~ Death ~
The blaring sound of the sirens of the police car, jarred the neighbourhoods out of sleep.
People glanced at their bedside clocks.
12.45 am
Cursing the police and their sloppy ways, the neighbours went to sleep.
The police in their blue uniforms emerged from the sturdy wooden doorway of the Ivanov Manor.
Something wrapped in a white cloth was loaded onto the accompanying ambulance.
A tall, well-built man, dressed in casuals, dragged himself into the waiting police cars.
The cars sped off, leaving behind only the deathly stillness of the night.
No one witnessed the events except six kids.
Alyssa, a cheerful teen, dark hair and gorgeous eyes, with her nose always in a book, was craning her neck to look out of the window. She had seen the red and blue beacons of the police vehicle and had heard the commotion in the house adjacent to theirs.
The two young lads, Austin of 16 and Michael of 19 were busy in some late night chatting on WhatsApp. They too had witnessed the scene, but from the front. They knew that the white covered thing was a dead body. And whenever the police is involved, there's always a smell of crime in that.
Alyssa meanwhile had given a call to her classmate Linda, a beautiful brunette, who was more outgoing and bolder than Alyssa. 17 year old Linda, jumped out of bed as soon as she had heard the news. It was with great difficulty that Alyssa had coaxed her to wait till morning to come and visit the site of crime.
John meanwhile was in his parent's car. They had just returned from a trip. The 18 year old had seen the owner of the house, a quiet man, who seemed harmless enough, being loaded into a police van. He had been too stunned and shocked by the sudden turn of events.
Nathan, the mischievous boy of 17, on the other hand was sneaking out of his house just before the incident. He had collided with a burly fellow, running out of the Ivanov Manor. The man had pushed him away without an apology.
His mind was working fast. If the death had actually been a murder, could that man be the killer? He cursed himself for not identifying the man properly in the dark. Just that he had glasses and walked in a slight limp. He had been wearing a light coat and had run off in a terrible hurry.
The 'Stunning Six', a gang of six teenagers was notorious for their quests. This group of young adventurers had time and again assisted the police with their keen observation and precise mystery solving abilities. Thus this death, whatever it was, kept them pondering throughout the night.
