S C A R L E T T 💣

The place was enormous, and it gave off an intimidating aura. Grey floors and walls covered the entire place while white lights illuminated it. There were people spread out in various parts of the room, some of them were huddled in groups chatting and laughing. As soon as I stepped into the room, everyone went quiet. They all watched me like hawks, silently whispering to one another while I tried to find my way through the training room. The underground gymnasium was filled with training stations and obstacle courses, where people could choose their preferred activity.

Most of the stations had people hovering around them, so I decided to go to the one with the least amount of people around it. The archery station. Fortunately for me, I was familiar with the sport already. Although, it had been ages since I had last done archery, and honestly I used to be pretty good.

My father sent me for classes when I was younger, I started learning when I was about 13 but then after 6 years or so I stopped doing it completely. I always had a special skill in archery, my father told me my mother did archery before she died; and she was very skilled as well. I felt that I had more important things to do such as college work and etc. so I didn't have any time to focus on archery.

My fingers danced over the cool metal of the arrows that were neatly placed on the table, while I gazed at the different types of bows there were. Deciding to pick up a silver metal recurve bow, I picked it up gently weighing it with my hand to see if it was right for me. It was reinforced with other materials, such as plastic or metal I'm guessing. It was probably to add to the strength of the bow and make the limbs of it more durable. I picked up one arrow, twirling it around my fingers, a habit of mine ever since I was little.

Walking up to the side of the table, I walked up to the different targets that were set up and stood in front of one. It was a silhouette of a man with the circles and dots indicating where you should shoot and where you've shot. Standing sideways with my feet just shoulder length apart, I placed the bow in the right position on the bow before curling my fingers around the string and drawing it back steadily. The ends of the arrow poked my cheek as I focused my gaze on the target, aligning the arrow with it.

A deep breath drew through my parted lips as I cleared my mind of everything I've been feeling and thinking for the past hours and days. After about 30 seconds I let the string fall out of my fingers and in top speed the arrow pierced the air and landed straight on the middle of the target. Bullseye.

My lips curved upwards in a happy grin as I lowered my bow for a second. With my smile still intact, I turned around and headed over to the table to get another arrow when I noticed how everybody was staring at me in awe. My brows furrowed slightly as I looked away uncomfortably and picked up another arrow before somebody spoke up.

"Shit Lettie that was bloody amazing! I didn't know you could shoot!" An excited Dexter ran up to me, smiling at me widely while I couldn't help but smile back.

I didn't see what the big deal was to be honest. There were probably loads of other people here who could shoot faster and a hundred times better than me, they are after all; trained assassins.

"Nobody here can shoot like that Lettie. That's why the archery station is rarely used," he explained to me, gazing at the target where I had recently shot the arrow. Now that I thought about it, the bows and arrows were covered in a thin sheet of dust.

"If nobody uses it then why did they make it in the first place?" I asked, cocking an eyebrow at him. Louis appeared behind Dexter, complimenting me on my shot. I thanked him before turning to Dexter, expecting an answer to my question.

"There were a couple of people who used to use it, but they all died on missions. Archery isn't really the best form of weapon to use on some missions," he frowned to himself, as if he were remembering the people who use to be alive.

"Oh," was all I said before I set the bow down, spotting Blaze approaching us out of the corner of my eye. Just as Blaze reached us, Harry's loud voice boomed from the entrance.

"Alright everyone, you know what you need to work on. Stop wasting time and get on with it. I'll be coming around to check up on you, make sure you're not slacking off," Harry spoke in a loud and confident voice, walking up to the middle of the room as all eyes followed his figure.

"Blake!" he snapped angrily at one guy who looked like he was around my age, who was chatting to a blonde girl while Harry was talking. He was tall and attractive, with chiseled features, dark cropped hair and baby blue eyes,

"Yes Shit Styles?" he asked coolly, his lips pulling into a cocky smile.

A couple of people snickered at the nickname. Although, their laughing ceased for a second when an angry Harry stormed over to Blake and swung his fist at him, connecting with Blake's nose heavily. He stumbled back in shock and fell to the floor, the people around him scrambled away as Harry shot them death glares before focusing his heavy gaze on Blake.

"What did you call me?" he towered over Blake who was on the floor now, clutching his bleeding nose while he stared up with frightened eyes. I could tell he was trying his best to look unfazed and confident, but it was failing miserably. "Answer me," Harry snarled, pulling his gun out; causing my eyes to widen.

