People from the past

- The next day -

Serena: "Boy Serena you really can have the most random dreams. First the book then Soryu and the kiss...HAHA what a crazy dream!"

I laughed as I sat up on my bed and rubbed my eyes. I laugh a little while adjusting my body to the edge of my bed, slipping my feet into my slippers as I then look up at my drawer. My eyes widen as wide as can be while my jaw drops. I run over to the small box place on it and open it.

Serena: "WHAT!?"

I yelled as I walked back and forth with my fingers in my messy morning hair.

Serena: "It wasn't a dream...oh my god it was all real..."

I mumbled while slowly lowering my right hand to my face, sliding it to my mouth and biting my nails out of nervousness. I wasn't sure of what to do. I didn't know how to act around him now. HE KISSED ME! I KISSED BACK! WE KISSED!

(WHAT DO I DO KNOW!?)

What does that mean!? Were we a 'thing' again!? I mean I understand the whole story from his side and I believe him but... He kept secrets from me and... HE SHOT ME! But he did heal me... HE STILL SHOT ME!

I felt as if I had an angel and a devil on my shoulders each giving me reasons to be on their sides. My head ached as I place my hand on a wall near me for support. Suddenly a knock was heard from my room door.

Soryu: "Is everything okay?"

(GREAT TIMING!)

I yelled in my thoughts as I began to panic once again. I fix my nightgown and my hair before I open the door. Trying to act casual so he won't be suspicious, I place my elbow on the door frame and my hand holding my head, laying in a 'chill' position.

Serena: "Y-Yeah everything is alright!"

I say nervously with a huge grin. Soryu gives me his signature eyebrow raise in suspicion.

Soryu: "Are you sure?"

He asks me and I quickly try to reply to reassure him but I lose my balance before I could speak. My elbow slips away from the door frame causing my head to hit the hard wood.

Serena: "O-Ow.."

I groan while holding my forehead with my right hand. Soryu leans down a bit to meet my eyes with his so he could see if I was injured badly. That sight of him worrying about me...I loved it.

Soryu: "Serena..."

He says softly while replacing my hand with his. Soryu flashes a small, warm, smile at me which only makes me even more nervous. I could feel my face heat up, my heart race, my stomach dance. I froze as I stared back at him.

Soryu: "Are you sure everything's alright?"

Serena: "Y-Yeah!"

I slightly raise my voice trying to reassure him. I take a few steps back, ignoring the puzzled expression on his face. I fake a huge smile trying to hide how I feel as I wave him goodbye and quickly shut the door, locking it. Placing my back on the door I take various deep breaths trying to calm myself down.

Slowly taking a few steps forward, I try to take in everything that happened. My mind was a mess at this point. Not knowing what else to do I end up going to my bathroom and do my morning routine, trying to distract myself.

- 30 minutes later -

Serena: "Okay...one...two...three..."

I whisper to myself as I then quietly open my room door open. Peeking I check of Soryu was in the living room and what a relief it was when I noticed he wasn't. I tip toe out of my room and check if he's in the kitchen and again there was no Soryu to be found.

Serena: "Huh?"

I then check the laundry room but still no Soryu. I look around the house and can't find him anywhere. I should feel relieved but instead I filled up with worry and confusion. There was only one place left for me to check... Soryu's room.

Serena: "Soryu are you in there?"

I ask while staring at his closed door. I begin knocking but I get no answer. I wait a few minutes to see if he would come out but still...nothing. That's when I decide to do my thing. Break the rules.

Serena: "I'm coming in."

I say as I turn the door knob and open it slowly. It reveals what I suspected... No Soryu. Sighing I enter his room and look around. For some reason I was attracted to an odd abstract painting that was placed on one of his room's walls. Curiously observing it's features I see a signature at the bottom.

I couldn't understand the name so I stepped closer to it. When I study it closer I finally knew what it said. It was one of Ota's paintings. Grabbing it by it's corners I lift it up and off the wall holding it in my hands. Gazing up from the painting I notice a black button on the wall.

Serena: "What's that for?"

I questioned as I set the painting down on Soryu's bed. Looking behind me to check if Soryu wasn't back I then shrugged and pressed the button. I hear the sliding of something near me and when I look to my side I watch a tall glass mirror move to it's right, revealing a hallway.

As usual my curious side leads me in the hallway to a room full of monitors. I automatically knew that this was the place Soryu would use to watch me. Each monitor had different views of all the house, inside and out. The only place that didn't have a camera were the bathrooms. I sit down on a chair near me and decide to use these to my advantage.

