Chapter Fourteen ~ My Daughter
“Draco,” Ginny whispered as she stared at the man she had been in love with for over seventeen years.
Her heart was beating erratically in her chest; there was no way that Draco Malfoy could be standing in front of her. But actually, that wasn’t true. He had said he would; he had said so in his letter.
“Ginny?” He asked, shocked and then suddenly, he was stand a few inches from her.
It was really her; it was his Red, right in front of him.
“Draco.” She breathed his name and it sounded like music to his ears.
He lifted his hand and softly stroked her cheek, sending shivers down her spine.
“It’s… it’s really you.” He whispered as he looked into her bright chocolate brown eyes that he had dreamed about every single night, touched her fiery red hair that he loved and looked at those damn, perfectly kissable lips.
And then he was nineteen years old again, her eyes watching him and he wanted to take her, to completely consume her and brand her with his scent, his body, his love.
“Oh, Draco,” She cried suddenly as she threw her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly; forgetting all the pain, anger and fear she had been feeling since she had found out she was pregnant back then.
Without thinking, he held her unable to truly believe that she was in his arms after seventeen years of being apart.
They pulled back a bit and she looked into his eyes, brown into silvery – gray and it felt as if time had never passed. Things had never changed. She leaned forward, wanting nothing but to feel his lips on hers, wanting nothing but to taste his sweet kiss. She closed her eyes, waiting, waiting to feel it. She could feel his breath against her lips. She needed it, Merlin knew she needed it right now.

“Something’s wrong,” Amélie whispered as she looked over at Thomas who was standing behind the bar making her a sandwich.
He stopped and looked up at her.
“What do you mean something is wrong?” He asked as he leaned forward on the bar until their faces were inches apart
Amélie blushed but didn’t move back.
“Is everything okay?” Colm asked as he stepped through the doors of the diner. He looked at both of the teenagers and could automatically sense something amiss with Amélie.
“Something is wrong. I need to get home.” She told Colm as she moved away from Thomas, stood and hurried grabbed her bag, her wand in her hand.
“Wait – how do you know?” Thomas asked as he jumped over the bar and grabbed her arm, turning her to look at him.
Colm just watched them curiously.
“I just do. Are you coming or not?” Amélie asked Thomas as she reached out her hand. He grabbed it without a word and in the blink of an eye, she apparated them outside the door of the apartment she shared with her mom; Colm appeared behind them instantly.
“If you say something is wrong, and you go out there and something happens to you, well, not only would Ginny not forgive me if you were hurt but honestly, I wouldn’t either.” Colm explained as he pointed his wand at the door but suddenly the door blasted open. Shocked, he looked behind him expecting someone but all he saw was Amélie standing with her eyes narrowed staring at the door, a fire behind her eyes.
She was worried, her heart pounding and all she could think was that something was wrong.
As the door blasted open, her eyes widened in shock at the scene in front of her.
“Mom!” She screamed.
Ginny and Draco stood a breath apart, their heads and bodies very close together, in front of the kitchen, both of them looking at the door and their wands out pointing towards it. As they caught sight of Amélie, they both lowered them; one slower than the other.
“Amélie!” Ginny screamed at the same time Draco yelled, “You!”
Ginny and Draco looked at each other; guilt written all over Ginny’s, shock on Draco’s.
“Mum?” He asked, shocked.
Ginny bit her lower lip as she looked at Draco.
“Well…” Ginny started but she stopped, not knowing what to say.
Silence filled the room as everyone looked at Ginny and Draco.
“Did you do that to the door, Amélie?” Thomas asked to break the silence.
“You blasted open the door?” Ginny asked glad for the subject change. She blinked herself in front of Amélie, who was staring, her eyes wide, at Draco. “Did you do it?” She asked but Amélie wasn’t paying attention.
“Mum…” Draco whispered softly behind Ginny.
Suddenly, Draco appeared right next to Ginny. Colm and Thomas gasped as he suddenly appeared. Ginny looked over to see him staring at Amélie with an odd look on his face.
He softly lifted Amélie’s chin, so she would look up at him. Her stared into her silvery – gray eyes that were so much like his.
“Mum…” he whispered again.
Amélie had his eyes, the silvery – gray eyes that came from his father’s line. She was tall, like him. She nibbled nervously on her lower lip and he almost chuckled at how much she looked like Ginny. She called Ginny mum…and she looked to be in her late teens. There was no way that… it wasn’t possible that she was his…
“Dad,” Amélie smiled slightly at him and Draco all but fainted on the spot.
He looked at Ginny and then back at the girl, Amélie.
“You’re my daughter?” He whispered as he stared at her.
