" What is going on Mayuri? "

I shouted in confusion.

"Bani.. Jaann.. It's complicated.. "

She said coming near me and trying to hold my shoulder.

" Complicated? But from where I see it.. It's cheating Mayuri.. "

I said rebuking her.

"Bani.. See please listen to me.. I love Veer.. You know how much I love him.. "

She said with tear in her eyes.

" Baby you didn't think about that Veer when you spent a night with me.. "

Jay mathur said with a shameless smirk on his face.

"You shut the fuck up... I am talking to my friend!"

I told him fuming in anger.

" Alright love .. Chill.. I am leaving and by the way You are gorgeous.. "

He told me but I felt disgusted by his presence.

" I am just a second away from punching you Jay Mathur.. ".

I said.

" That's not the way to talk to your senior Bani. "

He said.

" Guess you are still stuck in the college era .Well that's quite clear cause you grew older but couldn't grow up as a person"

I said.

" Whatever bitch.. ".

I was about to punch his face when Mayuri held my hand. He left with a scoff on his face.

Bastard.

" What the hell Mayuri.. "

I said jerking off her hand.

"Don't call me Mayuri.. You always call me Mayu.. "

She said.

" I call my best friend as Mayu but clearly you didn't trust me enough to share all this happening in your life. "

I said being agitated and she cried.

"Ba.. Bani.. See this was a mistake.. "

She said as tear fell from her cheek.

" Did you actually.. ? "

I said fearing that what I was thinking isn't right.

"I did. "

She said in a go being broken.

"How could you do this Mayuri? You are freaking engaged. And the engagement is your choice. You claim to love him. Then why? "

I asked.

"It was on 24th August Bani.. You know that dreadful date right.. ? "

She said crying. I nodded as I frowned .

I knew that date. That date was indeed very dreadful. Mayuri's Dad had committed suicide on that day. Her Dad was a doting father. Mayuri was in immense pain when it happened and thats when she asked me to move in with her.

"I was in a club and I was drinking. Veer was as usual busy with his work and you were working on your book. I really didn't want to bother you.."

She said.

"Mayu the only reason that I didn't ask you any questions was because I thought you were spending that day with Veeranshu and I didn't want to intervene. Why didn't you tell me if you needed someone? We were sisters Mayu weren't we then why..? "

I said as a tear fell from my eyes too.

"I didn't want to be a burden for you.. "

She said lowering her gaze.

"Really Mayuri??? So tell me Ms Mayuri when you helped me while I was in foster homes did you think I was a burden to you.. ? "

I asked angrily. The anger's source was my pain.

I know I would be considered a hypocrite here but the only thing that I didn't share with her was cause I didn't want to hurt her but after Veeranshu's behavior I wanted to even confront her but she on the other hand had hid all these emotions and her pain from me and felt that she didn't want to be a burden? How could she think that even.

"Bani please I am sorry.. I did'nt know what got into me.. I just wanted to run away from the world.. "

She said.

"And you found your solace in Jay Mathur? "

I asked.

I know I was going hard on her but Jay was a womanizer and a very spoiled brat. I knew he didn't have any feelings for her.

Moreover she claimed she loved him.
Veeranshu had done something similar to me.

How do people betray the ones they claim to love?

"Bani I was vulnerable and Veer..

She said and I was taken aback with the revelation.

"Cheating is always a choice and no reasons justify them unless abuse by the partner either physically or mentally is involved Mayuri. I know how vulnerable you were and I complete understand that but you should have spoken to Veeranshu about it. You should have confronted him about your.. Int.. Intimate relationship.. "

I said being a little uncomfortable.

"Bani I know what I did was wrong but pl.. Please dont tell Veeranshu about this.. I love him alot.. "

She said crying and holding my hand.

"Mayuri I am not telling him anything because it's you who need to tell him the truth.. "

I said

"I ca.. Can't.. I will die without him Bani.. "

She said almost begging me.

"Mayuri get up.. I can't see you like this.. "

I said making her get up.

" Then promise me what happened today will stay between us.. "

She said with pleading eyes .

" Mayu ek baar meri baat sun aur samjh.. Tu khush nahi hein iss rishte main.. "

I said.

" Bani tujhe meri kasam tu ye kissi ko nahi batayegi.. "

She said and I didn't know what to do anymore. My morales were against hiding this.

Veeranshu and Mayuri both were not being completely truthful in this relationship. And I knew that one day I was going to be in the middle of the cross fire.

But for now I decided to remain silent.
I will not get more in to it because that will only hurt me more.

They are two mature adults and the final call id their's. Enough of me lecturing them.

I really need another strong drink.
I just nodded and started getting back .
Soon everybody joined. It was 1:30 AM already.

I sat near the bar and was having my drink trying to get over this entire mess.

