Chapter Seventeen ~ I Promise

“If you’re all finished staring at each other, can someone please tell me who Cho Chang is?”Amélie asked finally when she could no longer deal with the silence. She frowned as the others stared at Jeff and Kingsley.

At Amélie’s words, Ginny looked over with a pained look.

“Cho Chang…” she whispered softly.

“Is she someone important?” Thomas asked curiously.

“She’s not too important, really.” Neville answered as he leaned back on the couch and gently rubbed Blaise’s back tenderly. “She was Harry’s ex – girlfriend and we learned that she also wasn’t entirely fond of Ginny when Harry and she started dating.” He smiled softly. “By the way, Ginny, Harry’s dead.” He told her.

Ginny sighed, running her hand in front of her face, “yes, Neville, I know.” She told him.

“It was you, wasn’t it?” He frowned.

Ginny frowned back.

“I wish it had been me.” Draco hissed.

“For the love of Merlin, can somebody please tell me who the fucking hell Cho Chang is and why she wants my mother dead?” Amélie growled, standing up and causing the windows to shake.

“Amélie Scarlett Weasley!” Ginny cried. “Watch your tongue!” She reprimanded.

“Well, I wouldn’t need to do that if somebody would honestly answer my goddamn question, would I?” Amélie smirked.

Ginny rolled her eyes as the others laughed behind her.”No, I reckon you wouldn’t.”

Draco stood up and walked up to Amélie. He stopped in front of her and looked down into her eyes that were identical to his; hers were blazing with fear and fury. He understood it well. He was experiencing the exact same feelings. He was worried but he couldn’t let it show if he wanted Amélie to relax.

“Cho Chang, it seems, isn’t who we thought she was. If I remember correctly, she was an average witch, with an average job, an average family and an average life. Doesn’t make any bloody sense, now does it? We were wrong, obviously. I reckon none of us here can say why Cho Chang wants Ginny dead but we certainly aren’t going to wait to find out. We’re going to find her and we’re going to find Lucius and we’re going to kill –” Draco was telling her when someone cleared their throat.

“Is killing the best option?” Neville asked.

All eyes turned to him.

“Of course,” Amélie answered him. “Anyone who wants to kill mom should die, right?” She asked towards Draco who nodded in agreement.

“This situation needs to be cleaned up as soon as possible. If that means disposing of those who are plotting against us, well, then so be it.” Jeff explained to Neville.

“Well, before we kill Cho Chang, I’d like a word with her.” Ginny crossed her arms, truly unafraid of the idea that Cho Chang was going to kill her.

But it wasn’t herself she was worried about.

Ginny looked nervously at Amélie and frowned. “Amélie, maybe you should go back to England with Uncle George and Luna.”

“Absolutely not,” Amélie said without skipping a bit.

“But maybe it would be wise –” Ginny tried again but Amélie stopped her.

“No, mom, I’m not going anywhere. I’m seventeen; I’m legal and I’m going to stay here to protect you and help kill those crazy bastards.” Amélie told her positively.

“Wow, I don’t know who she reminds me of more.” Pansy snorted as she looked at the three of them.

“Shut up, Pansy.” Ginny growled.

“It’s the truth.” Pansy shrugged as she looked over at Colm. “You’re handsome. Are you single?” She purred as she ran her fingers down his chest.

Colm blushed at Pansy’s attention and then he instantly looked at Ginny.

“What are you looking at?” Draco growled as he stepped in front of Ginny.

“Relax, Draco.” Ginny sighed as she stood and ran her hand up his arm. He shivered at their contact and he shot her a small smile.

“Don’t worry about Drake – poo, Colm. Or Ginny for that matter. I’m single and there won’t be any annoying gits getting in the way. How about dinner? Lunch? Or a shag? I’m certain you would be –” Pansy was saying when Ginny blinked herself in front of her and covered her mouth.

“Will you please refrain from speaking about such dirty things in the presence of my daughter?” Ginny hissed her brown eyes narrowed.

“Oh, don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about. Amélie knows she didn’t come from an egg or a hippogriff with a blanket. Please, Weasley.” Pansy rolled her eyes. “And I’m certain; she’s already on her way to knowing the many wonders of a great bloody shag.”

Amélie flushed to the tips of her ears.

Ginny covered her face while the others in the room laughed.

“Pansy, you are so crude.” Blaise laughed as he looked around the room at everyone. Both Amélie and her little friend, Thomas, were both blushing while Draco glared at Pansy.

“Aren’t any of you worried?” Colm asked suddenly as the laughing quieted down.

“There is no reason to be worried.” George told him as he places his arm around Luna and drew her to him, kissing her forehead lightly. “We’ll clean this mess up.”

