S C A R L E T T 💣

"Harry, honestly it's fine," I grumbled as I followed him out the exit.

He was insisting on taking me a sleep specialist or something for some advice on my nightmares. I was being a bit selfish and pathetic but refusing because I was afraid he wasn't going to sleep with me if my nightmares stopped.

"No it's not fine, Scarlett. You can't sleep with me forever you know. You need to cure this problem of yours," he said firmly, as we approached his favorite sleek black BMW.

"You're right," I sighed, feeling my heart fall a little when he spoke his words. I needed to stop acting like a sensitive teenager for god's sake!

The ride into the city was slightly short. It was a fairly sunny day, and I was happy I wore more comfortably clothes this time than the usual all black combat stuff. But I was still forced to keep a knife tucked into my pocket, for safety reasons. I walked alongside Harry towards a fairly large building. Apparently he had booked an appointment with a sleep specialist who was apparently part of The Organization, but quit to pursue a career in sleep therapy instead.

"What's his name?" I asked Harry as he sat down next to me in the waiting area.

"David Smith," he answered, folding his arms over his chest as he leaned back slightly into his seat.

I was about to say something else until a little boy walked up to him. I watched in amusement as the small Hispanic boy with bright eyes, smiled up at him eagerly, only for Harry to frown hardly back.

"Why did you draw on your arms?" he asked Harry loudly and curiously, gazing in slight awe at his muscular tatted arms. I chuckled softly at Harry's annoyed facial expression. I could tell he wasn't a big fan of kids.

"I didn't draw on them," he grumbled, trying not to snap at the child. The kid got up onto the chair next to Harry, who was watching the little one curiously as he kneeled on the chair. He reached out and poked Harry's eyebrow piercing, causing him to giggle slightly.

"What's that?" he asked, continuing to probe at the metallic balls on his eyebrow. My hand rose up to stifle my laughter as I watched Harry shift uncomfortably, unsure of how to act.

"It's a piercing," Harry answered gruffly, grabbing the little one's wrist gently before moving it away. "Now beat it, kid," Harry snapped all of a sudden, causing the kid to frown upsettingly.

"Harry!" I scolded, frowning at him and his harsh tone before turning to the kid. "What's your name, sweetie?" I asked with a small smile.

   "Luca. Yours?"

"Scarlett, and this is Harry," I gestured at Harry, whose face held a sour expression.

"Is Harry your boyfriend?" Luca asked me all of a sudden, his cocoa-brown eyes staring up at my flushed face in curiosity.

"No," I answered with a short awkward laugh, trying not to look at Harry as I spoke. "We're just...friends." Harry snorted at that.

"Okayyyyyy," Luca dragged the word, gazing at us skeptically.

"Where's your mom, Luca?" I asked him, wondering why he was wondering around here alone.

"She's in heaven" he simply replied, making my eyes widen slightly. Poor kid. "But sometimes she likes to come visit me in my dreams," he said cheerfully, making me smile at him sadly.

"That's nice," I said weakly, hearing Harry snort once again. I glared at him, elbowing him in the ribs, making him scowl at me nastily before shoving my shoulder.

"Mi madre said it's not nice to hit people," Luca scolded Harry, frowning at him while Harry cocked an eyebrow at the child.

   "Who cares? Your madre's dea-"

"Harry!" I hissed at him, knotting my brows over my eyes tightly. "He's just a kid!" I chided, making Harry laugh all of a sudden.

"So?" he asked, clearly amused by all of this. I rolled my eyes and parted to speak before a loud voice seized my attention.

"Luca! There you are! I've been looking all over for you!" A tall man approached us quickly, grasping Luca's hand in his large ones before he gave us an apologetic look. "I'm sorry if my son's been bothering you," he told us sincerely and I simply smiled back.

"It's alright. He's very sweet," I said with a small grin. "It was nice meeting you, Luca."

"Bye Scarlett!" he waved at me enthusiastically as he walked towards the exit with his father. "And the dude with drawings on his arms!" he yelled quickly before he disappeared, making me laugh softly.

