Today was the day.

Today was the last day at the lake house before Asher and I made our way back to the pack. I was having bittersweet feelings at the moment. On one hand I was relieved to be going home, I missed Lena, Logan, Joseph and to my surprise the whole pack- who I have yet to be introduced to, Asher says it will have to be soon. Especially with the on coming attack from my… father. It still hurt to think he would do something like this but I learned to push this to the back of my mind for now. I decided I wouldn’t dwell on it anymore, what’s done is done and now I have to try and work through it so everyone can stay safe. I have long accepted the fact that I was beginning to care about the pack and it was making me slightly anxious that they’ve been going on without their alpha for a week. But I had to admit that this mini vacation was more than amazing. I loved just lazing around and having fun with Asher. It really did bring us a lot closer than I thought possible.

I sighed and flopped onto the bed. I had just taken a shower and quickly threw on some neon yellow high waisted shorts with a matching belt and a black tube top. I didn’t feel like doing much with my hair so I just placed it in a messy but stylish bun. I breathed in the scent of the sheets and smiled faintly when I smelt Asher’s scent. It made butterflies float around in my stomach and I felt a little creepy smelling the sheets. I heard the shower turn off and I heard Asher rummaging around in the bathroom. Carefully I rolled out of the bed and padded out of the room, towards the living room. I then lay down on the window seat and let the sun that was shining through the window warm up my skin. I sighed in content before reopening my eyes, the scenery was absolutely beautiful and I really was going to miss the sight. It’s a good thing I had taken pictures with my new phone. Yeah Asher had bought me a new phone, my old one was easy to track and there was also the fact that my dad or any of the other boys could call it any second. So reluctantly I gave up my precious phone and got a new one, the Samsung galaxy s3 HD.

The best part was the phone case, I was smitten with it. Asher had got me a Marauder Map phone case; it had the front of the map on it with the whole Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs bit. Yes, I am a huge Harry Potter fan. When I was 14-16 I had a huge obsession with the series, don’t get me wrong I still do but it’s a little more tame now. Anyways, enough about my weird Potter obsession, I really wanted to go swimming but Asher said to wait for a little while. He wanted to take a stroll in the forest before we took one last swim and left. The lake was shining like little crystals under the suns rays and I could see a couple other families who were enjoying it’s cool depths. Asher told me all the people were shifters and they came from the pack as well. I had met a couple of them and was really surprised when they all immediately accepted me. I honestly thought that I would have to earn their trust, I couldn’t help but feel happy that I was being accepted.

I even got to see some of the wolves I had saved, it was nice to be appreciated for saving someone instead of being lectured for it. The people I had saved were so nice and caring, I didn’t understand why my father insisted on hunting. I mean sure there were bad shifters out there but I mean that didn’t make everyone bad. It’s the same with humans, there are some really despicable one’s out there but that didn’t mean that all humans were bad. I sighed and sat up, leaning against the wall.

“A penny for your thoughts?” Asher asked. I turned my head and saw he was watching me with a smirk on his face. His hair was wet and sticking to his head slightly, he was clad in some dark jeans and a white v-neck t-shirt. He looked really good and I couldn’t help but let my eyes trail over the toned muscles on his arms and the small teasing glimpse I was getting from the little v-neck. I grinned “Are my thoughts really only worth a penny?” I teased. Asher chuckled and made his way over to me, encircling my body in his arms. “Of course not, I would pay all the money in the world if I could just get a glimpse of what you’re thinking about” he whispered, lightly kissing my lips. I chuckled and rolled my eyes “Or you could just creepily read my mind like you always do” I said. Asher chuckled and picked me up before stealing my spot and placing me in between his legs. “Nu-uh sweetheart, your mind block’s getting better and better everyday” he said, lightly caressing my bare shoulders. I smiled and leaned back against his chest.

