we made it. we opened the door to our room and ,for the first time since we got here, took a look around the room. the first time we got here we walked in, put our bags down and left. the room was a creme color with white beds, curtains, and the bathroom was white as well. when you walk in it already in the bed room. there is a huge white king sized bed in the middle and one night stand on either side. there are small windows to the left of the bed.

on the right side there is a door. the door leads to the bathroom. in the bathroom everything is white except for the tile shower. there is a huge TV in front of the bed and lamps on the night stands. I walked to my bag and took out my pajamas. " I'll change in the bathroom " I said closing the door that now separated us.

I finished changing and turned of the lights and walked out. I wish I didn't. when I walk out Amaimon has his back to me in only his boxers. I blush and turn around embarrassed. but then something caught my eye. I turned back around. there are 4 long and huge scars on his back.

I walk up to him from behind and touch the scars mesmerized. he arched his back like the scars hurt. " What happened? " I asked worried. " What do you mean?" he asked emotionless.

" What are these scars? " I asked worried again. " that's what I got for protecting you " he said expressionless. " sorry " I said mad at myself. I've been able to fight my battles before, why am I so helpless now. oh wait, that was before I knew about all of this. I can fight humans, but supernatural beings are beyond my strength.

" it's okay, I jumped in front remember. I did this myself so don't go blaming yourself okay " he said as he put his hand in my cheek. I felt sparks from where he touched me and my heart beat increased. " but if I wasn't so weak this wouldn't have happened " I said looking away blushing.

" I chose to jump in front, if you were stronger and able to fight for yourself right now. well then, you wouldn't be the girl in front of me and I wouldn't have it any other way " he said smiling. " but if I'm not strong enough you could die and you promised. I have to get stronger because there is going to be a day were you can't be there " I said letting a tear roll down my cheek as I thought about if he was gone.

" don't you ever think I won't be there and  don't ever think I won't be at your side. I don't care what happens even if it leads me to death, I will protect you " he said looking into my eyes. I got caught in the gaze of his river blue eyes and didn't realize what was happening.

we were slowly inching closer to each other. our lips are centimetres apart. then he looked like he realized something and backed away. " I'm sorry " he said nervously rubbing the back of his neck. " sorry, let's go to bed " I said walking past him to my side of the bed.

Amaimon's POV : moments before

I turned around and took of my coat, tie, vest, gloves, shirt, boots, and pants. I heard something. it was a voice I've been hearing a lot lately. it sounds so familiar but I can't --. my thoughts were cut short when I realized who it was. it was him. the part of me I sealed away a long time ago.

I have to tell him to go away. I went into my thoughts and ended up in Korosuakuma' s room but it had a cage in the middle. in the cage was me with gold eyes. the me that I sealed away was my feelings. I had to stop feeling. feeling is a weakness. showing how you feel makes me vulnerable.

he sat there smiling. " aren't you going to say hi to me " he said still smiling. " get out of my head " I said to him. " Your being so mean to me " he said frowning. " I sealed you away a long time ago, what are you doing here " I said. how can he be here. he was sealed in my heart, he shouldn't be in my head. " I'm here to help you " he said smiling.

" I don't need your help " I said angry. it's one of the emotions I kept. " Yes, you do " he said taunting me. " What would I ever need your help with " I said my words dripping like venom.

he got up and turned serious " if you keep being like that your going to loose her " he said looking me in the eye. " loose who? What are you taking about? " I said confused. " Korosuakuma " the bastard said smirking. " Why would that matter to me? " I said. of course she matters.

she matters more than my own life and I don't know why. all he did was smirk, this bastard! " oh but she does, you can't explain the rapid heart beat, the fluttering in your stomach, or the sparks you get, but yet,without your emotions, you still feel something for her " he said smirking.

" how did you know about that? " I asked mad that he could know anything about me. " all I can say is, if you keep acting like you don't care and not realizing your feelings, your going to lose her " he said frowning.