Serena: "Let's see where he went off to."

I say to myself as I look at the out side monitor. Both dogs were tied up outside so he didn't take them out for a walk by himself. I rewind the footage and there I saw him. Soryu had left the house in a rush as if an emergency happened.

Serena: "This could be it... My only opportunity to escape..."

I say while standing up and glancing over to a laptop on the desk near me. That was probably where I could turn off the motion sensors and the cameras. No one was around so I could leave. This was my chance but did I really want a to leave?

Out of nowhere I hear a phone ring. Checking the monitors I still see no one  but can still hear the ringing near. Running out of the monitor room I follow the sound of the ringtone. Searching in Soryu's bedsheets I finally find it, grabbing it and reading the caller ID. It was someone called "The annoying one".

Serena: "Who could that be?"

I wondered while staring at the phone screen and not answer it. Suddenly the caller stopped calling and sent a message. The message said...

"We're almost there, you turned the sensors off right?"

I furrowed my eyebrows as I read the message. Someone was coming and I was going to lose my opportunity. Running into the monitor room I quickly turn off the sensors and right when I was about to leave I notice on one the monitors a car park in front of the porch.

(Oh no...)

I quickly delete all the footage from this morning and deactivate the cameras so no one could know I found this place. Running out of the room I press the black button, closing the secret entrance and hang back the painting. Rushing out of Soryu's room and closing the door I make my way to the kitchen.

Opening one of the cabinets I grip onto the handle of a knife and take a deep breath. Suddenly the front door opened and a familiar voice was heard.

Eisuke: "I can't believe I got stuck with babysitting."

Baba: "No one asked you to come, Soryu told me not you."

Eisuke: "Shut up I did this as a favor."

Baba: "Since when do you do favors?"

Eisuke: "..."

Baba: "Admit it you just want to see Serena."

My grip loosens as I hear their voices. The front door could then be heard closed and their footsteps trail around the house.

Baba: "There you are beautiful."

I hear Baba say, causing to let go of the knife and turn around, slowly closing the cabinet so he wouldn't notice.

Serena: "Baba..?"

Baba: "You know it the one and only."

Baba says as he opens his arms and walks towards me, soon giving me a bear hug. I was confused by his actions. I didn't understand why he was hugging me. Last time we saw each other I threw a poisoned drink at him.

Baba: "Come on where's the sugar?"

Serena: "Uh...don't you hate me..?"

Baba: "I don't hold grudges, especially with an angel like you."

Baba says to me as he lets go of me, allowing me to see his wide grin. A fake cough could be heard from behind of me, interrupting our conversation.

Eisuke: "Angel? She's more like a wild Tasmanian devil to me."

Baba: "Well she is a little bit of a rebel."

Eisuke scoffs before he replies to Baba's comments.

Eisuke: "A little bit? That girl has no manors and never listens."

Serena: "I'm standing right here you know?"

Eisuke: "I know."

He says confidently while folding his arms and smirking. I roll my eyes at the sight of this arrogant person.

(And he says I have no manors? The nerve of this guy...)

Baba: "Well Serena since Soryu had an emergency meeting we've come to make you some company."

Serena: "In other words be another set of watch dogs?"

Eisuke: "No in other words be your babysitters."

Eisuke says to me earning himself a death glare from me. I take a step towards him in a threatening way not hesitating to snap at him.

Serena: "Don't compare me with a baby..."

I say irritated by his comment. He then takes a step closer and stares back at my eyes, not caring if mine were full of anger because his matched mine.

Eisuke: "Don't compare us with mutts..."

He replied coldly at me. His expression was unfazed but his eyes clearly showed his emotions...his anger but he then turned his sight away. He glanced over at Baba and so did I.

Baba was scratching the back of his ear with a very pleased expression on his face. Eisuke facepalms himself while shaking his head.

Eisuke: "Well at least don't compare me."

Eisuke speaks up again as he looks back at me after looking at Baba.

Serena: "Hmmph..."

I walk away from him and go to the living room. Laying down on the couch I stare at the ceiling and release a small sigh, wondering why did I have to go through all of this.

Baba: "So what are your symptoms?"

Baba says as he takes a seat on an empty chair in front of me. I move my head to my left to face him, showing him my confused expression.

Serena: "What are you doing?"

