Kusakabe Tetsuya - The lovely boy next door.
Kusakabe Tetsuya kind of liked Sawada Tsunayoshi.
Of course, the first very reason was he never done anything that cause him to appear on the prefect's list namely "Animals that need to be bitten to death". He wasn't a show-off, a noisy one (if his Guardians weren't included), or the one who broke the rule (if building all the infrastructures could make it up for the ones they destroyed). He was kind to the point of being called naive.
When he was fourteen years old, the young Sawada boy was still a quiet kid. He was bullied, people laughed at him, he was nothing like an ordinary high-school boy full of enthusiasm - The prefect was different, basically everything about him spelled "Extraordinary" - And maybe thanks to it that he succeeded in walking through many obstacles, struggling to make his way into the filthy Mafia world. Even when he had become the King of that world, his kind smile still remained on that face, a pure one with no burden.
Kusakabe wouldn't deny the feeling he had towards Tsuna including both admiration and love. He admired the way Tsuna could stand still in the middle of the tragic battlefield, the way he gave away his little peaceful moments amidst the smell of blood and rust, and his slightly low voice kept rising ups and downs with no one dared to disturb. He adored moments when he touched that kid just by a single shoulder touch and received such a pleasant smile like a clear sky as a reply, loved those small but warm greetings whenever they accidentally met each other. He even hoped the prefect could be less violent, that would've been better for that boy.
To the Vice-prefect, the appearance of Sawada Tsunayoshi was indeed tranquil - just like himself. But it was also because of it that everyone wouldn't stop coming back to him. Because in the middle of Storm, Rain, Lightning, Sun, Clouds, and Mist, the only thing, that would always come to them and wait for their return, was the clear and serene Sky. It wasn't love. It was faith and trust. It was the thing they would always follow without wondering if it was right or wrong. Compared to the couple's love got weakened when it came to reasons and ambitions, no one - who accepted that smile - was brave enough and had the will to turn their backs on Sawada Tsunayoshi. Kusakabe believed there's wouldn't be anyone like that.
Kusakabe Tetsuya smiled softly. The sound of opening the car door suddenly rang.
"I'll have to trouble you again, Kusakabe-san."
Tsuna scratched his head, laughing it off. The noisy atmospherics in the airport seemed to be smaller. Could it be even they wanted to hear his melody?
"No problem, it's my honor."
The black-haired man replied, smiling brightly.
"And by the way, Sawada-san..."
"Yes?" Tsuna just finished putting his suitcase into the car, remaining in the back seat.
"Thank you for taking care of Kyo-san."
"Yes?"
Tsuna opened his eyes wide in confusion, but Kusakabe only smile, not saying a word. He started the engine, the motorbike glided under the sun-drenched sky.
