The Words (Short fic) Part 3
A/N: This is part 3 of The Words do not read if you haven't read parts 1 and 2. Also this part gets a little steamy so you've been warned.
"So..you and Killian?" Ariel said before taking a sip from her coffee.
"Yeah, it was two years ago. A one time thing." Mckenna assured her.
"How did you two even meet?" Ariel asked.
"Kenna was my best friend Gil's wife. She took a trip to Ireland as part of a college class and snuck away from the group and found her way into a pub." Killian smirked. Mckenna laughed.
"And you and Gil were drunk, and cat calling me." She said smiling at the memory.
"Sounds..interesting." Ariel smiled but Mckenna could tell this was incredibly awkward for her. "So, Connor..thats his name right? the baby?" Ariel asked. Mckenna nodded.
"Yes. My sister should be bringing him by in a few minutes so you can meet him." Mckenna smiled. "Do you like kids?"
"Oh I love them!" Ariel grinned. "I can't wait until we can have one." She said and took Killian's hand in hers. Mckenna felt a pang of jealousy and tried desperately to push it back.
"Well whats with the wait? You are getting married after all." Mckenna shrugged.
"Oh..we aren't sleeping together yet." Ariel said. Mckenna almost choked on her coffee.
"I'm sorry..what?" She asked.
"Ariel wants to wait until we are married before having sex." Killian said.
"Ohh.. Okay." Mckenna said. Killian must have really loved her because the Killian she knew, long before Gil passed was a womanizer and as if he knew what she was thinking his eyes begged her not to bring it up.
"Well good for you." Mckenna smiled. "It's definitely not for everyone."
"You and Gil didn't wait?" Ariel asked. Mckenna laughed.
"Uh.. no definitely not. I'm um.. Not what you would call a patient person." Mckenna said her cheeks had turned bright pink and Killian was trying his best to hide a smirk. Jenna walked into the coffee shop with Connor.
"Oh our little guest of honor is here." Mckenna smiled and went to stand. Her breath hitched in her throat as she realized that somehow during that conversation Her leg, and Killian's had gotten tangled together under the table. She cleared her throat and moved her leg before standing and walking over to Jenna.
"Everything going okay?" Jenna whispered "I'll kick her ass if you need me to Kenna." She said.
"It's fine Jenna, she's actually really nice." Mckenna shrugged.
"Okay. I'll be out in the car if you need me." Jenna said and walked outside. Mckenna carried Connor over to the table.
"Oh he's precious!" Ariel squeaked and reached out. Mckenna was a little hesitant but handed Connor over. Connor fussed a little and reached for Mckenna.
"It's okay baby. I'm here." She smiled. Ariel bounced him in her lap and played with him. "Oh I can't wait until we keep him for a couple of nights." She smiled.
"You say that until he wakes you up at 3 in the morning screaming." Mckenna laughed.
"So..why did you never tell Killian about him until now?" Ariel asked. Mckenna sighed.
"For my own stupid, and selfish reasons." She said and frowned and gave Killian and apologetic look.
"I'm really sorry." She said. Killian reached out and put his hand on top of hers. Mckenna felt a familiar sense of static electricity coursing through her and had to restrain herself from jumping over the table and attacking his lips with hers.
"I've had time to calm down Kenna I think we can put it past us and just focus on what's doing best for Connor." Killian smiled.
"Good." Mckenna said returning his smile.
Months Later
Mckenna came home after work and threw her keys on the counter. Jenna came out of her kitchen and frowned.
"Rough day?" She asked.
"Understatement of the year." Mckenna sighed. "How were the kids?"
"They were good. Rylee is in the kitchen doing her homework."
"Good." Mckenna smiled. "You can go home if you want. I got it from here."
"Nah. I'm staying and you are going to go upstairs, shower, put on something sexy and go out." Jenna said. Mckenna just laughed.
"Uh. I'm good."
"Come on, You've had one bad day after another for the last two years. You owe it to yourself to go out, have a couple of drinks and maybe get laid..no especially get laid. You've been pretty bitchy." Jenna smirked. Mckenna rolled her eyes.
"Jenna, really I just want to chill here." She sighed.
"I'm not taking no for an answer. Now go. Get ready. Pick something from my closet in the spare room if you have to."
Mckenna groaned and got off the couch and walked upstairs to get ready.
-------------------------------------------
"Jenna.. I don't know about this." Mckenna sighed and looked at the full length mirror. She was wearing an incredibly tight black mini dress and was just inches away from showing everything she owned and a pair of stilettos that could probably be used as a murder weapon
"You look great!" Jenna said and pinned back her hair a little.
"I look like you." Mckenna said.
"Like I said, you look great." Jenna smirked. Rylee walked in the room.
"Ooo pretty!" She smiled.
"Thank you baby." Mckenna said and smiled down at her daughter.
"When can I wear stuff like that?" Rylee asked.
"Never!" Jenna and Mckenna said at the same time. Rylee pouted.