I was about to ask but a small pain on my back. I came back to reality and arched my back away from the stinging feeling. " What happened " Korosuakuma asked worried. " What do you mean?" I asked not showing anything.

WHAT WAS THAT? WHAT AM I DOING? I can't believe what almost just happened. I can't add people to that list. the list other people know. the list of things people can take way from me. if she gets on that list, I don't know how long I can protect her until someone comes after her.

they can't defeat me, because I'm the demon king of earth, but her strength is in a power she can't tame. if she dies, I wouldn't see the point in living. I would roam Assiah and Gehena with nothing to do, never adding anyone to the list because it would be a reminder of the one I lost.

Keytas deserve to die for what they did to me. over the next few decades it was a Keyta free world. we eliminated our worst enemy and only competitors for our food.

the Keytas were gone, but the exorcist remained a problem. Dad is still thinking of a way to take care of them, but being with Korosuakuma doesn't make me seem to care about them. Korosuakuma is all that matters.

Korosuakuma POV :

Amaimon got into bed and I had no intention of going over there. I'm freezing over here, but if all he is, is in his boxers then I'm not going over there. sparks shot through as I felt Amaimon wrap his arms around me. he pulled me close and kept me there.

his warmth. I've described his warmth so many times and yet it is always the same warmth. the warmth that feels like the sun in a prison with no light. the warmth that keeps me alive in the black hole. I want to live in that warmth and for it to always exist.

my eyes were feeling heavy, but I wasn't tired. a sound made me shoot awake. it's as if it happened in slow motion. Amaimon put his mouth near my ear and whispered " I can't wait to see you in that bathing suit tomorrow."

I looked over my shoulder so I can see Amaimon. he is sitting up against the headboard of the bed with his gold eyes and a smirk on his face. " Why d-did you s-say th-that? " I said stuttering. " No reason, I just like to tease you " he said smirking.

I only had one question going through my head. it was embarrassing. I couldn't ask, I would die of embarrassment. I bit my lip as my blush came back. I pondered if I should ask him.

" if you have a question you can ask " he said smirking like he could read my mind. " a-are you s-sure?" I asked. " you could never embarrass me " he said. " is that a challenge? " I asked changing the topic.

" Yes it is " he said smiling. I crawled over to him as I got an idea. " What are you doing! " he said as I crawled onto his lap. " winning the challenge " I said smirking. I small blush ran across is face.

" I win " I giggled as I got off him. he started chuckling. " I guess I walked into that one " he said as I started chuckling with him. " wanna switch spots? " he asks. " Why " I asked. " it's warmer over here " he said. "sure, but you don't have to move too far. you can sit next to me " I said.

" so what did you what to ask me " he said smirking. " let me refrase, nothing you say could ever embarrass me " he said chuckling again. " Okay, but only because it's been bothering me " I said sighing. " if you can't do what Amaimon wouldn't want, then I'll never be fully mated to you " I said. he smirked and started laughing.

" what's so funny?" I asked confused. " even though it's true that I can't do anything he wouldn't want, you will end up being fully mated to us " he said smirking. " how, Amaimon isn't like that, he wouldn't fully mate with me, he isn't like that " I said refusing to believe Amaimon would do that. he is way too innocent, right?

" there are 3 main reasons he would do so. reason one would be he doesn't want any demons or supernatural creature to look at you because demon kings are very possessive. reason two would be that he wants to protect you. only idiots would take something claimed by a demon king. reason three would be demon heat. " he said devilishly smiling at the last part.

" b-b-but he wouldn't, right?" I said stuttering. " oh but he would " he said smirking. "wait, you said something about demon heat, what is that?" I said realizing I didn't really understand the last reason.

" demon heat is the state were a demon will want to be fully mated, it's unavoidable. you were supposed to be mated the first day you two met but his dad never explained mates to him. because he doesn't know you two are mates, demon heat can be present " he said shaking his head.

