Okay so this chapter is reaaallly long, and I spent a hella long time on it so enjoy :D

It has been about 2 weeks since Lapis saw Steven, and she hasn't really been the same. What I mean by that is that she has been spending a lot of nights just staring into space with tears in her eyes, or just being silent for the most part. I've tried to ask her what's wrong, but she denies that anything is wrong. Maybe it's just a phase, I thought. I mean, she still gives me a lot of attention and I give her a lot of attention - it's just different...

"Lapis...is this about Steven?" I asked, watching as her eyes were glued to the floor below her. We were in her room and she was sitting on the bed and I sat beside her. She snapped out of her trance and looked over at me slowly with a blank expression. "I miss him...I really didn't wanna leave him..." Lapis said, tears filling her eyes. I pulled Lapis into my lap to where she was straddling me and my arms were wrapped around her waist. I kissed her on the lips and wiped away the tear rolling down her cheek.

"I know you miss him, and he probably misses you more knowing that you're alive now...but he's the safest he can be right now under these circumstances..." I told her in a soft tone. "I know, I know...I just wish that I could've done so much more for him..." Lapis said, sniffling. Her eyes were puffy and her face was flushed, but she somehow still looked beautiful. 

"I'm sorry..." I muttered, pulling her in, her chin resting on my shoulder. She wrapped her arms around my midsection, and she pulled me in tighter, sniffling. "Hey...why don't we get out for a while and get your mind off of it?" I offered. She pulled away from the embrace and looked at me with sad eyes. She tried her best to smile through her tears, and she slowly nodded her head. I checked my phone, and it read 10:27 PM. 

Lapis grabbed her pocketknife, phone, gun and leather jacket and I did the same. We headed out the door, and Lapis pulled out a pack of cigarettes. She pulled one out and placed it between her lips, lighting it with her blue lighter. She stuffed the lighter and pack back in her pockets and she intertwined her fingers with mine as we walked down the hall. 

We rode the elevator down to the 'UG' work room, and as soon as the door opened, Lapis pulled me along, puffing out a cloud of smoke. I followed, and I looked around at all of the workers, busy minding their business. Bismuths hammering tools and weapons on  their anvils, Jaspers playing poker, Pearls serving members, Peridots repairing broken drones, and many others.

When I looked over at the Bismuths again, a slight pain washed over me for a moment. An image of our Bismuth's face popped into my head, and I closed my eyes for a moment. "You okay?" Lapis asked suddenly, and my eyes shot open. "Oh yeah, I-I'm fine..." I said, smiling. The bluenette nodded, and we kept walking until we almost reached the end of the room. Lapis looked over at a Pearl and snapped her fingers loudly, ordering her to come over here.

"Pearl, I need you to--" a sudden explosion from the higher floors echoed the room. The whole floor went silent, and everyone looked up. A Ruby then ran out the doors of the elevator into here, looking panicked as hell. "BOSS! BOSS! WE HAVE TROUBLE!" she shouted, running up to Lapis. Lapis then ran to the utility closet, and I followed closely behind. "W-what's going on?!" I asked, panicking. "Not sure, but it's nothing good." she replied, pulling machine gun from the small closet.

"GUYS, MAN YOUR STATIONS! WE GOT SOMETHING BIG COMIN'!!!!" Lapis shouted at the top of her lungs for the whole gang to hear. They all began to scatter and gather weapons and take their positions. I pulled my knife and gun out, trembling with fear. Lapis took the cig from her mouth, and flicked it into a wastebin. She then loaded the heavy weapon she was holding. Not gonna lie - she looked badass.

I guess Lapis noticed my trembling, because she gave me a really concerned expression. "Peridot are you okay?!" Lapis asked, putting a hand on my shoulder. I hesitated. "I...I-I'm scared, Lapis..." I mumbled. You fucking pussy. Both of the bluenette's eyebrows lifted, and she looked at me with genuine concern. "We're gonna be okay. Whatever happens, I'm here for you." Lapis said in a reassuring tone. 

There was then an explosion at the elevator doors, startling both of us. Bombs then detonated all around of us. "What the fuck?!" Lapis shouted as the bombs in every corner were blowing up, killing nearby gang members. "HOW DID THEY SNEAK BOMBS INTO HERE?!" I yelled, ducking with Lapis behind a trashcan. 

There was nearby beeping sound, and Lapis looked at the device with wide eyes. She then grabbed my sleeve and yanked me out of the corner, and the explosion pushed us forward. We both landed on our stomachs near the center of the room. I groaned in pain, and Lapis was already up on her feet again. She helped me up, and I watched as she began shooting at the gang who just broke in - Yup, you guessed it, the Crystal Gems. 