We sat there together on the sill for a while. Just enjoying the sunshine, scenery and each others presence, I noticed that the mate bond was a strong force. I’ve only read about it but now that I am experiencing it, it’s completely mind blowing. I tilted my head up and saw Asher was staring down at me, I smiled lightly before leaning upwards and pressing my lips to his for a minute. I pulled away but Asher turned me around slightly so he could deepen the kiss. I slowly wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed myself closer to his warm body. I let myself melt into his embrace for a minute but I pulled away before it could go any further. I hopped off his lap and grinned at his pout “Come on, didn’t you want to go for a walk?” I asked. Asher frowned and stood up before capturing me in his embrace again. “I would rather stay here and do this” Asher muttered, placing another deep kiss on my lips.

I rolled my eyes and grinned “Sorry wolf boy but I want to go for a walk before we swim so let’s go!” I announced. I interlaced our fingers and dragged him towards the back entrance, ignoring his grumbling. We slipped out of the door before walking over to the trail, Asher and I usually do this in the morning. It was good exercise and I loved the forest in the morning. Everything was just waking up and I guess you could say that it added a little magic to the place. I loved this little morning ritual, it was really nice. Especially since it was with Asher, I really don’t think I could picture myself with anyone else at the moment or at all actually. I know I was falling for him and I also knew I was falling hard. I wondered if he felt the same way, I looked up at Asher and saw he had a casual smile on his face. I smiled as well before letting go of his hand, Asher paused and gave me a look that clearly said ‘Why-did-you-let-go’ I grinned and launched myself onto his back, laughing as he lurches forward a bit from the impact.

His hands quickly grab my upper thighs and I keep my arms around his neck.

“Come on, Adventure is out there!!” I announce, throwing my arms up in exaggeration.

Asher laughs “You totally stole that from Up!” he says.

I grin and place a kiss on the back of his neck “Shut up and go!” I retort.

Asher chuckles and shakes his head before resuming walking. “Whatever you say sweetheart”

* * * * * *

“Do we really have to go back today?” I moaned as I leant back against the car, watching as Asher packed our stuff. Asher chuckled and came over to where I was standing. His palms pressed against the Lamborghini on either side of my body so that I was caged between the car and his body. Asher then placed a soft kiss on my forehead, “Sorry sweetheart but we can’t just leave the pack, but I promise we’ll come back” he murmured. His eyes gazing at me with such promise, I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck so I could bring his face closer to my own. “Alright fine, but I’ll be holding you to it” I warned. Asher smirked before his soft lips captured my own, once again I lost myself in his embrace and clutched him closer to me. But our kiss was cut short when one of our phones started to ring.

Briiiing! Briiiing!! Briiiing!!!

It was definitely Asher’s, I used songs for my ringtones.

Asher sighed and kissed me lightly one more time before reluctantly letting me go. His hand went to his back pocket and he brought out his I-phone 5. He looked at the caller ID quizzically for a moment before pursing his lush lips and sliding his finger over the green button. “Hello?” he answered, sounding a little bit annoyed and I chuckled at that. I couldn’t hear what the person was saying but they sounded frantic and was talking quite quickly. “Isabella?” Asher said. Isabella? Who was that? Her name sounded familiar and I twirled a piece of my hair as I tried to remember. That’s when it dawned on me that he was talking to Isabella Wright, Lena and Asher’s cousin. Lena and she were like sisters and Lena made me promise to meet her once we came back.

“What’s wrong?” I heard Asher say and I immediately snapped my eyes to his. Gone was the playful look, it was now replaced with his alpha demeanor. I wrapped my arms around myself and watched Asher with wide eyes. What was going on? Did something happen with the pack? “Calm down Izzy… wait, what do you mean--” but it sounded like Isabella had cut him off and his expression turned grave. I heard Isabella say something and Asher nodded his head “We’ll be there in an hour” he muttered before ending the call. Asher turned to me and I could see the worry that had flashed over his stoic expression.

I quickly went and wrapped my arms around Asher who breathed deeply after the contact. I was glad that I was able to calm him down a bit, now I needed to know what the problem was. “Asher, what happened? What’s going on?” I asked. Asher sighed and crushed me too his chest again, inhaling my scent. I did the same and buried my face into his chest. “It’s Lena and Logan, something’s happened” he said, sounding slightly strained. I froze and glanced up at his face, he looked so worried and I couldn’t help but start to feel worried as well. I reached up and cupped his face “Hey look at me” I murmured. Asher did as told and looked deep into my blue eyes “Don’t worry, let’s just get going so we can find out what’s going on alright?” I suggested. Asher nodded and released me from his hold before opening my door.