"I take it you love kids," Harry's deep voice gained my attention. I turned to look at him, noticing a curious expression on his perfect features.

"They're precious. I want to have kids one day," I said with a smile, fantasizing like I always did when I was younger about getting married and having a beautiful wedding, and of course, having a family.

"They're annoying as fuck," Harry disagreed.

"You were a kid too at some point," I narrowed my eyes at him slightly.

"Yeah but at least I wasn't useless. I knew how to use a gun and I was a black-belt in karate," he defended himself, making me roll my eyes at him.

"You had a sucky childhood," I told him seriously.

"It's not like I wanted to have one like that," he said lowly, I could almost hear the sadness in his voice. Almost. "I was forced into this lifestyle, Scar. I didn't want any of this," he told me as my heart ached for him in a pitiful way. I didn't expect him to react like that, I expected him to snap back with his usual snarky comments, but he didn't.

"Who forced you to do it then?" I asked him softly, placing my hand on top of his in a comforting way. I tried to ignore the pang of hurt I felt when he pulled his hand away, clearly uneasy with public affection.

"I can't tell you," he mumbled, averting his gaze.

"Can't to or don't want to?" I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Don't want to," he answered, tugging his lip ring with his fingers, an action he did when he was feeling uneasy.

"Okay" I responded, accepting that he wasn't uncomfortable with sharing his personal information with me. He looked slightly surprised that I didn't push more and demand for him to tell me, since I had already told him a lot of my life.

Our conversation couldn't proceed any further as the receptionist called out my name. The appointment went well, I explained to David about my nightmares and he gave me some advice on how to deal with it and also prescribed some medicine if his advice didn't work. Harry assured me that David was one of the best and his advice usually worked and I trusted his words for it.

"I'm hungry," I told Harry as we exited the building and walked down the streets. "Let's have lunch somewhere," I suggested. We hunted around for a place that we both liked, which was pretty much impossible because everything I liked was fast food and unhealthy, whereas Harry was a more healthy eater.

"In-N-Out Burger!" I exclaimed, pointing at the familiar restaurant across the street. "Can we please go there?" I begged, tugging his arm in a childish manner. He frowned at me and shook his head, yanking his arm out of my grip as I continued walking. "Please, Harry!" I grasped his arm again, refusing to let go as he tugged harshly.

"Scarlett, let go," he growled in annoyance, pulling hardly but the grip I had on him was too strong, weirdly enough.

He started walking, attempting to drag me along with him, but I dug my heels into the ground in an attempt to stay still. He turned around, his features showing pure irritation as he groaned and jerked his arm. This time he managed to haul me forward, making me stumble quickly and collide with his hard chest painfully.

"What even are your abs made off? Titanium?" I groaned in slight pain, placing a hand on his chest to move myself away from him. My chest had crashed into his own hard enough for it to actually hurt.

"I'll take that as a compliment," he simply responded. "Now come on, I know a good sushi place," he told me, grasping my wrist and tugging me along with him.

"No I hate sushi! It tastes disgusting," I grimaced, while he snorted.

"You taste disgusting," he retorted, making my jaw drop.

"You haven't even tasted me!" I gasped.

"I don't mind trying," he winked cheekily, his plump lips curling up into a suggestive smirk. I glared at him, before sighing.

"Please can we go to In-N-Out? Can't you just have a cheat day?" I pleaded gently, pouting my lips as I stared up at him with my big brown eyes. Nobody could resist my puppy dogface. He stared at me hard, contemplating intently before he nodded slightly, making me grin ecstatically. "Yay!" I cheered.

We entered the slightly crowded restaurant, locating an empty booth within minutes and heading over to it quickly before anyone else could. Harry left me halfway to go order food, I told him what I specifically wanted, but I had the feeling he wasn't listening and was just going to order the first thing he saw. I sat and waited patiently in the booth, smiling faintly to myself as I reminisced the many times Spencer and I came to In-N-Out in Vegas.

"People are so fucking nosy these days," I heard Harry grumble as he approached our booth with a tray full of food and drinks in his arms.

