Bani's POV

Soon the sound of the bullet was heard , the blood splattered and a body was on the ground.

I slowly opened my eyes and  tears fell from them while seeing the sight unraveling in front of me.

It was Meera. She had taken the bullet for me.

"MEERA! "

I screamed.

"No.. No.. No... This can't be happening.. "

I cried holding her in my arms with her head placed on my lap.

"Ba.. Bani.. "

She said stammering.

"Meera you . . Why did you do this..? "

I asked crying.

"We will be there for each other. We... Pro... Promised.. Each.. Other.. Re.. Remember? "

She said and I cried even more.

"Meera you are going to be alright. Aakesh call the ambulance. "

Mayuri said and Aakesh started calling the ambulance.

"Don't.. It's too late.. "

She said hissing in pain.

"No Meera aese mat bolo.. "

I said helplessly.

"Oh no.! No.! I don't want to die.. I can't die.. "

Chandani started murmuring.

She covered herself and sat on the ground.

"No please don't kill me.. NOOOO..! "

She screamed.

Soon her eyes started turning pale white.
Veeranshu and Aakesh moved towards her to hold her or else we knew what she was going to do.

The same thing that Tapish had done.
She looked at herself.

No! No! No! It has come! It has come..!

Slowly and slowly her skin started blackening.

Veeranshu and Aakesh held both her hands to prevent her from harming herself.

But soon a cryptic smile formed on her face. We were all nervous but Aakesh and Veeranshu still kept their hold intact on her hand.

Chandani lifted her gaze and looked at them. She looked unidentifiable at the moment with her appearance.

Slowly blood started dripping from her eyes and and she smiled even more.
The most scary smile I had ever seen in my life.

And within seconds she twisted both her hands 360 degree and Aakesh and Veeranshu moved back with the shock.
She was now lying on the floor with both her hands twisted. She was laughing while we were creeped out.

"Ba.. Bani.."

I heard Meera whispering slowly.

"Take Care of everyone. You guys can make it.And now I will meet my Tapish"

She said and slowly closed her eyes forever. Tears fell from my eyes and even Mayuri was devastated.

Aakesh and Veeranshu looked back at some with worrisome expression .

Seeing them distracted, Chandani got up on her feet, her hands still twisted backward, and she started running towards the unconstructed building.
Both the boys followed her as she climbed up.

Soon they reached the top of the building but only found Chandani standing on the railing with the same devious smile on her face.

"No.. "

A small whisper left Veeranshu's mouth.
But Chandani jumped from the top and I heard the thud sound as her body touched the ground.

Blood oozed out of her head and I closed my eyes with the sight.

We lost two more people.

Aakesh and Veeranshu came down as we heard the sound of ambulance.

Aakesh had still called them, though Meera predicted the unfortunate juncture that we went through.

Police Station

"Hello Bani, I am inspector Shivaay! "

He said and got seated in front of me.

"Hello Inspector"

I said feebly.

" You are Meera Dixit's close friend.. Aren't you? "

He asked.

I nodded.

"Words Ms Sharma.. "

He said with a sense of firmity in his tone.

"Yes.. ".

I answered.

" Few days back your friend Tapish , Meera's boyfriend, had committed suicide. Am I right..? "

He asked and I felt a little irritated.

"YES.. ! "

I said being a little agitated.

I knew he was just doing his duty but I didn't want to think about those horrible moments.

" And Now Chandani as well.. "

He said and I sighed and nodded.

"Don't you think all this can't be a coincidence? "

He asked.

I didn't say anything.

" Look Bani, I know you guys are playing some game. I have studied Chandani's and her friend's lives. Her friends started dying and the same is happening with you and your friends. So tell me what is this game and why are people dying? "

He asked adamantly.

" I don't know.. "

I said.

" Then what we're you all doing at that isolated place? "

He asked .

"We were just on a long drive and we reached that spot. We wanted Meera to feel a bit better and that is why we went there but then out of nowhere Chandani came there and she shot our friend. We followed her to get a hold of her but she jumped from the building. "

I said. I knew I was lying but I also knew that nobody would understand what was actually happening with us. Nobody would believe us. In fact who knows they might report us for psychiatric help Or something.

I can't take that chance. Not now.

"I know this isn't the entire truth Ms Sharma but you can go now. And the truth well it can't be hidden forever. "

He said with a skeptical gaze .

I got up and came out.

Aakesh and Mayuri went to meet Meera's and Tapish 's parents after there inquiry and it was Veeranshu who was waiting for me outside.

"You didn't go with them...? "

I asked.

He didn't respond and just kept looking at me.

