Big Sister Wanda got You
It was a quiet day at the Avengers Compound. More say, it became quiet when FRIDAY announced Peter's arrival. Tony immediately shushed everyone right before he heard a "bing" from the elevator signaling Peter's arrival. Everyone understood. After all, they were arguing about Peter being Spiderman.
Peter bounced around the living room. "Good afternoon Mr. Stark! Is it okay if later we could watch a movie since Aunt May is out of town for the weekend? Oh. Sorry, I didn't know. I'll go do my homework." His jubilant expression became serious in an instance as we walked past them careful not to disturb them.
After a while, they finished their argument. Steve said, "I don't care what powers he has he is just a kid! You can't let him fight!" Tony countered, "One, he wanted to help, he was doing this all on his own without me knowing. Two, I don't see what's wrong. Are the Avengers going to always be there? We only come when? A global disaster. The police? They don't do shit. He just wants to help okay?" They got louder and louder, forgetting that Peter could hear every word said.
Peter was mid equation when his ears begin to hurt. Badly. He heard the Avengers yelling. He felt horrified. He was the reason why they were arguing. "Spiderman is too young. He isn't strong enough. Don't you get it! The kid is what? Fifteen?" Then, Mr. Stark replied, "Rogers, the kid is sixteen. I'm always looking out for him." He covered his ears and put in earphones to block out the sounds but it made no change. He felt himself having a sensory overload. And someone else did too.
Wanda was just sitting there listening to the Avengers squabble. She couldn't take sides. Peter was like a little brother. She couldn't see him hurt but helping others inspired by her made her feel proud. And him happy. She felt something wrong with Peter. She got up and rushed to his room unnoticed by the Avengers.
She opened the door to find Peter curled up in a ball crying. "It hurts so much." She whispered not wanting to add on to the noise. "It's okay, I got you. FRIDAY dim the lights to sensory protocol." The lights dimmed and she wrapped her arms around Peter. Peter began to shake whispering words like, "I'm just trash" or "I'm not worth to be here" and "I'm too weak to be an Avenger".
It hurt Wanda watching someone who she called her little brother feel this way. "Peter, listen to me. You are a very special person. You are the strongest person I know. Stronger than Tony, Steve, Hulk, and Thor. Even stronger than me. Don't let anyone tell you differently. Ignore what they are saying. They are wrong. You deserve Spiderman. You deserve the best. The world might not deserve you but Peter, I can assure you, you deserve the world. I got you. Now, just let what I'm saying sink in. Deep breaths, in and out. Focus on what I'm saying."
She cast a bubble that blocked everything but her voice. "It's okay Peter." After a while, Peter fell asleep. She used her powers to change him into something comfy and tucked him in. She planted a kiss on his forehead and used her magic to make sure he wouldn't get any nightmares or panic attacks tonight. She'd make sure of it.
She went back down and shouted "BE QUIET!" Everyone stopped and turned to the witch. "Did you forget about Peter's senses? He had a sensory overload! Could you keep it down?! Also, Cap, he heard every word you said so discuss this later." Everyone softened at the thought of Peter in pain because of them. Wanda continued.
"I put a bubble around him, he will be fine. And, I'm with Stark on this one. Peter makes an excellent superhero."
Cap opened his mouth to protest. "And if I hear that you guys are insulting Peter you won't like it." They nodded. She smiled to herself. No one would hurt Peter, she'd make sure of it.