I thanked him and stepped in, he closed the door before he practically flew to the driver’s seat. He turned on the car and the next thing I know we’re flying down the dirt road. Usually I would be protesting from the deathly speed but I could feel that deep down this wasn’t a time to be slow. We needed to get back to the pack, Lena was slowly becoming a close friend and I was insanely worried about her. Logan was my friend as well and I loved our little conversations, they were fun and entertaining. I only hoped that they were okay, I briefly wondered if my father had anything to do with this. What if they had attacked while we were away? That is absolutely horrifying to think about, I shook my head and drew my knees to my chest.

I only hoped that when we got back everything was a little less… awful than how everyone was making it out to be.

True to his word Asher got us home in an hour but really it felt like a lifetime. Once we parked both Asher and I bolted out the door and into the pack house which was a little ways away from our house. I intertwined my fingers with Asher’s and he gave me a reassuring squeeze, he pushed open the front door and we were immediately ambushed by people. I become slightly overwhelmed and moved my other hand so that it was holding Asher’s arm, I was hiding behind him slightly. Asher felt my nervousness and gently kissed my head. I saw a few people giving us confused looks and I guessed it was because no one really knew about me yet. I had yet to be introduced to the pack.

“Alpha! Luna!”

“Sir–”

“We didn’t see–”

“It was so sudden–”

“The East part of the pack–”

“Ruined all of it­–”

I was getting confused with all these snippets of information and I could tell that Asher was as well. He growled lowly before running the hand that wasn’t interlocked in mine through his hair. “Silence!” he demanded using his alpha tone. I felt shivers run down my back but not from fear, no from pleasure. Mentally I chastised myself, geez Rose this is no time to be turned on by your mate’s sexy alpha voice. The room began to quite down and Asher took a breath “Where’s Noah?” he asked, looking around the room for his second in command. A petite girl with auburn coloured hair and bright green eyes stepped forward and I felt Asher let out a breath of relief. “Isabella” he said, nodding at her. Ah so this was Isabella she couldn’t be more than sixteen, she was quite pretty and had that strong, playful air to her but right now she seemed pretty upset.

“Alpha, Noah will explain everything but we need to get to the hospital now.” She said. Asher and I shared a look and my grip tightened on both his arm and hand. “What happened?” I asked. Isabella shook her head and began to usher us out of the house “I’ll tell you on the way, now let’s get going!” she exclaimed. Isabella shot out of the door and Asher turned to look at the rest of the pack, “I want all of you to calm down okay? When I get back we will deal with what happened. Understood?” he said. Courses of “Yes Alpha” rang around the room and Asher nodded gratefully. The next second he quickly swept us from the room and over to the truck that Isabella was waiting in. Asher and I quickly got in and he started the car. I sat in the middle and turned to look at Isabella who was gazing worriedly out the window.

I took her hand in my own and gave it a light squeeze, she turned towards me and gave me a grateful look. “Now, why don’t you tell us what happened?” I asked gently. Isabella whimpered and I saw tears start to form in her eyes. My heart dropped and I turned in my seat to give her a comforting hug. “Shh… it’s alright, don’t cry” I said, rubbing her back. “Just take your time and start at the top” I soothed. Isabella wiped her eyes and smiled at me “Okay” she whispered. I took a peek at Asher and saw he was looking at the road but focusing on our conversation, I was grateful when he took one hand and placed it on my thigh in comfort, we both really needed that. Isabella sighed “Okay so… this morning everything was going fine. I mean it was all normal, none of us expected it. I mean, there were no signs, no warnings nothing” she started. I nodded my head “Go on” I said softly. Isabella squeezed my hand and closed her eyes “It happened so quickly, after the first group finished their morning rounds the second group came and was just beginning to transition. But… they smelt a couple rouges just over by the East side of the land” she said, her voice growing lower. I sucked in a breath, this was not going to be good.

