Chapter Fourteen ~ Acceptance

"Colin Creevey, eh?" Draco Malfoy smirked at her flushed face.

Ginny blushed to the tips of her ears, "yes, and then I sobered up. Colin made a copy for Neville who keeps it hidden somewhere that I'm sure not even his Gran knows where it is." She frowned as she remembered seeing the picture the next day. It just made it worse that Colin had kept them as magical pictures so Ginny and Colin in the photos had moved.

She groaned as she remembered herself rubbing against him and it showed in the photo. It was so embarrassing.

"But then Colin passed away and I had completely forgotten about it until Neville brought it up this morning in the letter. I had kind of hoped he'd destroyed it or possibly lost it. I bet he's kept it framed away in his closet just for moments like this." She bit her lip.

Draco watched her and tried to picture her how she was back in her fourth year and his fifth year back at Hogwarts. He couldn't remember her well, just that time that she had hit him with her Bat-Bogey hex. It had been a bloody nightmare. At that time, he'd kept her and the "Golden Trio" captive for Umbridge. Not that that had worked or anything; they ended up getting away.

After that, his father had been arrested and sent to Azkaban. Later, his father had broken out along with his psychopath aunt, Bellatrix; only to be later arrested after the Final Battle. And now that is where the great Lucius Malfoy now resides.

"Earth to Draco, are you there?" Ginny's voice pulled him out of his thoughts. He looked down to see her looking up at him with her warm brown eyes. He almost melted as he looked into them; key word, almost.

"Red, back up a bit. You're invading my personal space. Any closer and you would be in my pants...wait, was that what you wanted? To be in my pants, I mean?" He teased.

"Draaaaco! Merlin, enough with the jokes." She blushed and pushed him lightly, stepping away from him.

"Sorry, sorry. I can't help it. You're just too easy to tease." He chuckled as he followed her.

At that moment, a tapping noise came from the window a few feet away from them. Ginny's head shot up as she saw it was an owl. She looked over at Draco who was looking at her. He hadn't looked away.

"What?" She asked.

"I think it's for you." He told her.

"For me? Why would it be for me?" She wondered.

"It might be looking for you, Ginny." He said as he walked to the window, letting the owl in and just as he thought, it went straight to Ginny.

She opened and gasped.

"I told you," Draco smiled because he had a feeling he knew exactly what the letter said.

~.~.~

Monday morning found Ginny Weasley in front of her mirror, staring at her brand new Auror training robes. She'd gone out and bought them as soon as she'd left WWW that afternoon she'd received that owl. Draco had grabbed her immediately, told George they were going out and they had went and bought them. She smiled as she remembered looking at herself when they'd been fitted.

When she had told George he had understood her need to move on with her life and had reminded her that he would be fine without her. She replayed the conversation in her head...

"I'll be fine without you, I promise." George smiled at her

"But George..." She paused, "I don't want you to be alone here. I know Draco is hardly ever here. Most of the time it was only you and me. Plus, who will take care of your finances and all that lovely stuff? Surely not you, George."

"Ginbug, I'll be fine. And I can do this on my own. I don't really need the help but I will find someone."

Ginny looked over at him, uncertain of what to do. She couldn't let him run his business on his own. She knew business was great and he'll survive but if he's alone it will only remind him more that his twin is gone.

"Okay George but I'm only officially leaving when you find someone else to help you." She told him, holding her ground.

"That's not necessary, Gin. I already found someone to help me. Now, you can put your fears behind you and do something with your life that you enjoy! I know you're afraid but who cares? You'll be fine and you'll do great!" He said smiling at her.

The memory faded and Ginny was once again looking at her reflection. George was right, of course. She was petrified of the Wizarding World even more so after the whole incident with Harry and Hermione. The world just had seemed so pointless to go on alone but she had finally shrugged those feelings aside and here she was now.

She had taken Luna's, Neville's, Blaise's and Draco's advice. She pulled out the envelope that was addressed to her from right after she had graduated and the one she had received a few days ago. The one she had received after graduating from Hogwarts was a letter congratulating her on her graduation and also informing her that she had been accepted into Auror training. When she had first received it, she had pushed it aside because Harry was working as an Auror already and in the future she'd have to watch over "their" children and "their" home.

Sweet Merlin how pathetic was I? I can't believe I was going to give up everything I ever wanted and more for that cheating bastard; how bloody pathetic, Ginny thought to herself.

She pulled her flaming red hair into a high ponytail and adjusted her robes.

She looked down at the second letter, the one she received a few days ago, from the Ministry of Magic; informing her that she still had the qualifications for the Auror training if she still wanted to accept the acceptance. She was ecstatic to hear that and had immediately began researching all kinds of books on Aurors and their training.

She finally had a purpose, something to do and by Merlin, she would be the best at it. She smiled as she tucked her wand into her sleeve, where she had a secure wand holder around her wrist which George had given to her last night. It was perfect for quick access. With that, she grabbed her bag and headed downstairs to say bye to George. She left her quickly muttered the enchantments for the protective wards to her apartment and entered WWW.

"We're not opened yet," an familiar voice told her as the door closed behind her.

"Luna Lovegood...?" Ginny asked because she was uncertain it was her.

"Yeah, Ginny it's me." Luna's voice came from the backroom. At that moment, Ginny turned around to see Luna wearing one of the magenta robes and holding some items in her hand.

"You work here ? Since when?" Ginny asked surprised that one of her best friends was working for her brother and she hadn't even known.

"Since today, I asked George a couple of days ago if he needed some help at the shop and he said yes. So here I am." Luna shrugged and went behind a shelf to put away some things.

"But..but why?" Ginny asked.

"Hey, hey! You're distracting my new help!" George's voice interrupted them.

"It's okay, George. Ginny's just confused," Luna said in her dreamy voice then turned back to Ginny. "Because he needed help and you trust me, Draco trusts me and so does George. So it works out."

George smiled slightly at the two women and just walked away.

"Why are you here, Ginny?" Luna asked.

"Today I begin my Auror training," Ginny smiled happily.

"Ah, that's right!" Luna grinned.

"I'm just here to say I'm heading out to the Ministry of Magic."

"That's why I'm here too," a new voice had Ginny jumping. The voice was right behind her, in her ear.

"Draco, don't do that!" Ginny cried.

He chuckled, he was dressed in his Auror robes. Ginny gulped, he looked so damn good. It was a crime, well, it should be. His white blonde hair hung loose into his eyes. He looked at her, she blushed at his stare.

"Stop staring, Red. You're drooling." Draco smirked as he grabbed her arm. "Let's go. You're going to be late. Everyone say 'Good luck,'" Draco said.

"Good Luck!" Two voices said as Draco pulled her out of WWW and towards her new future.
