Chapter Nineteen ~ Surprise
A few months later…
Ginny Weasley was sitting across the street from where her very first assignment awaited her. At the moment, she felt sorrow and pity for the woman even though said woman was the cause of many horrible, many terrible things.
Remorse…how can I feel this way? This woman, she deserves this more than anyone I have ever known, maybe not Tom Riddle, but more than any other victim. It’s quite simple actually. She deserves it; she deserves what’s coming to her and that is why I am here, Ginny thought as she stared up at the very small window of the very high up office building. Ginny bit her lip as she watched the window. She looked at her watch, sighed and closed her eyes. When she opened them, she was sitting on the ledge outside the window she had been watching. She stretched then smiled at her accuracy and looked inside the window.
Ginny bit her tongue to keep herself from crying out. The woman had her back to Ginny. Her long, black hair cascaded down her back; her black dress skin tight. Ginny could see a young girl kneeling before the woman and when she looked hard enough, she could see the girl’s tears falling to the blood red carpet at the woman’s feet. She grabbed the girl’s brown hair and tugged roughly. The girl cried out.
Ginny couldn’t hear anything over the pumping of her heart in her ear.
Anger poured through Ginny’s veins as she saw the woman scratch something into the young girl’s arm. And when Ginny looked closely, she saw “Mudblood” etched into her skin, blood oozing out. Tears sped down the girl’s cheeks.
Ginny’s blood began to boil as she heard the woman’s acidic laugh over the young girl’s pain.
“I need to relax, I need to relax,” Ginny whispered to herself.
So she hummed her favorite tune which sounded bittersweet to the naked ear and told a tale of vengeance and pain but ironically but with the most beautiful hint of love. It sailed through the wind.
Ginny saw the woman stiffen and a bitter smile spread on her face. The woman slowly turned around, her soulless black eyes widening in surprise as she noticed Ginny sitting on the ledge of her window. Ginny smirked as she pushed open the window.
“Run, little bird,” Ginny whispered to the young girl whose eyes were closed as she lifted her wand, preparing to mutter the infamous killing curse.
She whispered it and her aim was impeccable; Ginny watched as her lifeless body fell to the floor. Payback for when the woman had almost killed her in the Final Battle. Molly had jumped in and fought her but the woman had faked her death, planning on finding some way to resurrect the Dark Lord once again. But now, she couldn’t have faked her own death. Ginny got her this time. And just like that, Ginny’s profession became that of a hit-witch by the name of Red and her first kill known as Bellatrix Lestrange.

Soft music played in the background of Ginny’s apartment as she made herself a quick lunch. She was making a sandwich with turkey and cheese; Butterbeer was already on her table waiting for her to sit down and get comfortable. Ginny finished making her sandwich and sat the table. As she ate it, she thought about the last few months of her life since she had taken that silver folder. Kingsley had been right about one thing, this opportunity had changed her life. She had accepted the new opportunity, took the job and found out something that completely blew her mind.
Ginny had been recruited into a secret organization within the Ministry of Magic that only a few people who weren’t members knew about. The members were kept apart, no one knew the other members. But according to Kingsley, a member is taken but they have the cover ID as an Auror but usually some take part – time jobs just to help their cover even more. The members also have some form of a gift. Ginny was considered a Blinker; a teleporter, a transporter, one and the same.
She had been taught and trained new spells like the Unforgivable Curses but also others. Ginny was well versed in spells. They had taught her how to be more accurate with her blinking and how to perfect her aim with her wand. She was unstoppable, a force to reckoned with.
But she wasn’t allowed to tell anyone, really but she told Neville and Luna because hey, they were her best friends and they knew everything about her.
As she finished up her sandwich and her Butterbeer, she was amazed at how quickly time just seemed to pass by. It felt like just the other day when the group sat around the same table she was sitting at now, drinking Firewhiskey. Many days kept passing by and now, she was flooded with memories again but pleasant ones this time. She was no longer drowning in the memories of Harry sodding Potter who had ruined her bloody life all those months ago. Ginny sat back and smiled; she was over Harry. She was finally over Harry and boy was she happy now. Well, relatively happy. She was still missing something; something she’d rather not think of.
She hadn’t seen Draco Malfoy in months. She actually missed the teasing git. She bit her lip as she stared at her empty plate. Maybe I should go see him; she wondered.
“Definitely not,” she whispered as Artemis came into the room, meowing loudly. “Yes, Artemis?”
Artemis continued to meow loudly, rubbing herself against Ginny. Ginny sighed and decided that this was Artemis or Merlin’s way of agreeing with her thought. She bit her lip as she stood up, fed Artemis quickly and grabbed her cloak. Just before she blinked herself on her way, she wondered where exactly she could find him.
“Let’s try his room at Malfoy Manor,” She said out loud and blinked herself there.