"Veer.. ".

I said slowly as he held my hand and started moving out of the police station.

" Veer what happened..? "

I asked and he suddenly engulfed me in a tight hug.

"Kya hua? Sweetheart I could have lost you today..!!! "

He said tightening his hold as I could feel his voice cracking and his heart beating insanely against my chest.

"Hey.. Hey.. It's okay Veer.. I am right here.. "

I said patting on his back.

"Tu.. Tumhe pata hein.. Jab usne tumpe goli chalayi mujhe toh laga ki meri jaan hi nikal gayi. Meri jeena ka paksad khatam hogaya... Main khatam hogaya.. "

He said with a painful voice.

"Mujhse picha chudwana itna aasan kahan Mr Singhania..? "

I joked a little and chuckled to calm him down. He moved back , his hands still on my waist and his eyes looking staight into mine.

" Rooh aur jism bhi kabhi ek dusre se picha chudwa sakte hein? Dil aur dhadkan ek dusre se kya picha chudwa sakte hein? Sansein aur zindagi kya ek dusre ke bina chal pate hein? Toh phir hum kaise alag ho sakte hei. "

He said cupping my face and moving closer to me with this every statement.
My breathe hitched with our proximity.

"Apni jaan ko agle baare khatre main dalne se pehele kabhi mat bhulna Bani ki koi hein jo sirf tumhare liye jee raha hein.. "

He said as now the space between us was almost none. I almost melted with his words.

I didn't know what got into me but I couldn't control myself anymore. I didn't want to think about the past or future at the moment. I just wanted to think about us and us only.

I captured his lips with mine and without any hesitation he kissed me back with all passion. We weren't just kissing but devouring each other trying to bridge all the time that we weren't with each other.
Our tongues were dancing together. Each of us trying to take control. His one hand was on my neck while his other was on my waist bringing me more closer to him.

Soon the weather became a bit windy as water droplets fell on us. But we still didn't stop. The weather made us feel even more escatic. We moved a little to breathe as Veer dropped few kisses on the corner of my mouth.

"I LOVE YOU BANI "

He said and kissed on my cheek this time.

" I really really do... "

He said kissing on my my other cheek. "

"Veer aaj jab maut mere samne aayi na, toh mujhe meri zindagi ke sare sachein ehsason ko mehsus kiya aur maine tab hi jane that I L.. "

I was about to say when the phone rang and I looked at it.

"It's Mayuri.. "

I said and he moved a little back

"Yeah Mayu.. We are coming. "

I said and cut the call.

" We should go now. They are back home.
I said calming my heart . Veer nodded trying to compose himself as well. And we left.

Soon we reached home. Veer parked the car and I came out.

My heart was still lost in that lingering moment when his lips was against mine.
Those emotions that I had tried to subdue within myself had emerged out again.

I was moving forward as I saw a woman on the street in front of our house.
She was hitting something with a sharp object. I didn't understand what she was doing and I moved a little forward to look at it.

The woman was veiled so I couldn't see her face and I was standing a bit far.
I peeked to look at what she was hitting. Horror struck me as I saw what was actually beneath the sharp objects getting stabbed. It was a little bird whose intestines were completely out with the continuous piercing of the glass shards.

"Oh my gosh.. "

I said and felt a warmth behind me.

"What happened Sweetheart ? "

He said making me look towards him.

"Th.. That woman.. "

I said pointing towards her as I hugged him.

"It's okay Sweetheart.. Maybe she is mentally ill. Don't be scared."

He said patting on my back.

I looked at him as he wiped my tears off.

"It's too much Veer.. "

I said being vulnerable.

"Sweetheart, you are the bravest woman that I have ever met. Calm down. Remember if we are together we can make it . "

He said and I tried calming myself down.

" Thank you.. "

I said.

"Humare bich Thank you kabse aagaya? "

He said with a soft smile.

"Veer humein Mayuri ko humare past ke barei main bata dena chahiye.

This game might use it to turn her against us.

Main pehele hi batana chahti thi usse but so many things happened since then and I just couldn't . "

I said.

"We will Bani. Don't worry. "

He said

We got inside as we saw Aakesh a bit panicked. Mayuri was trying to calm him down.

"Aakesh what happened? "

I asked.

"Ba.. Bani.. Dad got admitted in hospital"

He said being teary.

"But what happened? "

I asked putting my hand on shoulder.

" Heart attack.. "

He said and broke down crying.

"Aakesh Sambhalo khudko.. "

Veer said.

I knew how Veer was. All the jealousy apart, he knew Aakesh was a good person. And Veer would never hurt a person like that intentionally ever.