" Amaimon is strong, he can avoid it right " I said. " No, he will be able to hold off for a while but he will be fully mated to you whether you want to or not " he said smiling evily. " Why aren't the scars healed " I said wondering.

" I can't heal automatically " he said." did it hurt? " I asked a bit broken. " What hurt?" he asked confused. " when I touched them " I asked. " No " he said shaking his head.

" but you backed away from my hand " I said confused. " he backed away because he came back to reality and it scared him " he said explaining. " would it hurt if I touched it?" I asked wondering. " No, I would want you to keep your hand there " he stated laughing.

" well, I'm tired " I said yawning. " come on, this might be my last chance to fall asleep next to you with your permission " he said smiling. " I'm sure it won't " I laughed knowing this would probably end up happening later. " I know " he said pulling me into his chest.

I took a deep breath and fell asleep surrounded in his warmth.

I relaxed when I felt the water trickle down my face and back.

I walk on the sand. the burning sand warming my feet. I'm currently wearing a long green neon hoodie to cover my bathing suit. Kasai and Grimora ran into the ocean and started splashing each other already.

Caster joined them moments later in the water. me and Amaimon sat under the shade of a big umbrella on our towels. we watched as my siblings splashed each other, laughed, and smiled.

" Why don't you join them " Amaimon asked emotionless. " Why don't you " I asked reflecting the question back at him. he was wearing black and green swimming trunks. I ran a hand through my hair. " well all I ever had was Amethyst  and we never went to the beach " I said as I looked at my siblings and Grimora have fun.

Amaimon got up and extended his hand out to me. " I'll go in if you will " he said with an emotionless face. I sat there for a second and looked at his face. I slowly saw his emotionless expression falter as his lips twitched up. I took his hand and he pulled me up.

he walked hand in hand for a minute until I realized that I still had on my hoodie.

he looked at me and said something under his breath. I couldn't hear it though. our little world was interrupted by Kasai. " are you love birds gonna stand there or are you coming in " she taunted. heat rose to my cheeks. " it's not like that " I screamed.

" sure, now get in here " she said extending the sure. I dropped it. I know she is just joking. I walked into the water and jumped back a bit at the cold. I got used to it and walked to Okami. her hair was up in a pony tail and I saw something.

" Okami, what's that " I said trying to see it again. " oh, it's just my birth mark " she sighed. that's when I saw it. it looked just like Kasai's. " Why " she asked. " I know who your mate is " I screamed. " you do " she screamed louder than me.

after multiple attempts at explaining and practice, we finally got the hang of beach volleyball. Amaimon was on a team with Kasai and Grimora and I was on a team with Caster and Okami. Kasai was the one that suggested the teams and no one had a problem. Amaimon over shot giving my team a point.

" our point " I screamed. " I'll go get it " I said as I saw the ball roll behind some bushes and Palm trees. I did a slow jog to the place where the ball rested. I picked it up and out of reflex I turned around.

there was two guys behind me staring at me surprised. " um, hello " I said. they snapped out of their trance and smiled. " hello, what's your name " he said.

" I'm Korosuakuma " I said. " my name is Andrew and this is Caleb. well we came here from America and wanted to see the beach " he said. " cool, well I've lived here all my life and this is my first time at the beach too " I said.

" I never imagined such a pretty girl showing or having a tattoo " he said flirting. " it's not a tattoo, it's just a birth mark " I said turning around. " aren't you going to show us around? " Andrew stated with a devious smirk I didn't really like.

" No, I have family and friends to get back to " I said walking way. Andrew grabbed my arm. " how about you forget them for a while and hang with us " he said standing dangerously close.

" you can't make me " I said giving him the finger. I kicked him in the crotch and ran Caleb ran after me and tackled me. in seconds he was off me. I looked up at Amaimon.

he picked me up bridal style and looked at the terrified Caleb. " she's mine " he said emotionless. " is s-she your g-girlfriend " he stuttered. " No she will always mean more than that " he said turning around.
