Chapter Twenty - One ~ The Green–Eyed Savior

Weeks had passed and still Ginny couldn’t get that bloody dream out of her head. It just had felt so damn real. She was frustrated that she had even had that blasted dream. To think that she would want to kiss Draco Malfoy for one thing was totally and absolutely berserk, preposterous, mental. There was no way in the sodding Wizarding World that she would want Draco Malfoy’s lips on hers, his body on hers; him on her. Never, never, never!

But it had felt so good, so amazing, so mind blowing! Her mind screamed.

Ginny shook her head physically as prepared her bath. She needed to stop thinking about it but she just couldn’t kid herself, the truth was that she was upset because it had only been a dream. She did want him; she wanted him badly, she thought as she finished preparing her bath, removed her clothes and slowly slid into the bath. The warm, bubbly water soothed her skin.

Lately, she had been really stressed. Not just about the whole Draco thing but also because she had been stressed over her job. Worrying about being careful not to get caught, was one thing. They had been very clear about that in the silver folder. She didn’t even want to know what would to her if she was caught. It would be a very bad thing; she tried never to think about it and just made sure she could never be caught.

Another thing was that the deaths were piling up and she was a bit uncomfortable about it. She didn’t feel guilty or anything of the sort. They were stacking up on her conscious and it was all just too much together. She needed to find some form of relaxation to save her mental well-being, honestly. She just couldn’t forget their faces, their lives, their names. They were physically implanted in her brain and because of it, she was suffering inwardly.

Ginny closed her eyes and held her breath, sliding beneath the surface of the water. As laid in the water, holding her breath she wondered what could help but nothing came to mind. Finally, she opened her eyes and stared at her ceiling from under the water. As she stared, something on the wall caught her attention and she immediately sat up in the tub, not bothering to shield herself, her wand a few feet from her hands. She stared at it for a moment and smiled; in the corner by the ceiling were the letters: G.M.W.

Those letters brought back memories of when she had moved out on her own. Being lucky child number seven and the only girl born for generations, she rarely had things of her own. So when she’d gotten the apartment, she had found a little place and engraved her initials into the wood of her wall with her want; the upper right hand corner of the bathroom wall where the door was.

Suddenly, it hit her. That’s what she would do!

She jumped up from the tub and stepped out, water dripping everywhere. She smiled as she walked bare naked into her living room; water still dripping from her body and hair towards the wall besides her bed. She kneeled in front of the wall and pulled out her wand. One by one she engraved the names of her victims into the wall and had them charmed so that they would glow for the amount of years they had lived before they had died. A few minutes later she finished, all the names still glowing as she sat back and admired her work. It read:

Here lies the works of Red:

B E L L A T R I X     L E S T R A N G E

H A N N A H     A B B O T T

V I C T O R     K R U M

R O D O L P H U S     L E S T R A N G E

C O R M A C     M C L A G G E N

M A R I E T T A     E D G E C O M B E

Ginny continued to stare as some names seized to glow and others remained, feeling relieved and much more at peace. She leaned back and smiled widely.

“Now this I can work with,” she whispered at her masterpiece then quickly whispered a difficult concealing charm to hide it from others eyes; it was only for her to see, only for her to remember.

~.~.~

GINNY WEASLEY!” A voice yelled, ripping Ginny right out of her dream and falling to the floor painfully. She groaned as she rubbed her head and sat up to see her mother standing at her bedroom door.

Ginny squinted, unable to believe that her mother was actually standing there watching her.

“Yes, Ginny, I am real. Now get up. Get dressed and be ready in fifteen minutes or so help me Merlin, you will be sorry!” Molly yelled angrily, turned on her heels and disappeared into the other side of her apartment.

Ginny stared in amazement as the woman vanished. She rubbed her head.

“Bugger,” she muttered feeling that she’d had a bump later. She sighed and looking that her mother was safely a good distance away, blinked herself into her bathroom. She took a quick shower and then blinked herself into her closet; she pulled on her undergarments then a pair of jeans and brown jumper. It was probably freezing outside. She sighed, as she walked out of her closet and put on some socks. As she tied her shoes, she wondered what was going on.

And she was about to find out because her mother was making her way over.

“Are you finished already – oh, perfect! Hurry, let’s go!” Molly clapped happily.

“Go where exactly?” Ginny asks nervously as Molly grabs her arm and begins pulling her out of the apartment. Ginny quickly mutters the incantations to the protective wards as Molly drags her, literally, down the stairs and out to the main road of Diagon Alley. Ginny looks around suspiciously making sure no one is following them. She had grown suspicious but that would keep her alive. For all she knew, someone one day might be sent out to complete a hit on her. It was just the way the world worked.

But Molly ignored her question and continued to drag her through the streets of Diagon Alley towards a stream of new restaurants that had been added since the fall of the Lord Voldemort. Everyone felt free and they felt comfortable finally to be able to follow their dreams once again instead of having to fight for their lives. For some reason, a lot of their dreams had been to become cooks, bakers and the such. So then here she was, entering the new restaurant area with her mother.

Ginny frowned; they didn’t usually go out to eat.

