SEVENTEEN
Y/N IS APPARENTLY GOING TO HELL
Trigger warning: homophobia
It was finally Friday, two weeks since Tyler and Nat's kiss, and Y/N was more than ready to get out of the precinct. She yanked open the fridge, grabbed her lunch, and tossed it into her bag without a second thought.
She stacked her files at her desk, shoving them into their folders with just enough care to keep them from crumpling, then with a few quick taps on her keyboard, her computer powered down.
Meanwhile, opposite her, Charles was taking his time, packing up his things at a much slower pace before he looked up to see Y/N practically flying through the bullpen.
"Hey, hey, slow down there, Speed Racer!" Charles called out, his brows furrowing. "I haven't seen you move like this since 2015. Why the rush?" He asked before standing up and shrugging himself into his jacket.
Y/N paused for a moment, glancing up at Charles. She took a deep breath, slowing down her frantic movements, though still moving a bit quicker than usual, "Okay, okay, maybe I'm going a little fast," She said with a grin, shrugging. "But it's for a good reason! I totally forgot about something important."
Charles' face lit up, "Oh my god, that is so Boyle of you! What was it?"
"Well, Amy and I have our 90s-themed forty-year high school reunion tonight and it totally slipped my mind until, like, five minutes ago when Nina Larkin re-MSN'd me the invite." Y/N grabbed a few more papers, stacking them neatly before slipping them into her desk.
"MSN still exists?!" Charles' eyes widened in shock.
Y/N bobbed her head, "Apparently so!" She grabbed her bag, tossed it over her shoulder, and started walking backward toward the elevator. "Anyway," She added, pausing for a moment to look over her shoulder, "I gotta get home and find my Uncle Jesse jumper."
"Man, I love John Stamos," Charles said with a dreamy sigh. "Such a heartthrob. Bye!" He waved her off.
"See ya Monday, Boyle!" Y/N called out as the elevator doors shut.
~
While Y/N was off hunting for her best '90s look, Nat walked into Gino's bedroom, pillow in hand and her heavy sleepover bag slung over her shoulder.
Gino's room had a sleek, modern vibe with his bed neatly made, designer pillows fluffed just right, and his dance trophies lined up proudly on a shelf, while framed photos of his old popular friends still hung on the walls and a few newer pictures of his current group sat on his desk, waiting to be put up.
Nat dropped her bag onto the floor with a grunt, watching it flop open, "Yikes, what's with all the luggage? You're only sleeping over for one night." Gino pointed out.
Nat shot him an unimpressed look, "I packed my nunchucks," She shrugged.
Gino's eyebrows shot up, blinking at her, clearly thrown, "Girl, why?"
Nat stared back at him, "Why? For fun! What's your problem?" She crossed her arms, giving him a pointed look. "You're seriously no fun."
Gino straightened, his expression turning serious, "I'm actually really fun once you get to know me," He said, as though it was a known fact. "Though, that takes, like, three to four years."
Nat snorted a chuckle, "Dude." She shook her head.
Gino let out a laugh, sitting on the end of his bed, "So, why'd you call this sleepover?" He changed the topic.
Nat exhaled, a grin creeping up her face as she plopped down on the bed next to him. She bounced like she couldn't hold it in anymore, "Listen, I gotta tell you something," Her grin stretched wider. "Tyler and I... we kissed!"
Gino's eyes widened for a split second before he threw his hands up as if he had just been freed from a burden, "Oh. My. God. Finally. You have no idea how exhausting it's been watching you two make heart eyes at each other when you both should be making heart eyes at me."
Nat blinked, waiting for more, then frowned, "I thought you'd be more excited!"
Gino's brows knitted as he leaned back, unimpressed, "Oh, I'll be actually excited when you two stop being cowards and make it official." He waved a hand dismissively. "So... like, when's that happening?"
Nat paused, suddenly very interested in picking at a loose thread on his comforter, "Uh... soon? Yeah. Definitely soon. Like, super soon. The soonest." She nodded as if trying to convince herself.
Gino watched as Nat picked at the thread on his comforter, her fingers fidgeting like they suddenly forgot how to be hands. Her jaw tightened, then loosened, like she was debating saying something and immediately regretting it. He exhaled, tilting his head, "You have no idea how to confess your feelings, do you?"
Nat let out a frustrated sigh, dropping the thread, "No, I don't! I really don't! I need help, Gino." She looked at him with wide, desperate eyes. "How have you confessed your feelings before?"
