2. Diary

Rohit took a deep breath trying to calm his nerves and encouraging himself to go ahead with the plan. He took a deep breath again before covering his face with a mask and stealthily walking towards his destination - Birla Hospital.

He was about to enter the door when suddenly he was stopped by the watchman. He looked at him pretending to stay calm but he was a wrecking nerve internally.

"Aap kon ho sab," the watchman asked him suspiciously as the black mask and dress he was wearing was raising doubts on him. He had seen in many movies how thieves and murderers wear the same attire to prevent themselves from being caught he was not taking any sort of risk.

"Ji main Mr. Birla se Milne aya hoon" Rohit replied slightly modulating his voice. The watchman still looked suspicious as he asked another question.

"Kis Mr. Birla se milna chahte hai."

"Huh, kis ka kya matlab hai anyways main umm ya Mr. Neil Birla se milna aya hoon," Rohit replied being irritated as to why he was not being sent. But soon his irritation changed as he saw the watchman looking at him shocked. He felt conscious.

"Aap kisse milne aye hai Saab." The watchman man asked him back not being able to believe. Why is this young boy searching for a person who was dead over three decades back? Why now.

"Neil Birla" he repeated this time a bit unsurely. Why was he giving him such a reaction rather than just letting him go?

The man looked at him for a few minutes and then pulled Rohit further away from the entrance. Even before Rohit could ask him he heard the watchman say and he was left shocked at what he heard.

"Saab Neil baba ko gaye hue 34 years ho gaye hai aap yaha kisse dhoond ne aye hoon."

Rohit looked on shocked hearing it.

"No no yeh nahi ho sakti esa nahi ho sakta yaha tak akar ese sab khatam nahi ho sakta"

The watchman pitied the man. He doesn't know why he came here now but he can understand that meeting Neil Birla was very important to this boy. He was working with Birla's from the time Neil had started working there and he very clearly knew what a pure soul he was. But after his death, he had seen how the family got broken. He also remembers how after his death that name was no longer spoken in the hospital to avoid the memories related to it. It was after 33 years that he heard that name. That was when he remembered something. He looked back at Rohit who still looked shocked and rushed inside the security room to get something. There was something he could give to that boy just maybe it could help him.

Rohit somehow composed himself and was about to go when he felt a pat on his shoulder. He looked back at the huffing watchman and frowned.

"Beta mujhe nahi patah ki tumhe Neil Baba ke baare me kyu jaana hai par mere pass kuch hai jo shayad tumhare kaam aa sakta hai."

Rohit felt the hope in his rise at those words.

"Kya hai kaka aap mujhe de dijiye jo bhi hai mujhe chalega." At that point, he could take anything given to him.

Watchman nodded he was right in bringing it to that boy.

"Yeh book I mean wo kya kehte hai use ha Diary yeh diary rakhlo yeh Arohi madam ka tha(seeing his confusion) Neil Baba ki biwi aur Roohi Beta ki Ma." He replied with a smile at those fond memories he had shared with that little girl who sneaked out of the hospital to play with him or shared her food with him so that he wouldn't stay hungry on the days he couldn't bring the food.

Rohit took the book but stilled for a second hearing that name but dismissed those thoughts thinking it would be someone else. He was grateful for that help. Maybe his wife knew something about that incident maybe that was possible.

He nodded his head and left the promises before anyone saw him.

Roohi gently fanned herself with the open end of her saree when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked back suddenly very vigilant to her surroundings only to see Abhira.

"Tumne mujhe kyu bachaya ander rakh kar," she asked back doubtfully. Why she felt the need to help her was something that confused her. Roohi looked back for a second not knowing what to reply. She doesn't know what is special about this girl that she invoked something in her that she believed had died long ago. Kindness. An emotion that she believed left her soul with her Matashree. So she chose what she was best at doing. to deviate from the matter.

"Tumne mujhe under defend kyu kiya" she counter replied in her usual arrogant tone thinking it would effectively make her away but she just didn't realize that the woman she was talking to was someone who was just like her.

(PS. Unpopular opinion maybe but I somehow found Abhira similar to child Roohi. Childish bubbly and creative. That's what I believe at least.)

"Are tum yeh baat baat par ulta jawab kyu deti hoon" Abhira asked her.

"Jaise tum har baat par mujhe irritate karti ho" Roohi replied casually shrugging her shoulders.

"Excuse me main irritate nahi karti ok aur wait a minute tumhe kaise patah chala ki main under tumhe defend nahi kar rahi thi."

"I just know magician apne har tricks nahi batata Abhira" Roohi argued back not letting her little secret go.

"See isliye maine tumhe Ms. Acp Pradyuman bulaya tha." Abhira replied with an attitude. Roohi smiled stealthily. Her attitude always reminded her of Matashree whose that side was kept only for her papa. But her eyes were similar to her Masaji. Sometimes Roohi wondered if she was her Ira. She felt torn between longing and unacceptance. There were many times she just felt like calling her Maasi back but she didn't even when she had enough sources to. She wishes she could have done just that but unfortunately, she can't and she wouldn't.