“Yes, she’s your daughter.” Ginny whispered as she watched him; afraid of how he would react to the news. It had been seventeen years but suddenly all the fear she had felt as she had waited for his response all those years ago, it came back, filling her heart with panic.
“My daughter…my daughter…” he whispered as he caressed her cheek and then ran his hand through her red hair, pulling gently on a strand, “bloody hell.”
Amélie’s eyes filled with tears. Her dad, he was here, in front of her. He was real. She bit her lip to keep from crying.
He was real.
Draco Malfoy, her father.
He was here.
This was real, this was for real.
She quickly grabbed onto Thomas’ hand and squeezed tightly. He squeezed back.
“You’re here.” Amélie whispered happily and then shocked everyone by jumping forward and throwing her arms around his neck. Draco hugged her as if she was a lifeline and Death was itching to take him to away.
Ginny stared at the pair in shock. She had been wrong. She had been so completely wrong. Draco would have wanted her, would have wanted Amélie. She had been wrong all those years ago. So many things would have been different if she would have just waited, told the truth.
Draco looked up suddenly to look at Ginny and her heart froze in her chest. His silvery – gray eyes were bright but it couldn’t be true. There couldn’t be tears in his eyes.
At that exact moment, picture frames, lamps, everything around them shook and fell to the floor.
Draco jumped back looking around the room, his wand at the ready; Thomas and Colm doing the same but Amélie stared at Draco, her eyes never leaving him and Ginny watched Amélie, a small smile appearing on her face.
“Merlin sure did take his sweet bloody time,” she muttered causing everyone to look at her.
“What was that, Red?” Draco asked with a small crease between his eyebrows.
Ginny almost laughed as she looked at Amélie and saw the same exact expression on hers.
“Gin…” She looked up to see Colm staring at her, his eyes sad.
She hadn’t really noticed that Colm was there; what at great friend she was. She was hurting him again and what choice did she have. She loved Draco. She knew he still loved her, knew that Colm would never stop loving her until he found someone else that he could love more.
Ginny shook her head quickly; she didn’t have the time to worry about it now. Unfortunately for Colm, things would never be the way he wanted them to.
Draco looked suddenly towards the other man in the room. He was staring at Ginny and Draco didn’t like the expression on his face. The man loved his Red. He just found her and hell, Merlin or the Devil, he wasn’t going to let anyone take his Red from him.
Anger filled through his body as Ginny looked down, a blush heating her cheeks. He took a step forward, without thinking about it and positioned himself between the man and Ginny.
“Draco…” Ginny whispered as he felt him step in front of her. She looked up to see his eyes were dark and dangerous and he was glaring at Colm who was staring back just as dangerous.
“Who are you?” Draco hissed.
“Who the hell are you?” Colm ignored his question. “Wait, I know just who you are. You’re Draco Malfoy; the asshole that hurt Ginny.” He growled, taking a threatening step forward. His blue eyes turning red as his hands filled with flames.
Colm’s power showing before the others.
“Colm, calm down!” Thomas jumped forward and stood in front of his angered brother. He was surprised that Colm had allowed himself to lose control.
“No, let Colm come,” Draco hissed as he took a step forward. He’d kill the bastard. He didn’t know what Colm’s relationship with Ginny was but any man that loved Ginny that wasn’t him was going to die. Draco would kill them all. Ginny was his; his and no one else’s.
“Draco, stop!” Ginny jumped in front of him and pushed him back. She grabbed his chin and forced him to look at her. “Look at me, Draco. Stop this. We don’t have the time to be fighting with our friends!” She told him.
Draco simply stared at her, his silvery – gray eyes watching her.
“I got my power,” Amélie said suddenly as it dawned on her and she pulled everyone’s attention to herself. She was looking up at the ceiling of their apartment. It had finally happened, Oh sweet Merlin, he had really blessed her. He had finally given her the power. She was finally blessed like her mom and her dad, “Holy fuc –” She started to say when Ginny cleared her throat, “freaking crap.”
“Your power…?” Thomas wondered as he stepped away from Colm to stand in front of Amélie.
She looked at him. “I’ve gotten my power. I’m…” She frowned suddenly.
“You’re telekinetic,” a voice from the kitchen said.
Everyone looked over to see Jeff and Kingsley sitting at the table drinking Butterbeer.
“Ginny, you should know better than anyone that leaving your wards down isn’t exactly smart.” Jeff scolded her.
“Yes, I really need to remember that. I reckon people nowadays don’t know what can happen to them when they just appear in my home.” She frowned.
“I’m telekinetic…what the hell is that?” Amélie asked.