Gino raised an eyebrow, lounging back with a lazy grin. "Oh, sweetie, I have never had to confess my feelings—people always love me first." He paused, then sighed. "But since you're clearly in distress I guess I could maybe come up with a few ideas. If you want."
"Oh, yes, please!" Nat's face lit up with hope. "Because so far, my best idea is just telling her that we're girlfriends."
"Wow, you really do need my help."
~
Later, over at Y/N's old high school, she and Rosa walked into the gym, both rocking their best '90s outfits.
Rosa wore a black oversized suit paired with shoulder pads, a black turtleneck, and relaxed pants, while Y/N styled her Uncle Jesse jumper with mom jeans.
As they strolled in, the gym looked exactly how Y/N remembered it, just a little older, like everything else from her high school days.
People were scattered around, chatting and laughing, while light music played in the background. Everyone was dressed in their best '90s outfits, from flannel shirts and baggy jeans to scrunchies and oversized jackets.
"Okay, keep your eyes peeled for Amy and Jake—they've got to be around here somewhere!" Y/N leaned toward Rosa, scanning the sea of denim as she held her wife's hand.
Rosa straightened, scanning the crowd until her gaze locked onto them in the corner, "There they are." She pointed, a grin pulling on the sides of her lips.
Y/N smiled as she spotted their friends and hand in hand, she and Rosa made their way through the crowd.
Y/N noticed a few familiar faces—one girl in an oversized sweater and platform sneakers, a guy near the snack table wearing a graphic tee and baggy cargo pants, and a small group in the center dancing to the slow music, one twirling in a pink satin slip skirt and cropped jacket.
"Huh, I had that skirt," Rosa muttered, nodding toward the girl on the dance floor.
Y/N's eyes darted from Rosa to the girl, a quiet laugh escaping her lips, "Really?" She raised a brow.
"Yeah, it was a killer skirt," Rosa bobbed her head like it was the most obvious thing ever.
As the pair approached, Amy's eyes widened and her lips parted in surprise. She shot up from her seat, "Y/N!" She exclaimed.
"Hey, Ames!" Y/N grinned as she pulled Amy into a quick but tight hug, rocking her slightly before stepping back. Her eyes immediately dropped to Amy's feet. "I am loving those jelly shoes!"
"Thank you!" Amy beamed. "I had to bring them back!" She pivoted toward Rosa, her hands already reaching out for a hug. "Hey, Rosa!"
Rosa gave a small smile as she returned the hug, pulling back with a quick tap to Amy's back, "What's up?"
Beside them, Y/N moved on to Jake, wrapping her arms around him as Jake pulled her into a tight bear hug, "Y/N!" Jake's voice softened, his smile pulling at the corners of his lips as he reluctantly pulled back.
Jake then turned toward Rosa, the same smile still on his face, "Rosa!" He embraced her, his head resting on her shoulder for a moment before leaning back. "Why are your shoulders so squishy?"
"Shoulder pads," Rosa replied, giving him a look of approval. "Dope outfit." She gestured to Jake's Jurassic Park shirt.
"Thanks, bud." Jake bobbed his head.
~
Back with Gino and Nat, they sat on the edge of Gino's bed both staring down at the notepad in front of them.
"Alright, first step: What do you wanna say?" Gino asked. "What does your heart say when you think of Tyler? Pretend I'm Tyler. What would you say to me?"
Nat blinked, her gaze momentarily drifting to the ceiling as if searching for the right words. Then, with a soft exhale, she let the words fall out, "I like you."
Gino tilted his head as he processed her simple confession. He took a slow breath, his pen hovering over the page, "Okay... Short and sweet. I like it. Now onto the second step: How to say it."
~
While Gino and Nat were deep in their brainstorming, the reunion was in full swing, with Jake, Y/N, Amy, and Rosa dancing to 90s songs, cramming into the photo booth for pictures, and taking a few shots. Between all the fun, Y/N and Amy caught up with old friends as the night unfolded.
"Alright, who's ready to get their snack on?" Jake asked as he motioned to the food table. "What are you guys craving?"
"Ohh..." Y/N glanced at the snack table, her eyes lighting up as she considered the options. "I'm good with anything," She decided, then gave Rosa's sleeve a small, affectionate tug. With a grin, she tilted her head. "What about you?"
Rosa gave a slight nod of appreciation, "Not hungry,"
"Okay, more for me!" Jake smiled, turning to Amy. "Okay, Ames, I've got you covered. Crackers and cheese, right?"
