SWEET KARMA

So the 8-year-old I get from school every single day has a problem of acting like I'm stupid and I can't even describe how much it starts to grate on me.

Today she was running to my car and she dropped one of her mom's gloves, which she was borrowing. Let me explain the carpool situation. There are two lanes for driving, with an extra lane in between for the kids to cross through. I was parked in the second lane, and her glove dropped in the first lane.

Me: Oh, go back, you dropped your glove.

8-year-old: *sees glove lying there* I can't just run back!

Me: Kids are still in the lane, you can run back.

*She wastes so much time telling me why she can't do it, the other lane of traffic starts moving and now she really can't do it*

The PE teacher who acts as the crossing guard every day was right beside our car. I said, "Open your door and ask him to grab your glove."

8-year-old: WHAT? No you don't understand! I can't just open my car door and tell him that!

Me: Yes, you can.

8-year-old: *by now snapping my head off* I can't do that! You don't understand!

Right before our very eyes, the glove got plowed over and smashed by a large van.

8-year-old: It got run over!!!! That's my mom's glove she told me not to lose!

Me: Well, you never do what I say, so that's what happened. *guns our engine and leaves*

Me inside: *maniacal laughter*
