11 | TRAIN WRECK
Val went directly back to the hotel to catch some sleep. She wasn't quite sure where Peter went, but she didn't worry too much. Especially since she knew the moment he returned, he'd knock at her door to tell her goodnight. Fortunately, at this hotel, no one had to share rooms because of the "upgrade." While Val was at the hotel, she was informed that their trip was officially over and everyone was going home in the morning. It was sad, but what could she do? Parents were worried about their children and the elementals that seemed to be popping up in every city they travelled to.
Just as expected, a small knock came from Val's door. She swung it open and there was Peter. "You're in pajamas?!" Peter exclaimed.
"I'm tired." Val shrugged.
"I found something." Peter brushed past her and entered her room. Val closed the door, knowing what he was about to show her was likely top secret. Peter pulled out a hunk of metal from his hoodie. "Watch." Peter pressed something on the piece of tech. A huge projection lit up in the room. An image of the wind elemental appeared before them. A corresponding audio went with the visual.
Val stumbled back a bit, her back hitting the wall behind her. "The hell was that?!" Val shouted him as Peter turned it off.
"A projector. All the elemental stuff was fake. Mysterio played us. He played us all. It looked so real, there was fire and destruction, but it was all a lie." Peter sputtered the words out of his mouth. Val's jaw dropped. "Holy shit." She mumbled to herself.
"I really messed up." Peter slapped his forehead.
"We all did, don't worry. He got Fury too—" Val began to wave off his guilt.
"No, Val, I really screwed up. I gave him EDITH..." Peter admitted to her, hoping she wouldn't be too angry at him.
"What?!! Are you dumb? Why??" Val hurried up to him and shook him by the shoulders.
"I thought it was the right thing to do." Peter's eyes were sad and his eyebrows were raised.
"I'm gonna kill you after we figure all this shit out." Val smacked her lips as she scurried over to her suitcase to pull out her suit. She began to quickly undress and Peter awkwardly cough and turned away. "Why are you acting all weird? You've seen more." Val chuckled, lightening the mood a little bit.
"I, I'm just..." Peter tried to make up an excuse.
"Get dressed." Val nodded at him once she zipped up the final zipper of her suit. Peter nodded curtly at her, then headed off to his own room to throw on his suit.

Peter and Val headed straight to the Europol Headquarters the next morning. The two instantly met with Fury and Maria Hill, then promptly presented them with the projector. They explained the situation and how he probably caused all that destruction— with drones— during the fake fights. "If this is true, then Beck's very dangerous and we need to be smart. Who else did you tell about this?" Fury inquired Peter. Peter suddenly felt a strange sensation creep up his spine. He was using his spider sense to feel Quentin's presence.
"Parker? Parker!" Fury was getting real tired of losing Peter's attention.
"It's Beck, he's here." Peter prepared himself for anything to come. As if on cue, their surroundings suddenly began disappearing. As if a curtain was drawing back, revealing reality. "What?" Fury looked around as the modern building he was standing in, disappeared into an abandoned old building. Maria Hill disappeared with the scenery, too, as she was part of the set Beck must've set up before their arrival.
"It's just an il-" Peter began to shout at Fury who was starting to draw his gun for protection. But, Peter was interrupted when a gunshot blasted through the disappearing facade and into Fury's chest. Fury collapsed on sight, and Peter and Val turned around to see where the shot came from. It was a drone hovering before their eyes.
It shot Peter and sent him flying away to a lower level. Val ducked and dodged the drone, but then more began to appear. She felt trapped and stopped in her tracks. She looked around, face to face with all the technology. She used her hands to use an invisible force to fling the dozens of drones out of her way. She continued running through the abandoned building, but soon her environment began to change again. It turned into the base at HYDRA where she and her twin sister were held captive as children, raised to be assassins for their own personal use.
She saw her child form run past her, obeying the agents as they commanded her to strike and kill various dummies during training. She saw her sister, Liviana, disobeying their authority and fighting back.
The scene changed again. This time, it was of her sister Liviana, from five years ago. It was after the first fight against Thanos, right after the snap. She was taking a plane back to New York from Wakanda, and it crashed. She died upon impact.
Val felt like she was in a movie theater watching the imaged flash before her. Her eyes were stinging with hot tears as she watched the horrors of her life replay itself before her. A new scene emerged. It was of her mother and Tony, both facing off Thanos one last time. Her mother was bleeding out next to Tony on the battlefield, then Tony snapped his fingers with the gauntlet and all the infinity stones in it. She watched their last few minutes of life as they died simultaneously next to each other.
"Stop! Make it stop!" Val screamed as she began running straight through the flashing environment. But, she couldn't escape it. It was like her personal hell. Bad memories from her life kept flickering through like Mysterio was changing the channels on a television. But to Val, it was torture.
"Stop hiding, coward!" Val screamed so loud she felt her throat vibrate. Suddenly, everything went black. All around her. Val raised her hands in the air, then began to make the ground shake. She was producing an earthquake. She set her surroundings aflame, burning everything around her. As the flames reached higher, they reached the drones that were producing the images around her. The facade began to diminish as she melted the drones around her.
She shrieked even more and pushed herself to turn up the temperature on the flames. The flames grew so hot they turned blue. The drones all around her instantly fell to the ground as they were melting its metal and plastic parts.
She spotted Peter from afar, and his eyes were tracking a projection as well as drones were flooding in around him as well. She spotted Quentin standing behind the projection, ready to reveal himself to kill Peter. "You're just a sucker, and now all your friends have to die." Val heard Quentin spit at Peter. Peter kept backing up, walking backwards as he was avoiding something appearing in his projections. Quentin followed him forward. Val saw that he was about to walk right in the middle of a train track. Val began sprinting as fast as her legs could take her so she could pull Peter or kill Quentin to stop him from getting hurt.
"It's easy to fool people when they're already fooling themselves. But, for what's its worth, Peter. I really am sorry." As soon as Quentin finished his words, Peter was in the right spot in the center of the railroad. Then, a train came speeding by and hit him, taking his body with it down the tracks. Val halted to a stop. She gasped, but she wasn't too loud as she didn't want the real Quentin to spot her and take her out as he managed to do to Peter.
She spun on her heel and bolted away from the scene, tears streaming down her cheeks as she prayed that Peter was still alive and hadn't just been killed from that train. She began to sob, her throat constricting as she struggled to breath. She ran and ran to the nearest bus stop and took a ride to the nearest place she thought there'd be a phone to use.