I always believed that's why even after reading his letter, I wanted to meet him but he just disappeared in thin air. No one knew where he went.

And after a point I accepted his words written on that letter.

I know both of us accepted that we loved each other but now I was determined to know the full truth. That truth will be our new beginning.

"Guys, I want to meet Dad.. I want to.. "

He said.

" Veer you should take Aakesh to his Dad.. "

I said .

"I can't leave you guys alone amidst all this.. "

Aakesh said.

"Aakesh hum teeno hein na yahan. Sambhal lenge. There is still time for your turn. "

I said.

" Your turn is next Bani. I don't want to leave you alone. "

Aakesh said holding my hand.

"Aakesh main hoon Bani ke sath. And Veer will also return as soon as he drops you. Don't worry. Uncle ke pass ja.. "

Mayuri said. And after so many days I saw my sweetheart Mayuri. I smiled a little bit soon my smile faded as I thought about how she would react once I told her the entire truth.

" Yes Aakesh go.. "

I said firmly.

"I will be back soon. Take care guys.Don't you dare die or else I will kill you. "

Aakesh said and we laughed a little.
Aakesh and Veeranshu started leaving.
Veeranshu turned and said..

"Bani remember what I told you and take care of yourself. Main jaldi aaunga..and choose truth. "

He said and left.

Now me and Mayuri were alone in the room.

Never we would have imagined that us being alone would be awkward.
I did'nt say anything and started moving towards my room.

"Dost se nazre churayegi?"

She said and I Turned.

" Mayuri.. "

I said.

"I am sorry Bani. "

She said engulfing me in a hug .

"Mujhe maaf karde. Pichle kuch dino maine tujhe bohot hurt kiya hein. Maine apna sara gusaa aur dard tujhpar nikal diya. Galatiyan maine ki thi aur uski saza maine humare dosti ko dedi.. ".

She said as tears fell from her eyes.

" It's okay Mayuri. I am just glad I have you back.."

I said as tears fell from my eyes as well.

"No Bani.. Itne aasani se maaf mat kar mujhe. Maine humesha se galatiyan ki hein. Tune aaj tak ek aache dost ka har kadam uthaya. Mujhe sambhala jab main toot chuki thi. You became my strength Jaan.And I love you. "

She said with a big smile on her face.

" I love you too Mayu.. "

I said hugging her.

"Abb humare bich koi jhuth nahi aayega.."

She said and my chest filled with guilty emotions. I felt weak. The fear of losing her forever was the only emotion that I felt.

"Mayu I have to tell you something.. "

I said.

"Woh baad main.. Pehele apne room main jaa and change , I will cook something for us and we will have some besties time.. "

She said joyfully.

" Par Mayu.. "

I intervened.

"Jaan please,aaj ka din bohot heavy tha pehele Meera ko khoya humne aur tujhe bhi almost kho diya. Meri toh jaan hi nikal gayi thi. Thoda time let's try to forget all this. "

She said softly and I nodded.

Mayuri went towards the kitchen and I went towards my room.

As I passed by the store room I saw that the door was open. I went towards it and closed the door.

I started walking again towards my room and that's when I heard the door creaking sound again.

I slowly turned to look at the door that was now completely open and darkness was lurking in all it's corner.

Veer POV

I was now returning home.
My mind was completely on my sweetheart.

She is the love of my life and the rays of sunshine in my dark world. I met her when I thought that life was the biggest curse. But she made me realize how beautiful love was. How fortunate we were to live this life . And how when time is right we find our soulmates. It might take time but we do.

I almost lost her today. Only I know how I felt at that very moment. I felt I couldn't breathe at the moment and even thinking about it now filled my heart with agony.

I will not let anything happen to her.
If she gets hurts, the devil would unleash from within me and I swear that this devil would destroy the entity of that dark soul playing with ourselves. Even if in the process I would end up losing myself completely.

I soon reached the house when I saw Mayuri leaving in a cab. I could'nt see her completely but she looked in hurry.
Was everything alright? Where was sweetheart?

I thought and immediately got off the Car and went inside the house.

As I entered, I saw the lights of the house was dimmed. And sweetheart was sitting in front of the fireplace.

"Sweetheart"

I said touching her shoulder.

But she didn't respond.

I slowly bend and made her look towards me. Her eyes we're filled with tears and she looked in deep pain.

"Ar.. Are you fine? Did something happen? "

I asked panicking.

But she still didn't respond.

"Sweetheart you are scaring me. What happened? "

I asked again.

"Sweetheart ans.. "

I was about to ask again when I felt her warm lips on mine.