“Then… Noah took some fighters with them and found the rogues” she stopped and sucked in a deep breath. “They took out the whole East side, the houses were ruined and many were injured. The worse part is that there were even a couple deaths” she whispered. “How many?” Asher demanded, speaking for the first time. Isabella sighed “Fifteen” she whispered, tears falling down her face. I wrapped another arm around her and whispered comforting words to her “What happened to the rogues?” Asher asked. Isabella sniffled “Noah took them out but, it was all just a rouse. While most of the pack was distracted in the East end and they took the opportunity to attack” she murmured.

“Who?” I asked.

Isabella looked me dead in the eyes and said “The Burns hunters”

My hand flew to my mouth and tears formed in my eyes. Looks like I was right, my father did do this. He actually attacked the pack, to be honest that really hurt me. People died because of me. “What did they do?” Asher asked. I turned to look and saw he was slightly shaking, I could feel the anger rolling off of him in waves. I squeezed Isabella’s hand once more before turning to place a hand on Asher’s thigh. He seemed to calm down at my touch and I lightly squeezed his thigh. Asher let out a breath before glancing at Isabella “Tell me” he ordered. Isabella nodded at her cousin “They were here to kidnap Rosalie but since she wasn’t here they went after the next best thing, the Alpha’s sister– Lena” she murmured. I gasped and Asher let out a low growl “What about Derek? Is he alright?” Asher asked. Isabella nodded “Yeah, the only person who got too badly injured was Logan” she said.

I noticed Asher had parked “Come on let’s go” she whispered. Immediately the three of us exited the cars and entered the Pack hospital. When we got there the pack doctor, Dr. Morgan, greeted is. “Alpha, Luna pleasure to see you, although I do wish it was on a more pleasant circumstance” he said. I looked around us and saw various people from the pack around, some were injured, some looked nervous and it all just broke my heart. To know my father had stopped so low to use rogues as a distraction. I shuddered, I would worry about that later. For now I wanted to know more about Lena and Logan. Dr. Morgan gestured towards his office “If you please” he asked. Asher and I followed him while Isabella didn’t move.

“Isabella?” I asked.

She shook her head “Call me Izzy, I’m going to go check on someone. I’ll see you later” she whispered before slipping down a hallway. I watched her go before turning towards Asher and the Doctor. When we entered the room Asher immediately pulled me onto his lap as we sat on the chair together, his arms stayed securely around my waist. Dr. Morgan ran a hand through his hair “I hate to be the one to tell you this but Lena is extremely lucky.” He said. “If Logan hadn’t jumped in front of her, I’m afraid she wouldn’t be here right now” he said. I sucked in a breath, my mind was reeling over all the information. Dr. Morgan gave Asher a pointed look and it finally dawned on me that he wanted to talk to Asher alone. It kind of annoyed me but Asher was the alpha and I won’t be officially Luna until we mate… I sighed and stood up from the chair. “Can I go see Lena and Logan please?” I murmured. Dr. Morgan nodded “Of course, they should be taking visitors now. I’ll get Marley to show you” he said, dialing the phone.

I turned around and faced Asher, immediately he stood and embraced me tightly. “Check on her for me please” he murmured in my ear. I nodded “Of course” I said, kissing his cheek. Asher growled and brought his lips onto mine for a moment before breaking away, leaving me breathless. “Dr. Morgan? You called for me?” a shy voice asked. I turned and saw a short blonde haired girl standing shyly at the door. “Yes, please take Luna to room 145 and 146” he said, Marley looked over at me and widened her eyes. “Yes… of course!” she stuttered out. I gave her a small smile “Be quick” I muttered to Asher, he nodded and kissed me again before saying “I will” and lightly tapping my butt towards the door. A faint smile made its way to my lips before I followed Marley out the door.

