Chapt. 8
"No! Please! Don't!"
"Mmphf! Mmphf!!!"
"Why are you doing this, Jane!? Please, stop this!" I kneel down to my master's face and cup his face into my hand. I've been chopping on his back for the past hour while his wife was tied up next to him.
These are the people who took me in, but their foster children were mean and bullies to me. So much has changed the last time I lived here, and there is hardly any children for me to poison tonight. After I whipped up a good chemical from the supply room in Ciel's mansion.
What a waste.
"Mr. Jones, this is for your own good. All you've done was ignore me while the other kids were bullying me. They blamed for everything and you and your wife didn't believe a word a told you. So, I'm going to ignore your cries and won't believe that you're in pain." I say while tilting my head to the side.
I let go of Mr. Jones's face and grab my axe, and stand over him, and go back to chopping down on his back. He dies over blood loss as his wife is staring at me with horror.
"Don't worry. I won't do the same to you like I did to your husband. When I use to live here, your punishments for me were mainly slapping me across the face a lot. So, I will do the same to you." I drop my axe and kneel in front of her.
"J-Jane, please... Stop..." Mrs. Jones cries while shutting her eyes.
"Stop your crying." I slap her across the face. "Let's see how many beatings you can endure." I end up beating Mrs. Jones to death with her body covered in bruises.
She had a broken nose, lost a tooth, and many bruises on her arms, stomach, and legs. She was long dead, but I continued to kick her lifeless body.
I look at the clock on the wall and see it was almost 4 in the morning. "I should head back..." I tell myself and pick up my axe. At least this time I didn't get any blood on my clothes.
I returned to the manor and went straight to my room, but ran into Sebastian. "Milady? What are you doing up so late?"
"Sebastian..." I could only say his name. It's good thing I hid the axe somewhere in the manor before I came upstairs.
"And you are fully clothed. How long have you been up? What were you doing at this hour?" I couldn't answer him because I didn't know what to say. And I was too tired to reply...
I close my eyes and drop to my knees, falling fast asleep, but Sebastian caught me in his arms. I feel him carry me back to my bedroom, dress me into my night clothes, and tuck me into bed.
The next morning, I am awoken by Sebastian and he bathed me. "Ah, your wounds are starting to heal." Sebastian smiles at the healing process. The bruises are slowly fading and the cuts are beginning to close up. "In no time, you'll be as good as new, and soon you'll be walking properly again."
"Won't I have to go through physical therapy in order for me to walk again?" I look at him as he is knelt in front of me.
"Yes, and I will happy to assist you, Milady. The Young Master has ordered me to nurse you back to health, and that is what I shall do." Sebastian smirks up at me. He leans up and gets really close to my face, causing me to blush a bit.
"Sebastian?" I try to take a step back, but his arm drapes around my waist and he pulls me closer to him. Not wanting to struggle, because I know it will hurt my body, I stand still and shut my eyes.
But Sebastian doesn't do anything. "So delicate..." He mutters. This is the second time he's said this. "When was the last time a man tenderly held you like this, Milady?" He smirks down at me.
"I..." I didn't know how to answer that question because I can't remember the last time. Everything was forced and I couldn't help what I felt on those days... "Sebastian, why are you doing this? This is wrong." I frown and look away, avoiding eye contact.
"Doing what? I'm taking care of you like my Master has ordered me to~" I didn't want this to go any further, but what more can I do? All I could do was stay still.
When I thought he was going to do something else, I feel a soft, warm pair of lips on my cheek, causing me to blush a crimson red. Sebastian was kissing my cheek!
His lips were so soft and warm. Nobody has ever kissed me like that. I can't remember the last time my parents ever kissed me on the cheek so tenderly and loving like this.
"S-Sebastian." I look up at him, the crimson blush not leaving my cheeks. He doesn't say anything but smirk at me again before stripping me from my clothes completely and getting me into the bath.
After bathing me, I am dressed in another black dress and I am left alone in the gaming room, since that is where I told Sebastian to take me. I'm getting good at pool an darts, and thanks to Sebastian's teachings, I've been practicing.
"So, this is where you were?" Ciel walks into the room.
"Maste- I mean, Ciel. Good morning." I greet him. "Did you sleep well?"
"Yes, I did. I hope you did as well. Sebastian told me he found you fully clothed and in the middle of the hallway last night. Were you sleep walking?"
"I think so." I tilt my head. "I remember getting out of bed, but that's about it. Shouldn't you be in your studies doing work?"
"I have the day off today until something comes up." Ciel walks over to me and takes a dart out of my hand. "How about a game of darts before breakfast, shall we?"
"Sure!" I smile at him.
"So Jane, how do you like living here so far?" Ciel asks me as we play.
"It's a lot different from my other homes. Everyone is so nice. I've never been treated this way. before" I smile once more.
"Sebastian tells me that he found you in the laundry room cleaning clothes. You told him that you were use to doing chores in your previous temporary homes."
"That's right." I nod my head. "It's a force of habit... I'm sorry."
"There's no need to be sorry about anything, Jane. You shouldn't be doing chores. You aren't a servant. As long as you live in this manor, you are a free person." Ciel says as he throws another dart. He looks at me and blinks when he notices me staring at him with wide eyes.
'A free person...' I repeat his words in my head and feel a tear slide down my cheek.
"Jane, are you alright?" Ciel asks.
"Ciel..." I walk over to him and hug him close, gently wrapping my arms around his neck. "Thank you... Thank you so much!" I cry. I feel his arms gently wrap around my waist, hugging me back.
"You're welcome." He whispers to me.
After breakfast, Ciel and Sebastian went out to investigate the case they are working on. Ciel wanted me to stay so that we wouldn't have a repeat of last time.
During this time, I went to the garden house to grab my axe and clean it. Finny hasn't been in the garden house yet, so this gives me the opportunity to grab it and clean it.
While I was cleaning my axe, I hear the front door being slammed opened, causing me to hide the axe underneath my bed. I limp down the hallway and to the staircase to see a young girl with blonde hair with pigtails, green eyes, and in an orange dress.
"CIIEEELLLL!!!!!" She shouts while running around the manor. By the time I make it down the stairs, the girl stops in front of me and blinks. "Oh, hello there. Who are you?"
"Who are you?" I ask back.
"My name is Lizzy! I'm Ciel's fiancée!" She introduces herself.
"Jane Montfort." I say my name back. "I'm living with Ciel." I don't think I should tell her why I'm living here. She could get the wrong idea of Ciel, or give me a look that I won't like. "You're here for Ciel? Him and Sebastian left to for an investigation."
"Oh. So, I just missed him? That's too bad." Lizzy pouts her cheeks and frowns.
"If you want, you can wait around until he returns."
"Okay! I can get to know you a little better, Jane! We will have tea and play games!"
"Alright." I tilt my head and smile. I have the perfect game for the two of us...
