It was late, and the main protectors gathered small stones to cover up all the entrances. They made sure no one could come in and went all the way down to the pupa and eggs.

Sessle was a main protector and was in late shift. His job was to cover up the last entrances.

Several ants were running around into random rooms to check everything, before they went to sleep.
Sessle completley forgot about his job, and let the croud carry him along.

Little did he know, this would be the last night in the den. Last night in life.

-outside-

A single red ant was scurrying around to find any targets.
She ran over a stone. An idea popped into her head. If she stayed on the stone she would be able to smell any other ants.

Sure enough, the sweet smell of a large colony filled her senses. The ant ran right back to her own den and informed her colony.

"My precious kingdom!" The queen called out after the soldier had told her about their neighbors. "We will start a raid. You may kill the ones that are in your way,  but we are ONLY after the babies!" She said.

-In the other den-

The queen was in the bottom room with the pupa. "I'll protect you." She whispered.

A while later, she heard something shocking. The rest of the colony did too- it was the sound of ant feet drumming on top of the den!

The ants were terrified, but knew they couldn't come in.
Sessle was in bed with his wife, he was panicking so hard, he remembered what he had forgot all those hours ago. He hugged his wife tight.

The ants came closer. Everyone could hear them. They came in- And ran straight down.

Everyone went out of their rooms to attack. Blood was spilled everywhere. Only a few attacked, though, and suddenly everyone realized what they were after. The pupa!

The red ants ran out with all of the pupa and nobody could do anything.

They had lost a whole generation of ants.

I did not plan this at all, it was just a random idea, so I'm really sorry for this sudden story. I already have enough to be honest.