" So love, what are you going to do now..? "

Jay said.

" You again..!? "

I said being irritated.

" Why do you hate me so much? "

He asked acting innocent.

"Because I know what kind of person you are.. In college days you even used to go to the extinct of fooling girls for stupid bets.. "

I said in anger.

" Ohh so you did notice me love.. "

He said putting his hand on my waist.

"Remove your hand.. "

I said giving him a stern warning

" What if I don't? "

He asked.

" Then those very hands will get detached from your body.. "

I heard a foreign voice and turned to look at the person.

It was a man.. An attractive man.. With chiselled jaw and beautiful eyes. His beard adding on to his look.

"Who the fuck are you..? "

Jay screamed.

" Not someone to fuck with.. "

He said and held Jay's arm firmly.

"Leave my hand.. "

Jay said as the man didn't leave his hand and presses it causing it to pain.

"LEAVE.. IT'S HURTING! "

Jay screamed and the man left his hand.

" Now you know when someone says to leave it means leave. "

He said intimidating Jay who left from the spot.

"Thanks but I could have handled him.. "

I said sipping the drink as he sat beside me.

"I know... I guess I was rather saving him from your wrath.. "

He said and I chuckled.

"So you are a charmer as well.. "
I said.

"Well glad to hear you think I am a charmer.. Hope it's working on the most beautiful woman I saw today.. "

He said flirting with me.

"Flirt as well.. "

I said and he smiled.

" Michael.. Michale D'souza.. "

He said extending his hand.

I shook his hand.

"Bani Sharma.."

I said.

"Lovely name of a lovely lady.. "

He said and kissed the back of my hand.
I had to say he was immensely attractive. Maybe he is the distraction that I was looking for.

Suddenly music played.

I saw all the couples dancing together. Even Mayuri and Veeranshu and Tapish and Meera. Some girl came and approached Aakesh as well.

"Shall we..? "

Michael asked extending his hand.

"We shall..! "

I said finishing my shot in a go and holding his hand.

We were soon on the dancing along with the other couples.

Michael's hand was on my waist while mine across his shoulder. He seemed like a great guy. He was charming and funny.
We kept swaying with the music as the wind blew across moving my locks and ruffling his hair.

I wasn't look at Veeranshu and Mayuri because I was done with them.
Mayuri was still my friend but I will not be giving her any relationship advise.

Love was a fucking joke and I was done being a joker.

It was time to search for compatibility and peace.

We were moving in sync when the partners exchanged and I was held by the pair of hands and in front of those orbs that were once my lifeline. Those orbs in which I found my peace once but everything got shattered.

He had a tight grip on my waist but I didn't look in his eyes.

I could feel his heart beating fast and his eyes searching for answers in mine but I didn't dare to look up. Maybe cause I was scared that my sharp resolute would diminish with one single gaze.

Soon the music stopped. And I immediately moved from their.

"Offo Bani.. Tujhe kuch ghante kya chora humne tune apne liye banda bhi dhundh liya.. "

Tapish said as usual with no filter.

"Tapish.. "

Meera said scolding him and looking at Aakesh for a minute.

Even my eyes wandered to Aakesh for a second and I felt a little emotion evident in his eyes.

I didn't want to hurt him but staying with me will hurt him more.

"Well, naya banda nahi dhundha aapki Bani ne par ye banda glad hein ki isne aapki Bani ko dhundh liya.. "

Michael said with his charm.

I could see Veeranshu gripping his fist tightly.

"Umm.. Guys he is Michael. And Michael that's Tapish, Meera, Mayuri, Aakesh and Veeranshu. "

I said pointing towards them.

Michael shaked hands with everyone but his Shakehand with Veeranshu was intense. Veeranshu held his hand in a tight grip and wasn't leaving it.

"Umm.. So Michael.. What do you do..? "

I asked trying to ease the tension.

"I am a psychologist.. "

He said.

"Woah... That's great.. "

Mayuri said.

" So what now guys? Shall we return? "

Meera asked.

"Well I have an idea.. "

Michael said.

" As Meera said we are returning.. "

Veeranshu said.

"Oh come on Veer don't be a buzzkill.. "

Tapish said.

" I have a very interesting game planned near the ruins of a church near by.. "

He said.

"Ohhh.. Spooky and all..? "

Mayuri said being intrigued.

"I don't think we should.. "

Veeranshu was about to say when I interrupted.

"I want to go! "

I said being excited.

"Woah.. Ms righteous is in our team.. "

Tapish said and I rolled my eyes.

"Cool so shall we go..? "

Michael asked.

"Sure! "

We said.

"I am coming too"

Veeranshu said.

"You don't have to if you dont want

Mayuri said.

"I want to... Can't leave you guys stranded just in case something goes wrong.. "

He said looking at Michael.