“It’s wonderful to meet you Luna” Marley stuttered. I gave her a warm smile “Call me Rose, it’s nice to meet you too” I said. Marley gave me a timid smile and we walked in a comfortable silence the rest of the way. When we reached room 145 I saw a little boy no older than 5 or 6 standing outside the door. I was slightly baffled that he was alone and I looked at him curiously. Marley tapped my shoulder “That’s Alpha Asher’s younger brother Derek.” She told me. I nodded my head in recognition; Derek looked up from where he was sitting when he saw Marley. Instantly he jumped up and walked closer to the two of us, “Nurse Marley! And who’s the pretty lady with you?” he asked, giving me a sly smile. My eyes widened… uh oh another adorable flirt child. “This is Luna Rosalie” Marley introduced. Derek pouted and I couldn’t help but notice how much he looked like Asher. He had short dark hair with slightly tan skin and brilliant golden eyes. He was as tall as bit above my wait and he was absolutely adorable. Derek’s eyes widened “You Ashy’s girl? No fair… Ashy always gets the pretty ones” he said sadly. I chuckled along with Marley.

“Well come on Derek don’t you want to see Lena?” Marley asked. Derek’s eyes widened and he nodded his head. “Yeah!” he exclaimed but when Marley slowly opened the door he hesitated slightly. I could see the nervousness in eyes bright eyes, I smiled lightly and opened my arms for him “Come on, I’ll carry you” I said. Derek gave me a smile and hopped into my arms “Thank you” he mumbled, wrapping his small arms around my neck and burying his neck into my hair. Together Derek and I followed Marley into the room so we could check on Lena.

When I walked into the room I immediately sucked in a breath when I saw Lena lying there on the bed. One of her legs was broken and so was an arm. I also noticed there was an IV in her hand, pumping some sort of liquid into her system. She also had a busted lip and a couple of bruises and scratches around her body but other than that she looked pretty okay. I heard Derek whimper lightly and I rubbed his back soothingly while we walked forward. Lena was staring at the ceiling, her eyes were clouded and I could tell she was clearly thinking hard about something. “Lee lee?” Derek murmured. Lena’s eyes snapped down and she looked at us, a wide grin spreading over her face “Always going for the pretty ones aren’t you Der?” Lena teased. Instantly I smiled, glad she was still able to joke. Derek grinned and I moved us closer, I grabbed a chair and pulled it next to Lena before setting Derek on my lap.

“I’m stealing Rosie from Ashy, she’s nice” Derek said proudly. I mentally awed he was so cute, Lena chuckled “I don’t think Ashy would appreciate that but you can try” she winked. Derek smiled before frowning at her cast. “Does it hurt?” he asked curiously. Lena shook her head “Not at all, but if you promise to be good I’ll let you sign it” she offered. Derek grinned and nodded his head “Promise!” he exclaimed. I chuckled before looking at Lena. “I’m so glad you’re okay” I whispered, tears forming in my eyes. Lena laughed lightly “It takes more than a couple hunters to take me down” she joked. I smiled and nodded as tears rolled down my cheeks. “Clearly” I said, chuckling lowly. Derek turned to me “Don’t cry Rosie! I’ll kiss Lee lee better!” he cried as he leaned closer to Lena and kissed her cheek. I chuckled and Lena giggled “Thanks little man, I feel all better now” Lena said while Derek grinned proudly.

I smiled and plucked a black permanent marker from the side table and handed it to Derek. “Here sweetie, why don’t you sigh Lena’s cast now?” I suggested. Derek grinned and nodded before snatching the marker from my hand. I pulled us closer to Lena so he could write properly. I noticed that Derek was left handed and his writing was the usual adorable mess that little kids had. I watched him write his name and draw a couple little pictures before turning my attention back to Lena who was watching her younger brother with adoration on her bruised face. She snapped her gaze away from him for a minute to look at me.

“Where’s Ash?” Lena asked, I shrugged “With Dr. Morgan, they’re discussing something” I replied. Lena nodded her head slowly before dropping back down to the pillows. “So… how’s Logan?” I asked. Lena shrugged “I don’t know, no one has said anything about him.” she muttered. I sighed and frowned, what happened to him… surely he wasn’t… no, Logan wouldn’t have… I shook my head and erased those thoughts from my mind. Suddenly I felt Derek slump against me and I saw he was sleeping. I turned him so he was in a much more comfortable position before looking at Lena. “So…” I started. Lena sighed “I know, I fractured my arm in two places and my leg in three. Your father is a douche, no offense intended, he was using silver that night. It got into our blood system, that’s what this IV is for that’s also why it’s taking me longer to heal” she explained. I nodded my head “I thought something along those lines” I murmured. I felt tears well up and they dropped onto Derek’s head “I’m sorry” I cried, trying to keep my sobs down.