"What happened?" I laughed lightly as he sat down opposite me. I was surprised to see he had also bought a milkshake, which he handed to me as soon as my eyes landed on it. I thanked him with a small smile before gesturing for him to continue talking.

"The dude with acne asked me if I was having a good day," he said with tightly knit brows.

"Seriously, Harry?" I laughed, popping some fries into my open mouth.

"Yes. Like why the fuck do they care?" he frowned as if it really baffled him.

"Some people are genuinely nice like that," I explained with an amused smile, shaking my head at his outburst over something so small and ridiculous.

"But they don't even know me."

"Can't argue with that, but there's no harm in being nice to random people," I argued, before taking a bite of my burger. The conversation topic drifted away from being nice to various things. I was the one who was asking questions most of the time, mostly because I was trying to get to know Harry. Sometimes he'd answer vaguely, other times he just wouldn't answer at all and would just change the subject.

"This shit's good," he groaned, taking another bite of his burger.

"Have you never been to In-N-Out?" I asked him as I sipped on my milkshake. I was stuffed and was currently attempting to finish off my chocolate milkshake while Harry finished off his hamburger.

"I have, but it's been a while," he explained, and I nodded.

"Why are you even on a diet? Your body looks fine," I exclaimed suddenly, though my cheeks flushed slightly when he smirked at me.

"You think my body looks fine?" It looked more than fine, to be honest.

   "I suppose," I shrugged. "You're fit, that's all I'm trying to say."

"It's not exactly a diet. It's just healthy eating," he told me, once he had finished off his burger and was now sipping on his coke.

"I guess that's good. But it won't hurt if you have some junk food once- holy fuck!" I yelped, jumping to the other side of the booth so I was hidden.

"What's wrong?" he asked, his brows lowering as he gazed at me curiously.

"I know that guy," I muttered, moving slightly as I kept my head down hoping the man who just walked in, wouldn't notice me.

   "Who?"

"The guy who just walked in with his gang of idiots. The one with the leather jacket," I told him quietly, taking a sneaky glance at my ex before widening my eyes. He had gotten even hotter than the last time I saw him, too bad he was an asshole.

"What's his name?" Harry asked, after he took a glance at the jackass who was now ordering.

"Zayn Malik," I spat the name out, my features hardening when all the memories of us together flashed before my eyes.

"Sounds like he did something bad," Harry chuckled, noticing my raging expression. "What did he do?" he asked me curiously.

"He cheated on me during the course of our relationship," I explained, making Harry's eyebrows shoot up a little. "Nine times," I added.

"Damn," Harry breathed, offering me no sympathy, not that I wanted any. "Well, who cares about him? He's clearly a prick, and you deserve better." It was almost like he forced himself to say those words, Harry cringing as I grinned broadly at him. It literally killed him to say something nice like that.

"Harold, you're being nice," I observed, faking a dramatic expression with my eyes wide and mouth forming an 'O'.

He rolled his eyes at me, shaking his head slightly. We decided to leave right then, since we were already finished with our food. I had to literally pray for Zayn not to notice us, but sadly it didn't work.

"Scarlett?" A familiar accented voice spoke up, making my blood freeze.

"Zayn?" I responded weakly, spinning around and gazing at him, who was stood behind me with a cocky grin on his face. Man, did I want to punch him.

"It's been a while hasn't it?" Zayn chuckled lowly, his hand rubbing his jaw as his caramel eyes slowly studied my figure. "Visiting Vegas with Spencer? Or are you actually living here?" he questioned, as I felt my heart drop. I didn't know how to answer that.

"We're visiting Vegas," Harry answered for me, making my head snap in the direction Harry stood.

His large hand was placed on my lower back as he stood close to me. I watched him as his pale jade eyes were slightly narrowed at Zayn, lips pressing into a thin line and jaw clenching. My eyes snapped to Zayn, noticing how his expression had become considerably harder now, not that it was soft in the first place. His eyes noticed how Harry's hand was on my lower back, the sight of it making his eyes glare at Harry.

