Lucy's (POV)

I started to see light and the color pink. I reached out to touch the familiar color.

The light began to dim and everything became clearer. I was in a bed with white covers.

I looked to my left and saw a man there he had tears in his eyes. His hair was bright pink and he wore an odd scarf around his neck.

"What were you thinking?" He cried.

"Excuse me?" I asked confused.

"Why Luce? How could you do this to yourself?" He asked.

Who is Luce? Does he mean me? That's not my name my name is... I don't know my name. Is my name Luce?

What does he mean though? What did I do?

I looked at him one last time and then I took in my surroundings. I saw that I was in a hospital I had bandages on my arms.

I did this?

"Who are you?"

With that question a look of hurt took over his face.

"Luce, it's me it's Natsu." He replied hugging me gently.

Natsu...

"Doesn't ring a bell. N-natsu how do you know me?"

"We... we are... I..." he had troubles saying what he wanted to say.

"Are we lovers?" I asked.

A look of surprise came across his face.

"In some sense... Maybe." He answered.

"Well... What ever that means... I'm so hungry. What do you say to taking me out somewhere to eat?"

"But you're injured." He spoke.

"You look strong... Just carry me."

He looked at me and nodded. He lifted the covers and he hooked and arm under my knees while the other held my back.

He opened the window and jumped out of it landing perfectly on his feet.

He walked down some alleyways avoiding the public. We made it to what looks like a forest.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked.

"I'm taking you home." He answered.

It wasn't long before we were entering a nice and homey cabin. The wood work was beautiful.

The kitchen was a mess but the rest of the house was pretty much clean.

"Sorry for the mess... it's been a while." He said.

He laid me down on the couch and he stood up.

"I know I'm not a four star chef but... I make a mean sandwich. You intrested?" He asked.

"Very!"

"Would you maybe like to sit at the counter? You could ask me questions?"

I nodded my head and he picked me up and carried me over to the counter. He sat me on the counter and he smiled.

"Ask away?" He said opening the fridge.

Natsu's (POV)

I started gathering materials for our sandwiches.

"What is your name?" She asked.

"My name is Natsu Dragneel." I said starting to make the sandwiches.

"Dragneel what a cool name. What is my name?"

"Lucy Ashley Heartfilia."

"So we aren't married?"

"No, not yet."

"Hmmm. How long have we known each other?" She asked.

"This July will make it 9 years."

"Wow... How long have we been together together?" she asked.

How do I tell her that we weren't actually together... Ever.

"Luce... We..."

"Is that your pet name for me? It's cute." She smiled.

"Uh..." I just finished up my sandwich and washed my hands.

"I'm sorry I interrupted you. You were saying..."

*knock knock*

'Thank god!'

"Natsu... It's me Happy!" A voice sang. "You know your best friend that you left behind!" He screamed.

"Who is that?" Lucy's head darted towards the door.

The door swung open and in entered a very unhappy Happy.

"Hey why didn't you ans... Lucy??? LUSHEE!!!" Happy flew swiftly to Lucy and hugged her tightly.

"It's a cat! And it talks!" Lucy jumped.

Happy let go of Lucy and he looked at me.

"She doesn't remember?" He asked.

I shook my head and sighed. "Care for a sandwich, Happy?"

Happy puffed his cheeks. "If it's from you no thank you!"

"Hey, you should be nicer!" Lucy scolded.

Happy cowered behind me.

"I didn't mean to yell but it isn't nice to speak rude to someone who offered you something! You either say thank you or no thank, you got it!" She shouted.

"She seems normal." Happy commented.

"Natsu do you know this cat? Is he your pet?" Lucy asked.

"He's not my pet he's my pet... I mean friend. He's my friend since he was born. It's a long story." I stuttered.

"Oh so I'm a pet now!" Happy shrieked.

"No! I just tripped up on my words."

"Sure... Whatever!" Happy cried and left just as quick as he came.

"So he's a friend?" She asked.

"Like I said it's hard to explain."

"Um Natsu... Can I have my sandwich please?" Lucy begged.

"Oh, right... Here." I placed the plate with the sandwiches infront of her.

"You aren't hungry?" She asked.

"Not really."

"Thank you Natsu. So you didn't get to finish before your friend came in." She said before taking a bite.

'Crap! She remembered!'

"Listen Luce, when I said... I meant that we... There's no good way to say it." I fumbled on my words.

"You mean we aren't lovers?" She asked putting down her sandwich.

I shook my head and sighed. She looked up at me and rolled her eyes.

"So you were lying?" She asked.

Her words pierced my heart.

"Well I..."

"What you thought that because I can't remember anything that you could take advantage of that!" She spoke with a strained voice.

"No I just... Things between us weren't so hot when I left."

"Wait what?"

"Three months ago I snapped and I left. But I regret that. I hate myself that I left and now... Now you..."

"So what exactly am I to you?" She asked straight forward.

"You want an honest answer?"

Lucy nodded.

"You are everything to me."

"Natsu..." Lucy reached out and cupped my cheeks.

I looked deeply into the familar pools of honey and chocolate. They sparkled just like they did many times before.

Tears began to well up in them and that worried me.

"Luce what's wrong?"

"I don't know what happened but... I remember. Natsu... You're alive... Natsu." Lucy tried to stand but her legs were to weak.

I caught her just before she could fall.

"Don't worry I got hmmmpf..."

Lucy slammed her lips onto mine and pulled my face as close as she could to hers. She cupped my cheeks and she cried more in the kiss. She pulled away still weeping.

"Hey, why are you crying?" I asked tucking some hair behind her ear.

"Natsu... I'm sorry. I never knew. I didn't... Please, forgive me." She cried.

"Forgive what?"

"How could I be so cruel?" She asked herself.

"Natsu... I love you. I love you so much it hurts."

"Lucy... I'm sorry that it hurts. That's my fault. But from now on... I will try my best to make everything better."

I held her tight in my arms.

"Natsu... I'm getting sleepy... I..." Lucy drifted off.

I forgot that she's still affected by that medication they gave her at the hospital.

I hooked my arm under her knees and carried her to my room. I laid her down and pulled the covers over her.

Just as I walked away she caught my wrist.

"Please don't leave me." She said her eyes barely open.

"Never again."

I crawled under the covers and Lucy cuddled up against my chest. I kissed her forehead and sighed.

"I love you Natsu." She said sleepily.

"I... I love you too, Luce."

'Holy crap I did it!'

My eyelids soon became heavy and I fell asleep as well. Holding the one thing I hold dear in this world.