Lena chuckled and I gave her a questioning look, I fully expected her to be mad at me not to be laughing. She placed a hand on top of mine and smiled “I don’t blame you Rose, this isn’t your fault.” She told me. I shook my head as more tears fell “It’s my father that did this, it’s because I’m not there…” I said. Lena sighed “You can’t blame yourself for this, either way you would have somehow met Asher, it’s what fate wanted. This would have happened anyway. Rose, you can’t change what happened but you can affect how the outcome will be” she said. I sniffled and wiped a tear away, I realized that Lena was right. I can’t change what happened, yes it seriously sucked how things were turning out but I needed to stop moping and do all that I can to help the situation be resolved with a little amount of violence as possible.  “You’re right, thank you” I murmured. Lena smiled “No problem” she said before laying back down.

“So… how was the lake house with my brother? Did you guys have fun?” Lena asked, waggling her eyebrows.

I blushed and rolled my eyes “It was actually a lot of fun, I wouldn’t mind going there again” I told her. Lena grinned “I know, the lake house is addicting. It’s way too much fun to leave!” she said. I nodded and opened my mouth to say something but at that moment the room door burst open. Derek jumped and woke up at the sound, burying his head in my chest while Lena and I snapped our heads to the door. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw it was Asher, his eyes narrowed in on me and a look of relief passed over his face. “Thank God” he murmured before striding over and kissing my forehead. “I felt your distress and I thought something was wrong” he murmured. I smiled and placed a hand on his cheek “I’m fine, it’s your sister you should be worried about” I said nodding over to Lena. Lena smirked “Yeah Ash, you should be worried about me! I’m the one with the cast!” Lena exclaimed playfully.

Asher smiled and walked over to her, lightly kissing her forehead “I’m glad you’re alright” he murmured. Lena smiled “No need to get all mushy on me, I’m perfectly fine!” Lena joked. Asher rolled his eyes before turning back towards me. Asher finally noticed the little boy sitting on my lap and his eyes narrowed on his little brother. “Hi Ashy!” Derek greeted excitedly, the permanent maker flailing from his hands and onto the ground. Asher frowned “Already going after my girl Derek?” Asher teased, but there was a hint of seriousness in his tone and that made me grin. Derek smiled widely and reached for his older brother Asher walked over and picked him up “Rosie’s pretty, can we share?” Derek asked. Lena, Asher and I all chuckled. “Sorry kid but Rosalie’s mine” Asher proclaimed, as he put his younger brother down. Derek frowned and ran back over to me, I smiled and placed him back on my lap. This of course caused Asher to frown while Derek stuck his tongue out at him. I laughed and kissed the top of Derek’s head “He’s so cute!” I exclaimed.

“I’m stealing her!” Derek exclaimed, his tiny hands clutching around my shirt before burying his head in my neck. I laughed along with Lena when Derek sent Asher little looks of triumph, he pouted and crossed his arms over his chest childishly. Asher opened his mouth to say something else but I quickly cut him off. “Where’s Logan?” I asked. Asher’s pout turned into a frown and Lena and I exchanged looks. “Logan’s here!?” Derek cried, Asher sent a pointed look at Derek and I nodded my head in understanding. “Err… Derek honey, why don’t you and Nurse Marley go to the cafeteria? Then Ashy and I will come and pick you up later?” I said, grinning when I saw Asher sending me an annoyed look from calling him Ashy. Derek frowned and trained his large golden eyes on my face “But… I want you to come Rosie” he said sadly. I smiled and kissed his head “I promise Asher and I will come get you, then we’ll take you for ice cream okay?” I suggested.

