Chapt. 20
Claude lied to me about Ciel and Sebastian coming home early, but I didn't let it bother me. I didn't question his intentions. It's not like I'll be seeing him again any time soon.
Right now, I was with Sebastian in the library while he was dusting the shelves and I was reading one of the books. "Sebastian, I was wondering about something..."
"What is it, Milady?" Sebastian turns and looks at me.
"When you told me that Ciel and Alois had their feud, did you and Claude have a feud as well?" I ask, looking up from my book.
"What brings this up, Milady?"
"Because Claude was here yesterday."
"What?!" Sebastian and grabs my hands gently. "Did you do anything to you, Milady? Are you hurt?"
"He didn't do anything but lie about you and Ciel being home early and that Ciel had invited Alois over. I guess he just wanted to speak to me in private. But, he asked me how it was like living in the Phantomhive manor than being a slave. It was an odd question to ask me."
Sebastian sighs in relief and straightens himself up. "As long as you're alright, I suppose."
~Sebastian's P.O.V.~
I can't believe that spider. The nerve of him coming near what doesn't belong to him. He has already taken a liking to Mistress Jane. Up to his old tricks again. That spider should know that this human is mine and mine alone.
"Sebastian, are you okay? You paused for a moment there." Jane looks at me with a worry, and I couldn't help but smile at her adorable face.
"Everything is alright, Milady. You do not need to worry about a thing." I lean down and kiss her forehead. "Is there anything particular you want for lunch?"
"Baked apple?" She smiles.
"Very good, Milady."
~Jane's P.O.V.~
After lunch, I had went to Ciel's office to help him with the investigation. Him and Alois were going to meet up again and ask witnesses around town later this afternoon. I felt like helping Ciel out and spend time with him before he goes back out again.
"Hey, Ciel? Can you tell me about Alois?" I look at him while asking him.
"Why do you want to know about Alois?" Ciel looks back at me with confusion.
"I'm just curious about him." I smile.
"All you need to know about Alois is that he's a brat and thinks everything is a game to him."
"You make it sound like you hate him so much, despite you and him having a small feud with one another."
"I do hate him, and working with him is just torture."
"Can't you tell me a little bit more about him?" I pout and my eyes wander to the newspaper of a woman's body being found. "I've seen that tattoo before." I say, looking closely at the body in the newspaper.
"What do you see?" Ciel looks at me.
"The tattoo on her shoulder. It's same one from the black market? One of my sellers' has that same tattoo, but it's on his wrist."
"What did that tattoo mean?"
"I don't know. He never talked about his tattoo."
"Jane, do you know where your seller is? Do you know anything about his whereabouts?" Ciel looks at me with a serious look.
"Um, let me think." I glance over to my right, thinking back. "If I remember correctly, my guess would be that building on the west side of London. The tall building that is big enough to be a house. I saw him go in there a few times when I was with one of my previous master's. But, I'm not sure if he still goes there or not."
"Can you take me there?" Ciel grasps my hand, making me blush a bit.
"S-Sure." I nod my head. Sebastian prepared a carriage ride and Ciel had contacted Alois to meet us on the west side of London. When we arrived there, Alois and Claude was already there waiting for us.
"Jane! What are you doing here?!" Alois grins when he sees me. "I thought you said she were to stay at your manor?" Alois smirks at Ciel.
"Jane might know where our culprit is. Are you sure this is the place, Jane?" Ciel looks at me and I look around the street we are in.
"It should be this way." I take the lead and walk a few blocks down the road, and come across the familiar building. "Here it is. This is the building."
"Let's go. Stay close to me, Jane." Ciel takes a hold of my hand and we all go inside. It was dark, but the place looked neat.
"Do you think our culprit is here, Master?" Sebastian asks Ciel.
"Only one way to find out. Alois, check upstairs. Sebastian and I will check this floor."
"Fine." Alois rolls his eyes and heads upstairs with Claude. Ciel, Sebastian, and I go the kitchen. There was a door near the corner, next tot he stove. Sebastian opened it and it lead to a dark stairway, going downstairs.
"Jane, stay here. If you find anything, call for me or Sebastian." Ciel instructs me as him and Sebastian go downstairs. As I patiently wait for their return, I hear a muffled whimper coming from inside the building.
I look around, trying to locate the sound, but it was too dark for me to see. I take baby steps out of the kitchen and hear the muffled whimper again. I turn my head to the clock tower, where I had heard the whimper.
The hands on the tower clock wasn't moving, so I figured it was old or it just stopped working. I tap the bell on it and the clock started to move sideways. Behind it, it lead a passageway.
"Ciel?" I look back at the kitchen and I didn't get an answer. I guess they were still in the basement. I should go get them and tell them about this passageway.
When I was about to walk back to the kitchen, I feel a hand clamp over my mouth and I am pulled inside a dark room. My screams were muffled and I was thrown onto the ground.
