After the last weeks of school ended, I packed my stuff and went to my aunt's house. She was nice and all but when I reached the first bedroom. I flipped out. There was loft bed with a desk under it. On the desk was a PC and a few figurines around it. A tv was mounted to the wall with a couch opposite to it. To top it all off, there was a mini fridge in a corner. I was extremely surprised. I didn't know my aunt was rich. Then my aunt came in and said," isn't my son's room wonderful?" It felt like I was run over by train. My aunt led me to a room which was about the same except for the loft bed. I unpacked my stuff and put it in the closet. This was going to be a long summer.

Two days after I arrived, lifeguard training and swim team began. I woke up early and departed for Lifeguard training. Luckily, it was an indoor pool. I changed into my swimsuit and headed out. The girls gawked at me. I rolled my eyes. None of them were my type. The beginning was simple. We just did exercises and drills. All the girls wanted to be with me but I ignored it. Finally, it was over and I raced into the locker room. As I dried myself off a bit, I saw a dude changing. Not to be pervy, but damn he was hot. I looked away before he could notice. After putting my hair in a swim cap, I walked out. Everyone else was in a line and I quickly joined them. The coach stood in front of us barking orders. When I wasn't paying attention, I was looking at the boy from the locker room who was right next to me. The coach decided we would have a swimming relay. I was paired with the boy.

"Hey," I asked." What's your name?"

"James," he replied

"Alex!"

"Nice to meet you, Alex,"

We hopped in the pool and began the relay. Me, having the least experience, I was the slowest. However, we came in a close second to another team." Damn!" I muttered. Suddenly, the coach blew his whistle." Ten laps! Everyone! Now!" He ordered. We all began our laps. Around the sixth lap, my arms started getting tired. Like, extremely tired. My legs ached from my baseball game the night before. Suddenly, I was submerged and I was sinking fast. I tried to swim up, but it felt as if I was paralyzed. I saw someone jump into the water, just as my vision went black.

My vision was blurry. I could see someone above me. I felt someone breathing into my mouth. I shot up and coughed up some water. My vision cleared. James was kneeling before me with a relieved smile.

"What happened?" I muttered in between coughs.

"You nearly drowned!" James said." Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I am,"

"Great! You better sit out for a bit though!"

With that, James winked and dove into the water. I sighed. He had saved my life. I watched James the rest of practice. I definitely needed to swim better.

As soon as I arrived at my aunt's house, she started smothering me. She cooked me my favorite dinner and dessert and we watched my favorite movie. Before going to bed, my mother called.

"Are you okay, hun?" My Mom asked.

"Yes!" I replied.

"You're learning to save lives, not lose yours!"

We talked a little more. After that,I went to bed. Swim team was tough.

The next practices, I would talk with James and he'd give me swimming tips. We soon became friends. One day, I got a call from Jack. He said that his parents are out of town and asked me if I wanted to stay over. I agreed then hung up. I called my aunt and she agreed. After practice, I drove over to Jack's  place. He invited me inside and told me he was having another party. I rolled my eyes but agreed. I made a bed in one of the huge cupboards in his kitchen because I knew there would be no beds available. I grabbed a bag of cheetos and put it in my lair. People arrived quickly and soon music was blasting. I grabbed a some soda and downed a few cups. After finishing my sixth cup, I realized someone had spiked the punch. I couldn't remember anything after.