"And who exactly are you?" Zayn questioned suddenly, his tone holding slight anger. Zayn always had some slight anger problems, somewhat like Harry but not as much. He'd always get mad whenever I spoke to anyone from the opposite gender of me, except for Spencer. Harry didn't answer his question. As childish as it sounded, I wish he could've lied that he was my boyfriend just so Zayn could leave us alone.

"Aw is he your new boyfriend, Scarlett?" Zayn asked in a mocking tone, a smirk spreading on his lips as I narrowed my eyes at him.

"That doesn't matter to you so just fuck off," I spat at him, deciding to drop the whole act.

"You were always so feisty," Zayn snickered, licking his lips. "It always turned me on," he murmured lowly, his burning gaze raking down my body as his teeth tugged his bottom lip.

All of a sudden, Harry dove forward and delivered a punch to Zayn's jaw. Zayn's head snapped to the side, due to the force of the punch. I immediately reacted by tugging Harry away from him, standing in front of him as Zayn rubbed his jaw, groaning in slight pain. All pairs of eyes in the restaurant were staring at us right now, watching us in curiosity as Zayn snarled.

"What the fuck was that for?" he yelled, anger clearly evident in his loud tone. I had to literally hold Harry back from charging towards Zayn again.

"Don't you fucking talk about my girl like that! Don't you even fucking look at her, you worthless piece of shit!" Harry shouted back, pale jade eyes glaring furiously at him, as I tried to ignore my heart soaring at what he just called me.

"Harry, just ignore him," I whispered firmly, placing a hand on his chest to push him back. But it was hard as Zayn kept constantly taunting and teasing Harry. My blood boiled in my veins when I heard him say something about me before he tried to leave.

"Good luck with her, she sucks in bed," Zayn snickered and I literally snapped.

I spun around, glaring furiously at him as I stormed over to him. He looked the least bit unfazed by my sudden movement but that was going to change. My fist flew up, striking him straight in the nose, making him yelp in surprise and pain. He stumbled back blindly, his hand clutching his nose. He just happened to be right in front of the double doors that led to the kitchen, which flew open suddenly when a waiter with milkshakes walked through them, straight into Zayn. Both of them collided against each other. The milkshakes fell from the tray, the contents of the glasses spilling all over Zayn's beautiful hair and face. He literally yelled in shock and annoyance with a hint of anger as the pink ice cream dripped all over his chiseled face, dribbling onto his black t-shirt.

I watched in amusement and satisfaction as people laughed a little at the funny scene. Normally something like this would make me pity the person greatly, but that person happened to Zayn in this situation, and in that case I didn't feel any pity for him. I turned to look at Harry who was watching Zayn struggle with an amused smirk.

Once his eyes met mine, his lips curved into a proper grin, one that bared his teeth. I was somewhat shocked to see a cute dimple pop out on his left cheek, making the smile look adorable. His genuine smile always had me stunned for some reason. It was just such a beautiful smile. The way his plump lips would stretch and bare his perfectly aligned teeth, causing crinkles to appear near his gorgeous eyes and a dimple to pop out on his left cheek. It was crazy how his smile turned him from someone menacing to someone you wished you knew. I didn't know what it was, but something about his smile caused butterflies to erupt in my stomach, making my own lips automatically curve into a similar one.

His eyes were glinting with pride as he ticked his head towards the exit, indicating that we leave this place. I nodded with a shy smile, moving to walk with him and we left the place. We walked down the streets in silence, too busy wrapped up in our own thoughts to make conversation.

I was caught completely off-guard when he dragged me into an alleyway and pressed his lips against mine. My body reacted instantly encircling my arms around his lean waist, my chest pressing against his as he held my face firmly in his palms and kissed the daylights out of me. He deepened the kiss all of a sudden, sliding his tongue over mine repeatedly as I moaned into the kiss. When we pulled away, we were breathless, eyes bright and alert, lips slightly swollen and moist.

Him kissing me off-guard was honestly one of the best things I had ever experienced. It always had me breathless and yearning for more. I was afraid I was growing more and more attached to his kisses, his touch and his rough/gentle personality. I could only hope he doesn't do something in the future to change that.