Baba: "Asking you a question."

Serena: "I can see that captain obvious but why?"

Baba: "Because I'm your therapist now."

Right when Baba finishes his sentence Eisuke began to laugh. Both Baba and I turned our gaze towards Eisuke.

Eisuke: "Really? A therapist? We all know you're missing a few too many screws to be a therapist."

Eisuke says as he tries to control his laughter. Baba smirks as he fixes his hat, shifting it to top perfectly.

Baba: "I may not have the education to be one but I'm sure of various of women who dream to have me as a therapist. I mean how couldn't they? Have you seen my complexion?"

Serena: "..."

I stay in silence not really knowing how to react to this conversation.

Eisuke: "There may be five or six that dream of you being a therapist but I have way more. I am Eisuke, how could they not?"

Baba: "The ladies prefer me."

Baba snaps at Eisuke's comment.

Eisuke: "Stop lying to yourself that's not good for you health."

Baba: "Using medical terms on me now, huh?"

Eisuke: "That wasn't a medical term, it was an observation turned into a statement, an honest statement if u may add."

Eisuke attacks back in a proper and smart way just to get on Baba's nerves.

Baba: "This is how you want to play Eisuke?"

Eisuke: "I don't play games, my intentions are serious."

Baba: "Oh it's on."

Those were the last words Baba said to Eisuke' before he out of nowhere twirled and next thing I know he was wearing a lab coat a glasses. His hat was no where to be found and his facial expression changed.

Serena: "Uh...where did you get that from...?"

Baba: "That does not matter now does it? I am your therapist and I'll be the one doing the questions here sweetheart."

Baba says to me in a sweet tone as he slowly walks towards me, soon taking a seat next to me and placing his hand over mine.

Serena: "..."

Baba: "You seem very quiet I suppose something is bothering you internally in your emotions."

He says to me while combing his long, light, brown hair back allowing his vibrant green eyes to glow in my direction. He puts his charming traits on stage to prove he's right. Baba slowly leans towards me as he softly begins to speak up once again.

Baba: "I believe you have been hurt to much...oh poor girl. Let me help heal you so you can feel all better."

Serena: "Baba..."

I say his name nervously as my eyes widen more and more each second he comes closer to me. His lips match his soft expression.

(What is he doing!?)

Eisuke: "Stop it, you're a pathetic excuse of a therapist."

I hear Eisuke's voice say while I watch Baba be pulled away from me. I sigh in relief as I close my eyes for a split second happy it was over but boy was I wrong. Glancing up I see Eisuke now too wearing a lab coat and a devious grin playing on his lips.

Serena: "Okay seriously where do you keep getting those coats!?"

Eisuke: "That isn't the issue. The issues is simple if you observe her actions closer."

Eisuke completely ignores my questions and takes a seat next to me. The same one Baba was sitting on earlier. I stare at him not understanding this situation at all.

Serena: "Umm..."

Eisuke: "See...her problem is that she had trouble speaking to the opposite sex. Males to be exact."

Eisuke says in a cocky 'smart' tone as he gently pushes a strand of my hair away from my face. His slender fingers caress my skin as they lower down to my jawline. Placing his thumb under my chin he softly obligates me to meet his eyes with mine.

Eisuke: "What you need is some practice. I can help you know what males want in life and how to approach them, just give me time to show you."

Eisuke softly says as he leans closer and closer to me. My body stiffens and inside I begin panicking. I didn't know what else to do but kick him where the sun doesn't shine. Right when I was going to do it Eisuke was pulled away by Baba's hand.

Baba: "I see you're a skilled therapist but I believe Serena must choose who was a better therapist."

Eisuke: "I suppose you're right, well then Serena choose."

Serena: "Grr..."

I look down at the ground feeling irritated and growl lowly to myself.

Baba: "So?"

Serena: "WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE BOTH OF YOU!? WHAT I WANT IS MY PERSONAL SPACE! YOU IDIOTS A THERAPIST HELPS PEOPLE NOT USE THEIR CHARM!"

I yell at them while swinging my arms in the air. They both fall into silence while looking down in shame.

Eisuke: "..................."

Baba: "......................"

Serena: "Now then... I'll be in my room, do not disturb me unless you have food or if Soryu is back. Got that?"

They both nod their head in response, not wanting to speak. I walk off to my room and close the door behind me. Plopping onto my bed I sigh my third or fourth sigh of the day.

Serena: "What a stressful day..."