"I never thought I would see you again, Jane." That voice! My seller!
"S-Sir?" I try to locate him through the darkness. A small light was shine, causing my eyes to squint, and my chin was grabbed.
I was facing my seller who had blonde hair and green eyes, and a slender body. "Look at you. All cleaned up and healthy." He smirks. "I guess that boy must have tamed you well. But that doesn't explain what you're doing here."
I couldn't say anything as memories began to flow back. When I didn't answer, the grip on my chin had tightened.
"Answer me, Jane." My seller growled, getting irritated.
"A-Are you kidnapping women?" I ask him. "That tattoo on the woman's body that was found on the bench... You have the same tattoo as her. You placed it on her to symbolize that she was yours, didn't you?"
"Heh. What a smart girl." My seller brings his face closer to mine. "You know better than to stick your nose in somebody else's business."
"I am not. I am with Earl Phantomhive."
"What?!" Sir's eyes widened. "That brat is the Earl Phantomhive? Why didn't I realize the moment I sold you to him. I should have known." Sir glares at me. "He's here, isn't he? He's in this building. Answer me!" He tightens his grip on my chin again.
"Y-Yes!"
"Then, I will have to do this quickly." Sir grabs a fistful of my hair and drags me to a room that is filled with other women, and little girls. They looked like life-size dolls that looked dress for a tea party. These are the missing girls!
"Wh-What are you doing to them?"
"I'm making them my little dolls, Jane. Ever since the black market had 'went out of business', I decided to entertain myself." Sir smirks. "These are my dolls and I can do whatever I want to them. And they can't say, or do anything about it. And, you're going to be one of them~"
"Wh-What?" I turn to him with widen eyes.
"You are the perfect candidate, Jane. You'll be my sweet, ultimate doll. Do you wish to know how I keep them so still? Unable to speak?"
"You drugged them..." I say, my voice shaking. "Just how you drugged me..."
"That's right." Sir leans down to my neck and inhales my scent. "You were such a naughty little girl. A little troublemaker. But, you and I had lots of fun, didn't we? Let's pick up where we left off, shall we?" Sir takes out a needle and brings it to my arm, but I say,
"If you had placed your tattoo on me, would I have been yours? Would you have taken care of me?"
Sir didn't inject the needle my arm yet when he is thrown off by my question. "Of course I would, Jane. I would've taken good care of you, just like how I would have take care of my others dolls. Even if you were a troublemaker, I would have disciplined you my way~" Sir purrs into my ear. "Just like how I disciplined you in the special room~"
"Please, mark me as yours, sir."
"What?" Sir takes a step back.
"Please," I turn to him and stand up, and walk closer to him. "Mark me as yours, so that everyone knows that I belong to you, and you alone." I smile and hug his waist. I feel his body tense up. "Make me all yours, Sir. Make all of me yours!" I smirk and stab Sir in the stomach with a scalpel.
Sir grunts and tries to pry me off of him, but my grip on his waist hasn't loosened. I stab him a few more times before releasing my hold on him. Sir takes a few steps back and slowly crawls away from me.
I sadistic-ly giggle at him while making my way towards him. "I'll carve a tattoo of my own into your flesh so that we both match, okay?" My eyes widen with excitement.
Sir doesn't say anything. All he could do was cough up blood while holding his stomach. I giggle once more as I raise the scalpel to finish him off, but my wrist is grabbed and Sir is out of my sight because someone is in between us.
"That's enough of that, Lady Jane." Claude had grabbed my wrist and pushed me away from Sir. I blink, coming back to my senses and look at the scalpel in my hand. My eyes widen at what I had done.
"I-I"
"There, there, Lady Jane. It's alright. He's not going to hurt you." Claude holds me against him closely and makes me drop the scalpel. "Everything is going to be okay."
"Claude! What's going on down there!?" I hear Alois's voice.
"Jane!" Ciel runs into the passage way and over to me. I walk out of Claude's hold ad say,
"Ciel, I-" I am cut off when Ciel hugs me tightly, and protectively, against him.
"Thank goodness, you're alright... It's okay. You're safe now." Ciel whispers and holds me closely.
~Sebastian's P.O.V.~
Scotland Yard arrives and arrests the culprit, and take the women and girls to the hospital for medical treatment. "It's a good thing Claude found you, or else you would have ended up like those other girls. But, it all turned out alright in the end!" Alois smiles at Jane.
"It was really scary seeing all of those women sitting in chairs and all dressed up, like they were in a dollhouse." Jane replies.
"Are you alright, Jane? He didn't hurt you, did he?" My master asks me.
"I'm alright. Thanks to Claude, he found me and saved me." She smiles. He must have put his hands all over her. I can smell him on her. He knows better than to touch what isn't his. Damn spider. "Thank you, Claude."
"There's no need to thank me, Lady Jane. After all," Claude smirks and glances at me. "I am simply one hell of a butler."