"Thanks, babe." Amy gave a quick nod, her lips curling into a smile as her eyes followed Jake's retreating figure. Then, her gaze shifted to a familiar man standing in a nearby group. "Oh, no, Y/N," She muttered as she pointed discreetly toward a figure.
Y/N followed Amy's gaze, her breath catching as her eyes met the man. Her stomach flipped, and without thinking, she inched closer to Rosa.
Rosa's eyes darted over to where Y/N was looking, "Who the hell is that?"
"That... is my ex," Y/N said quietly, her voice distant as her eyes stayed locked on him. "The one who broke up with me because I'm bi."
Rosa studied the man, her lips pressed into a tight line, "I thought that one died,"
"No, you're thinking of Eleanor—" Y/N started, but then her ex turned toward her, and their eyes met. "Oh, no, we've made eye contact," She added, her voice rising.
"Ah! Look away!" Amy urged.
"Too late," Y/N bared her teeth.
"Close your eyes then!" Amy commanded.
"No, I can't just close my eyes," Y/N muttered, her eyes narrowing as she watched her ex push through the crowd toward them.
"Hey, Y/N Y/L/N, long time no see," the man smiled, his arms outstretched as he took a step closer. Before she could react, Y/N found herself enveloped in a hug, "How have you been?"
"Uh, I've been super great, actually," Y/N's hands instinctively tightened at her sides, though she held the hug a moment longer than she meant to. Stepping back slightly, she gave a quick smile. "What about you? What's been going on in your life?"
"It's so good!" Her ex beamed. "I've been working on my music, I'm really close to making it big, you know?" He lifted a brow.
"Oh, no kidding," Y/N's voice dripped with unnoticed sarcasm as Rosa and Amy exchanged a look, silently agreeing on how ridiculous this guy sounded.
"Yeah, cool stuff. So, where are you working these days?" Her ex asked.
"I'm a detective," Y/N replied shortly, not offering any more details. She was ready to end the conversation.
"Oh, nice! I better stay away from you," He chuckled, causing Y/N's smile to tighten. She quickly forced a laugh, but it came out a little too loud. His gaze dropped to her jumper. "Hey, I remember that jumper. You loved Uncle Jesse."
"Yeah--" Y/N started.
"Then you had that thing for Aunt Becky." He chuckled, again, shaking his head, clearly reliving the memory. "And that 'bi-phase' of yours." He grinned, trying to be funny. "Guess it was just a phase, huh? It's always a phase with people like you." He raised an eyebrow, completely unaware that Y/N was still bi.
Y/N's expression slipped for a moment, her shoulders tightening before she straightened up. There was a brief flash of discomfort in her eyes, but she quickly masked it, keeping her face neutral. Amy noticed, wincing, and Rosa raised an eyebrow, but Y/N just took a breath, shaking it off like it was nothing.
"Anyway, is your husband here tonight?" Her ex asked.
Y/N stayed calm—too calm. Her face didn't waver, but there was a tightness in her jaw as she finally spoke, "No, my wife is." She turned toward Rosa, who stood to her right. "This is Rosa," She continued, her eyes locking onto her ex's, "my wife."
"Oh... hey... I'm Brody," He stuttered, his eyes darting nervously between Y/N and Rosa, clearly unsettled by the realization. His smile dropped a little, and his shoulders tensed as if trying to put some distance between himself and the situation. "How... how are you... doing?" The words came out too quickly, followed by a nervous chuckle that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Don't ask me personal shit like that," Rosa grumbled.
~
Meanwhile, over near the food table, Jake was grabbing some nachos when a taller guy approached him.
"Oh, hey, David!" The guy pointed at Jake. Jake furrowed his brows, glancing over his shoulder, expecting to see someone. When he saw no one there, he turned back.
"David Price, right? It's me, Joseph from Biology." The guy gave a hopeful smile, trying to jog Jake's memory.
"Oh, uh... yeah, no. Not David," Jake laughed, raising his hands in surrender.
"No, it's definitely you." Joseph grinned and slapped Jake on the back hard enough to make him stumble. "Classic David, always messing around. So, how've you been?"
~
As Jake stood there, stuck, back with Nat and Gino, they were eating dinner.
"How about you say it with a dance?" An idea suddenly struck Gino, his eyes lighting up as he grabbed his cup.
Nat looked up from swirling her spaghetti, "Nope, not doing that," She said flatly, shaking her head before going back to her meal.
