Kim knocked on the door to Adam's house.

Adam said," Hey, how can I help you, Kim?

Kim said," Kendall Burgess, Scarlett Burgess, Arlo Burgess, and Amari Burgess are wondering when you can come over, Adam.

Adam said," How about tomorrow morning? I need to call Zach, my older brother, and yell at him for leaving you while pregnant.

Kim said," Adam, he shot at you and my dad. I'm not letting him near you or my kids. Please don't go near him. I don't want him to hurt you again. What are you hoping to gain while talking to Zach, Adam? Tell me now.

Adam answered," I'm hoping to get answers.

Kim said," Okay. There's something else that I wanted to ask you. Would you like to go on a date with me when the kids are at my dad's house tomorrow? Say like 7 pm or am.

Adam said," Yes, I would love to go on a date with you tomorrow. I'll let you know where.

Kim left for her house and saw her dad playing with the kids and smiled at her dad and kids playing together. She took a picture and put it in the album she got for her kids.

With Adam Ruzek and his older brother Zach Ruzek.

Adam knocked on the door, and Zach answered the door and smiled when he saw Adam and hugged him. Adam hugged back.

Zach said," I'm so sorry for shooting you. I thought you were a guy named Puplo.

Adam said," What do you mean when you said," I thought I was a guy named Puplo, Z?

Zach lets Adam inside the house and shows Adam to the office and hands Adam a box.

Zach said," Open it, and you'll see why I'm scared for my life, little brother. Just open it.

Adam opened the box to discover letters from the time Zach was 17 and Kim was 16.

The letter said this.

Hello Zach,

I hope you are doing well. You have such a beautiful girlfriend. How would you feel if I were to suddenly kill her and you unborn babies? I have a sniper outside her house.

If you don't do as I say, I will kill everyone you love, including your little brother Adam Ruzek, your twin sister Zelda, Kim Burgess, who is pregnant, your parents and grandparents I already killed tried to your best friend, Christopher Vincent. Think about this. I know you want what's best for your family, your girlfriend and her unborn babies, and all of your best friends at high school.

I have people following you all day, every day.

I demand that you leave everyone you love and start a new life with me as your leader.

Adam put his head in his hands and looked at Zach, who was trying not to cry now.

Adam softly said," Come here, Zach, big bro.

Zach immediately hugged his little brother Adam Ruzek, who was sitting on the couch.

Adam said," It's alright, Zach. I'm here now. I'll stay the night tonight if you want me to.

Zach said," Please stay. What if he comes?

Adam said," Then I will be here to keep you safe from Puplo and his dangerous man.

Zach said," Thank you, baby bro. I love you.

Adam said," You're welcome, Zach, but make sure to tell Kim everything. She thinks you hate her and doesn't want to meet your kids.

Zach said," I will explain when she is willing to listen to me and not walk away from me.

Adam said," Okay. I'll go to my house and pack a bag and I'll stay the night with you.

Zach nods and falls asleep in his arms, and then Adam covers him up with a blanket.

Adam then returned to the run-down apartment he had been living in for a few weeks and packed a bag for the night and got inside his car and heads to Zach's house.

Adam enters the house with a house key that Zach gave him and made dinner for them, and then Zach woke up.

Zach said," What are we having for dinner?

Adam said," We are having spaghetti for dinner. Go take a shower and we'll eat.

Zach nods and heads to his room and gets a shower, dresses in PJ'S, and heads downstairs to see Adam fixing him a plate.

Adam said," Eat, bro. You're safe with me.
Zach said," Thank you, Adam. You're the best little brother ever. Thank you for this.

Adam said," You're welcome, big brother.

Zach and Adam ate their dinner and watched the Blackhawks lose against the cubs, and then they headed to bed themselves for the night, and they fell asleep in their respective bedrooms.

The next morning

Adam woke up and took a shower and got dressed in a red button-up shirt with jeans and red tennis shoes and a blue Hoddie.

Adam made sure to get his gun and badge and heads downstairs to make breakfast.

He made pancakes, bacon, and fruit for him and Zach and sets the table and fixes him a plate and sets it on the table just as Zach comes into the kitchen dressed in work clothes and he looks at what Adam made.

He started crying, happy tears, and hugged his brother, and Adam hugged Zach back.

Zach said," You made pancakes, bacon, and  fruit just like mom used to make on Sundays. Adam, you're an amazing brother.