"Where are you going mum?" She asked.
"I'm just going out for a little because your aunt refuses to let me stay home." Mckenna smiled.
"Are you going to see Uncle Killian?" Rylee asked.
"We've talked about this Ryles Killian is getting married next summer. Mommy and Killian are not getting together."
Rylee just frowned and walked out of the room.
Mckenna knew. She knew this was a bad idea but she couldn't stop herself from parking her car outside of Killians bar and getting out and walking in. Jena did say she needed to get a few drinks and her friendship with Killian had been mended, the co parented without a problem and Mckenna was even getting used to Ariel. She was jealous of Ariel, but she wouldn't tell Killian. She didn't want to screw up his happiness. so why was she walking into his bar, dressed like a hooker? especially after telling her 7 year old that she was not going to see Killian, what kind of example was she setting and why the hell was she still walking up the the Goddamn bar??
Killian looked up from the bar as she approached. His eyes widened and he raised an eyebrow at her.
"Kenna.." He said.
"Hey." She smiled.
"What are you doing here..and what are you doing here dressed like that?" He asked, his tone was protective borderline possessive.
"Jenna insisted I go out for drinks and insisted I steal something from her wardrobe."
"Ah. Well that explains why every guy in here is staring at your ass." He said. Mckenna blushed and sat down.
"Your usual?" He asked.
"Yeah." She said and smiled.
Mckenna was on her third crown and coke. Her fingers tapped the bar to the beat of the music.
"Last call." Killian said. Mckenna raised her eyebrow and looked down at her phone.
"Who closes a bar at midnight?" She asked.
"Me." Killian shrugged. "Ariel doesn't like me out so late." Mckenna smirked and moved her hand in a whipping motion and mimicked the sound.
"Getting a bit squiffy love." Killian smirked. "Ariels actually wanting me to sell." He said.
"Don't you dare!" Mckenna said.
"It's just a bar, Kenna." Killian shrugged leaning over the bar at her.
"It is not. You, your brother, and Gil started this place together. You can't sell it." Mckenna frowned.
"It would make Ariel happy." Killian sighed.
"Fuck making that twattwaffle happy." Mckenna spat.
"Hey! that is my future wife you are talking about. Christ.. you are officially cut off." He said and took her drink away.
"Hey!" Mckenna whined. "I paid for that."
"Best not waste it then." Killian shrugged and tipped the glass back.
"Ass." Mckenna sighed.
"But you love me." Killian smirked. A man walked over and sat next to Mckenna and ran his hand over her forearm.
"So, since this place is closing for the night why don't you come with me and my friends? We know a place." He smirked. Mckenna pulled her arm away from him.
"No..thank you." She said.
"Come on, it will be fun." He said and smirked.
"The lady said no." Killian growled.
"Do you own the lady?" The man asked.
"No. but I own the bar so walk the fuck away while you still can." Killian snapped. Mckenna felt her heartbeat quicken at his tone. She liked it when he got like this. The man scoffed and got up walking away.
It was just a little while later before everyone had left the bar, yet Mckenna stayed in her seat talking to Killian who was on his second drink.
"Should you be drinking?" Mckenna asked.
"A couple won't hurt." Killian shrugged. Mckenna smirked.
"No that doesn't mean you get more. You get mean when you drink." Killian chuckled.
"You like me when I'm mean." Mckenna shrugged and stood up walking around the bar and opening the till.
"What are you doing?" Killian asked.
"I'm counting the till. you know helping you close up." Mckenna said and took out the money counting it. She felt Killian's hands on her hips and his lips on her neck.
"Killian what are you doing?" Mckenna asked though her mind was screaming
Please don't stop
Killians lips trailed up her neck and to her ear.
"You knew exactly what you were doing when you came in here in this little dress." He whispered and nipped at her ear lobe as he pulled away. Mckenna dropped the coins in her hand and turned around to face him.
"What about Ariel?" She asked and picked up what was left of his drink from the bar and drank it down.
"I need to feel something." Killian said with urgency in his tone as he tightened his grip on her hips and lifted her up onto the bar. "I've missed you so much." He mumbled and pressed his lips to hers in an intoxicating kiss. Mckenna tangled her fingers in his black locks deepening the kiss. This was wrong. So wrong but she couldn't stop, Killian was like a drug and it had been two miserable years since her last fix.
He broke the kiss and moved her hair away from her neck before leaning in and nipping at the sensitive skin possessively. Mckenna knew it would leave a mark. She gasped and threw her head back. He lifted her leg and hooked it around his waist grinding his hips into hers.
"ba mhaith liom tú" I want you He growled seductively into her ear.
"Then take me." Mckenna breathed.
His hands snaked up her dress and he hooked his fingers around her red lace panties and pulled them down and tossed them on the floor. He unbuckled his belt and undid his pants pushing them down just enough. From there, it was hot, it was fast and it was desperate and needy. His belt buckle clanked against the bar as he moved. Mckenna could feel at that moment how much he needed her, and God she needed him too. The heel of her shoe dug into his thigh
"bloody hell woman, next time leave your sisters shoes at home." He grunted
"Next time?" Mckenna said panting. "Awfully cocky of you to assume there will be a next time Jones."