~
With Gino continuing his ideas, back at the reunion, Y/N, Rosa, and Amy were still standing with Brody, the silence was hanging between them.
Y/N forced a tight, strained smile while Rosa glared, and Amy crossed her arms.
Brody's smile drooped, and his eyes flickered between Y/N and Rosa, clearly uncomfortable, "Guess you never really grew out of it, huh?" He muttered, his voice tight. He laughed, but it came out awkward and forced.
When Y/N heard his second jab, frustration flashed across her face, her breath sharp as she clenched her fists at her sides. She held his gaze this time as she fought to keep it together. Rosa was about to step in, but before she could say anything, Amy jumped in.
"Hey, Amy Santiago!" Amy offered a firm handshake. "You remember me, right?" She had a light tone.
"Yeah, totally, theatre, right?" Brody said, clearly relieved the conversation had shifted. He shook Amy's hand with a sigh, trying to relax.
"No, Valedictorian," Amy corrected.
"Oh, right." Brody's expression fell, again. "Guess I don't remember you." He shook his head.
Just as Brody seemed ready to dig himself into a deeper hole, someone called out, "Hey, Bro!" A smaller guy appeared, cutting the conversation short.
Brody's relief was instant, "Oh, hey, man!" He turned away from the group, throwing a quick nod at Y/N, Rosa, and Amy. "Later." He walked off with the guy, eager to escape.
Amy's brows twisted as she watched Brody disappear. Turning to Y/N, she stepped a little closer, "Are you okay?"
Y/N strained a smile, but it was tight. She waved a hand dismissively, "Yeah, I'm good," Her voice was too bright. "Just, you know, classic Brody, doing Brody things. Typical. What else is new, right?" The words were too fast like she was trying to convince herself more than anyone else.
Rosa crossed her arms as she took in Y/N's stiff posture, "Dude, he was being a homophobic dick," She pointed out, scanning Y/N's face as if she was waiting for her to drop the act. "You sure I don't need to go grab my nunchucks from the car?"
Y/N's shoulders shrugged up, her smile barely holding together, "Oh, no, it's totally fine. Totally zen." She threw in a quick awkward thumbs up. "And, uh, Nat took your nunchucks."
~
Across the gym, Jake was still stuck at the food table with Joseph.
Jake's mind raced, "Uh, no, I'm really not—"
But before he could get the words out, another tall guy with a booming laugh approached him, "David! Man, it's been years!"
Jake winced, glancing around for an exit, "Great, just what I needed," He said to himself, faking a smile.
"Remember me? Greg! We played football together! You were the quarterback, right? Solid arm!" Greg laughed loudly. He turned to Joseph. "This is definitely David, right?"
Jake's eyes went wide. The walls were closing in. He glanced desperately at Joseph, who was nodding with a smile. There was no way out. Greg was staring at him.
Jake's stomach dropped. His escape route was gone. He sighed, "Yeah, yeah, sure. I'm... David. That's me." He flashed a smile that was more of a grimace.
Greg grinned even wider, clearly thrilled, "We need to catch up, man!"
~
Meanwhile, back with Nat and Gino, they were lounging on the couch, half-watching The Princess Diaries when Gino suddenly sat up straight.
"Wait! What if you wrote your feelings in a letter?" He beamed. "Like, super heartfelt, maybe with a little tear-stained paper."
Nat raised an eyebrow, turning her head to look at him. She slowly popped a piece of popcorn into her mouth, "No way, José." She shook her head with a chuckle. "That's way too extra. I need something subtle."
Gino collapsed back into the cushions, hand on his forehead, "Subtle..." He paused, considering it for a second, his face scrunching up in thought.
~
Now, back at the gym, the night continued as the three girls were on the dance floor, Rosa was bobbing her head to the music and Amy sang while Y/N stood swaying thinking about what her ex said.
Why does he have to be such an absolute pain in the ass? Y/N thought, waving to the music. But it felt like her brain was stuck on a loop. His homophobic comments kept echoing in her head. Seriously? What is his problem? She sighed inwardly. I shouldn't even care. It's not worth my energy, right? But still...
As Y/N stood there, trying to quiet the growing irritation inside her, the music thumping around her, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned, expecting maybe Jake with the food, but it was a girl from her old procrastination club.
"Hey, guys! Long time, no see!" Claire chimed over the music. She smiled at Amy and Y/N, then looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "I'm surprised you're here, Y/N. You were always the one postponing the procrastination club meetings."