Derek instantly grinned “Okay!” he cried as Asher called Marley back into the room. Derek kissed my cheek then Lena’s. “I’ll be back Lee lee, get better!” he cried as he gave Asher a hug. Asher kissed his brother’s dark hair before handing him over to Marley who began to talk to the small boy about what he wanted for lunch. When they were safely out of the room and down the hallway Asher shut the door and strode over to me. I wasn’t surprised when he picked me up from the chair just so I could sit on his lap. Asher wrapped his arms around me and placed a light kiss on my neck “My brother likes you way to much” he murmured, taking my chin in a hand so he could turn it towards his own. I looked into Asher’s golden gaze before closing the space between his lips and mine. I relished in the feeling of his velvety lips pressing against my mouth, “Really?” I breathed before pressing another short kiss on his bottom lip “That’s too bad­­–” “I kind of–” “Have a thing–” “For his older–” “Brother…” I teased between kisses. Asher smirked and went to say something but some one coughed from behind us. I blushed when I realized we were still in Lena’s hospital room, oops looks like Asher managed to distract me again.

I laughed when I saw the face Lena was giving us, “As cute as you guys are, I would rather not see my brother swapping spit with my friend!” she joked. I giggled and leant back against Asher “Sorry Lena” I said. She waved her hand at me before turning her gaze towards Asher. “So where is he?” she demanded, getting right to business. I felt Asher’s arms tighten around me and my throat constricted as I waited for Asher to say something. His silence was freaking me out and I could see it was affecting Lena as well. “Asher” I hissed, smacking his leg lightly. Asher sighed “He’s alive” he stated. I let out a breath of relief and I saw Lena sag back against the white hospital bed looking slightly less agitated. “Well where is he?” I asked. Asher shook his head “Not right now, we will talk about it tomorrow, it’s getting late and we need to take Derek home.” Asher said, but his tone clearly said there were to be no arguments.

I gave him an irritated look and Lena opened her mouth to protest but Asher sent us both a patronizing look. “No, Lena you need your rest and so do you Rose. Logan can wait until tomorrow, neither of you are ready to hear this. You’ll probably fall asleep” he said. I sighed and nodded my head, realizing that he was right. Today had been very long and very stressful, I was now beginning to see that I was exhausted. I glanced at Lena and the look on her face told me she realized the same thing. I stood from Asher’s lap and walked over to Lena, I kissed her cheek and gave her a small hug “I’ll be back tomorrow” I murmured. Lena nodded “Bye Rose” she whispered before letting me go. I turned to Asher and gave him a kiss on the cheek as well “I’ll meet you outside” I said before walking out of the room so the two siblings could talk.

Asher spoke with his sister for a minute before he slipped out of the door. I smiled at him when he wrapped an arm around my waist as we walked down the hallways, probably to pick Derek up from Marley. I looked at Asher’s face and saw he looked completely knackered, I wrapped my arm around him loosely and squeezed his waist in comfort. Asher looked down at me and grinned thankfully, I rested my head on his shoulder and together we walked towards the cafeteria.

“Thanks for taking him Marley” I said, giving her a wide smile. Marley smiled shyly back and gave Derek an adored look. “It’s fine, he’s a pleasure to be with” she replied quietly. Asher nodded his head at her and she flushed. “Alpha, Luna” she said respectively before departing down the hallway. I hiked the sleeping boy up on my hip and made sure he was resting comfortably against my shoulder before beginning to walk out of the hospital. The sky was pitch black and the air was pretty chilly, my arms tightened around Derek and Asher stepped into pace with me so he could wrap an arm around my waist. I smiled and snuggled into his embrace “Is Derek coming home with us?” I asked. Asher nodded “Yeah, my parents are out of town and Lena was supposed to watch him” he said. I nodded my head in understanding, apparently they went for a small holiday for their anniversary and they should be back soon. They heard about the attack and are coming home straight away but they won’t be back for another few days. I didn’t mind, Derek was cute and to be honest I was really nervous about meeting Asher’s parents. I needed to mentally prepare myself.

Asher and I went into the truck and I quirked a brow when I saw a car seat in there. “Isabella went home to grab a few things then came back and brought one, she’s spending the night here. Her best friend Jason was hurt and needs to stay the night. Dr. Morgan allowed her to stay the night with him” he explained. I nodded my head and carefully pried Derek’s fingers from my shirt before placing him into the seat. I got in as well and put on the seat belt and watced as Asher closed my door before making his way to the driver’s seat. I rested my head against the window; I was so tired, I felt my eyes beginning to close but I didn’t let myself succumb to sleep. 

