Chapter Eleven ~ Death and Blood
“Amélie, I need both you and your mom in my office in five minutes. It’s important. Hurry,” Jeff said to Amélie as she sat on the couch reading one of Ginny’s muggle historical romance books. Her face was slightly flushed as she read through a highly inappropriate scene.
Amélie looked up at Jeff’s words. “Sure, let me get her and we’ll head over.”
Jeff nodded from his spot in the fireplace and then disappeared without a word.
Amélie frowned but shrugged it off; maybe Jeff was just having one of those days. “Mom, Jeff needs to see us in his office right now!”
A loud crash followed her words. Amélie rolled her eyes and a second later Ginny was standing before her, dripping wet and a towel tightly clenched around her body.
“For the love of Merlin, Amélie, don’t scream like that!” She hissed at her daughter.
“Be better prepared, mom.” Amélie tucked her bookmark to save her page.
“Don’t read that!” Ginny cried as she tried to grab the book out of Amélie’s hands.
“Why not?” Amélie asked pulling the book out of her mom's reach, her silvery – gray eyes narrowing suspiciously.
“It’s inappropriate for your age,” Ginny told her as she touched the book and blinked herself away.
“MOM!” Amélie screamed out as both Ginny and the book disappeared. “No damn fair! Give it back to me!”
Suddenly Ginny screamed again and Amélie looked over to see the book quickly flying through the air. She was so shocked at the sight that she didn’t try to catch it and it hit her right in the face.
“Crap!” Amélie cursed as she rubbed her forehead. “You could have told me to come get it.”
Ginny poked her head out of her bedroom, her red hair dripping on the floor. “I didn’t do that.” She answered to Amélie worriedly.
“Liar,” Amélie grabbed the book and made her way to her bedroom. “Anyway, hurry up. Jeff’s waiting for us and he’s in a no nonsense mood.”
“Ready!” Ginny blinked herself into the living room dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a green sweater. She pulled her hair up into a ponytail and stuck her wand into her back pocket, smiling as she remembered hearing that Moody had once said wizards and witches have blasted their buttocks off that way.
“What are you smiling about?” Amélie asked as she came out of her room.
“Nothing, come along.” Ginny said holding her hand out for Amélie to grab. Amélie did and then Ginny blinked them off to Jeff’s office; completely forgetting the incident with the book.

“Are you certain Ginny is coming?” The dark man asked Jeff.
“Of course she’s coming. She knows better than to ignore me.” Jeff smiled as he leaned back in his chair and waited to see the man’s shocked face when both Ginny and Amélie appeared.
“It’s been over seventeen years. I reckon her life hasn’t been easy.” The man said absentmindedly.
“It hasn’t,” Jeff agreed. “But we both know Ginny. She isn’t one to let life get her down. Plus, she’s had help along the way.”
Suddenly Ginny and Amélie appeared in front of Jeff’s desk, the dark man behind them so neither saw him.
“I brought her, Jeff. I had no choice but to blink with her even though mom knows I don’t like it much.” Amélie complained.
“Yes well it’s the quickest way, really. Stop complaining, Amélie. Bollocks, I can’t believe I raised you.” Ginny huffed with fake indignation.
A loud gasp came from behind and both Ginny and Amélie turned around to see the dark man.
“Kingsley!” Ginny cried out, eyes widening with shock.
“You know him, mom?” Amélie asked curiously.
Both Ginny and Kingsley were staring at each other in surprise. After a few silent seconds, Ginny finally responded to Amélie.
“Yes, I know him. He’s the Minister of Magic in Britain; my former boss and old friend.” She smiled kindly as she stepped towards him and hugged him.
“Old, yes, I certainly feel old right now.” Kingsley smiled and hugged her back.
“Kinglsey, this is my daughter, Amélie.” Ginny introduced when she stepped back from Kingsley.
The man looked at Amélie and Ginny immediately knew that he was trying to figure out how old the girl was. Amélie must have noticed too because she crossed her arms and a very familiar smirk appeared on her face.
“I’m seventeen, if you must know.” Amélie said and Ginny faked a cough to hide her laughter as Kingsley’s eyes all but jumped out of their sockets.
“Oh Merlin, I saw that smirk just last night…” Kingsley said in shock.
“I’m certain you did.” Ginny told him.
“You know my dad?” Amélie instantly asked. “You know him? How is he? What’s he like? I saw him yesterday too when I was leaving my assignment but I couldn’t really –” Amélie was saying when Jeff jumped up.
“You were seen? You didn’t tell me that yesterday!” Jeff hissed.
“Relax there, it was only Draco who saw her. I bet he all but had a heart attack when he did.” Ginny explained.
