2-year-old: *is wearing high-top Converse she can't take off herself*

2-year-old: PLEASE help me take my shoe off! *persistent begging*

Me: *Finally reaches back and takes both her shoes off in one fast movement*

2-year-old: *bursts into tears*

Me: What the heck

2-year-old: *sobbing* YOU TOOK IT OFF!

Me: What the heck

2-year-old: YOU TOOK IT OFF!

Me: But you wanted me to???

*This repeats several times*

Me: I'm sorry, I don't know how to help you.

2-year-old: YOU MADE ME CRY!

(I figured out she probably wanted one shoe off/one shoe on and expected me to figure that out without articulating it but when she yelled that last part I almost choked laughing in secret)