Draco stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around his body. He stretched, looking at himself in the mirror. He frowned as he continued to look at himself wondering when he would get his next assignment. He was a little sore and bruised up from the previous one but he was healing. He ran a hand through his dripping wet white blonde hair as he exited his private bathroom. As he closed the door behind him, he was just about to speed forward he heard her voice.
“Hello, Draco.” Ginny called.
Draco jumped and almost dropped his towel.
“Ginny! What the hell are you doing here?” He hissed, “I know you want to see me naked but you don’t have to surprise me in order for you to get what you want. You need only ask.” He teased when he gathered himself.
Ginny raised her eyebrow in response.
“I don’t want to see you naked, Draco. I just came by to see you…and they led me up here.” She lied. After she’d blinked from her apartment, she had landed right on top of Draco’s bed. Luckily it had been empty but she had quickly found out that Draco was in the shower. He’d come out before she could do anything.
“You couldn’t have apparated right into my bedroom, witch.” He told her.
“I told you I didn’t.” She tried but he wasn’t going to believe her.
But Draco decided to let it go.
“Close your eyes, Gin,” Draco said but Ginny had already closed them. He smirked, looked around and sped silently to her side then whispered lowly into her ear, “unless you want to see the dragon.”
Ginny squealed in surprise to Draco’s warm breath brushing against her neck and ear.
“Draco, back off!” She growled, hands covering her eyes.
Draco chuckled and quickly dressed himself in a pair of black trousers and a black dress shirt; his usual ensemble.
“Anyway, Red, what are you doing here? Miss me?” He asked, leaning back on his bed as he watched Ginny standing in the middle of his bedroom, her hands still covering her eyes.
“Well, it’s just that…I kind of – of…wait! No, I didn’t miss you, you slimy git.” She frowned.
Draco snorted, “I’m dressed so you can open your eyes now.”
She slowly and carefully looked between her fingers and found that he was indeed dressed.
“Anyway, I wanted to catch up. We haven’t seen each other in awhile.” She shrugged as if it was nothing.
“Catch up? Is that right, Weasel?” He smirked.
“Yes, you bouncing ferret.”
“Draco, let’s go I’m dying to –” Both Ginny and Draco looked up to see Pansy Parkinson walking through the doors of Draco’s room. Pansy stopped when she noticed Ginny standing in front of Draco. She looked between the two and smirked.
“Draco, dear, I didn’t know you had company.” Pansy said, brushing back a lock of her dark hair.
“Weasley was just stopping by to say hi.” He told her.
Ginny bit her lip.
“Pansy Parkinson,” Pansy introduced herself. “We didn’t exactly get off on the right foot back in the day. Sorry about that.” She smiled.
Ginny watched her suspiciously.
“It’s okay, Red.” Draco whispered into her ear, causing her to jump in surprise and almost blink herself out of the room. Being around Draco was dangerous for her. Her heart pounding loudly, she was jumpy and nervous. She could accidentally blink herself somewhere.
“Oh, all-bloody-right,” Ginny whispered back to Draco then added, “Hi Pansy,” as she shook the other woman’s hand.
“I guess you’re busy,” Pansy said as she looked between the two.
“No, no. I came uninvited. Sorry to interrupt. I’ll talk to you later, Draco.” Ginny said quickly, excusing herself and exited the room before Draco could even say a word.
As soon as she was out of sight, she blinked herself away.
~.~.~
“Seriously, Draco, if I would have known you were otherwise preoccupied with your recent fancy, I wouldn’t have interrupted.” Pansy said as he and Draco sat at a table at their most recent favorite restaurant. They were waiting for Blaise to show up. He was ridiculously late.
“I already told you, Pansy. It was a surprise visit. I didn’t know she was going to show up. I got out of the shower and there she was waiting in my room. Telling me someone had showed her to my room; which they wouldn’t usually do. And when I spoke to the butler, he informed that nobody entered or exited the Manor. But you saw her, she was there.” Draco explained as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
“But no one can apparated into the Manor.” Pansy told him as if he didn’t already know.
“Exactly, that’s odd.” Draco answered her.
“Sorry, sorry, sorry I’m late!” Blaise came rushing to their table. “Cristiano won’t leave me the bloody hell alone!” He growled.
“Don’t tell me you shagged him, Blaise?” Pansy frowned at him.
“I can’t help it. I’m incredibly lonely.” Blaise complained as he sat down in his chair.
“You need to speak to Longbottom.” Draco told him.
Blaise simply glared at Draco, not saying a word. Draco knew that the name Neville Longbottom was taboo.
“Maybe you should get back to the women,” Pansy shrugged as she sipped her wine.
“Are you offering yourself?” Blaise’s eyes widened in surprise.
“No bloody way,” She snorted and called the waiter over so that they could order. “You should be more like Draco here.”
“Ah, shag with every willing woman because I can’t have the one I want?” Blaise said innocently.
In the blink of an eye, Draco’s wand was positioned against Blaise’s temple.
“Come again, mate?” Draco asked.
“Nothing,” He smiled.
“That’s what I thought.” Draco chuckled as the waiter arrived.