Asher and I sat in a comfortable silence for the rest of the way. I was glad when I saw he was finally pulling up to the house in what seemed like minutes later. I sluggishly stepped out of the car and unbuckled Derek. I began to walk towards the door but immediately found myself in someone else’s arms. I looked up and saw Asher grinning cheekily at me, “Asher!” I hissed, Derek was in my arms still sleeping. What if we were too heavy? I knew Asher was strong enough to carry both of us but–

My train of thought was cut off when Asher pressed his lips against mine. “Shh” he murmured and I nodded my head, letting Asher carry us upstairs. Somehow Asher managed to open and lock the door with Derek and I still in his arms. I found myself upstairs staring at a blue room with a racecar bed and a whole bunch of little boy stuff. I smiled lightly as Asher set me down, we quickly changed Derek before tucking him in. Asher grabbed a stuffed wolf and placed it in the little boy’s arms who immediately snuggled into it. I mentally awed at him, Derek was so darn cute. Then we both kissed his forehead before walking out of the room. I sighed and leaned against Asher “Come on sweetheart, it’s bedtime for my little hunter as well” he teased, kissing the side of my head.

Asher practically dragged me into our room. I groggily walked to the bathroom and quickly washed my face and brushed my teeth. I pulled my clothes off, dropping them into the hamper and walked into the room towards the closet, halfway there I was stopped my two warm muscular arms that drew me towards a rock hard chest. I looked up and saw Asher giving me a lustful gaze “Are you planning to sleep like that?” he purred. I looked down and blushed, Asher was only wearing his boxers. I was so tired I didn’t even notice that I had walked out in only my undergarments. “I… err… um…” I stuttered, now slightly more awake. Asher chuckled and gave me a small peck, I frowned that wasn’t enough. So I turned and wrapped my arms around his neck before crashing my lips onto his.

Asher was surprised by my action and it was a minute before his lips responded to me. My lips moved hungrily against his and I jumped slightly so my legs wrapped around his waist. Asher’s hands moved down to cup my butt and a small moan made its way from my throat. My fingers trailed over his rock hard abs and Asher groaned into my touch. Asher began to walk towards the bed and I felt my back hit the soft and silky sheets. I giggled and pulled away slightly for air before pulling him back towards me. Asher ran his tongue over my bottom lip and I immediately complied, slightly opening my mouth. Asher slipped his tongue into my mouth and massaged my tongue with his.

I moaned again and I heard Asher growl, it was very obvious that he was majorly turned on. He kissed me hard one more time before pulling away “If we don’t stop now, I won’t be able to keep control” he said, his voice was strained. I kept my eyes closed for a minute before opening them. I blushed when I saw Asher’s eyes had turned an orange colour. His wolf was slowly seeping out and I felt very exposed all of a sudden. “I’ll just go put on a shirt…” I murmured as he closed his eyes. Asher nodded and began to get back in control. I scurried towards the closet and sifted through the clothes until I found one of Asher’s shirts. I unclipped my bra and slipped on the shirt before walking back out. Asher was lying on the bed, when I approached I saw that his eyes were now just an orange tinge.

I scampered into the bed and he immediately wrapped his arms around my waist so we were spooning. Asher turned the lamp off before burying his head into my neck, inhaling my scent. “Asher, do you think everything will be okay?” I asked. Asher was quiet for a moment “Don’t worry sweetheart, nothing will hurt our pack again.” He answered. I sighed, he didn’t really answer my question but I guess I was okay with this answer. Who knows what the future will hold?

I snuggled back into Asher’s chest and closed my eyes “I’m scared” I admitted. Asher kissed my neck again “It’s alright Rosie, I will be right here to protect you and everyone else” he murmured. I smiled and nodded my head. “I trust you” I muttered, Asher caressed my stomach “Hush now, we’ll talk in the morning. Tomorrow will be a big day” he murmured. I nodded my head again and slowly felt myself succumbing to sleep. “Good… night… Asher” I whispered.

Sorry for taking so long, but I had lot’s of stuff to do, I know crappy excuse but it’s true! This chapter is 11 pages long on word, so I hope it makes up for it!
