided to become a slayer.
He couldn't kill every monster, but he could certainly kill the ones who happened to be demons.

Trivia
He despises having anything over his mouth that he hasn't personally placed there, for obvious reasons.
He actually kind of enjoys screwing with people by pretending to be the real Kuchisake-Onno. 'Do you think I'm pretty' is basically the first thing he asks most new people
