Issues to be dealt with
Serena's P.O.V.
I walked down the halls while keeping a close eye on the maids and other staff near me. For some reason I couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. Was there someone following? Or was I just imagining things out of guilt? Pressing the button to call the elevator I waited for it to come but there was something in me telling not to. Was I being too paranoid?
Suddenly the sound of a female voice rang in my direction, causing me to look back. I then saw a maid walking towards me with a room key in her hand.
Maid: "Ma'am I believe you dropped this."
Serena: "That isn't mine."
I say to her when I read the room number on it. An apologetic expression could now be seen on her face. She then began to apologize.
Maid: "Oh I'm very sorry to have disturbed you then-... Oooah!"
Serena: "Are you okay??"
I asked while giving her a concerned look. A soft smile formed on her lips as she slowly stood up. She placed her hand on my left shoulder, trying to get balance and I allowed if while I helped her up. The maid then took a few steps back and began to bow apologetically various of time.
Maid: "Yes, yes. I'm truly sorry."
Serena: "It's alright."
Maid: "Well I should get back to work. Hope you have a wonderful day."
Serena: "Oh, okay. Thanks."
I say while tilting my head to my side. What an odd situation... Turning around I focused my attention on the closed elevator doors that still haven't opened. I continued to press the calling button and waited while tapping my feet.
Growing impatient I decide to speed walk towards the stairs and go down those instead. Glimpsing backwards here and there I continued fastening my pace. Suddenly I lost balance and couldn't grip firmly on the railing. Closing my eyes and waiting for the upcoming impact I stayed silent but what was odd was that the pain never came.
Serena: "Huh?"
???: "You should be more careful."
Opening my eyes I glance upwards and see someone in front of me. Someone holding me close to his warm chest. That someone was none other then Soryu Oh.
Gathering myself together and finally balanced I stood in front of him. He released me from his caring grasp and placed the back of his hand over my forehead. What was he doing? I had no idea. All I could do now was remain quiet and avoid eye contact with him.
Soryu: "It doesn't seem like your sick, you're temperature is pretty normal."
Serena: "..."
Soryu: "In any case I can go buy you some medicine."
He said in a soft tone while placing his hand on my head. Caressing my hair with his right hand he then decides to lean down to meet with my eyes. In consequence I froze.
(I don't deserve to be in your presence... I've done you wrong, I'm Sorry Soryu.)
Soryu: "Hm..."
Serena: "..."
I looked to my side in attempt to avoid his eyes but Soryu wasn't the type of guy to give up easily. Grabbing my hand Soryu then walked away while dragging me with him. There was nothing I could do. The only thing I could do was follow him while I find a way to explain... And hope that I wouldn't lose him.
Taking me to his car Soryu opened the door for me and I simply got in. When he entered he started the car and drove off with a serious expression on his face. I remained silent the whole way. Soon enough the car stopped. Soryu stepped out of the car and made his way towards a small store.
(How can I tell him the truth...? I didn't mean for any of this to happen but at the same time... I can't say it wasn't my fault. If I hadn't gotten drunk. If I had closed my room door. None of it would've happened.)
I thought to myself while tightly gripping onto my skirt. I was feeling so many different emotions. I was sad about my future with the man I loved but at the moment the only thing I could feel was anger... Anger at myself.
Suddenly I heard my car door open, snapping me out of my thoughts. Glancing to my side I notice it was Soryu with a white paper bag and a water bottle in his hands. He crouched down and opened the bottle. Handing it over to me he then pulled out some Advil for me to take.
Soryu: "Here this will help you feel better."
Serena: "..."
I quietly drank two pills while starring at my skirt. Soryu let out a soft sigh before standing up and closing my car door. When he got in the car he drove off somewhere once again. Half an hour passed by and Soryu stopped at a bar. He escorted me out of the car and we entered this place that was unfamiliar to me. Soryu was acting strange... Did he know of the mistake I made?
Holding my hand Soryu guided me through groups of people. He handed some money over to a tall man that would then open a door for us. Soryu and I entered that silent room. I looked around and all I could see was what seemed to be a storage room.
Soryu: "Serena..."
Serena: "...?"
Soryu: "Don't move."
He said in a commanding tone. Pinning me up against a wall he then gave me a stern look. Slowly trailing his hand upwards my left arm he then stopped near my shoulder. I was confused by his actions. What was going on now??
Soryu then leaned down towards me with a small smirk on his lips. His breath tickled my neck while he whispered to me... "Got it." Pulling something off of my shirt he then threw a small dark electronic device with a faint red light onto the floor.
(What was that!?)
I thought to myself in shock as my eyes widened. Soryu then stepped onto it and crushed it without any struggle. Glancing up at me he spoke up.
Soryu: "We have to go. Now."
Serena: "...okay."
I finally had said a word. I didn't understand how I got that thing on me... Thinking hard on what happened earlier today I then remembered the maid from before.
(She must've had put that on me when I was trying to help her up.)
Soryu pushed a few boxes aside and found a black briefcase. It seemed like he knew this place all too week. Opening it up he revealed a couple of handguns and ammo. He loaded them up then threw one over to me. I swiftly catch it and hide it in my purse.
Soryu: "Come on."
He said to me while grabbing my hand and walking out of the room. We exited the bar but not through the same way we got in. Instead we went out the back door where Soryu already had another car ready for us to leave in. He was definitely one to think about everything.
When we got in he then drove off with me by his side. We both kept an eye out to see if we were being followed but the coast was clear. For now that is.
Soryu: "For now we'll be staying at a motel, until I can figure out something better."
Serena: "Okay..."
I simply answered in a low tone while staring out the window. Soryu continued to drive while he spoke up once again.
Soryu: "Serena you don't have anything on you anymore. You can talk freely now."
Serena: "...okay."
Soryu: "What's going on?"
He questioned me but I didn't know what to say. I had to tell him to truth but was now the right moment? Would there ever be a right moment...?
Serena: "Nothing."
Soryu: "..."
The rest of ride was silent. As he had said he took us to a motel and got us a room. Once we were inside our room our 'talk' from earlier reemerged.
Soryu: "Serena talk to me."
Serena: "..."
Soryu: "Is this all because of yesterday? Because if it is then I need to understand that-...."
Serena: "Soryu... There's something I must tell you..."
I gulped down some of my fear as I said that one sentence. I could feel my fingers shaking in fear of what's to happen when I confess to him of what I did. I hung my head while I tried to hold in my tears. How pathetic could I be? Acting like a victim... When it was all my fault.