"Someone's skeptical.. "

Michael said in a mischievous tone.
Veeranshu rolled his eyes.

We soon left for the spot.

An anonymous and dilapidated abandoned church was in front of us.Faint shadows of tall trees were above it and an ominous silence was spread across. The faint howling of the wind was like a ghostly swarm .

"Woah.. That's actually freaking creepy.. "

Meera said.

" I still feel we should go guys.. "

Veeranshu said.

" Tu fatu hein kya Veer? "

Tapish said and Veer gritted his teeth.

"So shall we enter? "

Michael said.

"Sure.. "

I smiled and got in. I really didn't realize then what I was getting myself into.
The church had this old rusty smell. There were cobwebs all around and the antique structure of the broken furniture were adding on to the haunted look. The doors were dusty.

Mayuri, Aakesh and Veeranshu went to the left to explore.

Tapish, Meera and Michael to the right.
I didn't know why but a room in the corner intrigued me. It's seemed like a storeroom to place cache material.
I walked towards the room, it was so silent here that not even the crickets were audible.

The room looked different. It had darkness all over it lurking in its evert corner but a certain circle of area was all clean. There was no dust there.
How is that even possible?

I moved towards the area and bent to touch the floor. Not even a single speck of dust was on my fingertip.

The only thing that I saw there was a box. The box had gotten rusted but I could still figure out that some words were written all around it. A reversed cross was placed on the box.

I was about to touch it when suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... ! "

I screamed in shock.

"Hey.. Hey Love it's me.. "

I slowly opened my eyes looking at the person.

"Jay Fucking Mathur!!! "

I shouted and soon everybody assembled hearing my scream.

" WOAH.. you really like me don't you.? "

He said angering me.

" What the fuck are you doing here.. ? "

I asked.

"I followed you guys.. "

He said calmly.

That's when Veeranshu held his collar and pressed him against the wall.

"Who the hell are you..? "

Veeranshu said in anger.

"Ask Mayuri.. Your fiancee.. "

Jay said smirking.

That bastard.

"Ve.. Veer.. He was mine and Bani's senior in college.. ".

She said being nervous as hell.

Basically me and Veeranshu were in same college till our bachelor's . We kept our relationship a secret for that period due to few reasons and well that's a story for another day. Then he left and I shifted with Mayu . We went to same college for our Masters and thats where this idiot was our senior.

"So why are you following us ? "

Veeranshu asked Jay.

"Well I was getting bored in the party.. So thought of joining you guys.. "

He said.

"Well the more the merrier.. "

Michael said with a weird smile.

"Okay so since all of us are here.. Let's start the game! "

Tapish said.

"Sure, let's go to the hall! "

Michael said and all of us assembled in the hall.

"What are we playing? ".

Aakesh asked.

" Truth or dare.. "

Michael said.

"What? Come on dude we used to play that when we were kids..! "

Tapish said.

"Well this one's gonna be very
different..! "

Michael said.

"What do you mean? "

I asked.

"You will know..! "

He said.

"Well I always loved dares..! "

Jay said smirking.

"Fine then we have come so far.. Let's play the game.. "

Mayuri said.

We were seated.

"Okay so Bani, Truth or dare ? "

Aakesh asked me.

"Truth.. "

I said.

"BORINGGGG"

Tapish said.

"Okay so Bani, if you get a chance to save all of us sitting in this room and end of killing the entire population of the country or will you kill us and save the country.. "

He asked.

"What kind of stupid question is that..! "

Jay said.

"Of course she will save us.. "

Mayuri said.

"Sorry guys but... "

I said.

Their voices came.

"Ms Righteousness for a reason.. "

Tapish said with sarcasm.

"Guys a billion population over eight of us seems fair. It's morality you know? "

Veeranshu said taking my side.

"I don't have morales.. "

Tapish said.

"Really you will save others over yourself and your friends? "

Michael asked with seriousness over his face.

"Yes.."

I said and he became silent.

"Come on Guys don't be boring.. Let's do something hot.. "

Jay said.

"Okay so Jay! Truth or Dare? "

Meera asked.

"Dare obviously"

Jay said.

"Cool, so give Tapish a lap Dance! "

Meera aid casually and we laughed.

Lol you should have seen Tapish's face.

He said.

Aakesh said with a fake smile and we laughed.

Jay said rolling his eyes and got on with the dare. He opened his shirt and soon started moving around Tapish's chair. He moved very closer to Tapish's face and then waved his body back.

"Guys I am dying here.. "

Tapish said closing his eyes.

"Not like I am loving this.. "

Jay said twerking.

We all had a good laugh and then it was the next person's turn.

"Okay so Veer Truth Or dare ? "

Mayuri asked.

"Dare..! "

"Mayuri make this fun please.. "

Meera said.