"Stop talking." He smirked.
"Don't do it." She sighed.
"Don't do what?"
"Don't mar-"
"Killian...how could you?" Ariel's voice came out into a choked sob. Killian looked up at his fiance standing at the door. The two of them had been so caught up in eachother he hadn't even heard the door open.
"Oh.. fuck." He sighed. "Ariel wait." He said as he pulled away from Mckenna and pulled his pants up. Ariel turned around and walked out of the bar. Mckenna stood from the bar and adjusted her dress.
"I can't believe we just did that.." She muttered. Killian ran his hands through his hair. "You need to go... I'm..going to go talk to her." He said.
"Yeah.. You uh.. do that." Mckenna said and walked out of the bar.
Mckenna walked into her house around 1:30 that morning. Jenna was sitting on the couch waiting. Mckenna sat down beside her sister and took off the death traps she was wearing on her feet.
"So how did it go?" Jenna asked. Mckenna curled up into a ball and laid her head on her sisters lap crying.
"Kenna..what happened?" Jenna asked running her hands through her sisters hair. Mckenna didn't answer she just cried silently. She was overcome with guilt. Yes, she went into Killian's bar, knowing what this dress would do to him because she was selfish and she wanted him. She had just ruined his life with Ariel and the worst part of it was she could feel he wanted her too until Ariel walked in and she could see the look of guilt and hurt in his eyes.
------------------------------
Killian couldn't believe what he had done. Ariel had locked him out of his own house which he definitely deserved. It had been so long since he had touched a woman, and then Mckenna had to walk in the combination of her, and a few drinks had ended in disaster. He loved Mckenna. He never stopped but she had left him and he didn't want that to happen again and Ariel was the only thing that made the pain from Mckenna walking away hurt less and he had royally fucked that up. He had to fix this.
"Ariel.. Baby please." He said and pounded his fist on the door. "It's cold out here!"
Ariel opened the door and glared at him
"Why don't you go see if Mckenna will let you in?" She asked and went to shut the door again but he stopped it with his foot.
"Ari.. I am so sorry. I was drinking and I just lost control. Please, let me in. Let's talk about this."
Ariel's eyes welled.
"I love you Killian and you hurt me."
"I Know and I'm so sorry I want to fix it. Please. Tell me what I have to do to fix this. I'll do anything."
Ariel sighed heavily, she wasn't ready to give up. She loved Killian and if he was really willing to do anything to fix his mistakes then she would hear him out. She stepped aside and let him in. He smiled at her and walked inside.
-------------------------------------------
It had been a couple of weeks, Mckenna hadn't heard much from Killian. Instead of texting her with arrangements for Connor, he had texted Jenna, He wouldn't even come in the house to pick him up and Mckenna wasn't ready to see him so Jenna would bring Connor to him. Mckenna still hadn't told her sister what happened that night at the bar. She was too ashamed. Mckenna was getting ready to close the coffee shop for the night when the bell on the door jingled.
"We're closed." She mumbled not looking up from the counter she was cleaning down.
"I think you can make some time for me."
Mckenna turned around.
"A..Ariel." She said. "What are you doing here? I just cleaned up, but I can make you something."
"No, this won't take long." She said and walked to the counter.
"Ariel.. I'm really sorry." Mckenna said.
"Oh. I know you are. But you don't have to worry about it. Killian and I fixed things."
What? How? He doesn't even Love you...
"Oh. Well good." Mckenna smiled.
"So here's how this is going to work. You will not have contact with Killian, unless it has to do with Connor, and I will be there."
"Okay, Sure. I haven't talked to Killian in a couple of weeks anyways. Jenna's been bringing Connor to him."
"Good. Keep it that way." Ariel said. "And another thing, Killian is signing over the bar to you."
"What? I don't want the bar. I can't afford the bar." Mckenna said.
"He refuses to sell it So I told him he could give it to you, because It means something to you and I'm not a complete bitch."
"Well that's nice and All.. but like I said I
can't afford the bar."
"That's not my problem. Killian and I are getting married in June, and then moving to Boston."
Boston??
"Boston? You can't just pack up and leave for Boston. What about Connor?"
"You can bring Connor to us every other week and come and get him." Ariel said.
"I can't just go to Boston every week Ariel!" Mckenna snapped.
"You will, unless you want to find yourself in a Custody battle and I guarantee you, you won't win it." Ariel said. What the hell happened to the bubbly sweet Redhead she had met months ago?
Oh. Yeah.. she caught you screwing her fiance.
"Stay away from me. Stay away from Killian." Ariel snapped.
"You can't do this. My daughter loves him if you move to boston it will crush her!"
"Well I guess you'll have to explain to her why she can't see him anymore then." Ariel said and walked out of the coffee shop.