The sister stood there for a while unknown to the fact the answers they seek are what the other one has. Abhira is Roohi's key to reviving herself back and Roohi has the purpose she was wandering to find.

"Why don't you go back Abhira tumhe mere saath dhoop main sekne ki zaroorat nahi hai" Roohi told her to which Abhira denied.

Roohi sighing commanded - "Go back Abhira I need some space" Abhira wanted to defy but something in that tone just made her take a step back. That was a tone her mother usually took which commanded perfect obedience. She nodded before going inside.

Abhira passed across Dadi Sa as she went to her room who was already glaring at her which changed to surprise seeing her sharp look. Abhira ignored her and went away to her room. She knew it was rude but she didn't want to have anything with anyone at the moment. She could save the time for studying. She has her entrance in fifteen days. Before she reached her room she got a call. It was her friend Sakshi. A smile bloomed on her face.

"Hey Ashi tu kaise hai in fact kaha oh god I miss you yaar" She spoke in a hushed voice but the excitement was evident in her voice.

"Relax meri Rajdhani express mujhe bolne toh de main yah mumbai main hoon and I have news for you."

"Kya kya hai news Ashi." Abhira questioned back excitedly. She had been waiting for a lead for a long time now if that was what her friend meant then she would be near to the truth. It will serve the real purpose she had taken a law degree. More than admiration for her mother she had different reasons to chose this occupation. And she felt the hope rise in her. Sakshi's sister was a crime journalist who was helping her find the backstory behind the case Abhira was searching for which happened more than two decades back.

"Yes, babes it's a lead the guy you are searching for is near you in Udaipur" Sakshi paused to get her reply. Her lead however shocked Abhira to the core. She never expected that. She was so close to the person she had been searching for for years for a month but she didn't realize that she was so close to that man.

"Abhira are you there see I know it's news but are you ok" Sakshi's voice brought her out of her thoughts and Abhira excused herself before cutting the call. She leaned on the wall, her eyes filled up with tears. She opened her father's photo as she looked at him repeating the promise she made to herself.

'I will avenge you no matter what papa. Your daughter will avenge your every pain'

Rohit silently closed the door and sat down to read the diary. He took it out and saw most of the pages were filled. Some was left but one thing surprised him. The diary had a very weird name to be precise. It was named as Mere pyaare chamgadar. Also, that diary had only entries between a certain period which was between one and a half years.

Something eventful has taken place in that period.

Or the entry dates wouldn't be that short. He went through random pages when he fell on a random page and he started reading.

Chamgadar

Kya hai tumhare ha. Aajkal tum bohot busy ho gaye ho kehna padega. Ya toh kaam main busy rehte ho ya apni princess se baat karte rehte ho tumhe ab apni princess ki mamma se baat karne ka toh time hi nahi hai. Dekhne ek din tum baat karna chahoge aur main unsuna kardungi tab tumhe samajh ayega.

Main bhi dekhti hoon kaise tum mujhse bachte hoon.

Tumhe pata hai Neil maine toh soch bhi liya ki hum kya karne wale hai. Princess ke liye tum mujhe dress aur toys toh lene doge nahi toh main uske liye baaki sab dekh lungi aur dekhne kaise hum milke humari princess ko uska perfect forever dete hai. Hume Jo kushi humari bachpan nahi mila na woh sab hum humari yani Neirohi ki Rooh ko kabhi ehsaas hone tak nahi denge. Hum na use kabhi akela feel hone nahi denge humesha uske saath rahenge oh god I have planned so much Neil tum jaldi wapas avo na hume kitna kuch saath main karna aab baki hai.

Tumhare intezaar main,

Tumhari apni chipkali,

Arohi Neil Birla

Rohit turned to other pages but so no mention of that incident. That was the last letter in the diary after that there were no entries. Again a dead end. He slammed his hand on the floor being done with everything.

Somewhere in the dark room, a small lamp was the only source of light in that place. All one could see was the red smoke spread across the room.  A man sat on a chariot chair smoking. He suddenly laughed out loud evilly. He shouted out as he spoke his next words.

"Bohot purana rishta hai humara toh ese kese tumhe bhool javu tumhe main huh. Ek baar tumne mujhe rokne ki koshish ki aur maine tumhe upar pohanchi di par ab tumhari hi koi apna mujhpar war kar raha hai toh main kese chup bethu. Wapis aagaya main welcome me welcome the Lucifer back dear ladies and gentlmen.

Yes we are done with the second part. Honestly I have no idea what I have written nor I know if it had come out well. That's upon you to decide so tell me if you liked it.

I know Abhir haven't come in this update but in the next one most probably. Sorry if you were waiting for it.

So what do you think is Rohit's next course of action.

How was Roohi-Abhira scene.

Why do you think Roohi never contacted Akshara even when she could.

What is it that Abhira had to avenge for.

What had kept Neil bothered in his last days.

And last but not the least what do you thin/want to happen next.

Think and share our reviews. Till then thanks for reading.