"Okay so Baby I want you strip while maintaining eye contact with .... Bani...! "

She said and laughed.

"WHAT?? "

Me and Veeranshu said together.

Like what the actual fuck?

"Oh come on guys.. It's just a dare plus I know how shy Veer is and this is a really tough dare for him. "

She said.

Tapish said.

She said and I felt a little pang in my heart. I couldn't tell her the truth today.
I just hope our friendship always remains intact.

"So you are ready Veeranshu? "

Michael asked.

Veeranshu looked at me for a second and then he nodded.

Shit! What the hell is happening.

Veeranshu slowly moved towards me and stood in front of my chair.

He slowly started Unbuttoning his shirt as he still looked in my eyes. His gaze.. That fiery gaze was making me feel alot.

He was seeping into my soul and transpiring all those emotions that was stuck in my heart as they were getting revived .

His gaze was so intense that I could feel his control on my body.

He stripped off his shirt as his abs came into view. He soon moved the tip of his finger near the band of his shorts and slowly pulled it down.

He was now just standing in his boxers in front of me and my breathe almost laboured.

He was about to touch the band of his boxer when I intervened.

"Okay guysss... That's enough.. ! "

I said and Veeranshu quickly dressed up coming out of the moment.

"Whose next? "

Aakesh asked

" Let me ask.. ! "

Tapish said with a smirk on his face.

" Truth or dare Mayuri? "

He asked.

"Truth.. "

She said.

"Mayuri do you know your Best friend is in love with your fiancee? ".

He asked and we all looked at him shocked.

" What the fuck? "

I said.

"Shut up Tapish. You are talking about two of the most important people in my life"

Mayuri said and both me abd Veeranshu looked at her and then at each other.

I should have told her earlier. Once again guilt took over me.

"Yeah she doesn't love me .. "

Veeranshu said looking at me.

I know all of us were hiding our secrets but still I didn't want to burden myself with this emotion of loosing people.

"Just answer Mayuri.."

Tapish said.

"No.. She doesn't love him. "

She said confidently.

" Okay.. Okay fine next question.. "

Meera said calming the situation but no I was already fuming in anger.

"Okay so Aakesh Truth Or Dare? "

She asked

"Dare"

He said.

"I dare you to kiss the most attractive person in this room.. "

She said and Aakesh immediately locked eyes with me.

Aakesh got up and started moving towards me. I could see Veeranshu fuming in anger.

Ohh Lord why is so much drama surrounding me.

He came near me and moved a little closer. I closed my eyes but then I felt his lips on my cheek.

I opened my eyes and he gave a soft smile.

"Awwwwww.. "

Everybody said and Veeranshu averted his gaze.

Next was my turn.This scoundrel, I am not sparing him.

"Truth or Dare Tapish.. ? "

I asked.

"Truth.. "

He said.

"Is it true you sell fake prescription for money and destroy the lives of teens by making them drug addicts? "

I asked in anger and everybody gasped.Tapish looked pissed but I don't care.

" YES.. "

He said. Meera looked at him shocked.

"Okay enough of these shocking reactions! ".

Jay said.

" Meera truth or dare? "

He asked.

"Dare "

She said.

"I dare you to kiss.. Like a proper lip kiss to Mayuri.. "

He said.

Tapish said.

He said.

Meera came and pecked Mayuri on her lips and came back to her place.

He asked and Michael just kept looking at hik for a moment.

His gaze darkened.

It was almost like a new person being formed.

" I needed to find people to trick.. "

He said and all of us looked at him.

" I saw Bani was vulnerable so I approached her. I knew she was an easy target. I approached her because... I was fine with strangers to die if I get to live . "

He said his breathe labouring. We were all confused.

"Uhhhh.. Didn't know Michael you have this pranking side too.. ! "

I said laughing a little.

"I don't have morales like you Bani.. "

He said and started walking out.

"Wait Michael.. What's happening? "

I said following him.

"Woah.. Drama.. "

Jay said gulping some wine.

I followed Michael and he turned. He held my shoulder.

I said.

"Listen Bani.. This game is real. This shit is fucking real.

He said going insane.

He got into his car and left.

I said to myself.

I immediately turned to look at my friends but as I turned a frown appeared on my face.

The room was empty.

Their was no one there except for me.

I said stammering.

"Guys.. It's not funny come out.. "

I said.

" I know you guys are pulling a prank.. "

I suddenly felt someone crossing from behind me. .

I turned.

"Guys please come out.. ! "

I said being a little nervous.

I suddenly saw a cupboard moving from within.

My hands startes sweating and my heart was beating insanely.

I moved towards the cupboard and bent on my knees.

Someone was knocking from the inside.
I slowly moved ny hand to open it.

And as I opened it...

"FOUND YOUUUUUUUU"

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh".

I screamed and fell back .