“He was really confused but I don’t think he jumped to these conclusions. I don’t think he allowed himself.” Kingsley told her. “But on another note, we need to talk.”
“About what exactly?” Ginny asked.
“Is this your work?” Kingsley asked as he pulled out a copy of a recent issue of the Daily Prophet. Harry and Hermione Potter were smiling back at them from the front page.
Ginny looked at Kingsley’s face to Amélie’s, who was staring in shock at the picture to Jeff’s. She was silently asking permission to confirm or deny. He nodded.
Ginny sighed as she sat into the chair in front of Jeff’s desk. Amélie followed suit.
“Yes, that is my work but before you say anything it was done for a reason. It wasn’t for personal feelings, though I have to admit, it did feel pretty good.” Ginny admitted, a wicked smile appearing on her face.
Kingsley chuckled slightly then crossed his arms. “If it wasn’t for personal reasons, then why was the hit given?”
“I don’t know. I didn’t even know it was going to be them until they appeared in front of me. Ask the boss, not me.” Ginny shrugged nonchalantly.
“You killed Harry Potter and his wife?” Amélie asked with shock.
“Well, yes, I did.” Ginny frowned as she watched her daughter. “Does that bother you?”
“No, not really because I was kind of hoping that that would be my first assignment,” Amélie admitted with a smile.
Ginny broke out into full out laughter. The two Ministers looked between the two Weasley women and rolled their eyes.
“You are my daughter.” Ginny said.
“Just like you,” Amélie nodded and hugged her mother.
“Draco would be so proud.” Kingsley snorted as he looked at them.
Ginny and Amélie looked over at him and both smiled widely.
“Back to the topic; why was he killed, Minister?” Kingsley asked Jeff.
Jeff sighed as he looked at all three of them. “This must not go beyond the three of you here. Maybe you may speak to this Draco Malfoy but that’s it. No one must know.” The three nodded and so he continued, “We recently found that a muggle is working with a wizard or witch to expose the Wizarding community, this specific organization within the Ministry and Ginny Weasley. We don’t know why Ginny specifically but if Amélie’s information is correct, then it’s not just one wizard or witch, but two. We can confirm that Lucius Malfoy is one of them but we have yet to confirm the other. All we have about the other is that it is a witch. The handwriting confirms that.”
“Lucius Malfoy and this witch are after me? Why?” Ginny asked.
“We don’t know. Unfortunately with this case, we don’t have much to go on.” Jeff sighed.
“But what does this have to do with the Potters?” Kingsley asked.
“From a source, which will remain unknown, Harry and Hermione Potter were passing on information about Azkaban, the Wizarding world and Ginny Weasley’s personal information to the muggle and the witch. No one would have believed that the Boy – Who – Lived, would secretly give information to the evil side.” Jeff explained.
“How could they do that? They were two of the three who helped destroy Voldemort during the Second War. It doesn’t make any sense.” Amélie frowned.
“it doesn’t make much sense to me either, baby.” Ginny confessed.
“Why do they want to make trouble for you, mom?” Amélie asked.
“I don’t know.” Ginny sighed. “This is bad because whoever the muggle is working with, they were able to get Lucius Malfoy out of Azkaban. Lucius and I weren’t friends. He hated me because I was from a blood traitor family and yes, once he did try to kill me but after that…well, we didn’t have any run-ins that I could think of. He was withering away in Azkaban while I lived my life. I never once visited him or anything of the sort. I don’t understand.” Ginny ran her hands over her face and kicked Jeff’s desk in anger. “I hate not knowing anything.”
“We’ll figure more of this out.” Kingsley said as he stood and placed his hand on Ginny’s shoulder.
Suddenly the door to Jeff’s office slammed open. The four of them stood up and in an instant, four wands where pointed at the door.
“Rìona!” Ginny cried out when she caught sight of the disheveled black haired witch, her deep green eyes were red and puffy as if she’d been crying. Ginny put down her wand and blinked herself in front of the woman. “What’s wrong?”
“Ye are in danger! Ginny, ye are in grave danger!” Rìona cried her Scottish accent thick with tears.
“Did you have a vision, Rìona?” Jeff rushed over.
Rìona was the seer for their organization. She had been with them for a little over five years. She was young, barely over twenty years old. She had left Scotland due to some family issues and had moved to New York City to have a new start.
“Death and blood, so much death and blood!” Rìona cried as she grabbed Ginny’s arms.
“What do you mean?” Ginny asked. Her heart pounding; she had a feeling what it meant and she prayed, begged Merlin that the next thing Rìona said wouldn’t be what she thought it might be.
“Ye will die!” Rìona screamed. "Ye will die!"