“You can move objects with your mind.” Draco explained as he turned back to her. “That’s pretty interesting considering Ginny’s power and mine.”
“Yes, yes, it’s all lovely to be talking about our powers but for the love of Merlin, Ginny, put up your goddamn wards.” Jeff growled.
Ginny rolled her eyes and then quietly put up the wards.
“You should keep in mind that someone is out to kill you. It seems as if you have forgotten.” He told her.
“I haven’t.” Ginny answered.
“Mom isn’t going to die, Jeff.” Amélie said, her voice hard.
“I didn’t say she was. I was just reminding her about Rìona’s vision.” Jeff frowned at the littlest Weasley girl.
“Tell me about the vision.” Draco said suddenly.
“You don’t need to hear it since you’re leaving.” Colm said.
“Colm!” Ginny growled.
Draco stiffened.
“What the hell did I tell you the other day? Didn’t you listen to a damn word? Or what about what you told me earlier?” Ginny stepped in front of Colm.
His eyes narrowed as he looked at her and then he took a deep breath, closing his eyes and then looking back at her. “I’m sorry, Ginny. I’ll behave.” He smiled.
Ginny’s eyes narrowed but she turned away from him to look at Draco.
Draco was still looking at Colm.
“It’s not a big deal.” Ginny told him.
“Not a big deal?” Kingsley snorted. “Rìona said you were going to die. I’d say that was a big deal.”
“Mom isn’t going to die.” Amélie repeated.
“Exactly,” Ginny stepped next to Amélie and wrapped her arm around her daughter’s waist. “It’s not going to happen.”
“I would never let that happen,” Draco looked towards Ginny, his eyes burning into hers.
Ginny’s cheeks heated as she looked at Draco.
Amélie grinned as she looked between her parents. They had been in the same room for an hour or so after being separated for over seventeen years and anyone could tell they loved each other. But she figured neither of them realized it. She snorted causing everyone but Draco and Ginny to look at her.
“Blindness must come with old age,” she muttered sarcastically.
“Not old age, my dear,” Kingsley chuckled as he watched Ginny and Draco staring at each other. They were in their own world.
“This makes me sick.” Colm whispered sadly, “I’m going home.” He said and without as much as a backward glance, he left the apartment, the door slamming behind him.
At the sound both Ginny and Draco looked away from each other.
“Colm?” Ginny asked as she realized it was him.
“He needed to leave,” Jeff told her.
Ginny sighed and then looked up at Draco again. She knew they needed to talk, really talk. There was still things that needed to be cleared up but now was not the time. Right now they needed to catch the bastards who wanted to kill her, expose the Wizarding World and the Organizations they worked for.
~.~.~
“Ginny Weasley is in New York City.” The woman told Lucius Malfoy.
He sighed as he ran his fingers through his long blonde hair. He was disappointed, he didn’t understand why things had turned out the way they did. But truthfully, he was glad they had. Now he was free from Azkaban and that was a great feat of its own. Twice in his lifetime he had been broken out of Azkaban.
He smiled at the woman.
“Well done,” he nodded in acknowledgement.
He hated half-bloods even though technically the Dark Lord had been one. This woman was half-blood and at first glance she didn’t seem like she could do what she had done but when one took a deeper look they could see her cold, calculated, scheming true self behind her black eyes.
She’d learned a truth and now, she was ready to get her revenge. And by Merlin, Lucius knew that she would get it. Fortunately the Organization had learned about the Potters’ involvement, not that the Potters had really known who the woman was going to break out of Azkaban. They were guilty, yes, but Lucius would have wished that they would have known who was the information they were giving was going to help before they were disposed of.
“Oh well,” he mumbled.
“What was that?” The woman asked as she brushed back her paper straight black hair.
“Nothing, who is in New York with her?” He asked as he took a sip of Odgen’s Firewhiskey. It had been so long since he had had any.
“Some of her U.S. acquaintances, I’ve also learned that Blaise Zabini, Neville Longbottom, Pansy Parkinson, Luna and George Weasley would be showing up soon. And your son as well,” She told him.
“Draco is no son of mine,” Lucius spat, “no son of mine would join the Ministry to help it honestly. I worked for the Ministry but only as a cover up.”
“Whatever you say,” the woman chuckled, her dark eyes shining with amusement.
“Stop,” he hissed.
She simply rolled her eyes.
“We’ll get her. She’ll pay, she’ll pay for everything she has ruined.” Lucius’ silvery – gray eyes darkened with anger and madness.
“She definitely will,” the woman agreed as she took the Firewhiskey from his hands and took a sip, “No doubt about it.”