Unfortunately, the Crystal Gems were dodging the bullets, and it didn't look like Steven was with them - so Lapis wasn't careful at all. Garnet then moved out of the way, and there stood Steven, looking more afraid than ever. Lapis then seized fire, and it looked like she froze. "Lapis! LAPIS!!" I shouted, shaking her, but she wouldn't budge. 

Their Pearl then ran at me full speed, and kicked me in the stomach, sending me in the air. My back then hit against the back wall, and I fell down onto my stomach. I slowly lifted my head, and I saw Lapis then running toward me yelling my name. Garnet then tackled her onto the floor. "LAPIS!!!" I hollered, reaching my hand forward. 

Pearl then grabbed me by the arm, and lifted me up. I kicked and thrashed, trying to escape her grip. "LET GO OF ME YOU CLOD!!!" I screeched. She then kneed me in  the stomach several times. I also noticed Amethyst shooting all of our gang members, and I could only watch as one by one they fall. I figured that Pearl would leave me alone if she thought I was unconscious, so I went limp and closed my eyes. She then dropped me onto the floor, and ran away. 

I also saw Lapis in the distance, slowly getting up after Garnet left. I slowly got up too, but soon regretted it as Amethyst spotted me getting up. "HEY!" she shouted across the room, and she used this long-ass whip and cracked it at my ankles, forcing a pained screech from my throat. Garnet then came and grabbed me by the collar of my shirt, and lifted me off of the ground. I could hear Steven pleading them to stop hurting us, but they wouldn't listen. 

Lapis then watched in terror as Garnet tossed me full-force against a wall, the back of my head immediately hitting it with a loud thud. I fell forward onto my stomach, and this time I didn't lift my head because I was too weak and in pain. "PERIDOOOT!!!" I heard Lapis holler across the room. I then gathered enough strength to lift my head after about 3 minutes of pained struggling.

I could see Pearl holding some type of gun that looked pretty techy. She then pointed it at Lapis, who was once again sitting on the floor against a corner. "L-Lap-is..." I tried yelling, but my voice was too weak. Pearl then pulled the trigger, and some type of little vaccine shot out of it, and injected Lapis's arm, and she flinched in pain. 

Lapis then started growling, and she was thrashing and kicking on the floor. The Crystal Gems backed up, and Steven looked traumatized. Lapis's eyes began to glow, and she bared her now sharp teeth. Her arms and legs grew thicker, and her clothes slightly tore. She then ripped the shot out of her arm, and she stood up slowly, towering over the Crystal Gems. 

"L-LAPIIIIISSSS!!!!!!" I screeched with all of my strength, and began to cry out hopelessly. She's gone, I thought as hot tears rushed down my face. She let out a loud roar, and she began ripping our gang members to shreds one by one, and all I could do was watch. After all of our gang members were dead, I was the only one left, and Lapis looked at me creepily with those glowing blue eyes. 

"L-Lapis?" I muttered in a cracky voice as I scooted backward until I hit a wall. She stormed toward me, making inhuman grunting noises as she got closer. She lifted her big-ass hand up, and swooped down at my face and I screamed in horror, closing my eyes tightly. 

"AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" I screeched as I suddenly lifted my face up off of the ground. I felt a hand on my shoulder, and I looked to the right to see who it was. "LAPIS!" I shouted, and I got up and hugged her tightly. I was sobbing tears of joy as Lapis hugged me back. "W-what happened?! I-I thought...what?!" I asked, pulling away from the hug. "Garnet knocked you out cold when she threw you against that wall..." Lapis explained. 

I then noticed the throbbing pain pulsing in the back of my head and suddenly remembered the impact. It was a dream, I thought, and sighed in relief. I then looked around, and noticed that all of our gang members were...dead. "I...w-we lost..." I muttered, more tears filling my eyes. "Yeah...I know...the Crystal Gems really had a concrete plan this time...but they still haven't killed us..." Lapis said. "H-huh?" I then looked at the Crystal Gems standing there in silence, staring at us with cold expressions. 

"You have nowhere else to go, guys. So you either be one of us or die..." Amethyst said, crossing her arms pridefully. I then looked at Steven, who had a smile on his face. I looked at Lapis, who had a very conflicted expression, and she bit her lip in deep thought. She then looked at me in defeat, and I gave her a sympathetic look. "I...sigh....fine....we literally have nowhere else to go..." Lapis said reluctantly, rolling her eyes. 

Steven then jumped for joy, Garnet nodded, Pearl sighed, and Amethyst pumped her fist, yelling "WOOP WOOP! NEW GUYS!" "Ugh..." Lapis groaned as I helped her up. "Let's just get the fuck outta here..." she muttered, shoving her hands in her pockets.

WOOP WOOP THAT TOOK FOREVER BUT THE CHAPTER IS FINALLY DONE!!! There's gonna be one more chapter next, then I'm gonna close this book! Oml I appreciate all of the attention this book got from you guys! I love you all so much!!! :DDD
