Lafayette woke up groggily, trying to cuddle back into Hercules and fall back asleep, but then realized it was Monday, and his lovely boyfriend had gone back to his own house. Groaning softly, Lafayette threw the blankets off himself and stood up slowly. He check his phone, then realized he still had 10 minutes before he had to wake up. Lafayette groaned again, he probably wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. 

He checked through the messages on the group chat. 

ham: oh hey john btw we have a kid now

laurena: alex wtf it's 2 am go back to sleep

liz: what is going on

ham: so um theres a new family next to us and they have a son named philip and he looks remarkably like john,,,

ham: so he's my son now basically

ham: he actually really likes me

laurena: alexandet oh my gof

liz: aWWW

Lafayette chuckled a bit at his friend then threw his phone on his bed. He started his morning routine for school, and finished in 20 minutes. It didn't take long for Lafayette to take care of his hair, and it surprised him a bit.

He started on his walk to school with Peggy and John. But he noticed something different about Peggy. She was all smiley and bubbly like she usually was, but it didn't seem genuine. Lafayette didn't want to call her out, so he'd ask her when they were alone.

liz: someone stole my helpless branding

madickson: who

liz: so like you know those brothers whose last names start with a m or something

madickson: oh yea the ones that make all the music and stuff

liz: mhm

liz: so I guess they saw the song I made about how helpless maria makes me feel

liz: because I just saw a video that was posted a day after my song was posted

liz: where they say helpless twice

liz: I'm finna drag somebody's ass

madickson: smh

largest baguette: shouldn't y'all be getting ready for school

liz: I'm already at school *awkward finger guns*

madickson: ha hey I'm sick *finger guns back*

jeffershit: you're always sick tf

Lafayette rolled his eyes and slipped his phone into his pocket, engaging in Peggy and John's conversation as they saw the school roll into view. John spotted Alexander climbing out of his car, smiling and excusing himself from the little group. He made his way to his boyfriend with excitement, pecking him on the cheek when he reached him. 

Lafayette took this chance to ask Peggy if she was okay. 

"Hey, Peggy, you look, out of it? Are you okay?" He asked, placing a soft hand on her shoulder. The girl looked back at him and smiled weakly, then burst into tears. "Peggy, it's okay, what's wrong?"

Peggy dropped her bag and wrapped her arms around Lafayette's middle, stuffing her face in his chest. Lafayette just stroked her hair and wrapped a loose arm around her back. After a few minutes, Peggy picked her head up but clung to his chest. 

"What is it?"

"I- I love her, Laf. And sh-she was taken a-away, like everything and everyone else!" Peggy sobbed. "Who?" Lafayette's features scrunched up slightly in confusion. "M-Maria!" Peggy exclaimed, then buried her head back in Lafayette's chest. 

Lafayette just nodded, somewhat understanding what she felt. He hugged her and rubbed her back in an attempt to comfort her, and it worked, because a few minutes later Peggy was only letting out soft gasps and whimpers. And the tears finally dried up and stopped spilling once the bell rang. 

"Should we go?" Lafayette asked. Peggy nodded and picked her bag, and the both of hurried into the school to their class.