"I'm sorry it was just a joke, I didn't mean it," Blake started to ramble, before Harry bent down in front of him; now pointing the gun directly at his forehead.

"Wrong answer," Harry spoke brusquely before shifting his gun quickly to Blake's leg.

A loud bang erupted through the air, with a loud cry of agony following right after. Blake clutched his injured leg, which was bleeding heavily now, due to the bullet wound. I glanced at Dexter and Louis, who both had somber looks on their face.

"I'm going to ask you one more time, what did you call me? Or else" Harry spoke in a quiet voice, dripping with venom as he cocked his gun towards Blake's crotch now.

His sky blue eyes widened as he began to sputter out words of regret. Harry literally growled before standing up and raising his foot, only to bring it down onto the bullet wound. Blake howled in pain, as Harry asked him the question one more time. I started moving towards Harry, deciding that I wasn't just going to stand there and let this happen. This was utter madness.

Before I could do so, Dexter tugged me back by gripping my arm. He shot me a warning look before he turned his eyes back to Harry and Blake.

"All you gotta do is answer the question Blake, then maybe I'll let you go to the hospital wing," Harry spoke, as Blake whimpered clutching his bleeding throbbing thigh, staring up at Harry with fearful eyes. "This is the last time I'm going to ask you, what did you call me?"

"Shit Styles," Blake mumbled under his breath, averting his gaze from Harry's intense one, as Harry bent down in front of him.

Harry brought his hand with the gun up instantly, before ramming it down hard onto the bullet wound. A shout of surprise and pain escaped from Blake's mouth, as soon as the gun made contact with his wound. Harry stood back up again, pulling a cloth out of his pocket to wipe the blood off the gun.

"The next time you call me that, you're dead meat," Harry snarled at Blake while he frantically nodded. "Now get out of my sight, before I change my mind about letting you off the hook," Harry spat before looking up at everyone and shouting again. "What're you all staring at? Get going before heads start to roll," he yelled at everyone, snapping them out of the trance they were in.

Everybody started moving to their favored stations while my eyes stayed stuck on Harry who was barking at people, telling them to get on with their training. My eyes flitted to Blake who was struggling to get up; every time he tried to push himself up he'd wince in intense pain and fall back down. This was horrible, why wasn't anyone helping him? I looked to where he was staring earlier with his friends, who were all chucking knives at targets, not giving two shits about their injured friend.

I moved forward, I realized Dexter still had his grip on me and I tugged my arm to make him let me go. He looked at me with a frown on his face. "What're you doing now?" he asked in confusion.

"We need to help him," I gestured to Blake who was still trying hard to stand. "He's going to bleed to death if he doesn't get to the hospital wing quickly," I said impatiently, glancing at Blake.

"Are you crazy? Harry is punishing him for being stupid. He deserves to be punished," Dexter said firmly making me gape at him. I may have not known Blake well enough, but I did know that nobody deserved to be punished and tortured like that for something as stupid and little as name-calling.

"I'm not going to let him sit there and bleed to death!" I snapped at him, making his eyes widen in surprise at my sudden outburst.

I jerked my arm out of his grasp, and quickly made my way towards Blake, glancing around for Harry just in case he was around. He was showing somebody how to do an uppercut. Good, he was distracted. I was nearing Blake now, who was sitting on the floor still clutching his leg while his face contorted in pain. I touched his shoulder gently, he immediately flinched at the contact; snapping his head to face me with tightly pulled eyebrows and hard eyes. Everybody was so guarded here.

"Let me help you," I murmured lowly, his features softened a bit; but still held some hardness like he was unsure of what to think of me.

He moved away a bit, huffing and ignoring me as he tried to get up again. He almost actually got up, but as soon as he put weight on his injured leg; he fell back down again.

I sighed loudly before speaking again, "look you're gonna bleed to death if you keep doing this, so stop thinking about your ego and just let me help you," I stood up, standing in front of him as I held my hand out for him to hold.

"Fine," he grunted, obviously not pleased about the fact that he needed help to get up.

He gripped my hand tightly, using his good leg and other hand to push himself up, I pulled him up and he successfully managed to get up, balancing on one foot. I slung an arm around his waist as he wrapped his one around my shoulder, leaning his weight onto me.

"Let's get out of here before Harry sees us," he muttered as he started hopping while I guided him towards the entrance. My spun my head around to double-check whether Harry had seen us yet, he hadn't so we kept moving.

"How far is the hospital wing from here?" I asked, knowing that this place was weirdly huge despite that it was all built underground.