“But everything I’ve heard about Lucius Malfoy…” Colm stopped as he looked at Draco.

“He’s a monster. He’s mad, mental, dangerous. He’s everything you’ve heard about him. There is not a kind bone in his body.” Draco told him.

“He almost killed mom when she was eleven years old.” Amélie said, “It didn’t work because mom is still here. We’ll best him again.”

“Harry Potter saved her.” Kingsley pointed out and then wished he hadn’t when everyone in the room turned to glare at him; Ginny’s the fiercest. “Before you try to hex me, I don’t mean any insult. I was merely stating a fact!”

Ginny rolled her eyes. “Harry saved me because I couldn’t save myself. I was eleven. I didn’t know much.”

“Whoa! Did you hear that Luna – love? She admitted she didn’t know much.” George joked.

“When I was eleven, George,” Ginny’s eyes narrowed.

“’Enough,” Jeff sighed as they all turned to look at him. “Have lunch, dinner and then everyone call it a night. We will meet again in my office tomorrow morning at ten. Be on time. If you are not there, we will begin without you.” And with that, Jeff left the apartment, Kingsley on his heels. The unmistakable sounds of two pops came and they all knew the two had disapparated.

“Ginny, we’ll be staying here until this matter is settled.” Neville told her.

Ginny simply nodded.

“We’re staying here?” Blaise complained, “But Draco is staying here. That means they’ll be shagging the entire time!”

“No one will be shagging here!” Amélie screamed suddenly.

Ginny instantly broke out into a fit of laughter to which everyone followed.

“Come to bed already, Red.” Draco whispered as he heard her pacing in front of the bed. He rolled over, sighing when she didn’t stop. He slipped out of bed and came behind her, stopping her pacing. “You’re worried.”

“I’m scared, Draco. If Lucius or Chang find out about Amélie… she could be used against me. I would do anything they say to make certain she’s safe.” Ginny whispered when he wrapped his arms around her waist.

“It won’t come to that. I promise. I won’t let anything happen to you or Amélie.” He told her.

“I know.” Ginny nodded then turned around in his arms. She locked her arms around his neck and pulled him down to her level then brushed her lips against his. It was a soft, gentle kiss to show him how much she appreciated him, how glad she was that he was here but the second their lips touched it turned passionate, possessive as he grabbed her hips and picked her up off the ground; Ginny instantly wrapped her legs around his waist.

He pulled his lips away from her fervent lips and kissed his way down her neck. “Let’s get into bed,” he whispered against her neck.

“Yes,” Ginny agreed.

Draco dropped her onto the bed on her back, hovering above her. He smiled, really smiled and the sight of it took away her breath.

“Merlin, Ginny, I love you.” He muttered as he looked down at her.

“I love you too.” Ginny said as she pulled his face down to hers, needing his kiss.

He kissed her and then they were both suddenly tearing each other clothes off. In the blink of an eye, they were skin to skin and neither Ginny nor Draco could think of anything that felt as wonderfully as that.

“I’ve waited seventeen years to be with you again, Ginny. I’ve missed you so much.” He whispered as he hungrily gazed at her body. He kissed his way down her body.

She was burning, her blood and body on fire from his kisses. She couldn’t take it anymore. She needed him, she needed him now. She was tired of waiting. She had waited for seventeen years.

“Now…Draco…now…” she whispered, unable to speak loudly.

“Now, Red,” He responded and he took them both to the edge of the cliff and then tumbled down into the ravine  of pleasure.

~.~.~

George and Luna lay in the bed in Amélie’s room; George’s arms tight around Luna.

“Are you worried?” Luna asked him, her dreamy voice serious for once.

George sighed as he pulled her closer to him, her back against his chest. He loved his wife; she fit so perfectly with him. She completely him and though he had thought he’d be dead and hallow after Fred died, Luna brought him back to life.

Ginny had started it, living above the shop and working with him; she had helped him, Draco as well but Luna brought him back completely. Then they had married and had the twins, Fred and Analiese. His family, the three of them, made him whole and he had never felt so great. He was certain Fred was happy for him wherever he was, waiting for him to join him someday.

“George?” Luna turned in his arms to look at him.

“Sorry, love, just thinking.” He kissed her lips softly, “I’m not really worried. Ginny’s a big girl and she can take of herself; is what I want to say but Merlin, I can’t help it. She’s my baby sister. I want to take care of her and make certain nothing will ever happen to her.” He sighed, closing his eyes and breathing in Luna’s unique scent.

“Draco is here now too. He won’t let anything happen to her or Amélie.” Luna reassured him.

“I know,” he agreed before sleep started to take him over.