“Mum, seriously, where are we going?” Ginny pulled on Molly’s arm, forcing her to stop and tell her.

Molly looked at her nervously but then quickly covered it up. She smiled innocently at Ginny and said, “we are having dinner at the Green – Eyed Savior.”

Ginny almost threw up in her mouth. That was a restaurant a loyal Harry Potter fan opened on the one year anniversary of Lord Voldemort’s defeat. Personally, Ginny had never been there, set in foot in there, never even dreamed of going in there. It was bloody idiotic for her to go in there.

It was named after her ex-boyfriend, for sodding sake!

“I’m not going there, mum.” Ginny told her, crossing her arms angrily.

“Yes, you are, Ginny.” Molly stared back at her.

“No, I’m not. I’m going back to my apartment.” Ginny turned on her heel, ready to leave when she heard her mother take a deep breath. Ginny froze. It was never good when Molly Weasley had to take a deep breath.

“Ginevra Molly Weasley, you get your little bum in that restaurant right this second!” Molly growled.

Ginny cringed; she had used her entire name, middle name and everything.

She sighed, turning around to look at her mother. Molly’s hands were on her waist, her expression furious.

“Okay, mum. I’m going. So calm down,” Ginny said as she walked passed Molly towards Green – eyed Savior. She looked back to see Molly smiling triumphantly. She frowned wondering why her mum was so happy. She shrugged it off and finally came to the restaurant.

She cringed again. The restaurant was truly hideous. It was an emerald green, like Harry’s eyes, and the windows were black. It was a very small and cozy restaurant, or so it tried to be. To Ginny as she entered, it seemed move overcrowded and suffocating. She inhaled deeply and made her way towards the hostess.

“We’re looking for the Weasley table?” Ginny asked.

“We…?” The blonde haired woman asked looking behind Ginny.

“Yeah, for my mum and I,” Ginny explained to the woman slowly. She must be having trouble seeing, Ginny told herself.

“Excuse me but there is no one with you.” The woman told her and Ginny whipped around to see that she was indeed right.

Molly Weasley had disappeared.

“That’s odd,” Ginny mumbled to herself. But her family must still be here. Maybe her mother went off to the loo or something; she explained to herself. “The Weasley – ” she started to say when the hostess cut her off.

“Oh, you’re Ginny Weasley, right?”

Ginny nodded slowly, nervous for why the woman knew her.

“That’s right, this way to your table.” The woman nodded her head to the right and began to walk away but stopped when she noticed that Ginny wasn’t following her. “This way please, Miss. Weasley.”

Ginny followed her reluctantly. As the turned a corner, Ginny noticed the restaurant was a bit bigger than she suspected and that the place was more crowded than she’s thought. She groaned when the hostess turned to look at her and smiled.

“I think that what you are doing is sweet,” the hostess told Ginny.

Ginny frowned. What the hell am I doing? She wondered.

“It’s not like most people listen to their mums anymore, especially at your age,” she continued.

Listen to my mum at my age? Ginny asked herself.

“I know blind dates are hard but I think people should be more opened to them. You never know who you might meet. He might be the man of your dreams…” The hostess was saying but Ginny stopped listening at blind date.

Blind date, blind date, BLIND DATE! That’s what she was doing here! She stopped in her tracks, the hostess didn’t even notice as she approached a table where a man was sitting. He was wearing dark green dressing robes, his black cloak hanging off the back of his chair; his black hair was styled perfectly aside from bits sticking up as if he’d run his fingers through his hair repeatedly. The man was reading a menu but when he looked up, Ginny could see he had light eyes; light eyes which looked kind of green from where she was standing.

She stared wide eyed at the man at the table.

No, it was not her ex-boyfriend, Harry Potter.

But it was a Harry Potter look-a-like! Her mother had set her up with a Harry Potter look-a-like!

Fury bubbled inside Ginny’s veins and she spun on her heels and marched to the loo, throwing open the door that read ‘witches’ and slammed the door angrily behind her; not caring in the least if everyone in the entire restaurant heard it.

She stood in front of the mirror, hands clinging to the sink and looked into the mirror. An identical image of herself was frowning at her.

“What’s wrong, dear?” the mirror asked.

“My mum is a bloody nightmare!” Ginny growled.

“Why would you say that?” it asked.

“She set me up on a blind date with a man who looks identical to my lying, cheating, good-for-nothing ex-boyfriend!” Ginny spat at the mirror.

Her image actually shuttered, “oh dear, I’m sure she meant no harm. Maybe she didn’t know –”

Ginny cut it off, “she knew bloody well. She’s a – she’s a – she’s a…argh!” Ginny growled as she turned around and kicked the door to one of the stalls. It exploded as soon as her foot made contact with it. Ginny jumped back in shock.

Okay, maybe I need to calm down; she told herself as she looked down at the shattered pieces of the door.

“Oh, that’s not good.” The mirror said.

“Oops, sorry,” Ginny muttered as she realized that she needed to get out of there.

She quickly opened the door to the loo, the door closes behind her. She looks around and notices that no one is around. She exhaled as she closed her eyes, blinking herself far away from Green – eyed Savior and her mother’s bloody idiotic plan.