-
While Y/N and Amy were chatting with Claire, a small crowd began to form around Jake at the food table. People kept stopping by, greeting him like they were old friends, and Jake, looking more and more uncomfortable, just went with it. There were too many people convinced he was David, the guy they remembered from high school, and he had no way out now.
"Yeah, yeah, that's me," Jake replied, flashing a grin that felt a little too tight. "It's crazy, right? Feels like just yesterday we were having lunch together."
"Man, you still in touch with the old crew? What've you been up to?" A guy wearing a Puka shell necklace asked from the back.
Jake hesitated for a moment, staring at the chips on the table like they held the answers to the question, "Uh, you know, life. Same ol' same ol'," He said, looking for an out. But the guy wasn't done.
"Actually, uh, I'm, uh, doing some... uh... freelance work now? You know, just... living the dream," Jake continued, his voice going up slightly as he shrugged, hoping that would be enough.
"Wow, sounds like you're killing it." A girl chimed in.
Jake's smile flaked, but he managed to keep it up, even if it felt like his face might crack, "Yep, just living the dream," He muttered again, mentally screaming for a distraction
~
It was getting later, and Gino was snuggled in his bed while Nat lay on a blow-up mattress on the floor.
Without warning, Gino announced, "Oh, my God! Nat!" His voice rang out.
Nat's hand slapping her chest as she let out a startled breath, "Ah! My gosh—you scared me," She grumbled, trying to calm the rapid beating of her heart.
"Okay, sorry, but hear me out. I've got the best idea and I will accept your thank you now. Invite Ty to the spring fling and then just tell her how you feel. It's subtle, it's intimate, just the two of you." Gino suggested. "Think about it."
Nat blinked for a moment. She processed the idea, "Wait... Actually, that's not bad. It's really not bad." A small grin tugged at her lips. "It's subtle, just us, no audience, and I don't have to make a big deal of it. Yeah, I like it."
Gino looked pleased with himself, "Told ya. Gino Linetti does it again."
Nat laughed softly, shaking her head, "Alright, alright. I'll do it. First step I gotta ask her to the dance. Easy enough." She convinced herself with a nod.
~
Back at the gym, It was getting late, and the three girls sat around a table. Amy was deep in conversation with Nina Larkin, but Y/N wasn't listening. Her mind was still stuck on the conversation from earlier.
Her jaw tightened. I'm such an idiot for ever putting up with him. What is wrong with me? She'd been trying to let it go all night, but the anger just sat there, simmering under the surface. How is he still here? Laughing like nothing happened?
She exhaled through her nose. Just breathe. Focus on the music. Focus on literally anything else. But no matter how hard she tried to shove it down, it kept creeping back up.
Her grip tightened around her cup. She wasn't going to do anything. She wasn't going to say anything. I don't care. It's fine. I'm fine. But the words felt hollow like she was trying to convince herself of something that wasn't true.
As Y/N spiraled, Rosa had been watching her for a while, noticing how her focus seemed to slip. After a beat, she leaned in closer, "Hey, you good?" Her voice cut through Y/N's thoughts.
Y/N blinked, momentarily disoriented. She straightened quickly, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes, "Yep,"
Rosa's gaze lingered on Y/N for a moment. She wasn't fully convinced, "Alright, if you say so."
"Y/N, look! It's our old P.E. teacher!" Amy piped up, pointing to the elderly lady across the gym. The mention caught Y/N's attention, and her curiosity piqued as she shifted her focus to the lady Amy had pointed out.
~
With Y/N and Amy off to talk with their old P.E. teacher, it was nearing the end of the reunion, and back at the food table, Jake's group had suddenly grown larger.
"Hey, remember that time at sleepaway camp?" Joseph recalled. "Fun times."
Jake's smile widened, taking the role of 'David' like a professional, "Yeah, it was epic."
"Wait." Another guy squinted, his face shifting as he tried to make sense of what he was seeing. "Isn't David in prison?"
The group fell silent, the question hanging in the air. Jake's grin dropped immediately, his smile cracking slightly as he let out a nervous laugh. He froze, unsure of how to respond.
~
"Cya, guys!" one girl called, waving to her friends before heading out.
More people started filtering out, but the room was still far from empty. Some guests were talking in small groups or grabbing one last snack, but it was clear the night was winding down.
"Hey, has anyone seen Jake?" Amy asked as she glanced up from her phone.
"Wasn't he supposed to grab you guys food?" Rosa recalled, holding Y/N's hand.