Adam said," You're welcome, little brother. Now I have something to ask you. Can I take the letters you received from Puplo and give them to Hank, my boss in the Intelligence unit. I want to do everything I can to protect you from Puplo and his dangerous man.

Zach said," Yes, you can take the letters.

Adam hands Zach his plate, and he started eating his breakfast, and Zach did the dishes, and both then headed to their respective jobs.

Adam was the first to arrive at the 21st district and walked up to the Intelligence unit, and knocked on the door to Hank's office. Hank said," Ruzek, you're early. Come in and close the door, please. It's just us.

Adam said," Of course, boss. I need advice.

Adam stepped inside the office and closed the door, and sat down in one of the chairs.

Hank said," Is everything okay with Zach?

Adam said," No, it's not. He's been getting threatening letters from Our Prisoner Puplo.

Hank said," Did you bring the letters, Adam?

Adam said," Yes, I brought them with me. I asked Zach, and he said yes. Here is the box.

Adam puts the box in front of Hank, and Hank opens it to find all kinds of threatening letters from Puplo and his man.

Hank then goes and gets Alvin, and the 2 men look through all the letters Zach got.

Hank said," Do not tell anyone else about this and especially not Burgess. I'll tell her myself. She'll handle it better if it comes from me. I'll let you know how this goes.

Adam said," Yes, boss. I will not say a word.

Alvin said," Yes, Hank, I won't say anything.

The 3 men left Hank's office, and Hank gave them a case, and they started working right away, and they acted like they were ok.

It's now the end of the day, and Kim picks up her kids Kendall, Arlo, Scarlett, and Amari from Daycare and dropped them at her dad's Calvin's house in Lake Short Drive.

She then heads back to her house, nervous.

She looks through her closet and eventually settles on a dark green knee-length skirt with a long-sleeved black shirt with a blue sweater, red boots, and white leggings and grabbed her pink, green and orange purse.

She heads to her car and drives to the reception called Green Hil for her date with Adam, and she hoped it went well for them.

Adam was being helped by Zach into the car, and Adam was wearing a red button-up shirt with jeans, a dark green Hoddie and white socks, and red and black tennis shoes.

Zach parked in front of the restaurant and helped Adam out of the car and helped Adam get inside the restaurant and they immediate found Kim's table and Adam pushed out Kim's chair for her and pushed her chair up to the table and Zach helped Adam sit down at the table and he kisses Adam on his head and leaves the restaurant.

Kim said," So how's your leg healing up? How's your family doing and you, of course?

Adam said," I'm good. Recovery is good, and my family is doing well. Thanks for asking. How are you? How are the kids doing?

Kim said," The kids are doing great. They want to meet you soon. Especially Kendall.

Adam said," I will meet them soon one day, Kim. Let's just see how this date goes, Kim.

Kim said," I agree with you, Adam. Let's go really slow and see where it goes from here.

The waitress came by and asked," My name is Audra. What, can I get you 2 to drink tonight?

Kim said," Can I please have water to drink?

Audra said," Of course and for you, sir. Sir?

Adam said," Can I have a Dr. Pepper to drink?

Audra said," Of course, sir. And to eat?

Kim said," I'll have a salad with chicken, please, and thank you.

Adam said," I'll have the chicken parmigiana, please, and thank you.

Audra said," Of course. Let me get your drinks and food to the chef right away.

She heads to the kitchen and gives the chef their orders, and the drinks are served first, and then their food is served next.

Kim ate her salad slowly and quietly as well.

Adam ate his chicken parmigiana slowly and quietly as well.

They drank their drinks and enjoyed the date and had fun together with each other.

Adam said," Hey, Ms. Can I get the bill, please? We're finished up here.

Audra said," Of course. Let me get your bill.

She handed Adam the bill, and he paid for it, and then they left the restaurant together.

Adam said," It was a nice date, Kim. Night.

Kim said," Yes, it was a fun date. Night Adam. They both headed to their own cars.

They drove home to their respective houses.

Kim got out of her car, having just picked up her kids from her dad's Calvin's house.

Kim puts her kids to bed. She got a shower, dressed in PJ’S, brushed her teeth, and headed to bed, and she's under the covers.

Adam arrives at his run-down apartment and gets a shower, dressed in PJ’S, brushes his teeth and heads to bed, and is under the covers.