"It's close by," Blake groaned, limping by my side as he told me where to go.

We quickly but carefully as he kept wincing every time he'd accidentally put weight on his wounded leg, causing his knees to buckle a couple of times; almost dragging me down with him.

"What's your name?" he asked while I looked around for the hospital wing. I spotted a sign at the end of the hallway we were in, indicating that the hospital was towards the left.

"Scarlett," I huffed, dragging him along as quickly as I could.

I was somewhat surprised and disgusted with how nobody bothered to help Blake, well, more disgusted and angry than surprised. As I was aiding Blake we passed many people who didn't even give us a glance.

"Pretty name," he commented, grinning softly at me. I couldn't help but be a bit surprised.

My lips quirked up in a quick smile before I pushed the double-doors of the hospital wing open, immediately greeted with nurses rushing towards us. Someone instantly brought a hospital bed on wheels to us, a doctor hurrying along with it before he helped Blake onto the bed. I started to move away from them before Blake grabbed my arm. I looked at him with confused eyes as he smiled at me, an appreciative smile.

"Thank you," was all he said, before they pushed the bed along the white corridors while I stood there, sort of baffled by what he just said.

A contended sigh pushed past my lips as I turned around and headed back towards the door. I glanced at the clock, which read 8:15. Oh shit. I immediately started sprinting, dodging past people who were walking through the corridors, muttering apologies to anyone I accidentally shoved before finally making it to the training room. When I saw Vlad in the room, my heart dropped. He was definitely not in a happy mood by the looks of it. I wonder if he was going to do something similar to what Harry did to Blake, to me.

I slowly made my way towards Blaze who was standing with him. Their cold hard eyes focused on me immediately as I walked towards them, keeping my gaze averted to the floor.

"You're late," he spoke abruptly, with a hint of anger in his voice. I nodded; still looking at the ground before moving my eyes to lock them with Vlad's hard brown ones.

"Yes I know, but it's be-" I began before I was sharply cut off by the feeling of Blaze's fist come in contact with my face.

Stars bursted into my vision as I fell back in shock, my butt hitting the floor with a soft thud. What the fuck was that for? I wanted to scream at her but I bit my mouth and kept my mouth shut, rubbing my jaw gently as I glared at her.

"You were supposed to be here by 7:59," Vlad spoke slowly his in raspy voice, putting his hands on his hips.

"The time is 8:18," he said, checking his wristwatch before folding his bulky arms over his chest. His expression was difficult to decipher, I knew he was angry as I detected the hint of irritation and crossness in his tone, but his face remained emotionless.

"Yes I know," I sighed harshly, dropping my hand, which was on my face before standing up.

I noticed how everybody in the room was staring at us right now, and it seriously annoyed me. Don't they have training to do?  I suppose Blaze punching me was an interesting scene to watch.

"And I'm sorry but I had a reason," I continued, worried that he would react horribly and hit me instead of Blaze this time.

"I don't give two flying fucks about your reasons. You are late and you have to suffer the consequences," he snapped at me all of a sudden, making me flinch. Well shit.

"What consequences?" I whispered, suddenly feeling really afraid of what he'd do to me.

Will he shoot me in the leg just like how Harry had shot Blake? Maybe he'll do something similar. Blaze smiled wickedly at me while I forced myself to hold my gaze with Vlad. He stared back at me long and hard as he thought of a suitable and probably barbaric punishment for me.

He let out a loud sigh before he said, "You'll be training for the whole day. You finish at 8:00 PM." That didn't too bad I supposed.

"What? Vlad!" Blaze exclaimed, looking at him in annoyance.

Vlad snapped his neck to face her, sending her a warning glare while she huffed and looked away. Vlad nodded at me curtly, before walking away and leaving the training room.

"I'm going make this hell for you," Blaze glowered at me before walking off to the side of the room where the knife targets were.

I sighed deeply, before slowly following her. I spotted Dexter and Louis, smiling at me reassuringly while shooting me thumbs up. I forced a smile before my gaze landed on a certain curly-haired man. Harry's piercing green eyes met my big brown ones as his lips grew into a smirk. He held our gaze as he soon started chuckling to himself slowly. Why is he laughing?

"Lil' Bitch!" Blaze shouted from the corner of the room. I looked away from Harry and saw Blaze standing in the corner of the room, next to a large door that led to another room.

"You ready?" she asked me with a devious smirk on her face. I gulped and nodded, before she opened the door revealing the other side.