Before Amy could respond, Brody approached the three, his hands shifting awkwardly from one side to the other, "Hey, Y/N, I'm off. Just... wanted to say goodbye," He mumbled, his smile twitching. He glanced at Rosa, then back at Y/N, clearly trying—and failing—to hide his discomfort.
Without hesitation, Brody pulled her into a hug, but Y/N froze, gripping Rosa's hand tighter as his words from earlier still echoed in her mind, their weight pressing down on her. She didn't return the hug, unable to push them away.
Every inch of her wanted to pull away, to shove him off, to say something, but she didn't. Instead, she stood her ground, her anger almost boiling over, like one more bubble would make it spill.
Brody pulled away from the hug, his eyes lingering on their intertwined hands for a moment too long. His smile wavered, and he cleared his throat, shifting his weight from foot to foot, "Oh, so you two are, uh... really doing the whole holding hands thing, huh?" His voice was strained, and he let out a half-hearted laugh. "That's, uh... pretty bold."
Brody's words hit Y/N like a slap. Her chest tightened, and she'd had enough.
Y/N jerked her hand away from Rosa's, taking a step toward Brody. Her usual laid-back nature was gone in an instant—she was done. Done pretending to be the happy, easygoing version of herself who avoided confrontation. This time, she was standing her ground.
"Wow," Her voice was tight with barely contained fury. "You really think it's bold to hold my wife's hand? That's the hill you're gonna die on?" The words slipped out faster than she could stop them.
"Oh, damn," Rosa's hand flew to her mouth, a proud grin spreading across her face.
Amy's eyes widened, a grin spreading across her face, "You go, girl!"
Brody squirmed, "Hey, I didn't mean anything by it—"
Y/N cut him off, her fists clenching at her sides, "You didn't mean it, but you said it. And now? Now I'm done being nice about it." She stepped forward, her eyes burning with intensity.
"You think I don't notice the way you act like I'm some kind of freak just because I love my wife?" Her voice rose, louder than she intended, but she didn't care. She wasn't backing down.
"And you think it's a phase?" Y/N snapped as she shook her head. "Buddy, this was never a phase. I've always known who I am, and I don't need some backward jerk like you to tell me otherwise."
Her eyes blazed, "And you think it's funny? You think you can joke about me, about Rosa, about who we are? Well, I'm done with that. It wasn't fine then, and it's definitely not fine now. You've been a homophobe since high school, and clearly, you still are. I won't take it anymore."
Y/N waited, gaze fixed on Brody, but before he could respond, Jake's voice cut through the one-sided discussion, "Guys, come on, we need to go—now!" The urgency in his tone grabbed everyone's attention. The group he was addressing finally realized the person they'd been talking to wasn't David, and without hesitation, Jake grabbed Amy's arm, pulling her toward the door as the crowd parted to let them through.
"Cya." Y/N turned away from Brody, taking Rosa's hand in hers. "I'd say 'bi,' but I don't want to make you uncomfortable." She glanced back, faking a frown and letting a tear roll down her cheek before quickly marching out, leaving Brody standing there, speechless.
~
Now outside the gym, Jake bolted down the stairs, dragging Amy behind him.
"Wait—why are we running?!" Amy huffed, furrowing her brows as she stumbled and grabbed the railing to steady herself, shooting him a bewildered look.
"Ames, just move your legs!" Jake snapped as he barely looked back.
Scrambling behind them, Y/N's adrenaline was still pumping as she squeezed Rosa's hand, the rush of standing up to her ex still coursing through her.
"Damn, that was so hot," Rosa muttered, smirking as she glanced at Y/N.
Y/N couldn't stop herself from grinning, "I know, right? Felt like such a rebel!" She rocked on her heels, barely able to keep still. "I stood up to him!"
For a split second, Rosa's eyes softened, but it was enough. She gave Y/N's hand a quick squeeze, "Hell, yeah, you did," She grumbled. "Proud of you."
Y/N smiled, feeling lighter as she glanced at Rosa. She took a breath, trying to calm down, but then froze, her eyes widening, "Oh, no, I think I left my bag in there?"
Rosa didn't even blink, raising an eyebrow before yanking Y/N's hand, "Nope. It's the gym's bag now."
~
note:
Hi!! I decided to change Y/N's ex's name from Y/E/N to Brody. In Leather Jacket, he's called Y/E/N in the first Halloween episode, but I wanted to give him a real name.
